Animating effects

Hi.
I have found a decent tutorial on creating heat haze and the results are exactly what I want. I have created animations in 3DS Max and then imported file sequences into AE to add the heat haze. This is great when the camera is not moving and when the hot components in my scene are "static" (location wise).
Q. If I have a moving camera panning around the scene and I also have hot objects that are moving around the scene, what is the best way to animate my heat haze effect to follow the hot objects and change size with them.

You will need to create custom passes in your 3D program using particles and placeholder geometry. Typically UV passes, motion vector passes, normal passes and custom point position passes are used for this in combination with object buffers to determine positions of pixels or apply reverse mapping techniques and generates masks and mattes. Sometimes VFX companies even go so far as to simulate the actual heat flow using fluid simulations and output the direction vectors or point clouds... And then of course depending on the camera move a bit of manual keyframing, masking and tracking will do many times. It's not that most people will notice the difference as long as there is no obvious drift...

Animation effects not playing correctly in captivate 6 (playing last frame first?)

Hi there,
Currently in captivate 6 I have a problem where when an item is coming in using an animation effect the image is flashing up very breifly, dissapearing then playing the animation as it should. it is almost as if it is playing the last split second first then looping round. This only applies to some of the items and not all of them, I have tried redoing them only for the same problem to occur. There is only 1 entrance effect playing on each item and there are 4 items on screen, the second and third images are the ones causing problems although the text and fitst image is fine. I have tried toggling sync with project. This also occurs both in publish and in preview
Any other ideas?

All of the items in question are set to display for the rest of the slide and the effect lasts less then a second where each item is on screen for 10+ seconds so there is plenty of the for the entrance effect to play out.
I have noticed however if I set all of the items with effects to start on the start of the slide the effect plays correctly but that means it isnt synced to the voiceover.

Browse animation effects causing Bridge to freeze

Every time I select browse effects from the animation menu, Adobe Bridge launches (as expected).
When I navigate to the "Text/Blurs" folder and open it, Bridge freezes.
I know I can add an effect to my text without resorting to Bridge, but I'm following
Adobe's Classroom in a box and selecting this method to preview an effect is
causing Bridge to freeze.

Make sure your AE and your Bridge are up to date. There was a problem in earlier builds. Also, the Animation Effects previews in Bridge are resource intensive little buggers. Make sure that you have allocated an even number of MB of ram to other apps and you're not starving your system. If you only have 8 GB give 4 to other apps and 4 to AE, if you have 16 then you can give 4 to others and 12 to AE.

Animation effects in PowerPoint for Mac

I've searched all the online help, and looked in the MS Knowledge Base, but found nothing about how to apply animation effects across ALL slides in PowerPoint 2004 for Mac. I find it very tedious to visit each slide and each component (title and bullets) to apply my visual effect and sounds separately. There is a checkbox which allows me to apply a slide transition to all slides, but I've found nothing which allows me to apply the same animation effect to all titles in all my slides. How do I do that? I've applied my animation and sounds to the Master Slide, but that had no effect on the other slides.

360 Degree Animation Effect in flash

Hi everyone,
I have to create a 360 degree animation effect on 2d image in flash. Basicaly its a product image and has to be animated in 360 degree. Presently I am working on Flash CS4 and it has 3d tool, but i was unable to make it. Now the thing is coming in my mind that, Is this the right software to create such effect, i m worried . Pls help me out from this problem.

I just watched the youtube 360 degree animation in flash and it is very nice. However i do have a question, While this make the animation, it only does the switching between a picture and another picture. There is no transition between them or any blend.
Is there a way to have a blend added to this so that the picture more look like a real 360 panoramic view ?
I love the idea of the mouse controling the view and i know i can place the picture back to back and build them so it is one huuuuuge picture, however in that case it will be nearly impossible to put them all in 1 frame..
I can easely create the 360 panoramique picture in photoshop, but then it is in flash thati have the probleme. I want to apply the mouse control idea. but because the result will be a lot larger than the stage, i don't know how to deal with that...
Erm.. i'm not sure i am clear :S

Font Animation effect...

Hello All,
I've posted this in this area and the Final Cut Pro area, because I have both programs, and either way I'd like to do it..
I'm looking to create an animation effect on a text.. It should be simple, but I can't seem to figure it out..
I'd like to start out with a word, Say.. "Hello" in white font, with a black background.
On the start of the clip I want the "Hello" so big that the screen appears white. Then I'd like for it to slowly zoom out, getting easier to see what it says, until it reaches a designated size on the section of the screen I wish it to appear on.
anyone know how to create this effect?

Animation effects charts

I want to create animation effects in charts when some data
changes.For eg: in a Pie Chart I want the slices to rotate based
upon the new data values.And also highlight the slice whose data
value got changed by setting its color to some other temporarily
and then switch back to the original color.
I thought of using dynamic masking but somehow it doesnt seem
to work. FYI I am using actionscript drawing APIs to create my pie
chart dynamically.Each slice is an independent movieclip(so I have
got control over them).

Gnome 3: some animation effects aren't working

When I open or close window there is no animation. Windows just open or just close without any effects.
On the other hand minimizing executes with animation. And actions in Activities have animation too.
I'm pretty sure that my hardware can do this thing because somehow I made Gnome3 to animate closing and opening. Actually it was some kind of a bug: animation worked only if gnome-shell was not running. %) I had to run it via terminal. And when it started animation had gone.
I reinstalled whole system and even that couldn't help me to get closing/opening animation effect.
Option /org/gnome/desktop/interface/enable-animations sets to true.

If you were previously using iOS 3.2.2 then the problem that you are having is probably that the screen orientation lock was changed to a system sounds mute switch in iOS 4 (games, alerts, key presses, etc.)
However, in iOS 4.3 the function of the switch is configurable, it can be an orientation lock as before or a mute switch. Go to Settings > General > Use side switch... To set what you want.

Audio narration mixed with animation effects

Does anyone know why the audio animation effects become faint
when mixed in Breeze with the narration audio? It is almost as if
it automatically layers the audio for the narration to take
precedence.

It seems that you answered your own question. The narration
does take precedence. Presenter is intended to have one audio track
playing.

Time based animation effects

I'm adding effects to images on a slide. Entrance effects. Yet the one image disappears after the 3 seconds. The text box goes back to its initial size before the zoom. How do I get them to stay at the position they are at at the end of the time-based animation effect? Thanks in advance!

Check the timing of the effect in the Effects panel. Most likely you don't have the effect timing set correctly there so that it remains in effect for the duration that the image is on screen.
Perhaps you can post a screenshot of your main timeline showing the image in question, and the same image's Effects timeline?

Multiple layered animation effects in HTML 5 not working

I created an animation with 2 effects layered on top of each other so an object would from move from position A to B while a second effect scaled the object to reduce in size at the same time. This was just a matter of setting up the two effects in the same space on the animation time line.
When I output to HTML 5 I only get the motion animation from A to B but not the scale at the same time.
Are there any known issues with HTML 5 supporting layered multiple animation effects in Captivate 6?

You did use an Effect that is not yet supported for HTML5. The only supported effects are these:
Entrance
- Fly-in (all)
- Ease-in (all)

- Fly-out (all)
- Ease-out (all)

- Left-to-Right Ease

- Rectangle

Lag when using animated effect

I have a little problem with my ADOBE AFTER EFFECT CC Version 13.2.0.49
When i use animated effect like Rainfall or Twitch from VideoCopilot my After Effect get har lags !

my customer wants to see BW chart with animation effect, for example, when displaying a line chart, the line starts from the start point and extend to the end point.
another effect is that: display a map(maybe a contry or a provice), when the mouse move over it, the coordinate and the keyfigure(maybe the sales amount in the province) is displayed

Thorugh BEX Web Application Desinger we can do all these effects. In WAD please check all the properties to get animation effect for the charts. Check all the properties for the CHART ITEM in WAD.
These are only possible thru BI 7.0.
Using Maps:
Maps has to be loaded into your system. to get these maps we need to order to SAP AG. They can only provide these types of maps or other way is to get through the ARCVIEW Software where you can generate your own Maps.
Numerous characteristics of the SAP BI possess geographic meaning, for example,
customer, sales region, country. The geographic information, as well as the
associated relevant characteristic values, can be evaluated in the BEx Map. The
BEx Map is the geographical information system (GIS) of SAP BI. It is integrated
into the Business Explorer.
Maps can be used to visualize economic connections and distributions. You can
clearly represent, for example, specific characteristic numbers as hues, circle or
bar charts for a country, a region or a city. You can also alter the layout of a map
by either zooming in or out around detailed or region-specific information. In this
way the marketing study of a certain product becomes related to a certain region
or a country. Market opportunities or dangers can be recognized in one view.
In addition to using tables or diagrams to visualize information, you can represent
geographically relevant information on a map using BEx Map.
Within the BEx Map, you can use different ways to visualize information:
You can assign different colors to certain areas of maps.
You can add diagrams (bar charts and/or pie charts).
You can display location information (for example, customer addresses) in
the form of points, triangles, squares or crosses on the map.
You can use any query that contains geo-relevant characteristics for mapping.
Maps of different degrees of detail can be layered on top of each other as indicated
by different levels of characteristic values.
For example, if a characteristic number in a query is used on the country, region
and postal code levels, three layers in the BEx Map can be indicated. The
respective characteristic for the geographical analysis must be activated.
A higher level covers an underlying level if it has a larger, opaque surface over
the map level below it.
Connections (or correlations) between data provide the basis for planning and
actions because they are more easily recognizable when visualized on a map.

To use an InfoObject in BEx Map, you must first define it as a geo-characteristic.
This is done in the InfoObject maintenance of the Administrator Workbench.
In the listing of the InfoObjects, select the desired InfoObject and open the

desired type of geo-characteristic in the Geographical Type field.
Activate the InfoObject to save the assignment.
Shape files make the static geo-characteristics available on the map.
The Structure of the Shape Files
The Shape files consist of three differently formatted files:
*.shp Geo-data that forms the map
*.shx Geo-index to reduce map access time
*.dbf Attributes for the geo-element, such as country or region
Static and dynamic geo-characteristics describe data with geographic relevance
(for example, characteristics such as customer, sales region, country). This
geo-relevant data is represented and evaluated by maps.

Dynamic geo-characteristic
A dynamic geo-characteristic has geographic coordinates that change
more frequently and describe a place (location information). Customer or
workplace are examples of dynamic geo-characteristics because they are
settled at a geographic point, which can be described by an address. The
address data of these characteristics is subject to frequent change. SAP BW
adds a set of standard attributes to this geo-characteristic. The geographic
coordinates of the appropriate object are stored for each line in the master

Linking Data to a Map:
Static geo-characteristics are connected to shape file map coordinates using the
SAPBWKEY.
When implementing a query for this geo-characteristic, BEx Map transfers the
data for every area on the map.
To be able to maintain the SAPBWKEY, you have to load the three files for the
shape file to your local hard disk. However, you can maintain the SAPBWKEY in
the dbf file only. While it is possible to maintain the SAPBWKEY in Microsoft
Excel or in ArcView, SAP recommends that you use Excel for small amounts.

Dear ID users,
I have been using Keynotes to build up grafic / text animation for clients, but now I want to turn to InDesign to benefit from the text stylesheets, page models and updatable imported images, precious features missing in Keynotes.
Now I have a problem finding Keynotes features missing in inDesign, such as mainly:
Typewriting effect on text
Parametric rotation (indesing allows only 90/180º)
Besides, I do not know how to
Integrate a video animation on a page as an object
Register a voice over synchronised with the animation
I guess some of those ressources can be found under Flash, but I don't know where to fetch them. Is there any Adobe Library for common animation effects?

HTML animation effects doesn't work after last update

After last update my html animation that have different effects with different time: fade, translate, rotation, scale, ecc... plays but some effects doesn't play.
Various animated png in html project appears immediatly without shows transitions or deformations.
I have made html animation with Motion Composer that have time curve for each effect.. and all work fine with previous dps desktop tools...
I don't use Hedge because folios with hedge animation is mooooooooore large than folios with motion composer animation.
A single complex animation (10 .png(1024x768) with multipe effects fo each) made with composer produce a 1MB folio...
The same animation made with Hedge produce more the 100MB folio.
why new version of dps don't show my html anim correctly ? I hope adobe correct this proble.
