    A colorful starter image from our Challenge host, Grant. Let's see what everyone did with it this week.
    Alex: An interesting trio. I like the way you substituted the vase/shade from last week (thanks for the credit) and #3 is the "cat's meow". Isn't that the castle from the Gnome challenge from several weeks ago?
    Anne: A nice framing job in #1. How was that done? Love the flying bits and pieces in #2. I think the flying shingle in the middle is a nice detail.
    Ben: Great canvas look to your entry. Is that the texturizer filter?
    Bill: Is that a storm shelter door? I like the way you have enlarged the area and reshingled the rest of the house.
    Bob: By and by, Lord in your #1. I was reminded of crop circles when I first saw it. Is that you in #2-I see a camera in hand. I love the faded image and the golden tint of the shingles.
    Cathy: Great effect with the quilt keeping the texture and repeating the patterns in #1. I like the re-arrangement of the elements in your second window in #2.
    Celia: Like the stained glass look of #1, but I really like the flowing patterns of #2. How was that done?
    Charles:The red really catches the eye; I like the framing of the canyon scene with the window frame.
    Jack: A nice three-dimensional house, very well done. Nice way to work the challenge colors into the details of the model.
    John: Effective way to replace panes of the original with the pictures in #1. How did you create the circular part of your #2. Very good job on getting the sides square and the "floor" flat. I always have trouble with my perspective drawings.
    Malcolm: Nice way to blend the Mondrian style with the challenge elements.
    Marilyn: The lamp chimney and flame adds an old-fashioned, country look to your entry. I'm sure the flowers are as fragrant as they are beautiful.
    Nancy: I like the frame and the way you've added the texture to the image-how was this done?
    Pat: Nice use of the umbrellas to add a different dimension to the challenge entry. Love the floor idea in #2 and the replacement scene of the window.
    Red Sky: Great effect in your #1 depot shot-please tell us how this was done. I laughed out loud with your rest stop in #2 and #3.
    Rita: Wow, what a burst of color behind your globe-would you mind sharing your technique? Any signifigance to the wrench or is that a spanner outside the US?
    Steve: What a creative idea to turn the wood pieces into book titles. Must have taken a lot of time to type and align the various titles. I think "Bermuda Triangle" is my favorite.
    Susan: I like the "building block" in your #1, but the topiary couple in #2 "leaves" me speechless. What a great interpretation.
    Tab: Your usual great work. I love the framing technique with the shingles.
    Tracy: An exhibit worthy of any museum. Is that you behind the camera?
    Tricia: What a creative idea to turn the challenge into a flag. Love the wiggly, wavy addition. Likely a voter's favorite if we took a "pole".
    Wendy: Like mother, like daughter. A nice family portrait of the Frames' family in #1. Great box in your #2; I remember saying you had a new tutorial on box making. I am guessing this is from that tutorial.

    documentation...i use captivate for online tutorials, but from what
    i'm hearing the captivate team has been disbanded by adobe and
    they've outsourced the 'development' of future releases to india.
    buyer beware.

    A Video Yearbook is your best bet, you can use the students to help you create it.
    A local guy here cut a deal with the school districts. he would purchase a bunch of equipment on his own (semi-pro cameras, edit systems, switchers, audio equipment, etc). For no cost, he teaches the kids how to use the equipment and the kids then shoot the sporting events, pep-assembies, dances, etc. he even teaches them how to do multi-camera, live switching coverage of events.
    At the end of the year he takes all the footage and the kids help him complile it into about a 3 hour year-in-review video yearbook.
    He makes all his income from the DVDs. Start doing some math here. 2000 kids per school, $50-75 per DVD, 5 schools. And the stuff isn't crap either, the quality is really good!

  • About job postings for Oracle Developers Please Help.

    Hi to all.
    This is not a specific doubt about development, is for employment.
    This is not a Job Posting.
    I have 2 years of experience developing in Oracle FOrms (Web ann C/s),with
    another tools (like Jdeveloper),etc with a Bachellor degree in System - Engenering
    Here in my country(Peru) the pay per hour is almost 5.9 to 6 US$ (a total per mounth is
    between 1000 and 950 US$).
    As you can see the standar level of salary is very low.
    Even that level is considered "high" for our standars. (A Visual Basic /Sql-Server developer gets a 4.00 uS$ per hour).
    I have seen (in the Oracle job postings page) amounts like 60 -50 US$ per hour for Oracle Developers.
    So I have some questions for you , the real people who works in Oracle enviroments.
    -That amounts per hour are really true?.
    -IF its true (in countries like USA or CANADA) how much can I save ,having a normal life?
    -In have passed the first OCP Exam,(3 left), but it is really necesary to get well-payed a Job?
    -There are some many enterprises recruiting foreigners for IT jobs but (if somebody knows...),there are some good ones and the bad ones.Have you been heared about the bad ones,, and who are they??
    Please I need your feedback.
    Its very important to me any suggestion or comment because I'm planning to work outside.
    Thanks for your attention.

  • Stats  job in Oracle 11g

    During installation, the decision was made to not install the stats gathering job in 11g.
    Post installation the job is not running as expected.
    SInce then we have done more research and are comfortable with the stats job running only for Oracle dictionary tables.
    My question is
    How to install it and make sure it is run at a certain time?
    I have read documentation and have issues commands such as :-
    DBMS_AUTO_TASK_ADMIN.ENABLE (
    client_name IN VARCHAR2,
    operation IN VARCHAR2,
    window_name IN VARCHAR2);
    I have verified that the stats are not gathered on dictionary tables a.k.a SYS owned objects.
    Any input will be highly appreciated.

    I have verified that the stats are not gathered on dictionary tables a.k.a SYS owned objects.post SQL & results that are proof that "the stats are not gathered on dictionary tables".
    LAST_ANALYZED is NOT a reliable indicator to determine if/when statistics were gathered.
    If/when table content does NOT change, then current statistics are still valid & statistics do NOT need to be collected again.

  • Need help with Sharepoint foundation web application stuck on "STOPPING" error job-service-instance-GUID Number already exists

    Hi All,
         I cant get to stop SharePoint foundation web app service. Its stuck on status stopping
    I have tried the following:
    reset IIS
    restarted the Timer Service
    When I try to use powershell command to stop I get the following error:

    Hi,
    It seems that the issue is in the timer job definition for executing this operation.
    My suggestion is to start the service again and delete the job definition from the error and again try to stop it.
    This might be helpful:
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/22368/is-there-a-powershell-cmdlet-to-delete-a-timer-job
    I had a lot of issues in the past when try to stop this instance after the Web apps are provisioned.
    As general rule now If I have multi-server Farm topology that has servers that should not serve Web App requests I turn off the service prior to provisioning any Web Apps in the Farm.

      CALL METHOD DETAIL_GRID->SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY
          EXPORTING
            IS_LAYOUT         = IS_LAYOUT
            I_SAVE            = 'A'
            IS_VARIANT        = GS_VARIANT
          CHANGING
            IT_FIELDCATALOG   = IT_FIELDCATALOG
            IT_OUTTAB         = BLOCKED_STOCK_TAB_ALV[].
    Please suggest.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Rajani.
      ALV require the DRYPOR(screen) for display but incase you run in back ground which have to write to spool but in spool we can only write in format of LIST REPORT not inter-active report like ALV. That why
    system cancelled your process immediately.
    Hope it helps.

  • Report Job was cancelled upon user request???

    Hi,
    My reports take more than 10 minutes to complete, most times I get
    "Report Job was cancelled upon user request".
    error, how to fix this problem? Is there any time limit inside the report I can set.
    Thanks

    hi ,
    There is no limit on the report run time. The most probable reason why you are getting the 'Report cancelled upon user request' message is the users might have hit the "cancel Report" button which is displayed when it is running in 'SYNCHRONOUS MODE'. do not hit that button as it will terminate the report. to increase the speed of returning the results by the report, try improving the sql that you use in the report, or if you have DBA rights try adding in INDEXES on the columns of the tables used by the report.
    Hope this helps
    Manoj
