  • Running webcenter Portal  based enterprise application using oracle webcenter content on the java cloud.

    And direction on how to use cloud service for a oracle webcenter application based on oracle webcenter content.
    We currently have an on premise enterprise application that is built using oracle webcenter,content ,
    ADF and connecting to OID for authentication and authorization.
    From the document I get the we can have the ADF application deployed.
    How about the migration of content.
    Can we build a webcenter portal domain?
    Can we have OID instance?
    Can we have BIP instance on the cloud?

    Hello,
    You can currently store users of the WebCenter products in the embedded LDAP server provided by the WebLogic server.
    As far as I know, BIP or OID are not currently supported in the cloud.

  • Extraction gets too slow  at nights (finding the bottleneck)

    Hi all,
    i'm loading historic data from R/3 to BW. The extraction process usually takes 15 minutes per data package, but at nights some packages takes like 1 hr.
    Can you helpme to understand in which step of the extraction the gap is ?
    Here is a piece of the extraction log form R/3, where you can see the 1hr gap:
    05:19:12 Call up of customer enhancement BW_BTE_CALL_BW2
    05:19:12 Result of customer enhancement: 100.000 records
    05:19:12 Call up of customer enhancement EXIT_SAPLRSAP_0
    05:19:12 Result of customer enhancement: 100.000 records
    05:19:14 Asynchronous sending of data package 88 in task
    05:19:16 tRFC: Data package 87, TID = AC14030C07D946E10C
    05:19:16 tRFC: Begin 07.09.2007 04:29:35, end 07.09.2007
    06:46:15 Call up of customer enhancement BW_BTE_CALL_BW2
    06:46:15 Result of customer enhancement: 100.000 records
    06:46:15 Call up of customer enhancement EXIT_SAPLRSAP_0
    06:46:15 Result of customer enhancement: 100.000 records
    06:46:17 Asynchronous sending of data package 89 in task
    06:46:21 tRFC: Data package 88, TID = AC14030C07D846E118
    06:46:21 tRFC: Begin 07.09.2007 05:19:30, end 07.09.2007
    The dotted line is the gap, i need to know what process of the extraction
    is running in there.
    Thanks a lot in advance !!

    Found it, the gap is on the extraction process.

  • WebCenter Content filter question

    Hi all,
    WebCenter Content provides the following three filter that can customize the query WHERE clause and alter the behavior of metadata changes.
    preDetermineWhereClause
    postDetermineWhereClause
    checkMetaChangeSecurity
    As the following document said, i can get the code of these three filters in NTKFilter java class in Need to Know component.But I cannot find any code about these three filters in Need to Know component.
    Is there any sample about how to use these three filters?
    http://fmwdocs.us.oracle.com/vol/doclibs/middleware/review/E29542_01/doc.1111/e26692/append_needknow.htm#CEGBFCBH
    Thanks
    Qian

    See B.4 Using the Need To Know Component
    The last is "executed when the security metadata changes on an update page, ... The filter should throw an exception if the change is not allowed."
    What exactly do you want to implement?

  • Databind method call returns null in WebCenter Content Filter

    Hi,
    I have inherited some code that has an issue and I'm new to WebCenter Content and the Filters that can be added. We have a FileNameFilter class that starts off with the code
    public class CWEFileNameFilter implements FilterImplementor {
        public CWEFileNameFilter() {
            super();
        public int doFilter(Workspace workspace, DataBinder dataBinder,
                            ExecutionContext executionContext) throws DataException {
            String service = dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService");
    However, service sometimes comes back null and then the filter throws a NPE.
    My questions are:
    1) Can anyone explain what dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService"); is doing and why it could come back as null
    2) Can anyone provide any links to documentation that explains Filters and a bit more about the DataBinder object as the JavaDoc isn't much help.
    Thanks
    Marc

    Hi Marc,
    Below code will give service name for which filter is implemented  from LocalData
    String service = dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService");
    for example below
    http://localhost:16200/cs/idcplg?IdcService=DOC_INFO_BY_NAME&dDocName=1111111&IsJava
    This will print entire response data including localdata and results which are created as part of service execution. Below is snippet
    <?hda version="11.1.1.8.0PSU-2015-04-01 00:14:53Z-r126309" jcharset="UTF8" encoding="utf-8"?>
    @Properties LocalData
    DocUrl=https://localhost:16200/cs/weblayout/groups/secure/documents/test/mhdk/mjg1/1111111.pdf
    IdcService=DOC_INFO_BY_NAME
    so String service = dataBinder.getLocal("IdcService"); will be service ="DOC_INFO_BY_NAME".
    Below blog will give some idea about filter but best place to learn or start is "The Definitive Guide to Stellent Content Server Development" by Brian Huff

  • Discussion and Announcement Services in webcenter Spaces + Active Directory

    I had successfully customized Discussion and announcement Services in webcenter spaces using the default authenticator user WEBLOGIC. And it was working fine.
    I was able to post and configure announcement and also able to create forums and threads in webcenter spaces.
    Now i have Successfully integrated my ACTIVE DIRECTORY to WLS. And now i want to configure discussion and announcement using active directory users. i am facing problem in it. I am able to login to Webcenter spaces as well as 8890/owc_discussions and also in 8890/owc_discussions/admin (jive forum admin) using AD users. i have also given admin roles to ACTIVE directory users in 8890/owc_discussions/admin under Global Settings -> Admins & Moderators .
    When I tried to configure Discussion and announcement Services in webcenter spaces it gives me errors like.....
    (1) The service did not get provisioned.
    (2) failure to authenticate the user *******, due to: Unable to connect to discussion server.*
    Do i need to make changes in keystore.properties & jive_crypto.jar ? Do i need to make a new connection in EM inside WebCenter > Service Configuration.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Have you set up ws-security between your webcenter and discussion server? If not you need to set it up to get rid of the authentication error.
    Are you setting up a single-sign on between all webcenter components using OAM? If so there is an additional step to add/update owc_discussions.sso.mode property under discussion admin.

  • Is Digital Asset management module is part of Webcenter content

    Is Digital Asset management module is part of Webcenter content?
    Then, WebCenter sites is the latest version of fatwire. Is digital asset management module included in it?

    Is Digital Asset management module is part of Webcenter content?
    Yes.
    Then, WebCenter sites is the latest version of fatwire. Is digital asset management module included in it?
    No. WebCenter Sites is a different product. The only thing available in the newest release is that you can use WebCenter Content as the content repository for Sites' content, so you should be able to expose DAM's features such as multiple renditions and/or streaming also in Sites. But you will need to license it (or get the WebCenter Suite Plus license which contains everything).

    Hi Everybody:
    I've found the solution. It was necessary to fill the roles on the Front End. However, this step is not mentioned on the GRC 10.1 Security guide, only in 10.0.

  • Is it possible to change the path of the JSESSIONID in WebCenter Content (formerly UCM)?

    We are having problems with multiple portal applications, spaces, and WebCenter Content all using JSESSIONID. I know you cannot change the name or path of the cookie in spaces and I know how it can be changed in the apps. I also know that Oracle do not recommend changing the name in UCM, which would be OK if we could change the path from "/" to something else...say "/cs". I have not been able to find a way to do this so any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Bill ,
    I think the details in the following link will help you achieve this :

  • Cannot find api to implement RIDC connect WebCenter Content Server over SSL

    Hi WebCenter Content team,
    I find the following sample code from http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10807/c23_ridc.htm#BJFIHEHI
    Example 23-6 IDC Protocol over SSL
    +// build a secure IDC client as cast to specific type+
    IntradocClient idcClient = (IntradocClient)
    manager.createClient("idcs://localhost:4443");
    +// set the SSL socket options+
    config.setKeystoreFile("ketstore/client_keystore");  //location of keystore file
    config.setKeystorePassword ("password");      // keystore password
    config.setKeystoreAlias("SecureClient");  //keystore alias
    config.setKeystoreAliasPassword("password");  //password for keystore alias
    I downloaded RIDC package from Individual Component Downloads in http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/content/downloads/index.html.
    But cannot find the above methods in IdcClientConfig and its subclasses. For example, cannot compile the following code.
    IdcClientConfig config = idcClient.getConfig();
    config.setKeystoreFile("ketstore/client_keystore");  // no such method
    Could you please give a correct example.
    Thanks a lot.

    Most likely the port. RIDC listens usually at 4444, 16200 is the port for browser-based communication.

  • Advisor Webcast Feb 13th - Overview of the Database Service Cloud

    +++ Interesting for all APEX and SQL Developer experts +++
    LIVE Advisor Webcast Wednesday, Feb 13th
    Iloon Ellen-Wolff (Oracle) will give an "*Overview of the Database Service Cloud*".
    The session consists of presentation and live demo, certainly there is room for questions and answers.
    For more information - schedule, registration, session details - please check [Note 1508670.1|http://support.oracle.com/rs?type=doc&id=1508670.1]

    Hi,
    no, you got it wrong:
    Oracle uses network services which are a logical representation of the database to resolve network requests.
    in your ntsnames.ora file you have the following:
    network_alias = my_alias -- here you can write anything you just need to resolve it correctly
    (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS=
    (PROTOCOL=TCP)
    (host=hostname or IP)
    (port=listener adapter port)
    ) -- this a complete socket information of the listener adapter!!
    (CONNECT_DATA=
    (SERVICE=your_service) -- this is what you tell the listener about the service you want to connect to. It is defined in the instance with the paramter service_names
    In general it is network aliasses which are resolved with connect descriptor in the tnsnames.ora.
    A connect decriptor consists of the address part + the connect_data part.
    The address part is used to reach the listener.
    The connect_data part is the information you hand over to the listener.
    So the listener must know the service name.
    The listener can either know this from the instance itself. When an Oracle instance is started it tries to registrer itself with a listener which listens on port 1521 for the protocol TCP.
    The instance tell this listener two paramater values: INSTANCE_NAME and SERVICE_NAMES. Then the listener knows the instance and which services are defined. It is just a reprentation of the database to the listener.
    If the listerner knows the service requested with a connect, it can establish a connection to a service handler. This could be a dedicated server process or a dispatcher.
    Another mehtod to let the listener know the service requested is so called static regustration of the instance. This is made with an SID LIST in the listener.ora file.
    Then the listener knows SID for the instance plus ORACLE_HOME and can find the executable to start a server process for a connect request.
    Hope it helps a little-.
    =;-)
    If you have further questions pls do not hesitate to ask. O.K.?

  • Unable to find the content of data source into infosource

    Hi
    I have successfully created a source system in BW and have activated the business contents but I am unable to find the data source contents in infosource. I have replicated the metadata also but uanble to get?  are there any steps to transfer the data from datasource to infosource.?

    after the replication, you'll only see the datasources under the node datasources. you need to map a datasource with an infosource (3.5). in bi7 this is not necessary anymore...
    but for these kind of basic questions, you should really search the forum before posting a thread.
