I already owned 10 copies of MathScript as part of the NI Developer Suite. All ten Serial Numbers were, and are now, currently on SSP.
MathScript was taken away from me as part of the LabVIEW 2009 Upgrade.
Everybody that owns Developer Suite and MathScript and has a current SSP has had their MathScript taken away from them as part of LavVIEW 2009 upgrade.
They will need to repurchase MathScript again.
Shame on you NI. This is appalling and horrific.

Check your .\lib\XSQLConfig.xml file.
This error just means that your
<connection name="demo">
information does not match up to
the valid settings to connect to
any database in your environment.

ORA-29540: class oracle/xquery/OXQServer does not exist

I'm running 10g and initially had a problem when running XMTABLE that the error :-
"identifier 'SYS.DBMS_XQUERYINT' must be declared"
came up when I tried to execute anything relating to XQUERY
One of our DBAs very kindly looked into this and found the script :-
"$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/initxqry.sql"
This was executed, but now I get the error :-
ORA-29540: class oracle/xquery/OXQServer does not exist
Does anyone know what I am still missing out?

So what your saying is that if i really need to run
oracle9i on my vista home premium i should just go
ahead and dual boot my laptop with MS windows XP?You must use a certified OS, 9i has never been supported for windows vista, and most probably it won't be supported. If you want to install an RDBMS you should install at least 10.2.0.3.0, as stated on my previous post.
Vista would just be a host opertating system, in case of using Virtual Machine Software, if you are planning to install 9iR2, and use a certified OS as listed in the [https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/certify/certify.istore_welcome]Oracle Certify Matrix

UTF support in XML DB at Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Beta 2

I use Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Beta 2 Release for Microsoft Windows (dated 16-Nov-05) and place into XML DB XSLT-file (UTF8-encoded and contained some Cyrillic chars) and 10g XP can`t apply such transformation but when i replace cyrillic chars with latin chars - everything work just fine. Is it known bug? Can it be fixed by some reconfiguration or moving to Linux version of 10g XP? When will new release?

I don't understand why you would install HTMLDB with apexins.sql (it's a procedure to install HTMLDB for 9i and 10G EE/SE not XE)
because HTMLDB (APEX) is already install with Oracle Express Edition. Not need
to install it with apexins.sql

The format mask 999G999G999G999G990D0000 is the format mask that I selected from the software itself. I also use this format mask for a single record update. If' s ok, no error, but with tabular form with multiple record update, it shows error .I also changed the decimal point to two digits ,select from software pop-up window (this was tested in the workspace provide by Oracle). It still shows error. Last test I put the space like 1 111,111.00 in a single record update it shows error (but if I put 1 in front of 111,111 without space it's ok-no space before). My point is from user point of view.In the first time user input 100000 the software accept it. Opp! it has to be 1100000. The user comes back after submit and put 1 without comma.It shows error (in tabular form with multiple record update not in single row update). While in the first time the user do not to key any comma at all. This may makes some confuses both the users and the developers which had to check error by adding program to checking some where in Page Processing or Page Rendering.

Second, is it different than any other xquery compilers, can we use W3 instructions?

Oracle XQuery is compliant with the W3C XQuery recommendation. It is a database-native implementation that has been available since Oracle Database 10g Release 2. You can download the database from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html. Once you have the software installed, a good starting point is an Oracle By Example tutorial on XQuery (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/10gr2_db_vmware/datamgmt/xquery/xquery.htm).
For client or mid-tier access of XQuery, you can use JDBC, ODP.NET, web service, or other APIs along with SQL/XML standard functions (i.e., XMLQuery() and XMLTable()).

Unable to login to Oracle Database 11.2 XE Beta

Where are you trying to log in?
If you go to Get Started (http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950), the Database Home page should open up.
There click the APEX "tab" or red button, login if requested with a database username, and you'll get to create an Apex Workspace.

Using Oracle XQuery from Java Only

Hi,
I am interested to use the Oracle XQuery implementation to run on XML files only - no databases! Is it possible to do? Which jar file I need in JDeveloper to do that?
Does it support the latest XQuery version?

Our usecase is this :
1. There would be some BPEL template files in XML with some placeholders for runtime parameters and XQuery FLWR expressions.
2. At runtime, from Java, we would like to substitute those placeholders by runtime parameter values - would like to use the XQuery Java APIs to do that - see something similar available in Saxon XQuery parser.
Is it possible from Java using Oracle technology?

Oracle XQuery performance issue in XMLType column

Dear All,
As for oracle I'm using oracle 11g to measure the performance.
I'm using data from XMark project which is a >100MB data of XML for bencmarking purposes.
I make a table that contains an XMLType column and upload the data into that column, after doing that I try to do a query like this:
select xmlquery(
'for $i in /site/people/person
where $i/id = "person0"
return $i/name'
passing BookXMLContent Returning Content)
from Book;
The purpose of this query is to retrieve the name of a person that have id = 'person0'
My questions are:
1. Did I do something wrong with my query?
2. Is there any setting on the database that I should done prior to doing the query to done significantly better result?
3. Is there any other approach that are much better than I currently used?

First, please read the licencing terms for Oracle ( And I suspect DB2, MSFT) . You are not allowed to publish externally (in any form, including forum posts :) ) the results of any benchmarking activities. I have edited your post accordingly. I hope this research is not part of a thesis or similar work that would intend making public as you and your institution would be in violation of your licence agreeement were you to do so.
Now back to your question, how can you improve performance for XMark
#1. Can you show us the create table statement you used, so we can see how you created your XMLType column BOOKXMLCONTENT.
#2. Did you create any indexes
#3. Did you look at the explain plan output.

Hi Tom, I would guess that when you log into Metalink that you are set to Classic Metalink rather than the new My Oracle Support. On the login screen there is a radio button to make the choice, this will disappear very soon as Metalink is retired and My Oracle Support becomes the common portal for all Oracle Support Customers.
Please go to the login screen, select My Oracle Support. Access to the Community is then available via the lik at the top of the screen. Even better news is that this weekend the Community was updated to include new and user friendly enhancements.

I'm pleased to announce the availability of Oracle Virtual Machine Templates for E-Business Suite 12.1.1.
Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.1 OVM Templates Media Packs (32-bit and 64-bit) Now Available
Each media pack includes 2 OVM templates: one for database-tier nodes and one for middle-tier nodes. The templates deliver the results of a 12.1.1 Rapid Install with Vision demo database.
You can now create E-Business Suite database-tier and middle-tier virtual machines on the Oracle Virtual Server platform. On first boot of the virtual machines, administrators will be prompted to initialize the machine and E-Business Suite instance information, which then persists to future boots of that virtual machine.
Note that Oracle Virtual Server platform has been certified with E-Business Suite for a couple of years, but this is the first time we have published OVM templates created by E-Business Suite Development.
Where are Templates and Additional Information Available From?
