  • Automated tool to convert from Forms to Dynamic Page for Oracle Portal?

    Hi Experts,
We are thinking to convert majority of the forms in our portal to dynamic pages. Is there any tool to automate the conversion from Forms to Dynamic page for Oracle Portal 9.0.4.1.0?
    Thanks, Abbas

    Dear Abbas,
You seem to have two issues... ;-)
If you are finding the Forms are getting corrupt very easily, I'd suggest you go and open a Service Request into Oracle Support (http://metalink.oracle.com). There are a couple of ways where you can have these not corrupted (depeding on the Portal version you are in) and if there isn't yet a way you may get a bug logged and fixed within the next patchset eventually (improving the product functionality).
As to changing it to a dynamic page it might give you a bit more flexibility... yeah. It really depends on what you desire to do. I'd slowly start to code them in this way if your goal is this. As to the former coded forms unfortunately as I've said there isn't a strait way to do that, so you may do this slowly in time...
I hope it helps you a bit further...
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • OTN pages for gateways are broken

    Hi!
I am trying to research the various Oracle gateways on OTN. When you click on the link for gateways the page that comes up is blank.
This is URL I got to: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/gateways/index.html.
What is the licensing for gateways?
    Dave Venus

    Hi!
I am still having problems..... Here is the sequence of pages that I get:
    1. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/gateways/index-100140.html
This is the link that you sent me and works correctly. I click on the first item "Database Gateways Features Overview (PDF)" which brings me to...
    2. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/products/index.html
Which appears to be the wrong page. However there is a "Gateways" link on that page which leads to ....
    3. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/gateways/index.html
    This is the blank page.
Basically this sequence happens with any of the links from the first page.
Thanks for your help on this issue.

  • Microsoft Access plug-in for oracle migration workbench

I would like to migrate from Microsoft Access to oracle 10g,but Microsoft Access plug-in had not found on web site oracle.com.
Where can obtain the Microsoft Access plug-in?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Oracle SQL Developer 1.2 incorporates the Migration Workbench, providing users with the ability to migrate database objects and data from MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access to Oracle. Oracle SQL Developer release 1.2.1 can be downloaded from OTN - http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration//workbench/index_sqldev_omwb.html.
I would recommend that you review the accompanying documentation - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10405_01/doc/nav/portal_booklist.htm - to ensure that you understand how to use the tool for the migration of your MS Access MDB file.

  • Free Forms/Reports for Oracle 10g XE

    Hi Gurus,
I am student and would like to learn about oracle technologies. I know that oracle database 10g XE is a free ware. however for the development purposes, is there any free version of forms/reports so that i could learn development tools as well.
    Thanks in advance
    Rizi

Developer suite is free available on otn http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ids/index.html and can be used according to the OTN license (or whatever other license you might have bought of course).

  • Enhancement Request - KickStart files for Oracle Validated Configurations

Just a thought, but I would like to request that the "Oracle Validate Configurations" also include an example kickstart file that contains the necessary RPMs above the default. In addition, in the %post section, all of the OS modifications (e.g. sysctl parameters, user accounts, ulimits, pam.d mods) that need to be completed for an Oracle installation could also be provided.
I have found some on the web and from suppliers such that I have created a kickstart file that is working for me and my hardware, but my mind would be at ease if there were more "sanctioned" versions out there.
FYI -- Reading through the documentation, it appears that OEM module for Oracle Linux provides the mechanism to create a kickstart file in the bare metal provisioning features.

A good start has already been done on OTN

  • Invalid OTN Link for 9.2.0.1 EE/SE/S/P/Client 32-bit Windows Server 2003

    Hello,
The OTN download for Oracle 9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1) 32-bit for Windows Server 2003 is incorrect. This link brings you to the 9.2.0.3 PATCHSET download, and NOT the base release software.
Here is the contents of the link when followed.
    "Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)
    Download the Complete Files
    OUI220180.zip (47,405,300 bytes)

    Documentation
    Oracle9i Database Release 2 for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) Release Notes (PDF/HTML)
    Directions
    1. Before downloading, please review the product certification information for this product.
    2. Consult the release notes for download and installation instructions."
I desparately need to download the 9.2.0.1 32-bit Client. The eDelivery site only has the 9.2.0.1 64-bit release. I contacted Oracle support to have CDs shipped and they arrived today however no 32-bit client was contained inside. The sticker on the back directs you to OTN for download.
Is anyone able to help me?
    Regards,
    Steve

    Found the solution
Steve - you need to install 9.2.0.1 for NT/2000/XP and then apply the 9.2.0.3 patch to bring it to 9.2.0.3 for Windows 2003.
It's in the release notes on that page:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/B10924_01/toc.htm
    Hope that helps..

  • Where is the download for Oracle Weblogic Portal and current documentation?

The web page for Oracle Weblogic Portal has a download link, but nothing happens when I click it:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic-portal/downloads/index.html
    I've downloaded the documentation
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic-portal/documentation/index.html
which is supposed to be for version 10.3, but the dates on the documents are all from 2008. I don't see anything indicating support for JSR 286 in those documents.
Are there more up-to-date documents for the latest version of Oracle WL Portal?
    Thanks.
    Dean

    Hi Dean
Looks like that site is down. On Firefox, I checked in Error Console window and it shows some java script error like acceptAgreement is not found etc. This link did worked earlier. I hope they fix it asap. Same problem with IE browser also (java script error).
Coming to documentation, based on your link, I hope you are using 10.3.2 docs. I clicked on View Library and then select Portlet Development -> Java Portlets link and got this link: This link does cover JSR 286 stuff. For more indepth JSR 286, you can google and get more details.

  • Configuring a Apache Reverse Proxy for OracleAS Portal and OracleAS Single

I'm trying to implement my Oracle Portal 10g Release 2 with a reverse proxy (Apache 2.2) as described in this link: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13998/variants.htm#BEIFECEH without success. I have Oracle Portal, Oracle SSO,OID in the same domain and Apache Reverse Proxy in another domain. Has anyone had success using OracleAS Portal with a reverse proxy?

First of all i'm trying to configure a reverse proxy only for Ora SSO (infra tier). Here is what i already do:
    APACHE REVERSE PROXY (Apache 2.2)
    http:/proxy.mycompany.com:80
    ProxyRequests off
    ProxyPassInterpolateEnv On
    ProxyPass / http:/portal.tech.everett.it:7777/
    ProxyPassReverse / http:/portal.tech.everett.it:7777/
    ProxyPreserveHost On
    ORACLE SSO
    http:/portal.mycompany.com:7777
Here are the steps i already do:
    1- CONFIG OID
create an ldif file called setdasurl.ldif and insert as follow:
    dn:cn=OperationURLs,cn=DAS,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext
    changetype: modify
    replace: orcldasurlbase
    orcldasurlbase: http:/proxy.mycompany.com/
    then do ldapmodify as follow:
    ldapmodify -x -h portal.mycompany.com -p 3060 -D "cn=orcladmin" -w password1 -v -f setdasurl.ldif
2- CONFIG ORA SSO (as gentjan user)
    export ORACLE_HOME=/home/gentjan/product/10.1.2/OracleAS/infra/
2.1-config Apache config of ORA SSO
    vi $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd.conf
    change from:
    ServerName portal.mycompany.com
    Port 7777
    KeepAlive On
    to:
    ServerName proxy.mycompany.com
    Port 80
    KeepAlive Off
and add at the end of httpd.conf
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteOptions inherit
2.2- update DCM Repository (as root)
    *$ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct HTTP_Server -v -d*
2.3- modify SSO Server Home URL to reverse proxy hostname and port (as root)
    *$ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssocfg.sh http proxy.mycompany.com 80*
    2.4- Updating the targets.xml File
Open the ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml file and locate the target type oracle_sso_server.
    vi $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/emd/targets.xml
Update the HTTPMachine and HTTPPort attributes with the proxy server host and port attributes that were passed to ssocfg. For example:
    Property NAME="HTTPMachine" VALUE="proxy.mycompany.com"
    Property NAME="HTTPPort" VALUE="80"
    Property NAME="HTTPProtocol" VALUE="http"
    Save and close the file.
Reload the Application Server Control Console by issuing this command (as gentjan):
    *$ORACLE_HOME/bin/emctl reload*
2.5- Re-register mod_osso on SSO Middle-tier with reverse proxy hostname and port
    some needed permissions
    chmod -R 775 /home/gentjan/product/10.1.2/OracleAS/infra/dcm/
    Re-register mod_osso (as gentjan)
    *$ORACLE_HOME/sso/bin/ssoreg.sh -oracle_home_path /home/gentjan/product/10.1.2/OracleAS/infra -site_name infra.proxy.mycompany.com -config_mod_osso TRUE -mod_osso_url http:/proxy.mycompany.com:80 -update_mode MODIFY*
2.6- update DCM Repository (as root)
    *$ORACLE_HOME/dcm/bin/dcmctl updateconfig -ct HTTP_Server -v -d*
2.7- Restart OC4J_Security and Oracle HTTP Server at Infrastructure tier
    *$ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=HTTP_Server*
    *$ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl restartproc process-type=OC4J_SECURITY*
After this modifications my reverse proxy is ok.
I can access to http:/proxy.mycompany.com:80 and this redirect me to Oracle Application Server Welcome page.
If i try http:/proxy.mycompany.com/pls/orasso/orasso.home, i can view the SSO Server Home page.
The problem that i find is when i click to Login page for Oracle SSO.
    I have the following error:
Forbidden You don't have permission to access /pls/orasso/ORASSO.wwsec_app_priv.login on this server.
So, in other words i can't do the login/logout under reverse proxy. Anyone can help?
    Gentjan

I already owned 10 copies of MathScript as part of the NI Developer Suite.  All ten Serial Numbers were, and are now, currently on SSP.
MathScript was taken away from me as part of the LabVIEW 2009 Upgrade.
Everybody that owns Developer Suite and MathScript and has a current SSP has had their MathScript taken away from them as part of LavVIEW 2009 upgrade.
They will need to repurchase MathScript again.
Shame on you NI.  This is appalling and horrific.

  • Problem with creating Edit page for employees , based on otn tutorial

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I used one of oracle tutorial and create a jsf page which contain a for for departments
and a table for employeed ( I used visual and declarative development with oracle jdeveloper)
Now i want to add an edit page to my jsf project which allow me to edit an employee
to do this : I add a jsf page , I add editing form (the edit form work well , I mean which i change the data and press submit it change the data in database)
now the problem is that i want to link this two page
in a manner that when user select an employee from table and pressed edit button ,
it shows edit page with that employee as "under edit" employee
here is the link that i used to learn this stuff.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/viewlets/1013/jdev_overview_xp_viewlet_swf.html
    Thanks

Basically you create a JSF Page Navigation diagram and drag on you customerList page and your Edit Customer page. Add an "arrow" to link the two pages and name this arrow EDIT.
Then drop a button onto the CustomerList page and the ACTION property will not have a drop down list and you select EDIT (which is the name of the arrow you created).
Simple steps available using the workshop on the right hand side of the page
