Animated Rollover for Muse

Hi, I'm trying to create an animated rollover for use in Muse (not a button, JUST a rollover) using Edge Animate, like the example on this page (scroll or click Features): PozitivA - Multipurpose One Page Muse Template
It doesn't seem like I am able to insert the animation as a state or within a state button. How can I go about accomplishing this?
Thank you.

Thank you! I figured it out via this tutorial after reading your answer: Adobe Edge Animate Interactive Rollover Web Buttons Tutorial - YouTube
I'm completely new to Edge Animate

Why is this? For raising mood. For a quick understanding

    Hi Tuttle and Marlinespike,
"Also, the breadcrumbs are inconsistent in that there is no link back to the Category level from some individual forums, e.g.,
    We see: Apple.com > Support > Discussions > PowerBook G4 (15-inch Aluminum) > Using Your PowerBook G4 15-inch Aluminum
Where we might expect to see: Apple.com > Support > Discussions > PowerBook > PowerBook G4 (15-inch Aluminum) > Using Your PowerBook G4 15-inch Aluminum"
    Personally I find this consistent:
Categories and Forums are two different things, so the Categories link is on a different level
( Post New Topic - Subscribe to Forum - Mark All Topics as Read - Back to Category ).
Tuttle your version too is consistent though.
Now perhaps the whole thing is not a good idea and finally the old system was better?
I don't know, but personally I jumped on the "Categories" new features at once, found them very well designed and helpful, and am now very disappointed that they've been taken "temporarily" away.
About "the large "Apple Discussions" logo" that should be a link to Apple Discussions:
Sorry, I must be blind, I don't see what you mean.
When I need to go back to the Home page, I just click the
Apple.com > Support > Discussions > Using Apple Discussions > Feedback about New Discussions
    link.
Or I use my bookmark. Or I use my browser's "command-arrowleft" if it was no too far.
As you can see, there is something I am missing in your explanations. Can you please tell me what was this feature that you miss so much, and how are you redirected too much (or instead?) to Apple main page?
    Thanks!

  • Animated slideshow in muse?

I've searched high and low for a decent tutorial on how to create an animated slideshow in Muse. Just need to be pointed in the right direction.
Here's what I want to do: I'm a cinematographer and on the home page of my website I want a slideshow of still photos to start automatically. One caveat: they are not all the same shape but that's a minor issue. Anybody know of a tutorial or directions I could find somewhere?
I've also tried to build the animation in InDesign. I can get a photo to fade in or fade out but not fade in, then fade out.  I don't need an animated InDesign document, I was just following a suggestion to do it that way. Didn't help much. I hope the answer isn't to do it in Flash; I'm not very good at Flash but whatever it takes.  I assume there are templates you can buy but I don't want to buy and I prefer to learn how to do it myself so I can teach my students.
I'll need to place videos on the website also. I've done that many times in GoLive so I'm guessing it won't be difficult. However,  I would perhaps like to have poster frames of the videos fade in and fade out — to be played when clicked on. For now however, I need to do the slideshow of stills.
    Thanks

  • Help creating an animated gif for a navbar!!

Hey guys, I am very new to fireworks and dreamweave and am having a problem that is making my head spin! I have to create a simple animated .gif for a navigation bar (which will be made in dreamweaver). The navigation bar should function similar to this: http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~baronson/ITI320/Exercise2/functionality.html. Essentially, all that is happening is I create this animated image and in dreamweaver, when I create the AP NavBar, I set the mouseover to that image. My problem is that in comparison to this website's mouseover image  ( http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~baronson/ITI320/Exercise2/images/navi/audience_OVER.gif ) my animated gif has multiple layers and states, where as his only has one layer. I can't seem to figure out how to include both the text, and the gif image, and incorporate them under the same layer.
A follow up question after having found how to incorporate both into the same state, would I have to lasso out each piece of my animated gif for the individual state I want to have it applied to?
Any help/pointer to where the information can be found would be greatly appreciated. I've read through the manuals and watched many of Babbage's videos but haven't been able to figure this out. Thanks!

Your gif doesn't need to have multiple layers, but it does need to have multiple states. To save yourself a lot of confusion, create the animated gifs first, and then export them. Create your navbar in the usual way, with simple rolloveres or swap images. Export the navbar.Rename the animated gifs with the names of the over state of the navbar images, and then delete (or mone to another folder) the over state images of the navbar. Move the renamed gif animations into the image folder of the navbar. Preview in browser. The animated gifs should have replaced the original over state of the buttons.

  • What is the accepted format for creating animated emoticons for the iPhone and iPad? Are they .gif files?

I'm new to creating apps for iOS and am interested in creating an app that uses animated emoticons in messaging. I wasn't sure what format was accepted, however. I presumed that .gif files would work but want to know for sure before we begin working on them. Thanks!

So...how does one make animated emoticons for iOS? That's my question, I suppose. Thanks!

  • How do I fix my animation presets for text that won't load? It seems to get locked in loop and I am forced close Adobe Bridge.

How do I fix my animation presets for text that won't load? It seems to get locked in a loop when I click on one and I am forced to "fore close" Adobe bridge which After Effects uses to locate the presets. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is your exact workflow? The proper procedure is to select your text layer in AE, find the text preset you want to use, then drag or double click that preset to apply it to your project.
It also helps  if we know your version of AE and OS down to the decimal point. You didn't give us much to go on.

  • Are email addresses included with free accounts for Muse subscribers?

Are email addresses included with free accounts for Muse subscribers? Maybe not, huh? How would I upgrade to include an email address? Since the basic service is included with the subscription, would I have to pay full-fare for an upgrade just to get an email address? I'm worried, because I get messages saying that some servers will block forms that are sent to an address other than from the domain, and we have a form on our site.

Unfortunately, email accounts are not included in the complimentary plan (Web Basics). For that, you will need to upgrade to the next plan which is WebBasics+.

  • Where can I download a manual for MUSE? Everytime I do a query it puts me to the online version. I want one I can hold.

    @@@

There is no 'manual' for muse other than the online one. There are some great books available though such as Adobe Muse CC Classroom in a Book (2014 release)

  • Simple animation software for Arch?

Can anyone suggest a simple animation program for Linux; something similar to AnimationShop for windows.  I know there's gimp-GAP, but that seems to be fairly advanced for my purposes.  I just want to be able to string together images into .gif or video, perhaps with an 'onion layer' feature so you can see the previous frame transparently; that sort of thing.
I use gnome, so preferably something for GTK, or at least if it's KDE, that depends only on QT and not KDE packages.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

skottish wrote:You don't actually need GAP to do animated Gifs in Gimp. All you need to do is add all the frames that you want as layers in one image, then save as Gif. Gimp will ask you if you want to flatten the image or make an animation out of it. If you choose animation, it will ask you for a frame rate.
Thanks.  I realised this eventually and got it done that way.
Still, out of curiosity are there any 'film-strip' type animation programs out there?

  • Can I create a disjointed rollover for videos?

I am working on a webpage that I created a disjointed rollover for thumbnails that I want individuals to see a larger image of.
While I was working, I wondered if I could create a disjointed rollover for a video? I would use thumbnails for the viewer to rollover and when they do rollover I would want a swf video to play. Is this possible? Any suggestions on how to go about it?
    Thank You.

I would not let anyone else determine whether your choice is wrong or right without knowing all of the details. Let's consider that you've made the considerations already and for anything else you're simply asking to see if it's possible or not and you're looking for suggestions on how to go about it. I mean, that is what you asked in your original post isn't it? I re-read your original post and I didn't see anywhere in there where you were asking others whether they thought this was the right choice or not...
Perhaps you want to save the mouseclick so the user can click the thumbnail and view the entire video while mouseover plays a small preview in disjointed? The other poster probably didn't think too much about it though.
To directly answer your question: yes, it's possible to mouseover a thumbnail to play a video. Depending on the intended use a method like this is not only acceptable, it's expected. Many highly-regarded websites use this technique including http://videocopilot.net and http://istockphoto.com to name a few. A method like this allows for faster browsing and preview of videos instead of requiring a user to not only mouseover the thumbnail, but then continue to click once to display preview and then click once again to close the lightbox. That's a cumbersome method for the user if they want to preview many videos.
View source on the websites mentioned in this post to see how it's accomplished.

  • Paid membership for Muse no longer works since recent update

I have a paid membership for Adobe Muse, but after a recent update Adobe only allows me access Muse through a 30-day free trial. I am occasionally requested to enter a serial number for Muse, but cannot find any reference to this in my past emails. How can I overcome this ongoing issue?

    Hi,
Please try the steps below depending on the operating system,
    Windows
Click on the "Start" menu. Select "All Programs" and then "Accessories"
Right-click on "Notepad" and select "Run as Administrator"
Click "Continue" on the "Windows needs your permission" dialog
When Notepad opens, click File and select Open
In the filename field type the following:C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
From the "File" menu select "Save" after making changes
    Restart Muse
    Macintosh
Click on the "Finder" icon. Select the "Applications" folder
Open the "Utilities" folder and select "Terminal"
    Type the following:sudo nano /etc/hosts
Enter the OS user's associated password when prompted
If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
Press control+o to save the file
Press control+x to close the file
    Restart Muse
Please let me know if it works.

  • CMS solution for Muse...

We need a CMS (Content Management Software) solution for Muse.  Either integration with other software, or its own internal version.
At the minimum, an article manager would be great.  User management can come later.
Can you tell me if this is something that is "in the works" for Muse?
Things like this will make Muse the "InDesign" (Quark-killer) of web design.   Muse is fantastic.  Keep up the good work!
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
Was wondering if you found a solution? Not sure if it's a similar issue, I am currently creating a site for a lady who wants a news box she can update on a weekly basis. She is familiar with CMS as her website is currently hosted with 1&1 (doesn't look as pretty, but very editable from my client's point of view). The CMS in place for Muse has a nice interface but I am getting the impression it doesn't tick all the boxes for my client. Someone, and I'm afraid I can't remember who or where they were from mentioned there were other CMS solutions for Muse sites?

    shambles,
You could try to reinstall using the full three step way (otherwise strange things may linger):
Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.
