I'm now receiving all kinds of weird messages that the name of my iPod is a duplicate and cannot be synced (no matter what I put in it). During the process of loading it on my Mac., a bunch of odd emails were popping up to sync. I just kept deleting and adding mine. Is it corrupted? What have I done??? I am a personal trainer and live by my iPod. Please help.

Your post is abit confusing, especially on getting those weird messages and emails,( assumed in your Windows machine.)
Most likely you have Restored the iPod using the new Macbook pro, using the same name as that in your Windows machine, hence the duplicate name warning, as it is trying to sync Automatically.
If you are syncing your iPod to both the Mac and Windows, you must set it to Manually Manage Music, in the first machine that you setup iTunes with the iPod. Read thsi Apple Support Article
In iTunes, Preference, tick on Prevent devices syncing automatically
Hopefully your music are still in both your iTunes library,
Connect the iPod to the Mac
Restore it (just to fix any filesystem corruption by the Windows end)
Set it to Manually Manage Music
Sync your selected songs in your library.
Whern sync complete, Eject it
Connect it to your Windows PC.
Select the song in the library
Sync it.
It should work if your ipod Hardisk is not giving any problem.

Press any key on the wireless keyboard after you close the MBP and it goes to sleep. The computer will wake up with the external monitor as its display. This is called Clamshell mode.

no it will not, your battery stops charging when it reaches 100%. you can verify this if you'd like to through system report - power.
once in a while however, it's best to use it under it's own power and charge it back up once it's down to 75% to keep the battery in optimal condition.

Keeping MacBook Pro plugged in.

New MacBook Pro 17'' owner here. Is there anything wrong with leaving the MacBook Pro plugged in to an electrical outlet with the USB cord? At the moment, mine is plugged in 24/7.

It should perhaps just be noted that the computer should be unplugged once in a while just to allow the battery to drain and "cycle". This will keep the battery in top condition in case you ever need it!
I'd recommend doing that maybe once every 3 weeks or so if you never, ever unplug the computer.

First, make sure that your Mac is one of the supported models that can run Mavericks

And also check that your Apps are even going to work on Mavericks or will need to be updated. Any PPC programs (Office 2004 etc.) will no longer work.

If I always have my MB Pro plugged into the power adapter. . . .

If I always have my MB Pro plugged into the power adapter, will my battery still wear out as it would if I were depleting and recharging it daily?
I tend to find a power outlet anywhere that I go in order to run my MB Pro on the adapter rather than using battery power. It's a habit that formed while using my 6 year old Powerbook G4 with about 5 minutes of battery life per full charge.
I understand that it shouldn't wear out to the same extent as running the battery down constantly, but is there still a significant effect?
Does the adapter bypass a full battery and power the computer directly?
I feel like an idiot asking this question, but I am really curious.

Trying to install the print studio pro plug in into Lightroom 3

When I look into the program files there is only a .lrdevplugin plug in and it is not the one I need to give me acess. How do I get it? Thanks I know the route in, just dont have the right plug in.

I'm having the same issue as the original poster. The latest version of PSP does not seem to be installing properly thus we cannot access it through the menu. Normally after installation it shows up in the list you show in the screen shot, but it's not showing up after downloading and installing the latest version. There should be a folder ending with .lrplugin in the PSP installation directory but there isn't one. Instead there is a folder named CNPSPPILR.lrdevplugin. I tried using Lightroom's plugin manager to manually add it to Lightroom and at first this seemed to work as it said the plugin was installed and running. And then PSP would appear in the list you show in your screenshot. However if I tried starting the plugin, I get a popup saying Windows cannot find CNPSOPN.exe. Edit: Also if I attempt to use the Print Studio Pro Plug-In Install in the Canon Utilities folder in the Start Menu, it says that a compatible version of Photoshop or Lightroom is not installed. I'm using the current edition of Lightroom (2015.1.1).

Yoga 2 Pro "plugged in, charging" even when running on battery

A few weeks ago, my Yoga 2 Pro entered a permanent "plugged in, charging" state whether plugged in or running on just the battery. The battery drains as normal, it just always shows the plugged in icon. It also charges as normal. When I turn it off, the "plugged in" LED remains lit even after I unplug the power cord. Anyone else have similar issues? I'm tempted to rewrite the BIOS and see if this fixes it. Thanks for the help!

I tried all of the suggestions, sort of. I did not have alcohol wipes, but I did take alcohol and pour some ona white paper towel and then rolled the mouse touch ball aroound and that finally cleared up the problem. Just inverting it on paper did not do the reick, it needed some help with the alcohol. Of course the probelm is the debris that gets inside and it really needs to come out.
This is a huge problem for RIM devices users too.

The issue seems to be from DB side and an SR would help you in resolving the issue.
However, added below few points you can look as well from your side.
+ DB may be core dumping in which case it would be required to resolve the core dump issue.
+ Running ASH report from sqlplus may not be working in which we need to resolve the DB side issue.
+ If feasible you can choose to upgrade DB to higher version.

ANN: Lightroom - GMail plug-in

Hi,
I’ve just released my latest Lightroom 2 plug-in, LR2/GMail.
This export plug-in will send exported images by email using your GMail account.
As an extra nicety, the addresses in your “My Contacts” group are downloaded from your Google account so that they can be offered automatically as you type into the To, Cc and Bcc fields.
There’s one caveat: the plug-in needs to connect to Google's SMTP server to send emails, and this may not be possible if you’re behind a firewall.

Photoshop SDK - Plug In - Release Mode

Hello,
I'm building a Plug In for Photoshop using the CS6 SDK for Windows (64 Bit on Windows 7, VS 2010).
I'm using optimizations which only work in "Release Mode".
In your samples I have only "Debug" mode.
How can I move into release mode?

I saw the Dissolve sample code has "Release Mode" which really enabled the optimizations and yieleded a much faster code.
The question is, how different it is from other samples, namely, How could I reconfigure other samples into "Release Mode".

In the Visual Studio Configration Manage you have to create an configuration, call it "Release" and make sure that the settings of the Debug configuration are copied to the new configuration. Then you have to change the several properties of the new Release configuration so that it outputs a release instead of a debug version, e.g. changing the run time library from "Multithreaded-Debug" to "Multithreaded" and deactivating the debug information generation. You also need to remove the DEBUG preprocessor definition in various places.
All in all, it is a complex process, so it is better if you have a project that contains both debug and relase configurations and you compare the properties of both. Then you can see which things are activated in one configuration and not in the other.

ANN: LR2/Mogrify 2.00 Released - add compress to file size feature

I’ve just released version 2.00 of my LR2/Mogrify for Lightroom, which should make quite a few of you happier…
The head-line news is that there’s now a compression feature that’ll automatically find the optimum JPEG compression value to produce the best quality image that’s no larger than the requested image size (including metadata). This is very useful for uploading to web sites that limit the maximum file size.
But that’s not all….
Watermarks can now be scaled to the shortest or longest edge, which means they’ll be the same size on landscape and portrait images.
Annotations also receive this feature, and I’ve finally found a solution to the problems with annotations containing accented characters and such like. You should now be able to add any text that you care to!

Thanks Tim - super. Just for info purposes - I used the 'Check for Update' feature from within the plug-in this morning (prior to reading the update news) which stated no update available. So I downloaded and installed it directly from your site and alls well. I wonder could there be a small bug in the check for updates feature??
