am I missing something or is this an advertisement for a
non-Eclipse-related for-pay seminar? Is that what we have come here for?

What if additionally there were labs by "Best Training" as voted by JDJ?
What if you could view the presentations, ask questions, do the labs and
hear the presentation from your home?

  • Java/Struts training

    Greetings!
I'm a developer with extensive background in Perl, C, Oracle and OBIEE. However I've never had to deal with Java. My boss wants me to work on some Java/Struts project and wants to send me to training.
I wonder if anyone could advice me:
First - what exactly classes I should take. I would assume I would have to take some Java for beginners class, and then a Spruts class?
And second - if anyone can recommend a training facility in DC/VA/MD area.
    All suggestions appreciated. Thank you!

Struts specific training may not be available, but Struts as a component of a training module would be available. Refer

  • Masters in strategic information systems with SAP modules

    Hi,
I have completed my graduation in information technology and currently working in a software industry as a software developer. I wish to pursue my higher education in information systems with integrated SAP modules . I found this course MSc in strategic information systems in the university of east Anglia impressive and wish to pursue the same . Am  I on the right track and if you have any better suggestions or courses please share your thoughts , it would be of great help to me .
    Thank you.
Edited by: DIhutt on Jan 12, 2012 6:39 AM

    Hi Rahul,
Without the SAP skillset and more importantly the knowledge-based SAP implementation experience which we provide, I would suggest holding off to this masters' program. It takes about two years to complete a full lifecycle implementation of SAP (notwithstanding that some try to squeeze it to six months). I have done SAP training in the US since 2006 and have 30 years of IT including Big 4 SAP IT consulting experience. Also, after bachelor's degree, it used to be that the university will not take you into master's program if you do not have at least two years of business and IT experience. I have had software developers (e.g., ABAP, Java) in my training class.
Prerequisites are basic computer skills in Microsoft and some business experience.

Process, etc. As it gets closer we will provide more details.

    Hi
    See my answers below
    1) Will we be able to re-use our 8.2 scripts (Functional and Load Testing) in 8.5 or 9.0, or will they require re-writing?
You can reuse the scripts as long as they don't have any VB in them, as the VB engined has been removed
    2) Will we be able to continue to write our scripts in Functional Tester and play them back in the load tester (thin client) as we have been doing.
No OpenScript separates both scripts you will not even be able to see the script in the e-load interface
    3) Are we forced to learn OpenScript and use OpenScript (either for 8.5 / 9.0 or in a soon upcoming release)?
Yes, e-tester support will end soon and will be replaced with OpenScript, OpenScript has been developed by the same team that did e-tester so changing from one tool to the other should not be difficult.
    4) Will scripts created in OpenScript for Functional Testing, be usable in Load testing or will we need to create seperate scripts again.
No, there may be support for that in the future but not now.
    Regards
    Alex

    Hey henhowc,
Kst8no1 is correct here: last week's staggered midnight opening events were specific to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare due to its Day Zero promotion. There's always a possibility other developers may choose to follow suit the future though, so the best advice we can give would be to keep an eye on our midnight opening announcements on BestBuy.com for updates.

  • Uix:train within a Struts Form v. UIX form

I'm trying to implement the uix:train component within several of my JSP's. All of these JSP's are using Struts forms rather than UIX forms.
Is it possible to use the uix:train tag within a Struts form or must I use a uix:form ?
If I need to use a UIX form, can someone help me understand how to get the tag to actually submit the form to the destination that I am specifying rather than submitting back to itself?
I can get the train tag to work regardless of form type if I don't specify true for the formSubmitted property of the train tag. However, I need to actually submit the form because there are form values other than "goto" and "source" and "id", that I need access to when going to the designated JSP.
    Thanks!

  • New XML Training Announced

Just as a heads up for Oracle users on the east coast:
A new XML Publisher Training course has been announced for New York City, NY. Previously the only course being offered in the Northeast was in Boston, MA.

    They are actually great.

  • Is it possible to create a subscription page with different options for blog, newsletter, product announcements, training events, etc?

I would like to create a subscription page for my Muse site with different subscription choices, but I am not sure if it is possible or, if it is how I should construct it. Any ideas?

    Hi
This can be done from hosting platform end. If you are using Business Catalyst to host your site , then you can use events module, campaign subscriptions , secure zone subscriptions etc.
You can create the events/announcements on BC end and then add the module in Muse page which on publish will show the modules on page.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Announce: JSTL (Standard Tags) + Struts (MVC) live web Demo (open source)

If you are starting a Java Web, you should use MVC and Standard tags,
this "kit" is a sample of "best" (at least good) practices.
It is MVC (Struts/Tiles)+JSTL XSLT DAO (Open Source Data Access Object
w/ SQL) + DB CRUD (Create update delete and SQL DLL scripts)+ J2EE
Security ( to make Tomcat run like Apache )
It is KISS (you'll see how simple and how very standard) , good
practices Free Open Source Framework to develop any web app, with the
aim of being 80% of any app, but done as simple as possible and easy to
teach. Again, everything is standard and simple. And it is the fastest,
most efficient way to develop maintainable code I know of.
Samples include CMS (Authorize content, XSLT, CMS Comments, sinkable,
single sign on, etc.), Issue tracking, + more coming.
Please download and install and see if you want to attend. Details:
              http://basicportal.sourceforge.net
I use it to teach Struts + JSTL public and private classes. I epically
teach WHY you should want to do something in a certain way, not just how.
To attend and see "best practices"
              http://www.basebeans.com/webEx.jsp
The seminar requires you know servlets, jsp, SQL, JDBC, and at least
some MVC. (a plus is if you have already deployed and MVC web app in the
              past) Oh...it is $10.00 ( but free to baseBeans clients and/or apache.org
              committers.)
To keep in touch on this join "MVC-Programmers" mail list at

To keep in touch with open source projects go to

Future plans include more docs, Dream weaver support, mail client, RSS
feeds, BLOG, Shopping Cart Store, etc. etc.
Did I say everything is standard and as simple as possible?
