Animations lost when exporting to SVG

1. Draw a vector shape
2. Animate it by moving a vertex of the path to some other position at a frame other than 0
3. Export to SVG
The SVG will only contain the vector shapes, it does not contain the animation (SMIL elements).

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for sharing this concern. At the moment, Project ROME does not support the animation features from SVG. But, as always, your feedback is appreciated and I've noted this to our team.
Thanks!

  • Data lost when exporting from iPhoto?

When exporting photos from iPhoto, the descriptions of the photos (here bird and animal names) get lost.  Is this true, or are we doing it incorrectly?
    Thanks!
    Ed

It depends on how you exported.  To get the ITPC fileds written to the file it must be exported via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = JPEG and the two checkboxes checked:
That will embed the metadata into the exported file.

  • Formatting lost when exported to excel

When I export a worksheet results to excel the formatting is being lost like in my worksheet I wanted a line and space for every grouped item which is lost in excel sheet. Is there a way get around for this ?
    Thanks

Not exactly sure what formatting you're having a problem with, but I'll list some of the points I can think of, of exporting to Excel and will hopefully cover it. I believe you may be referring to point 1 below, but just in case ...
    1. If you have group sort on for a column or more, then when exported to Excel, you won't have those 'blank' values for the column(s) that's grouped. That's why when you know someone will be exporting to Excel, it's a pain as all group sorts are usually taken back off (which can screw up exactly what you're trying to point out in the workbook).
    2. If you have a page -> item (ie: lots of values you pull down like a LOV), then I believe, that you won't get an Excel worksheet for each value in the LOV but only for the one currently displayed when you performed the File -> Export.
    3. When you export to Excel, you only get actual values, no functions of how it was calculated (ie: it'll be static, not dynamic).
    4. You can export to Excel using Plus and might not get the formatting characteristics you want in Excel. I've seen users specifically bring up Viewer just to get the formatting characteristics (colors, fonts, etc.) when they export from that Disco version.
    5. Sometimes when you export from Disco to Excel, that actual value that gets posted in Excel is different. I know ... it sounds wierd, but it's a fact. The problem is NOT Disco, but is a problem with Windows and a setting has to be altered (although I'd have to hunt what that setting is now though). However, I've only seen this happen a few times, so definitely not the norm.

  • Transitions seem to be lost when exporting to .swf

    Hi
I am new to keynote, and intend to use it to create content for a media server that powers several networked plasma screens in my place of work.
The media server runs on Linux, but can display .swf files alongside lots of other types of media. I want to use keynote because i can mix text and images etc in a tidy slideshow format.
I have created a couple of presentations and exported them as .swf file. When I do this all of the transitions are lost and replaced with basic fades. This is ok, but it looks a bit rubbish compared to what keynote is capable of. Is there anyway around this? Does anyone know why this happens?
Thanks in advance for any help..

Oh well. That's annoying as it's one of the reasons I decided to go for iWork! Nevermind.. Any ideas on any other software that can do the same things and export to flash? I know i'm kind of describing something like Flash MX or similar. I don't need anything as sophisticated as that.. I want exactly the functionality of Keynote or Powerpoint, but with the ability to export to flash. I wonder if illuminatus does that?
    Thanks for your help..!

  • Track start times lost when exporting playlists

I have about 1500 iTunes birdsong tracks I am transferring to a new computer. Each has its own start time which I manually edited (took 6+ hours!), track by track, to eliminate a guy's voice at the beginning of each track. Now when I export the playlist and transfer the files to a new computer, all of the track info (artist, name, album grouping, Composer, Comments, etc.) shows up, but the start times (as well as 'volume adjustment' and 'skip when shuffling') are lost. It appears this information is not encoded in the .xml resulting from the playlist export. Does anyone know how I can mass export (and subsequently mass import) these file data so as to avoid the 6+ hours work redoing the track start times by hand?
    Thanks!

When you transfer a library to a new computer, do not try to do anything with the XML file.
Rather, copy the entire iTunes folder to the new computer. (If your library is not already consolidated, consolidate it first). This procedure brings over all the content as well as all the library data.

  • Source Timecode lost when exporting

    Hi,
    just a quick question:
Hwo do I keep the sourcetimecode of a clip when I export it?
I have a bunch of Red clips which I need to stabilize but when I export them I lose the source timecode of my clips, why?

Thanks Brian... I did, I exported my sss.key into an sss.mov and I could run it 'manually' in QT (clicking on the screen change the slide.. good
In QT Pro, I have an option to export this sss.mov for the web : multi-files
sss.m4v, ReadMe.html, sss-poster.jpg, and sss.mov which is good for testing it embedded into html...
this is where I lost the +manual functionality+....

  • Rollover effects are lost when exported as Fireworks HTML

I created a simple graphic in Fireworks, which has a rollover
effect. The finished symbol was assigned a LINK, ALT and TARGET in
Fireworks, and exported as an .htm file. Every slice was selected
and saved in the IMAGES folder.
After I placed the htm file in Dreamweaver, I previewed it in
Safari and FireFox. It worked perfectly. After I uploaded it to the
Web Host, however, all effects were lost.
    Here is the link:
    http://www.jlwa.net
The effects are limited to the word "enter."
If anyone sees what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.
    THANKS!

though, my experience has not been good doing the build in
Dreamweaver. Perhaps it is because I'm on a Mac...I don't
know...everytime I try that the finish result pulls apart at the
seams when viewed on a PC.
    On this page, for example:
    http://www.jlwa.net/projects.html,
the Accordion (when viewed on a PC) has horizontal gaps between
each of the Accordion's tabs, and all of the text, despite being
set at "left" justification, appears as if I centered it. I'm still
wrestling with this page to get it right.
    Thanks again - Paul
Hmm. It looks okay in Chrome, but I see it pulls apart in IE
    7. That is probably due to inconsistencies in CSS rendering between
the different browsers. Using Fireworks won't help you with that.
You're going to have to modify the CSS to account for browser
differences if you want it to address those little spaces. The CSS
for the Spry accordion element is very simple and I don't see any
hacks to get around the box model differences that I know people
use. You might ask on the Dreamweaver forum, but it certainly isn't
anything that Fireworks is going to fix for you.
Also, there are some other maintenance issues I see in your
page. Your navigation images are directly using the Fireworks
naming scheme, such as jlwa_main_r2_c2_f2.jpg. When you export your
images from Fireworks, give them good, reasonable names so that you
can maintain the code. You have a row of unnecessary spacer gifs in
your header. You should pull your CSS out into a separate file,
rather than having it embedded into each and every file. That way,
you only need to edit it in one place to have it take effect
everywhere. Give your styles meaningful names, too, descriptive of
their purpose. You have style1, style4, style5. If you want to edit
them, you don't even know what they are without digging into the
    HTML code.

  • Outlines showing when exporting to svg

When I export my AI file to SVG, the strokes show.  Image here: http://life-examined.com/ig2/share.svg.  How can I remove the strokes?  This is the same exact file exported to png: http://life-examined.com/ig2/share.png .  The png files does not show the outlines, which is what I want.  I have set the strokes to transparent.  Thank you!

Mylenium is correct. For visual reference:
The first option in the pathfinder panel is "Unite". Select an individual heart-shaped element and click Unite, and you will be good to go.

  • Sound is lost when exporting or sending to iDVD

My project has sound in iMovie (8), but when I (a) export to Quicktime, or (b) send to iDVD, the sound is lost. I presume that some box hasn't been checked, but I've no idea what it can be

Well, I did this: I made a copy of the project, and then exported to Quicktime, and the sound was there! Then I sent the duplicated project to iDVD, and the sound was there as well!
This is not really satisfying, because I didn't discover what the original problem was - unless it's just a 'feature' of iMovie 09 that some projects need to be duplicated in this way.
(By the way, I've read that there are three check boxes in Timeline view (and that they all need to be checked), but I've no idea where they are.)

  • Animations lost when published

Help! When I publish my powerpoint preso (saved as 2003 and
created in 2007) I lose animations. For example, I have
successfully used the font color change in past presos and they
publish just fine...in this preso--they are not showing up in the
published file. I probably have changed some setting, but I can't
figure out what the problem is.

  • Connection to Discoverer Plus (10g) lost when exporting workbook to Excel

I have a user who was exporting a workbook to Excel and it showed that the export failed. When she closed that box, she got a message that her Connection to Discoverer was lost.
Anyone experienced this one? Any ideas why this is happening?
    Cindy

    Hi Kevin
It will do this if you change the parameters away from the default and you have told Discoverer to remember parameter settings. This is controlled by an entry called SaveLastUsedParamValue in pref.txt on the server.
If this is the cause then its not a bug. All Discoverer thinks is that you have changed something. Even switching an item in Page Items could trigger this.
If you have users who only need to View reports why not use Viewer? You can turn off saving altogether there if you so wish.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • End of sequence lost when exporting

    Hello everyone!
I have had the problem twice that after working on a sequence for a while it leaves out about ten seconds at the end when I export. The same sequence would have exported fine earlier on. I dont have any In and Out points, although I have tried this as well without success. I have used text on top of the image, and the audio files have been edited in Soundtrack Pro, but thats all the "fancy stuff" i have done. I have checked for blank spaces in between clips and dont have any.
Please help I have to submit something on Saturday and am feeling very unhappy ;-(
    Very thankful for help

YUP! That's the problem.  FCP doesn't work well with H.264. The biggest issues are sync issues, something you might not see until you export.  The problem is that FCP SEEMS LIKE it'll work with that footage fine, it gives no warning.  Apple fixed this with FCX, making it ask if you want to "optimize" the footage...meaning convert it to ProRes.  FCP 7 and lower...didn't do that.  Thus it lead you down a bad path.
If you have H.264 footage, you need to convert it to ProREs before you start editing. Yes, the file sizes will increase dramatically, but that's what you need to do in order to work properly. Working with highly compressed footage like H.264 is difficult, takes a lot of resources. Adobe does this by having you load lots of RAM and use a graphics card that enables a special acceleration engine.  FCP 7 does not have this, so you need to convert.
The quick  solution here is to go to the SEQUENCE menu and choose SETTINGS. In the COMPRESSOR menu there, click on H.264 and scroll up to Apple ProRes 422.  Click OK.  Render the sequence (this will render it as ProRes)...and then export.

  • Links lost when exporting to INX file in CS4 for Mac.

I am working with a remote designer who is still in InDesign CS3, but I have CS4. We are both using Macintosh computers. When he emails me a CS3 file, I open it and it converts to CS4, and the links all seem to be just fine: They're missing, because he hasn't sent me the linked files, but the previews and the names of the links are all fine. But when I export the file as Indesign Interchange - INX - format and email it back to him, he opens it and all the links are gone -- they are replaced withe gibberish, and the only way to get the file back is to remember where the links were and manually re-link everything. This is a known bug, and I understand it was fixed in the Windows version of CS4 with an update. Does anyone know when it will be fixed in the Mac version? We are about to have to revert to QuarkXpress, because this is an untenable way to work.
    Thank you.

The release notes for the updates indicate that the problem was fixed. If you've applied the update, you might re-check your version number and make sure that it "took".
