Animation effects in PowerPoint for Mac

I've searched all the online help, and looked in the MS Knowledge Base, but found nothing about how to apply animation effects across ALL slides in PowerPoint 2004 for Mac. I find it very tedious to visit each slide and each component (title and bullets) to apply my visual effect and sounds separately. There is a checkbox which allows me to apply a slide transition to all slides, but I've found nothing which allows me to apply the same animation effect to all titles in all my slides. How do I do that? I've applied my animation and sounds to the Master Slide, but that had no effect on the other slides.

I've gotten a little further on this. The dynamic select is
working fine. It's the "a href" code that isn't. I'm wondering if
someone can look at this line and tell me if it's okay to build the
query string this way. The storeid comes through fine but I'm still
not getting the employeeid value to pass. Here's line that's not
    working:
    td><a href="registerStoreCust.php?storeid=<?php echo
    $row_storeRS['storeid']; echo "&employeeid="; echo
    $_GET['employeeLM']; ?>">Register
    Customer</a></td>

  • Keynote will not open in Powerpoint for Mac 2011

I followed all the instructions for saving the Keynote presentation for Powerpoint. But, when Powerpoint for Mac 2011 tries to open it, it will not open and gives me an error message indicating it needs repair; I click repair, it says there is something missing. Help!!!

There have been many postings on this problem recently. It seems that opening the exported PP in 2004 and saving it will then allow it to open in PP 2011. If you don't have an older version of PP, try to download OpenOffice or some other free office program, open the exported PP in there and then try in PP 2011.

As PowerPoint it a Microsoft product, you may find that you get better answers to your question on their PowerPoint forums.

  • Applescript to change Page setup in PowerPoint for Mac

Very new to AppleScript.    I'd like to change the Page Setup to "On-screen show (16:9)".  Within PowerPoint it is under File>Page Setup>Size>Slides sized for : On-screen Show (16:9).    I did find within AppleScript that the Slide Size is a Property of the Page Setup Class within the Microsoft PowerPoint Suite.  It is also listed under the Application Class >Command Bar Class>Command Bar Control.  The Page Setup inherits it's properties from Base Object.
I tried to manually record the process of opening a PPT file and choosing File>Page Setup>Size>On-screen show (16:9) but it only recorded the process to activate PPT and open the file.
    I wrote this script:
    tell application "Microsoft PowerPoint"
         activate
         open {file"MacBook Pro Hard Drive:Users:Patrick:Desktop:AppScript.pptx"}
set slide size to "on-screen show"
    end
I get the error "Syntax Error :  A property can't go after this identifier" and "slide size" is highlighted.
I'm stuck......Slide Size is a property of the Page Setup Class.  How should I write this ?

  • Embedding YouTube video into PowerPoint for Mac

How can one embed a YouTube video into PowerPoint for Mac 2010?  The video tutorials do not show the same Power Point (for Mac) that I'm using.  Even if I can just save (and retrieve) the file I just might be able to convert it to an MP4 for YouTube.  I've tried keepvid and it wants a valid file format.  The default is a text which doesn't work.  I've spent about 8 hours over the past 2 days trying to figure it out.  HELP!!!!!!

  • Movie files embedded in Powerpoint for Mac 2011 play audio, but only show black (no video).

I'm trying to embed a video in a presentation using Powerpoint for Mac 2011.  It successfully imports the video, but when I try to play the video in the slide it only plays the audio and black (no video).  I have tried .mov and .wmv files and neither works.  I have Flip4Mac on the machine which is a MacBook Pro 15", if that makes any difference.  The video in either format plays outside of the Powerpoint presentation and if I send the presentation to another MacBook Pro the video in the slide plays no problem.  Anyone have any ideas other than not using a Microsoft product on a Mac?

  • Problems with editing Powerpoint for Mac in Office 2011

    First time posting,
I seem to have delayed functionality in editing slides.  e.g. inserting shapes/text boxes/table etc, can be viewed, but on next slide I try the same and it is not visible, but may appear 5 minutes later when editing.  Also can not see some detail on preview, but they will then print out.  Incidentally when I send a file I have been working on to a PC, I can then see the various inserts I have made with no issue.
I have Mac OSX version 10.7.5
    3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo; 4GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
and Microsfot powerpoint for Mac 2011, version 14.4.5

As Office is not an Apple product, I strongly recommend asking in the Microsoft Office:Mac forums here:

Everyone there is a Mac user AND an Office user, something you can't say about Apple's forums. You will get the fastest help there and I think you will find the contributors more than helpful.

  • Graphics files in Powerpoint for Mac

When I try to play PowerPoint presentations originally composed in PowerPoint 2004 for Mac (v 11.3.5) on a PC, all graphics imported as pictures (for instance from web pages or from 'Grab) on the Mac show on the PC as an error. Most of these graphics are in jpeg format to begin with.
    Any solution ?
For instance, could I reverse the metafile translation process which happens when I import a PC .ppt into my Mac ?

Ensure that you insert the pictures into your presentation and do not drag or paste them in.

  • How to add effects in PE9 for Mac?

I'm trying to install some effects in my PE9 for Mac, but i didnt find the folder to add this effects?
    Where could I find it?
    Thx

They go in <your hard drive>->Library->Application Support->Adobe->Photoshop Elements->9.0->Photo Creations->photo effects. After installing them, you need to delete mediaDatabase.db3, which is in Library->Application Support->Adobe->Photoshop Elements->9.0->Locale->en_US (or your location).
If you're using lion you will need to go to the Go menu>Computer to find the library folder.

  • Can't open .ppt files in MS Powerpoint for Mac

I recently upgarded to OSX Maveriks 10.9.1 and now have Mail 7.1.
I am receiving .ppt files as email attachments and I want them to open in Micorsoft Powerpoint by default (I have Office for Mac installed). Currently it opens in Keynote and I don't want that to happen. Before I installed Mavericks i was able to do this and opened .ppt files in Keynote only if I wanted to.
Hope I have articulated the problem well and loo fwd to solutions.
    Thanks
    Rach

    Hey Rach0k,
Thanks for the question. You can configure which application will open .ppt documents by following these steps:
OS X Mavericks: Choose an app to open a document
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14279
    Permanently change the document’s app
    1. Select the document, then choose File > Get Info.
    2. In the Info window, click the triangle next to “Open with” to expand the section.
    3. Choose an app from the pop-up menu, or choose Other to locate a different app on your Mac. To download and install a new app, choose App Store.
    4. If you want to use that app to open all documents of the same type as the current document and created by the same app, click Change All.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • How do you find Microsoft Powerpoint for MAC?

How do you purchase Microsoft Powerpoint for the MAC?

With a credit card, normally, but I get the impression this isn't what you're asking.
Get it from your favorite place that sells software...?
Why do you want it? Keynote is much better, and will open PowerPoint slides. You buy Keynote from the App Store.

  • WMV Files Not Playing In Powerpoint For Mac 2011 (Lion OS)?

I insert the files and go to play them, but all I get is audio. I have tried MOV, AVI, WMV, MP4, etc, etc... no joy. I have tried Flip 4 Mac, QuickTime and VLC... no joy. When I play the embedded file, no video, just audio!
Before I upgraded to Lion, it was esy... convert the clips, inset into PowerPoint, and away I go!
