  • ANNC: Deja Vu Automated CSS Page Pack for Accordion Panel Magic

Deja Vu captures the clean and simple approach to design that
    has gone into
our web sites for many years. In fact, we're sure you'll find
    Deja Vu very
    familiar.
Deja Vu comes with 5 page designs. Layouts are CSS-based,
    fixed-width, and
centered. Pages are automatically created using the PVII Page
    Pack interface
    inside Dreamweaver.
Navigation menus are powered by the latest version of
    Accordion Panel Magic
(required), which automatically highlights the current page
    link and expands
    the panel that contains it.
You'll learn how multi-column layouts can be designed in
    Fireworks and how
Fireworks is used to develop the CSS that makes your columns
    render with
equal heights. It's mathematically precise yet clear and easy
    to
understand - and kind of fun if you're a designer just
    getting into CSS.
Deja Vu comes with a comprehensive User Guide and free
    technical support.
    Additional features:
    Works in Dreamweaver Templates
    Search engine friendly
    Standards-based code

This link is pointing to a form processing script on what appears to be your local hard drive (F:drive).
    <form method="post" action="file:///F|/Coastal%20Auctions%20Website%20Live%2012_09_2009/register_a ction.cfm"
It should be pointing to the script in your Local Site Folder.
    <form method="post" action="register_a ction.cfm"
Are you working within a Defined Local Site in DW?  Without this critical first step, DW cannot properly manage site links & assets for you.
Another bit of advice.  Don't use spaces in folder & filenames.  This will create problems for you later.  You may use underscores_ or hyphens- between words but no special characters or spaces.

  • Missing? : File- New- Blank Page- Page type (CSS)- Layout is empty!!

    Hello-
I am just learning Dreamweaver CS3 and I'm wondering if something has gone missing on my installation, or if this is how it's supposed to work...
If I do File -> New -> Blank Page (then choose CSS in the Page Type window pane) ...  I then find there are no items in the Layout pane for CSS (whereas, under HTML and some others there are lists of items, though others, such as XML, in the list do have items listed.  In all, I think about 1/2 are empty, 1/2 are populated)
I've attached a screen shot to clarify this!
Is CSS supposed to be empty, or has something gone missing?  I have the book "Dreamweaver CS3 The Missing Manual" but don't find this referenced.
    Thanks for the help!

So, if I understand correctly, the CSS "blank pages" will only become populated as I begin to create CSS styles, and it's normal for this to be an empty pane until then?
You are correct, there is nothing inside of that pane and no, nothing will populate that window, even if you do create css styles  :-)
When you create a stylesheet, it will be listed in the CSS panel on the right of the working document, it will not go into that CSS pane at all.
Good to see you looking 'under the hood', it means you are willing to learn everything you can about Dreamweaver.

  • Adobe recommends: New CSS features in Dreamweaver CS5

Over  the next week, we are going to be publicizing some high-value content from adobe.com and other community sites. We have been tracking what's    been most important to our users, and feel that getting this content out to the larger community will go a long way toward helping people tackle some of their most pressing challenges.
Continuing our trip along the CSS highway, our next recommendation is a video by Dremeaver superstar Brian Wood:
New CSS features in Dreamweaver CS5
The video demonstrates some of the most exciting new CSS features in Dreamweaver: new CSS layouts, CSS inspect, and CSS enable/disable.
Give it a spin and let us know what you think!
    Previous recommendation threads:

Thanks for the answer this is very useful however I still find that Dreamwever defaults back to writing in CSS, I have to go to the manel every time and switch from CSS style to Inline style which is very irritating. Is there any way to disable writing in CSS all together like their used to be in CS3..in the preferences.
    Much appreciated

  • Develope new OAF page in 11.5.9 without applying the patch 3262919

Could any one please tell me how to develop the OAF page on 11.5.9. The following are the details of the 11.5.9.
    Version Information
    OA Framework Version 5.7.H.V2
    MDS Version 9.0.3.6.6 (build 557)
    UIX Version 2.1.16
    BC4J Version 9.0.3.10.62
    Build Date May 13, 2003
My client is not ready to apply the patch OA Framework Mini-pack 11i.FWK.H : (3262919). Is there any other way to devleop the new OAF page.
Its very urgent. Plssssssss help me in this issue.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    cheers,
    Raju

OA Framework Version 5.7.H.V2 is very old and won't fetch you even the 30-40% of the latest version's capability. Development on this level won't be so useful.
Follow Sumit's advise and let us know.

  • How to remove the search bar from new tab page?

I've added extra pinned site rows and columns on the new tab page.
The new search bar is redundant and space hogging.
Please provide how to disable in step by step instructions :)
    Edit:
    Answer
    1. Go to Firefox Profile Folder (go to about:support in Firefox then click Open folder/Show in Finder to get there)
    2. Open or create the chrome folder in the Firefox Profile Folder.
    3. Create a blank text file, copy and paste this code into the text file.
    @-moz-document url(about:newtab)
    #newtab-search-container, #newtab-search-logo { display:none !important; }
    #newtab-margin-top, #newtab-search-container { display:none!important; }
    4. Save it as userContent.css (using ALL FILES under the drop down menu)
    5. Place the new css file into the chrome folder.

Fox_1923: You're not supposed to create a new chrome file but a <b>userContent.css</b> file in the <b>chrome</b> folder.
You can use mine and <b>cor-el's</b> code together in the userContent.css file to get rid of the large margin in the top along with the search box. I've used it just fine in the latest Nightly and so have others who dislike the search box.
One thing you could be doing wrong is not setting the file type to all Files and Notepad or whatever else you are using is adding an unneeded extension (for Windows, .txt = userContent.css.txt doesn't work!)
    See this for clarification:

  • Annoying changes in the new tab page of Firefox 31

I just upgraded to Firefox 31 and I've detected two annoying changes in the new tab page.
First, the new search box, I don't need it at all because I use search engines with keywords in the address bar and I'd like to know how to remove it.
Second, I had configured the new tab page to display 42 thumbnails (6 columns and 7 rows) and now it only shows 8 thumbnails. In the about:config the settings are still as I had them but only 8 thumbnails are shown no matter what number is set.
Can anyone tell me how to solve these problems without downgrading?

You may also want to suppress the large margin at the top.
Note tha the his code should be in <u>userContent.css</u> and not in userChrome.css
    <pre><nowiki>/* about:newtab */
    @-moz-document url(about:newtab){
    #newtab-margin-top {display:none!important}
    #newtab-search-container {display:none!important}
    }</nowiki></pre>
The customization files userContent.css (websites) and userChrome.css (user interface) are located in the <b>chrome</b> folder in the Firefox profile folder.
    * Create the <b>chrome</b> folder (lowercase) in the <xxxxxxxx>.default profile folder if this folder doesn't exist
    * Paste the code in the userContent.css file

  • How can I eliminate the search field in the new tab page?

I just started using the default FF new tab page, and would like to eliminate the search field just above the tiles.
Is there a way to do this without using CSS?

Hi, the Add-on [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/?src=search New Tab Tools] will do that. (It's fine in v36, but can't be certain about v37 though).

  • MX2004 - CS4 : can't see new CSS outlining

I got out of the stone age and got CS4 mainly for graphic workflow and easier integration with DW. What sold me is being able to see the outlining CS4 shows with CSS.
But when I brought in all my websites and opened them it pretty much display as MX did although of course there's live view etc. BUT there's no outlining around all the CSS page content and there's no tree when I view the CSS files.
I  mainly used MX2004 for hand coding since its so old and all the site render properly in the browsers. Why won't they take advantage of the new features in DWCS4? Is it because they were created in MX? It shouldn't matter to the CSS should it?

You toggle the CSS visual layout aids on/off: View > Visual Aids
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/10.0_Using/WScbb6b82af5544594822510a94ae8d65-7de4a .html
I also make extensive use of Firebug in Firefox to see which rule is affecting which element in the layout.
When you say there's no CSS tree, are you referring to the CSS Panel in DW or the Code in Code View or something else?

  • Create a new css rule

    Hi
If I place my curser over a div tag in the code window why in the New Css rule
window, in the option "choose where this rule will be defined" do I sometimes only
have the option of this document only and others the choice of any attached css file?
    thanks
    Ian

    Hi
    perhaps I wasn't clear apologies.
If I go to a web page and place my curser in the middle of <div id="masthead>
and then in the css styles panel select "new css rule" when the window opens by default
    it normaly says:-
    Rule definition...
Choose where your rule will be defined
and then it shows my current cssfile name with a drop downbox for any other
attatched sheets. As in the tabs at the top of the window
However some times when I do this the box listing my css files only lists in "this document only"
and selecting the drop down box shows no other css files. But the css files are shown on the tabs
at the top opf the screen
I wondered if anyone had any idea as to why?
    thanks
    Ian
