I have learned that there may be an issue with upgrading to 7.0.7, selecting the "reboot later" option, and then trying to use Acrobat with 3D. The suggested procedure is to do the update and then select "reboot now" when asked. Upon rebooting your system, the correct plug-ins are copied into the running Acrobat directories and things should work properly. We will continue to investigate these types of issues with the updater, but I believe this procedure will help fix these types of problems.

Remove/Replace rich media elements with PDF Library?

I am embarking on a project and need to know if Adobe's PDF Library can accomplish the following...
1. Using an existing PDF file as a "template", find existing elements within the document (a rectangle, perhaps)
and remove that element, then insert in its place a rich media element (video, U3D file, JPEG, or text).
2. If not (1), then can i create a new PDF file and insert text, video, JPEG, and especially U3D models?

Replace cover page of PDF with applescript in Acrobat

I tried replacing a cover page in a PDF document with the following code but got a "doesn’t understand the replace pages message." What am I not getting here? I'd like to fill a folder with new covers and have them wind up replacing the covers of PDF files, or page 1 with covers that have the same file name. This is my starting point.

The initial view setting is the responsibility of the document author - if they have defined one you cannot override it.
There's an option to set a default pagination and zoom for when the PDF itself has no preference, but it makes no sense for that to allow for cover pages as Acrobat has no idea if one exists or not.

Cant open any old pdf with the adobe acrobat dc [Android]

I recently updated my adobe reader to adobe acrobat dc and since then I cannot open any old pdf files in my phone. The new ones I download open just fine, but the old ones have just disappeared. The only files I can see are those I have downloaded after updating the app and listed in the Recent page.
I tried open my old pdf files by clicking on the floating folder icon in the Recent page, which brings me to my downloads folder in my phone. After clicking on an old pdf file, a dialogue will open saying that adobe will create a local copy of the document. After I click continue, it will say that the file cannot be accessed, and ask me to check the location or the network (the pdf files were those the app listed on the downloads folder on my phone). I have also tried to open them from my phone's own download manager. It will first tell me the file cannot be found, in which I will redownload it, but then the app says that it can't be opened because it is not a valid pdf file. How can that be true when it opened just fine before I updated the app? All my old pdf files are also not detected automatically by the app, which was the one feature I loved so much about the old version of Adobe reader. What must I do to open my old pdf files that are in my phone?
my phone is a Samsung galaxy s4.

Are you trying to open the documents from the Downloads tab as shown below?
If that is the case, it is possible you are trying to open the files which were previously downloaded and no longer exist on your device. To open the files which actually exist on your device, you can go to the Internal Storage tab which exists below the Download tab. The Internal storage tab will show the folders available. Go to the downloads folder in the internal storage tab and then to the 'Adobe Reader' or 'Adobe Acrobat' folder and you can find the files there.

ANN: New layer capabilities with Presentation Asst v3 (TimeSavers add-on)

The Layer Assistant was recently integrated into the Presentation Assistant (v.3), offering the following capabilities:
Text/Symbol Layer shortcuts
Add the specified string, associated with a layer (with control over font, size and color; horizontal/vertical location adjustment)
Shape Layer shortcuts
(rectangle, rounded rectangle, shaded rectangle and circle; can control fill/border color, line width)
-- optionally also create a link that toggles layer visibility
-- optionally specify that the shape border is visible at all times, regardless of the layer and its visibility
Image Layer shortcuts
Include JPEG images as a layer
(this may also be used to set a non-printing page background tint to reduce screen glare, or for navigation buttons)
Underline/Strikethrough Layer shortcuts
Layers can be created from FM content (text / graphics) based on RGB color composition
(this does not require hypertext markers)
Layer visibility links/bookmarks:
(show layer; hide layer, show layer only, toggle layer, show next/previous layer, show all layers, hide all layers)
Specific layers can be set as initially hidden or as non-printing (through the settings files or through shortcuts)
Support for transparency of shapes and JPEG images

Because I know enough to be dangerous... I was trying to extend the two outside columns down.... Instead of just using faux columns which I have fixed since I posted the question.
The other link problem is the left sidebar links. When you go to the event photos page I have a repeat of the sidebar links that are on the newsletter page. I used named anchors on the newsletter page to link to the particular article. From the Event Photos page the links look like this:

The problem I am having is that some of these go to the newsletter page and the anchor and some do not (I get an error message saying it can't find the page). To add to the problem is that when we choose say the President's Message, when it goes to the newsletter page and the correct anchor, the newsletter page is missing all the links to the graphics... the photos are missing the graphic for the faux columns is missing. It makes no sense. When I preview the newsletter page from Dreamweaver everything shows up fine.
I do not know if all of this is being caused because I haven't posted this stuff to the site or what. I've tried re-booting both the browser and Dreamweaver, dumping the cache and still the same nonsense.
Got any ideas?

Well, I made it to the Apple store and they, contrary to the guys at B&H, confirmed my original suspicion and yours: that the drive was failing. I bought a replacement drive and am restoring my time machine back up now.
I am a bit annoyed that the B&H guys got this one wrong but I have to give them credit for underselling me rather than overselling me; I do appreciate that.
Also worth mentioning is that the 3TB Seagate drive was less than 2 years old and is supposedly still under warrantee. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of support I get from them.
So big thanks to you, Bob, for your very good suggestions. The Apple community has come through strong for me and I appreciate it.

Server Not Found.
Is this an intranet site? Did you inherit this mess? I don't mean to be rude or sarcastic but this code is terrible. I'm amazed that this is being used on a dot GOV server. I suppose if the public can't see it, it doesn't matter to the FAA that this site is a web accessibility and maintenance nightmare. 100+ redundant .styles on a single web page. That has to be a new record. If this site were in my charge, I'd recommend a total rebuild.

For those who might not be familiar with Microtype's seminars, they're always a great opportunity to learn -- or "re-learn" -- real-world, practical, and useful features of FM and PDF, presented in a logical and time-sensitive manner. I dare you not to say "I didn't know FM/PDF could do that!" at least once. :-)

How to produce PDF with typing tables?

I use Framemaker 9. I want to generate PDF files from FM. The final version will look like forms, and the client could fill in information. How could I achieve it?
