ANN: New Oracle Repository Discussion Group

The Oracle Repository is now available as a separate download, which is ideal for JDeveloper customers who wish to use the Source Control support in JDeveloper 3.2. More information on Repository, as well as an online demo of the support in JDeveloper 3.2 is available at:
http://otn.oracle.com/products/repository/
A new discussion group for the Oracle Repository has been created. We will continue to answer questions about the JDeveloper 3.2 support for Repository here, but more general Repository questions can also be posted to this new group:
http://technet.oracle.com:89/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Oracle+Repository&number=86&DaysPrune=20&LastLogin=

This raise another question from me..
Can we execute the dbms_aw or any cmw2 package from ODP.NET?
So far, I know that most of them have only use simple data types as their parameters/return values. It should
have no different with the other internal packages..

  • Welcome to the new Oracle User Group Community

Welcome to the new Oracle User Group Community. Whether you landed here via the redirect from the previous community site - IOUC.org - or navigated here directly, welcome. This new platform brings new community features to enhance the way you connect with user group peers and with Oracle, as well as make it easier for you to find information through a more intuitive interface. We invite you to provide your feedback on the new site. Log in using your OTN Forum credentials and join the discussion here. If you do not yet have OTN Forum log in credentials, navigate to http://community.oracle.com/community, click on the "Register" link in the upper right corner of the page and create your account.
We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Kashif,
Glad you like the new Community. Communication among user group leaders works a little differently on this site than on the previous site. Rather than having communication focus around e-mail distribution lists, communication now is focused within the site itself. The intent is that this will provide users the one place to come for information, rather than having to sort through lots of e-mail threads. That doesn't mean that e-mail is completely out of the picture though. Users can opt-in to receive e-mail notifications when an individual piece of content is changed, or when content is posted to a space. Look for the "Receive email notifications" link under "Actions" to start receiving notices. To stop receiving notices, go back to the same content/space and click "Stop email notifications".
Your Relationship Manager will be talking with you and the other leaders in your region over the next few days and weeks regarding how you and your group of leaders want to communicate.
    Best regards,
    Oracle User Group Team

  • Can I use the same Oracle Repository for the new FDM App

    Hi All,
I have to uninstall FDM and install and re-configure FDM again and then restore FDM Apps present previously.
For this, Can I resue the same Oracle Repository for restoring the FDM app on newly installed instance.
As far as I know, I need to take the backup of that repository and then drop the Repository and create again and use it for new application
Please suggest, are there any other ways to do this/..
    thanks in advance
    J

You can reuse the repository. You will need to <Add Application> instead of <New Application>

  • Create new Master Repository - oracle technology exist in logical topology

I have created a new master repository using the 'Create Master Repository' function in to an ORacle database user. This was all successful and I can sign in to topology manager as SUPERVISOR.
However I notice that the physical topology includes the 'oracle' technology in the list but this is NOT present in the logical topology.
When I import our models and projects that were developed elsewhere they fail becasue they are based on the oracle technology and this does not exist in the logical topology.
If I try to create the oracle technology or import it I get an error index violation on AK_TECHNO which is the index on the SNP_TECHNO table.
In the physical topology the oracle technology is shown as being both 'physical' and 'logical' (both check boxes are checked).
    Any ideas ?

how can I find a way of admitting that this was indeed the case......................
Turned off the hide unused technologoes and there they all are - including Oracle.................
So that explains why it appeared at some point before - once some data servers had been defined etc...........
I have my dataservers and schemas loaded now in the physical topology - but they are still not shoinwg in the logical topology - I think this is due to the data server in physical not being in the correct context. When I click the physical dataserver and go in to the contexts tab and choose global I get the error message (logical topology not configured for this context).

    Thierry,
I am curious to know about Fusion. I heard that Oracle Reports and Forms will not be used from R12 onwards. Is it so ?
And anything new that we need to improve ourselves against the Fusion Application ?
Any interesting new features for HRMS in Fusion ?

  • How to delete topics from Discussions Group

    Hi
Plz help me out with this issue.
I want to delete some topics from Discussions Group.
In Discussion Forum we have 3 Discussion Groups now i want to Delete some topics from that Discussion Groups.
First of all is it possible to delete that topics in discussions.
If possible give the process to delete the topics.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Srikanth

    Hi Srikanth,
If u are using KM Discussion Group Admin iView to manage your discussion groups then its possible to delete the posts.
You can delete in discussiongroup folder in the KM repository. You can check the permission on the disucssions folder so that end users have Read/Write permission.
Or u check ur extension which was used to create:
    1) Content Admin --> Collab Content --> Room Template Admin --> Click on the SAP Standard template
    2) Click on the Extensions tab and you will find an extension called DiscussionPermission which is called everytime a room is created or a new owner is added to the room.
This extension is a program running in the background which makes sure that all the end users get Read/Write Permissions, whereas the room owners get Full permissions to the discussions within a room.
    Regards,
    Pooja.

  • I have windows 7 64 bit, Core i5, I have tried every option identified in the discussion groups but still cannot connect to the iTunes Store, any ideas?

I have a brand new Core i5 Windows 64bit laptop, but cannot connect to the iTunes Sore.  I have tried every solution suggested in the discussion groups but I still cannot connect.  This includes completely removing all security and firewalls, and I still cannot connect.  I have re-load the software in different combinations again to no avail.  Any ideas anyone?

Could you walk us through what happens (when you try to connect to the Store) in some more detail, please?

  • Can OID/IM components be moved to a new Metadata Repository?

    Hi
I've looked around on Metalink but can't find any document that suggests this can be done, but I thought I would ask the question anyway (two iin fact):
    1. Can an existing OID/IM setup be configured so as to oint to a new metadata repository? Is it possible to install a new MR and then associate the IM components away from it's existing MR to a new MR?
    2. In an OracleAS Cold Failover Cluster (IM) topology, I've read contradictory notes (or I've misunderstood). Do the OID and MR components have to be on the same box? Or can they be on different boxes?
    Regards
    Andy

  • Oracle repository in 10g

    Hi All
Is there a document or link which gives steps to install oracle repository ?
at present we have a database created on the server.
do we need to install oracle repository in existing database or create new database
    thanks
    kedar

If you mean EM repository, then you can use Database Configuration Assistant (dbca command on Linux/Unix), and choose Configure Database Options (you don't need to create a new database).

  • Create new oracle database with JAVA

    Hi!
I would appreciated it if you could help me to solve a problem that i have.
I am trying to create a new oracle database by a JAVA 1.4.2 application. I am using the scripts that Oracle 10.g supplies during the creation of a new database from the server (Generate Database Creation Scripts) with the appropriate changes, generated by a java application. Unfortunately, i am unable to connect with the database and the listener. Is there any other way to create a new database by java and how can i solve my current problem with the oracle scripts?
    Thank you.

    A) To create a new schema, you need to be connected as a user that has create schema privilege, or as tyhe user who is to own the schema (remembering that the user has appropriate create privs, as seen in the GRANT command in the SQL Reference manual). Not an issue at all, I think, if you coordinate this with your DBA. Discussed very well in the Administrator's manual.
    B) Alternately, you could create a complete copy of the schema, including all desired objects (tables, views, etc.) in a separate database and simply export the user and schema. Then simply invoke the OS-based import command (imp) to load that entire thing into the target database.
    C) To create a new database, there are 3 simple steps ...
    1) create the appropriate initialization parameter file
the init{sid}.ora file should be placed in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs or %ORACLE_HOME%\database directory. (I recommend you do not attempt to create the spfile.) Of critical interest will be setting the block size information, the control file parameters, and using the appropriate memory management parameters, based on the version of the software you will be using to create the database instance.
    2) start an empty instance, pointing to the parameter file
This will be an OS specific call, and will require that you have the correct OS environment set up as well as access to the ORACLE_HOME which will provide the software that you will invoke. In *nix you will need to call the sqlplus command with sysdba provs and in Windows you will need to call oradim to initialize this as a service.
    3) run the SQL create database command
You might want to use the dbca to create a template of the create database command, or look in the SQL Reference manual for the variations on the command. Of critical interest will be initializing the redo logs as well as the system, sysaux (if needed), temp and undo tablespaces after which you can set up the regular tablespaces, users and schemas. I highly recommend that you have redundant copies of the control files on separate drives.
You may want to review the online Concepts manual and the Adminstration Guide for some of the specifics to your needs, but I think I've covered the basics.
Remember that ideally you will only have one database instantiated on any given server as the memory and CPU overhead of each instance is significant.
    Good luck.
