Press Release
====================
Dublin, Ireland—May 15, 2002— Inspired Limited today announced the availability of
JDBInsight 1.1 Standard Edition. The new version includes new visualizations that
set the standard in terms of ease of use and graphical communication. JDBInsight
is the only J2EE performance profiler to offer low runtime overheads as little as
2%. No other profiler or performance-monitoring tool on the market provides this
low level of intrusion while at the same time providing detailed transactional analysis.
JDBInsight analyses the access of enterprise data by J2EE™ client-, web-, and bean
containers. The analysis can encompass transaction executions, spanning multiple
J2EE™ containers. JDBInsight captures timing and execution information for enterprise
data accessed by Servlets, JavaServer Pages, Session- and Entity Beans using JDBC™
or an Entity Bean using a container's persistence engine.
Five Reasons For Choosing JDBInsight to Target J2EE™ Performance Problems
1. Minimal Performance Overhead - During performance test runs of ECperf, JDBInsight
introduced as little as 2% overhead to the runtime. Similar runs with open source
solutions showed 50% degradation in the throughput figures. Using a Java profiler
would result in an even greater degradation, rendering any profiling information
useless.
2. Early Detection - Unlike most other J2EE performance assurance offerings, JDBInsight
enables development teams to target performance from day one. Since most tuning efforts
result in changes to application design and code, it is important this is addressed
early rather than late. JDBInsight enables project management to control development
time and hardware costs.
3. Targets Biggest Bottleneck - Java profilers in most cases cannot identify application
bottlenecks even with application server class and package filtering. The information
that is provided is usually incomplete and without context. JDBInsight focuses specifically
on the expensive interaction between applications and databases.
4. Visualizes the Invisible - With the increasing usage of persistence frameworks
in J2EE™ application development, architects and developers find it impossible to
determine what database interactions are occurring. One of the biggest problems is
that the inner workings are encapsulated, thus testers are limited to black box testing,
slowing down development. JDBInsight provides a visualization of the transactional
nature of a J2EE™ application, unmatched by any other similar offering.
5. Application Server and Database Independent - JDBInsight allows developers to
identify poorly performing SQL, independent of database and trace tools. J2EE™ developers
need not configure a database for tracing, nor spend time learning different tools
for extracting traces. JDBInsight goes far beyond the sophistication of current database
tracing tools, by compacting transaction history trees and providing detailed statistics
at various levels of detail. Developers using different application servers also
benefit from the fact that the product is application server independent.

  • Certificate Requirement for Lync 2013 Standard Edition

    I have successfully run the setup of lync 2013 standard edition now I am stuck due to certificates required for lync 2013. when I generate a csr. it show the subjected urls for that.
    hostname.domain.com
    sip.domain.com
    diali.domain.com
    meet.domain.com
    admin.domain.com
    lyncdiscover.domain.com
    lyncdiscoverinternal.domain.com
    im.domain.com (External URL)
    so if I go for 3 party CA then I need 8 certicate only for internal lync. As I also need to connected federated partner and external user so I need Edge for again I need 3 more certificates
    web.domain.com
    a/v.domain.com
    sip.domain.com
    now when I go for these certificate it quit costly and I didn't understand why such certifcates required. can anyone help me to fix such requirement.
    Or, what are the necessary url to which I buy 3 party CA rest leave as it is.
    I also want to deploy Edge with single adopter as we have only one network so can anyone assist me to proceed it further.

    To save on the cost of your third party certificates, I would deploy an internal certificate authority to sign certificates for your internal front end.   For your third party certificate, you would only need the SANs for the edge and for your
    reverse proxy and as Edwin said, this can be a single cert with multiple SANs.
    For example, for your edge you would need:
    sip.domain.com
    web.domain.com
    You would not need A/V as this role does not require a SAN on your certificate.  On the same certificate, which you could also use on your reverse proxy, you'd likely want the following FQDNs.
    lyncdiscover.domain.com
    im.domain.com (your external web services FQDN)
    meet.domain.com
    dialin.domain.com
    You may also want to consider your internal web services FQDN and include the following so third party mobile devices can connect without needing a certificate installed:
    im_internal.domain.com (your internal web services FQDN)
    lyncdiscoverinternal.domain.com
    I'm sure that's not entirely clear yet, so feel free to ask more questions or what the purpose of each is.
    When you say Edge with a single adapter, you mean a single adapter in a DMZ or internal?  You definably want two NICS, both in separate DMZs, but I've managed to get the edge working with a single adapter in a DMZ before.  What you don't want is
    the edge in your internal network.

  • SQL Server 2014 Expired-Not allow the licensed Standard Edition SSMS

    Hi
      I have installed SQL server 2014 Enterprise edition Trial version, It is expired, So i install the SQL server 2014 standard edition , now if i type ssms in my server,It show , Evaluation period has expired, guide me how to change the ssms instance
    to my sql server standard edition
    Thanks & Regards Manoj

    Manoj - For upgrading the evaluation edition , the only upgrade option will be to upgrade it to Enterprise Edition. There is no downgrade path for it.
    Having said this, you can either upgrade to ENT edition or follow these steps:
    Take backup of User Databases
    Un-install/Remove the existing instance
    Install SQL Server 2014 Standard edition and restore your databases over it
    Few important considerations:
    You can restore user databases to standard edition provided you are not using any enterprise class features such
           Database Partitioning
           Data Compression
           Change Data Capture
           Transparent Data Encryption
    To know whether any of the above are enabled use this query:
    SELECT * FROM sys.dm_db_persisted_sku_features

  • 10gr2 standard edition standby question - archive log shipping

    Hello,
    I have 2 servers with 10gr2 standard edition, one is production(primary) and secondary is standby on windows platform. To keep standby synchronized i use a script to copy archived logs from primary to standby and applying manually (with scripts).
    My question is: can i use redo transport service in order to copy archivelogs from primary to standby ?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    It is a bit of topic.
    According to the Licensing Document page 10 DataGuard is not supported for standard edition.

  • Creating standby database from ASM production database in standard edition

    Hi,
    I am using oracle 10g release 2 standard edition. I recently created a database instance and wanted to create a standby database instance. After sorting out how to achieve this without managed standby and data guard I finally got it working and the shipped archive logs are applied and working well on the standby database.
    Now I am thinking of re-creating my production database and using ASM for storage managment. By doing this can a standby database still be created from a primary database using ASM? I want to be sure I can before I commit to using ASM for the production instance and manually creating a standby database from that instance.
    Note: I am using standard edition not enterprise edition.

    Hi
    For Oracle SE standby, you can visit www.anbultechnologies.co.uk , they have a brilliant product name DRMC which is Automatic disaster recovery solution with automatic failover in case primary goes down due to any reason.
    We are using this product for more than 2 years and it works like a dream using Oracle Standard Edition. We have depolyed more databases and Standby solution within the prices of 2 EE edition licenses.
    You can give ma try as well.

  • ASM Direct file access (for creating standby database in Standard Edition)

    Hi all,
    Just really looking for any opinions, experience etc. that people may have about this.
    My company are looking to set up a RAC system. They have also asked me to think about creating a standby database for disaster recovery. The first problem they give me here is that they only pay for Standard Edition of Oracle, therefore Dataguard is not an option.
    I know that one can setup "manual" standby databases with Standard Edition, automating the shipping of archive logs with hand-written scripts etc. However, as the primary here is RAC, and will be using ASM on the shared storage, I'm not sure that this would be possible (and I'm even less sure that it would be desirable!). I say this because I don't know of a way to access (using only the O/S and/or Oracle) the database files stored in ASM, and even if there was a way, I can't imagine it being a good idea..
    Anybody know of a way to tackle it, or care to contribute anything to this? As I say, my opinion is that even if it is possible to get to those files within ASM and hence manipulate them, I'd be worried that it wouldn't be such a good idea. But I'm willing to bet I'm not the first to have thought about it...
    Regards,
    Ados
    Edit 1:
    Sorry, I should state that in principal, the basic environment is:
    Windows 2003 Server
    Oracle 10g R2
    I didn't state that originally though, as I'd be keen to hear from anyone who may have attempted this on any O/S and Oracle version.
    Edited by: Ados on 16-sep-2009 9:32
    Edit 2:
    I also realise we could put the archive logs on the local nodes.. but to reinforce the point, I'm talking about having them on the shared storage where - in theory - the management is easier and more effective.
    Edited by: Ados on 16-sep-2009 9:35

    For anyone interested..
    I guess it would be done using RMAN (in fact, I'm sure of it...) in which case, I feel a lot more comfortable doing it!!
    For example:
    backup as copy archivelog ALL to destination 'c:\temp\';
    This way, it shouldn't matter if the arch logs are stored using ASM, we can now get them and "see" them.. and hence "manipulate" them (pass them on to a standby DB, for example).
    I'm just waiting to get my hands on a Standard Edition installation where I can test all this.. To try it all out (with 2-node RAC, and a standby server) I don't think I'll get a chance, so still interested in opinions, or if anyone's actually done this.
    Regards,
    Ados

    a) Does someone have any idea on how to avoid the message in red above? ( the message is normal but I just need to not want it to be displayed)
    b) archived files copied can be corrupted therefore preveting the secondary database to recover, my current solution here is to multiplex archived files to avoid a single point of failure.
    My question is to ask you guys if there is another way to prevent archived file to be corrupted before and after being copied?
    c) Technically Logminer can be used to rollback transactions in case unwanted changes were committed, as I'm working on standard edition, there is another way to rollback a change not using Logminer?
    d) I know that it's obvious using Enterprise Edition to fully configure data guard, but as cash flow is not enough, does some one give another disavantage on implementing this techninque(simalating data guard on standard edition)?
    e) What else could you guys advise, base on your experience in this technique?
    I trully need your help as I have never deal with this technique and I need much information to let know my boss in case he decided to go ahead with this.
    Thanks in advance for your help

    Does some one have any tweak on how to send archive log on remote site without using data guard feature ?

    Please help As i am running out of time as i have to upgrade TFS for that first step is to install SQL server.

    Hello,
    The following are a few things you can try:
    Copy the media to the local disk drive, unzip it (in case you are installing from an ISO file, and run SQL Server setup from there.
    Try to unregister and register the Windows Installer with the following two commands:
    msiexec /unregister
    msiexec /regserver
    Try to use Process Monitor to log the detailed error produced when the installation of dw20sharedamd64.msi fails. You can download Process Monitor from the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645
    Share with us the error captured by Process Monitor.
    Hope this helps.

  • Changing from dev to standard edition causes "Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user error code 0x6e."

    Hello,
    We recently upgrade our SQL Server 2012 SP1 (64bit) dev edition to standard edition, after we purchased the required licence and it was deployed in production.
    Since the edition change, we are now receiving the following error, with some of our jobs, which have an e-mail step in them, which is causing the jobs to fail.
    Msg 14661,Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_send_dbmail, Line 517
    Query execution failed: Msg 15404, Level 16, State 19, Server BL-SVR15, Line 1
    Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'BLUELIZARD\savaa', error code 0x6e.
    Any ideas how to fix this issue? We were also having a similar error, when executing the jobs, but changing the job owner to SA has fixed this issue.
    Thanks,
    Andy.

    Hi,
    Which user account you used for SQL Server service, domain account or local account?
    If it is domain account, are you able to log in to a machine with it?
    Make sure that the password of account is not expired.
    Also, grant the user Allowed to Authenticate permission and see how it helps.
    Refer to the below article:

  • Bug report, Beta 2.12 Standard Edition

    Bug report: redundant, confusing, and apparently erroneous calls to
    jdoPreClear
    and jdoPostLoad. Note in output the null name in the third iteration.
    Hi,
    A lot of information being sent. Sorry, but I think you'll find it
    helpful. I expected the exact same sequence of calls to jdoPreClear
    and jdoPostLoad on the 2nd and third iteration. In fact, since,
    retain values is true, and no changes are being made, I expected that
    jdoPreClear and jdoPostLoad would not be called at all on the 2nd and
    3rd iteration.
    David Ezzio
    Using 2.12 Beta, standard edition
    Business method uses one PM. Configured to datastore transaction,
    retainValues == true, non-TR == false, and non-TW == false.
    The business methods open a transaction and leave it open.
    The client calls commitTransaction() to close the open
    transaction.
    Two persistent objects, Widget and Box. Each implement
    InstanceCallbacks and put out a message in jdoPreClear ("will be
    made hollow") and in jdoPostLoad ("has been made persistent-clean").
    The Widget has a reference to its Box. The number in parenthesis
    is the sequence number obtained from the object ID.
    Business methods implementation:
    public ArrayList getWidgetsByName(String name)
    Transaction trans = pm.currentTransaction();
    if (!trans.isActive())
    trans.begin();
    Collection c = (Collection) widgetsByOneName.execute(name);
    ArrayList aList = new ArrayList(c);
    widgetsByOneName.close(c);
    return aList;
    public void commitTransaction()
    Transaction trans = pm.currentTransaction();
    if (trans.isActive())
    trans.commit();

    Abe,
    Actually, it doesn't make sense. The first iteration shows
    jdoPostLoad is called just prior to using the fields of Widget and Box.
    After the commit, the instances are not cleared. So far, so good.
    In the second iteration, we see that jdoPreClear is called, but
    jdoPostLoad is not called. Yet the values are there for use during the
    call to Widget.toString() and Box.toString() within the iteration. How
    did that happen?
    On the third iteration, now the value of name is null, but last we
    looked it was available in the second iteration. Other than that, I
    agree that the third iteration looks ok, since it is being cleared and
    loaded prior to use. But in the jdoPreClear, the values should be there
    since the values were used in the previous iteration and are not cleared
    at transaction commit due to retainValues == true.

    I believe the behavior you are seeing to be correct. Section 5.6.1 of
    the
    JDO spec outlines the behavior of persistent-nontransactional instancesused
    with data store transactions. As you can see, persistentnon-transactional
    instances are cleared when they enter a transaction; thus the calls to
    jdoPreClear. When the default fetch group is loaded again (like whenyou
    access the name of the widget) a call to jdoPostLoad is made.
    You are seeing the name of one instance as 'null' in the third iterationof
    your loop because the instance has been cleared in the second iteration,and
    the jdoPreClear method is not modified by the enhancer (see section10.3).
    Make sense?

  • Is it possible to have two Paired Lync Standard Edition servers in different domains?

    We initially installed Lync in a parent domain with all the users in the child domain. The user's SIP addresses is that of the child domain. We now have a requirement to migrate the server to the same child domain as the users. At the same time we
    need to set-up a new server to test some planned network changes. Would it be possible to set-up another Standard Edition Front End Server in the child domain and pair it with the server in the primary domain? We can then migrate the users across as required.

    Hi PanosE,
    Yes, you can set up another Standard Edition Server in child domain and then deploy pool pairing.
    You need to deploy a new Front End Pool for the new Standard Edition Server.
    A similar case for your reference.

  • Lync 2010 Standard Edition Front-End and Edge Cerificate Renewal issue

    Hi Experts,
    I have a client with Single Standard Edition FE server and 1 Edge server and both are using PUBLIC certificates. It also has a reverse-proxy server (F5 HLB) with wildcard certificate installed. The FE and Edge certificates are about to expire and the client
    now wants the ff.
    1. Internal Certificate from Internal CA server for FE
    2. External Certificate from Public CA for Edge
    What I did was,
    A. For Internal Cert - I generated a CSR from MMC cert manager using custom request from the FE server and have it signed by the Internal CA. Reason I did that was, everytime I requested the CSR from Lync Certificate Wizard, it is getting the certificate
    template not supported by the Internal CA.
    B. For External Cert - I requested the Edge external CSR thru Lync Certicate Wizard and submitted to the client for public CA renewal.
    When I installed both certificates, internal lync works fine but anything external (i.e. external lync access, mobile, federation) do not work anymore.
    So I decided to roll back the certificates and everything went back to normal?
    Question is, what steps or process did i miss or gone wrong? Hope for your response. Thank you in advance.

    Hi DaxZilla,
    You also need to request a certificate to internal interface of Edge Server from internal enterprise certificate authority.
    The certificate for the external edge interface should contain SANs as below:
    SAN=Access Edge service FQDN
    SAN=Web conference service FQDN
    SAN=SIP domain FQDN
    Mobile client goes through reverse proxy server to sign in. It is not related with Edge Server. Check the certificate on reverse proxy is not expired.
