Animated gif clip art and saving

I am working on an ad for a customer and they want moving parts on the ad. I have built the background and text in Photoshop Elements 11. I have two pieces of animated gif clipart to place on the ad. How do I save it so that the pieces of clipart still move after saving?

However, there is no way to create the entire ad in PSE, since PSE can't save it as an html file. You will need to build the ad itself using some kind of web software.
In PSE once you put the gifs into the ad you would have to save it in an image format and they would no longer be gifs, so wouldn't move.

  • Animated .gif file correction and image ready help.

    Hi,
I have an animated gif created in an early verison of Image Ready & Photoshop. I need to make some changes. I have two problems.
A: Can't figure how to do it in the current version of Photoshop.
B: Open in the old image ready version, can't find the Layers pallet. I turn it on and off and it doesn't appear.
Trying to recreate a rotating .gif file any pointers or how to's?
    Thanks,
    John

You didn't say which version of ImageReady, but cs5 should open
most animated gifs from ImageReady and show the frames in the
Window>Animation panel. Some may not work right depending on
how old the version of ImageReady was that created them.
(you may have to resave the animation in ImageReady as a psd file)
In ImageReady try Window>Workspace>Reset Palette Locations and the layers
    palette should be visible.
In ImageReady, in the actions palette, are several actions to rotate (spin) images.

  • Clip art and stock photos

Hi; I'm working on Grant's challenge and I was looking for clip art and photos to use. I searched for free ones but the sites I found are not places I want to go because they do not look like shady places. Any recommendations?

    Mickey,
A while back I bought ClickArt 400,000 from Boderbund. It was very inexpensive. Check out their website. Every so often they run a special promotion with free shipping.

  • Clip art and messy borders?

    Hello all,
I upgraded from photoshop elements 6 to cs4.  PE6 had quite a few clip art and various photo art enhancements, but I don't see any in cs4, but I know they must be somewhere in there.  Can someone please direct me to the clipart.  I would like to put fancy squigly border pieces on the corners of my photos and I would like to get some of the edging borders that surroung the photos that look like chalky borders.  Please direct me on where to go
    Thank you!

Going back many versions, there used to be sample images included. Cannot recall if these were dropped in PS3, or PS4. There were few, though there were some ClipArt items, IIRC (may be thinking of AI).
As John points out, there are tons of libraries available for purchase, and if you have MS Office, MS has a ton of both stock photos, ClipArt and similar available. Do not know if that is available without Office.
There are also many sites that have a lot of decent ClipArt, and much of it is free, or reasonably priced.
The one thing to consider is the exact format of these. Some are bitmapped line art, and some are in proprietary formats, like WordPerfect's Graphics format. Others are Vector art and can be disassembled and reassembled at will. This will be easier in AI.
    Good luck,

  • Adding Clip art and text

I am fine tuning my Premeire Elements Video and adding music, text and some clip art. I am using Premiere 8. When I add clip art and text it goes in fine but when I do a preview playback the text and or the clip art fanishes before the end of the clip. I have put in "time stretch" for the clip, is there any way to also lengthen the clip art and the text? I have looked and read but am not finding the answer. Thanks

Meantime, have you checked out my free 8 part Basic Training series on Premiere Elements support site Muvipix.com?

  • When saving a document as a PDF for printing, I lose pages, clip art, and my orginal format. Help!

I have created some forms for our congregation to fill in with answers on adobe forms central. When I go to turn it into a PDF for printing for a hard copy, (not all our members have internet) when i save it to a PDF, it doesn't save all the pages and formats it differently then show on the screen i programmed it onto. How do I fix this issue?

    Hi;
In the "Feature Tutorials/Help" linked from the top of the main page of the Forums: Feature Tutorials / Help
There is a Tutorial on "Creating and distributing fillable PDF Forms": Tutorial: Creating and distributing fillable PDF forms
The main thing to look at is the "View" setting and for PDF set it to "Page View", the page breaks you define in Page View will be used in the PDF, there are also "implicit" page breaks added automatically based on the page size.
For the issue with clip art see this FAQ: Image does not show up in PDF
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • How Do I Change an Animated Gif's Iteration and Loop Settings? (Pshop/Image Ready 7.0)

Background to Issue (NOT a PPT or Windows issue even though It will seem like that at first but read on...): I have to make Animated GIFS to be inserted into Powerpoint. I work on a Mac but the PPT presentation will be shown on PCs (non-negotiable, since I can't ask hundreds of sales reps who will be using this to install an outdated version of PPT). I already learned that I need to insert the Gifs while working on a PC or else it won't work). Fair enough- I can put it together on a PC, again not the issue. BUT, when I do THAT, the gifs still wn't animate unless I am in PPT 2002. Fair enough (Microsif going backwards not a surprise) So it won't work in PPT 2003 which is what the users will all have. But I need to get the presentation to them asap! I got a bit further in researching and found out that the solution is that I need to set my "Loop Flag" and "Iteration Settings" appropriately. See this link (http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/animated_gifs/gifs.htm)
BUT I am trying to find out if one can do this already somehow in Mac Photoshop 7.0 or Mac Image Ready 7.0, where I made the gif and would prefer to keep making my gifs. Maybe I need to upgrade Image Ready or Pshop to CS? SO THE FINAL QUESTION IS: Is there another way to manual do this without this PC Plug-in?
NOTE: Yes, I know how how to set the loop to "once" or "forever" in Image Ready when I make my Gifs but apparently I need to do this somewhere else...where the iteration setting lives too?

There is an ImageAnimator so you may not need to use byte array instead.

  • Clip Art and Borders

Hi - Does anyone know if there is clip art available for pages and can you add a page border. Going Crazy!!!! Hope someone has the answer. Thanks

    Hello macgirl1188,
welcome to the Pages Discussions. You can use every clip art you can find if it is a EPS, PDF or PS file. Of course you can use bitmap files in JPEG, PNG or TIFF, too. Have a look at http://www.openclipart.org/.
You can insert a rectangle shape for every kind of border. Make sure the shape is a fix placed object (in the wrap inspector). Adjust it in size, position and appearance like you need it and send it to the back (menu: "Arrange"). If you need the border on every page, choose the menu item "Format/Advanced/Send Object to Page Master". If you need the border only on one page, you can lock it with the menu item "Arrange/Lock".
If you need a more art like border, you have to insert an image in the needed size and resolution.
    Frank.

  • Animated GIF problem saving for web in CS6

I made an animated gif in CS6 and trying to save it for the web. The duration of the animation is pretty long, about 44 seconds. After 17 seconds the animation stops while the saving was completed. How can I solve this problem? The file is too large to attach (725 x 225 px) unfortunately.
    Please give me some advice;-)

Yopu probably exceed the GIF specs and generate too many frames.
    How many frames are possible?

  • Can I add animated GIFs to my project and Publish as HTML5?

I've created several projects with Adobe Captivate 7 and have added animated GIFs to my project. When I publish, the GIF animations are only animated when played as SWF. When I play the HTML5 version the GIFs only show the first frame.
Is there a way for me to publish my Adobe Captivate project so that the GIFs are animated when viewing the HTML5 output?

    HaridossR1234,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried both draging-and-dropping the animation into the project as well as using the insert-> Animation menu option, but neither result in and animated GIF being displayed when the project is on the web and being viewed as an HTML5.
I should note that the GIF IS animated when I view the project on my computer after publishing, but not when the project is displayed on my website. I publish the project with both GIF and SWF checked and Chrome displays the animated GIF but Firefox and Safari do not.
When you say to check the HTML5 output, do you mean when I'm publishing the project as a whole or is there that option somewhere when I'm inserting the GIF?
    Sincerely,
    Lillie

  • Adobe Source for Photos and Clip Art

Does Adobe have its own source for clip art and photos that it's customers can use? If not can anyone recommend a good web site for such stuff (or is that not allowed under forum rules?), of course, preferably free.

  • Safari 4.0.X and Animated GIFs

I have a web site that makes use of animated GIFs that I've created with Adobe Photoshop (7 and more recently CS3). They worked fine when I viewed them with earlier versions of Safari, but not with Safari 4.0.X (i.e., any vers. 4 issued so far including 4.0.3). They either change after a long delay (60 sec. instead of designed 5 sec.) or not at all.
Other browsers seem not to have this problem, but I haven't tried them all.
In trying to solve this problem I've discovered some interesting things:
    1. When I create an HTML page using Dreamweaver on my desktop, add an animated GIF, and open it with Safari 4.0.X the GIF animates as designed,
    2. When I access a page from my web site the GIF doesn't animate as described above. However, if I close that page and access it again, the GIF animates, presumably because I'm viewing the cached page on my computer.
    3. Animated GIFs on other sites seem to work (maybe they didn't use Photoshop?).
    4. I sent a Bug Report to Apple on vers 4.0.1 but the problem is still there on 4.0.3
My question is why the different behavior in 1. and 2. above, and why hasn't Apple fixed this problem that seems to be newly created with vers. 4.0.X?

    star-fish wrote:
I think the main problem is that your gifs are massive. Animated gifs should be quite small, and not have more than 256 colours. Try resizing one as a test, say 25% of what it currently is and see if that changes anything.
If it doesn't, try making an animation on http://gifworks.com and uploading it to see if that's any faster.
As an aside, you don't need tables on each individual page - just 'center' your text and image. Tables are designed to be used for tabulated data, and create problems for people using screen readers if they aren't.
Also, you may want to remove the . in image and page title names, because those could cause you problems too. Renaming your pages and images so they reflect what's on them more accurately is good for search engines too.
Thanks for your reply, star-fish. I agree my animated GIFs are large, and my page design may not be optimum. However, when I access them with other browsers such as FireFox 3.5.2 and Internet Explorer 5.2, which I did just a few minutes ago, they begin animating in the designed 5 or 6 seconds instead of 50 to 60 secs or more with Safari 4.0.3. Also, they animated in the designed time with Safari 3. So, something is different about Safari 4.0.X, either intentionally or unintentionally.

  • "mail contents of this page" won't support animated gifs

Let me start by saying that i know that Mail doesn't support animated gifs. However, up untill last year, i was able to email moving animated gifs by putting them online and mailing the content of the safari page (command i). I haven't made any updates to Mail or safari, yet this feature suddenly stopped working. I am still able to use command with still images, but when i try to use the command on an animated gif, nothing happens and it's grayed out in the menu.
I can't figure out how to email a moving gif via gmail either.
(Just to clarify, I know I can send a gif file, but It's useless if it doesn't show up as a moving image in the recipient's inbox).
Does anyone have a fix for this issue or another idea how to email a moving animated gif?
    Many thanks!

Yes, that was the problem. Mail couldn’t save a temporary copy of the message in Drafts because AOL doesn’t let IMAP clients such as Mail to create or manage mailboxes at the root level of the account directory, only as subfolders of Saved, and this causes Mail to not work properly if Store messages on the server is turned ON for any of the mailboxes in Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors. You should turn Store messages on the server OFF for all the standard mailboxes, so that they are stored locally instead.

  • Animated GIFs in iMessages

I have been searching Google for the past 30 minutes, but still can't find the answer to this...
What is the deal with animated GIFs via iMessages on the iPhone?  Does it work?  Is it supposed to? Are there any limitations?
I tried sending an animated gif to a friend.  Both of us are using an iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.
On my end, I see the animation playing on the iMessages app.  On her end she just receives a still frame.  Why?
I tried it two different ways.  First I tried it by simply copying the image from Safari and plasting it into the message.  Then I tried it by saving the image to my camera roll and adding it to the message that way.  Neither worked.  Both times I could see the animation on my end, but the recepient only saw a still image.
Any ideas?  I just want to know how this is supposed to work and when I can, or can not, use it.
    Thanks!

I kinda been having the same issue. Its strange though, many of the gifs (usually copied and saved into my camera roll from tumblr) will actually WORK on the other end, meaning the other user can see it (animated). But sometimes they dont, they just receive a still.
Thats my problem, why do some of the files work and others dont when they are all coming from the same source?!
    APPLE NEEDS TO CRACK THIS!!!
