Animating grouped objects for ipad presentation

I am working on a 134-slide timeline presentation in keynote that I'm designing on my Mac and then transerferring to an iPad. I have read that to avoid problems translating the presentation from a Mac to an iPad to avoid grouping objects that an effect will be applied to. I'm taking that to mean that includes animation? I have several slides where three different blocks of text need to dissolve into the frame at the same time. It makes sense to me to group these instead of applying a separate build to each text block but since reading that advice (found here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4114), I am concerned about what I should do.
Does anyone have any answers that would either verify this advice or refute it?

This Apple support page verifies the issues involved in going from Mac to iPad.
My own experience involves testing exhaustively all presentations that are destined for the iPad. This can be very problematic when users disregard the guidlines set out below:

What are the best tools and software for iPad presentations (including remotes)?

I'm using an iPad 4th generation device and my software includes Haiku Deck and Keynote. I've fully used Haiku Deck so I don't want to discuss that too much (love the software!). I'm curious about working with Keynote and PowerPoint and any others that are compatible. I also am looking for solutions for remote control devices. It's not clear to me what devices work with iPads, as most apps describe controlling a Mac computer with an iOS device. So far I've had trouble using an iPod Touch 4th generation which is troubling. I can connect all kinds of devices to my iPad, such as Bluetooth keyboards and an Android phone, but the Touch running iOS 6 will not seem to connect. In other words I can't use it to control Keynote on IPad which is disappointing. Please advise on software and remotes. Thank you.

Animating an object issue, please help!

Hey all!
I am very new to Motion and everything I have learned I have learned online so please be patient! lol
Anyway, I am animating an object for a stop motion project. The issue I am having is coming when I need the object to remain stationary for a few frames and then all of a sudden jump to a new position.
Instead of jumping to where I place it, it seems to animate it frome the first frame where it was remaing still and sliding to the position I need it to jump to over the duration of the frames where it remains still. How can I prevent this?

The animation you are seeing between the frames is the interpolation, Motion calculating the changes between keyframes. To do what you want, you need to change the method of interpolation between keyframes.
What it sounds like you want is "Constant" interpolation.
Take a look at this section of the Motion manual (you may want to review the whole secion on keyframing in the manual: http://help.apple.com/motion/mac/5.0/en/motion/usermanual/#chapter=12%26section= 12
In the keyframe editor, select the keyframe that you want to hold. Right-click over the keyframe and go to the Interpolation options in the contextual menu. Select "Constant". This will hold the value until the next keyframe.

Resizing grouped objects keynote

In keynote I would like to be able to resize grouped objects without maintaining proportionality - is this possible?
The "Constrain Proportions" button is greyed out for grouped objects for me.
I'm using version 6.2

The only people who can give an informed answer are the Apple engineers, however they don't post in the user to user community.
Keynote 5.3 certainly could do this, but the latest version of Keynote is a completely separate application with different tools and features and file format.

Keynote Skin for iOS presentations

Hi Folks
There is one thing that bothers me every time that I build a keynote presentation and send it to my iPad. As you all may know, there are several desktop keynote features that gets lost on translation.
If I look harder, I will probably find some guideline that tells me what feature I should and should not use to import my presentations to iPad. However, I think it would be much easier if Apple had some kind of skin selector or presentation template that would turn the desktop keynote into a mobile presentation builder. This way, the user would only see the features and transitions that can be properly imported to mobile keynote.
This would be very helpful. This way I'd not spend a lot of time preparing a presentation just to find out that all the hard work is lost in translation and I have to customize it all over again for iPad presentation.
Would this make sense? Is there any current solution for this that I'm not aware of?

How to add Spin animation to grouped object

I would like to add a spin animation to a grouped object, but it is not available on the selection list. Is there anyway to overcome this issue? I tried loading the grouped object as an image but still no avail

Hmmm ... I'd never noticed this before, but now when I try it, I can't either. SPIN is apparently unavailabe as an animation for both grouped objects and images, and I can't think of any way around that. But TWIRL is close - as I'm sure you already discovered. Trying to create presentation for iPad

Hi there,
I hope someone can help me today.
I have InDesign 5.5 and need to produce a presentation that is required to be displayed on an iPad.
I have started to build a document that includes some animations and will also include some slide shows. What I need to know is what do I export the document as in order to view the document. I can't even see the presentation on my macbook pro. I can see it in preview but cannot work out what I need to save / export it as in order to view it.
I have also downloaded and installed the Folio Producer Tools and installed them but still in Indesign when I go to Extensions and Folio I get the box asking me to go to download and install them. I've done this twice now which I guess in itself could be a problem but now cannot find the files to uninstall them.
I would really appreciate some straightforward advice. I don't want to complete this important document for work only to find no-one can view it, on laptops or otherwise.
Please help as I am bashing my head against a brick wall here!

Want to use ipad for wireless presentations

want to use ipad2 for wirelee presentation on a 16:9 screen but if using apple tv the icon screen does not stretch to fill while video still fills the screen. can i get both to fill the screen? Or is there a way of using a 2nd ipad as a mirror and cable connecting it ?

I just downloaded Pocket Light Meter. After I turn on the additional settings, I can see foot candles , however when I compare it to my actual light meter to check the validity of the Pocket Light Meter, they are way off. Any idea how to calibrate it or to check if possibly I am doing something wrong??

How to assign a group name for TV Shows on iPad

I have some 900+ Tv shows in my iTunes Library (all recorded and encoded locally - i.e., none purchased). When I open the Video app on my iPad and view "Shared" and the "TV Shows" tab, I see only a thumbnail. There is no name displayed for the group of shows.
When I view the shows in my iTunes Library I have a name under the groupings when I view them in the "Shows" view, like this:
Is there a way to get some kind of identification to appear for these same shows when they are displayed on the iPad (Video app) under the "TV Shows" tab?
I have tried putting values into many of the fields offered by iTunes but, so far, I have not been able to get any text to appear on the iPad under a group's thumbnail. Since I have over 92 distinct groups, and since the thumbnail that's used for a group seem to be selected at rando (if at all), it is hard to pick out the group of shows I want to watch.

Is it possible to connect the iPad to an Infocus and a remote for ppt presentations at the same time?

I've always used PC and I'm planning on making the transition to Mac. That's why I'm considering buying an iPad. Today I went to Best Buys and the Mac guy told me that it isn't possible to connect the iPad to an Infocus and a remote for ppt presentations at the same time. Is that true? I'm a speaker and that was the main reason I was considering buying an iPad, so I didn't have to carry my laptop. Thanks for your help!

Cannot arrange objects in Pages for iPad

I'm creating a document in the Pages app for iPad. I'm trying to put a box behind some text but when I select the box and choose "arrange" the slider doesn't move for me to send it to the back, it's greyed out.
Any ideas please it's really frustrating, it's working with other objects in my document. Have tried several different shapes (including a stock one from within the app) and it doesn't work at all.

It's not possible to copy from the help file in Pages, but are you doing it this way? Following these instructions?

Selecting Multiple objects in Pages for ipad

On regular pages, I can select multiple objects (text boxes, etc) by holding shift then clicking on it. Is there a way to do that in Pages for IPAD?

With one finger select an object and hold with another finger select the other objects one by one.

In fact, it is listed in the devices profile file. The problem I see is the steps to production of an APP.
Made as follows:
My friend created the folios in InDesign (with your login) on another machine. Provided in a shared folder.
I already have the contents of the application. From here, I believe he should publish through the Folio Producer and then I create the Application Builder IOs in DPS app in Title citing the Login ID he used to publish the content.
Hence, I believe that would only make the Download Device and see install APP.
Is this the correct sequence?

Adding authorization object for "Function Group"s ?

Is it possible to add any authorization object for any function group ?
We have an issue i.e. whenever user "XYZ" is getting some Windows Excel related error whenever trying call an excel report from BW server. System log related to "XYZ" user shows that -> User "XYZ" has no RFC authorization for the function group "ABCD". The RFC authorization object is S_RFC.
Function Group you can check through SE37->GoTO->Display Function Group
Now is it possible to add authorization for any "Function Group" ?

You give authorisation for all function groups by giving auth object S_RFC a * value in field RFC_NAME
However I do not recommend this as giving wide access to RFC's can bypass a lot of the security you have implemented for the users.
In this case, add only the function group that the user requires in this instance into S_RFC
