[announce] DataDirect XQuery Beta Available

XQuery offers SOA archiectures a unique ability to leverage relational database deployments to aggregate a distributed data sources that are needed to elevate an application to the requirements of Services based applications. To this end, the XQJ API enables the Java platform to query XML datasources, in concert with the JBI specification to bring all resources to bear for a successful SOA deployment.
The first XQuery component to implement the XQuery API for Java (XQJ), DataDirect XQuery, is now available in beta. DataDirect XQuery allows you to query XML, relational databases, or a combination of the two and integrate the results for any XML you need. It does not require any other product or application server, and has no server of its own making it easily embeddable into your applications. You can use the beta to process XQuery expressions against Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2, directly from within your Java applications. Get started today with XQuery and XQJ using the beta release of DataDirect XQuery. Register and learn more about the beta program at

    Hi,
why wasn't that email sent to weblogic.announce??
I'm starting to believe weblogic.annouce is truly useless since neither
service packs nor betas are announced there. What is the official way of
monitoring releases of SP,etc. from bea?

  • ANNOUNCEMENT: Oracle XQuery Is Now in Beta

As we are getting ready to roll out Oracle XQuery in the next production release of Oracle Database 10g, we have removed the outdated preview download from the OTN website. In the meantime, if you are interested in beta testing Oracle XQuery, please contact Geoff Lee at Oracle. To get Geoff's email address, add a period '.' between his first name and last name followed by an '@' sign before completing it with 'oracle.com'.
For latest information on Oracle XQuery, please visit the Oracle XQuery page at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/xml/xquery/index.html.
    Best regards,
    Geoff

I already owned 10 copies of MathScript as part of the NI Developer Suite.  All ten Serial Numbers were, and are now, currently on SSP.
MathScript was taken away from me as part of the LabVIEW 2009 Upgrade.
Everybody that owns Developer Suite and MathScript and has a current SSP has had their MathScript taken away from them as part of LavVIEW 2009 upgrade.
They will need to repurchase MathScript again.
Shame on you NI.  This is appalling and horrific.

Excuse me more words, Duncan. I need to let Andrew know that Jacob is to bridge OLE to Java, while the website he referred is to allow Javabean to ActiveX control. They are opposite things.
I hope Andrew's idea works, i.e., using JABX idea to make extension to Webutl to make webutl allow AcxtiveX controls available as Javabean in webforms.
What I am looking for this is interesting in adding Pen Ink/Guesture for our webform application users thru Tablet PCs to hand write his data onto the entry forms and sign his names. Currently it is only available in windows OS thru VB or C#, or VC++. I like to be available in the webform or better on Java appa.
I bet Oracle will do this thing for its 11i, as SAP is doing this features for its apps, Oracle cannot ignore this, thus if Oracle get this added in webutl, that's a good feature to enable webforms and its 11i.

  • Oracle VM Manager and Agent 3.3 Beta Available for Testing

We have the beta version of Oracle VM Manager available for testing. The beta software and documentation are available here.
For SPARC customers, you'll need to download the beta versions of Oracle VM Agent for SPARC and DLM (Distributed Lock Manager) module to testing the new SPARC related management features.
Please read the Welcome Letter to understand the requirements of the beta testing. We rely on our Beta Program participants to provide feedback on the usability, stability, and overall quality of our product release. This feedback will focus on your experience with the new features, product documentation, support services, and training materials. By providing in-depth feedback, you can help influence Oracle’s product direction.
Provide us information about your set-up here.
Periodically tell us what you have tried and how it is going here.

Ah, ok. But since this is to be a production system we will be installing a standar Oracle database as per documentation recommendation. In that case we should be safe... right?Yes, you would need to install SE or EE for production purposes. However, keep in mind that because XE is using the default ports, the new Database install will be using non-standard ports.

  • Image Processor Pro v3.0 beta available

The Beta for the next rev of Image Processor Pro is now available and can be found here:

The current Beta rev is 1_107.
    CHANGES
    - A number of bugs were fixed, especially in the BMP and TGA save
    panels.
    - A new check box, 'Keep Original File', was added to Step 2 in the
UI. It is accessible when 'Save in Same Location' is checked and Save
in Subfolder' is unchecked. In this situation, if you uncheck 'Keep
Original File' the script will overwrite the original files.
    - A new check box, 'Preserve filename in XMP Metadata' has been added
to Step 4 in the UI. If this is checked, the original name of the file
is saved with the property name 'PreservedFileName' in the XMP Media
Management Properties section of the new files XMP Metadata.
    - A new flag ImageProcessorOptions.OVERWRITE_TARGET_FILES has been added
to the script. When set to true IPP will always overwrite target files
unless 'Save In Same Location' and 'Keep Original File' are checked.
The default is false. You must edit the file with a text editor to
change this flag. I may eventually work this into the UI.

I tries from Photoshop and had script errors for users options and IPP log.  Will try from bridge to see if the will create them.  View image in new tab so you can read them.
Just tried from bridge fails there too.
renamed the old IPP files in user AppData\Roaming  and the script now works...

  • WTC Beta available

    Hello all,
WTC, which is product that connects Weblogic Server to Tuxedo via the
domains protocol is now available for evaluation in Beta mode.
This product has the following features:
    1. Supports Tuxedo 6.5 and Tuxedo 8.0 (which is also available for Beta)
    2. Runs on WLS 6.0 SP1
    3. Has an ATMI java interface (jatmi). Yes, tpcall, tpacall, tpenqueue,
    tpdequeue etc. from java
    4. Tuxedo clients can invoke WLS EJB's (bi-directional)
    5. Transaction support if the transaction is started in WLS (This is a
real, ACID transaction where WLS is the coordinator...)
    6. Many of the domains failover features and connection policies are
    supported.
If you are interested, you must contact your BEA reprentative because the
Beta is only available on a password protected newsgroup. (You'll have to
sign a Beta agreement - not for use in production, support only on the
    newsgroup, blah, blah, blah...)

It will eventually, but you will need a patch for TUXEDO 7.1, and that
is in the process of being finalized. If you sign up for the beta, you
    can get the details.

    Andrey,
When you define a custom type in Requirements Gateway, you have the option to define the editor to open your file with.  I haven't tested it with Calc, but if you choose the "Text" editor, and then define Writer as the default program to use for ".txt" files, I believe that it should open the file.
The problem is that navigation is not simply opening the file, Requirements Gateway will navigate to the place in the file where the requirement or coverage or section exists if you double click on one of those items.  However, it does this through the program's API (Word or Excel for example) which is not going to be equivalent to the OpenOffice API.  In this way, we can't simply drop OpenOffice in for Microsoft's product and get it to work.  The method I described above should allow you to at least open your document.

  • Beta available for older Mac's ?

I see there is a Safari for those who have Windows, but those who have the older Macs are unable to update to the newest Safari?
    Why is this?
And is there a free beta release for those with an older mac ?

Sad that this is the case, and it doesn't explain the "why" of it... but perhaps it is like many things in life, where we have to wait until we get to Heaven to understand the difficult questions in life. haha
Anyhow... I suppose I will live... or just use Firefox.
    Have a wonderful week!
