  • Optimizer run did not delete Deployment: Release for stk transf. req

    Hi Gurus,
I would like to know if the "Deployment: Release for stk transf. req" is also the result of the SNP optimizer run? If not, should this be expected to disappear in the system once the optimizer run is finished because this "Deployment: Release for stk transf. req" still exist in the system even after the optimizer run. Is it normal to have this in the system? If not, what are the factors why this still exist in the system? What are the process on how to delete this?
Your expertise will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Ann,
"Deployment: Release for stk transf. req(category EG/EF)" is a deployment order generated by a deployment run and has nothing to SNP optimizer run. SNP optimizer creates planned/purchaser requsitions but does not create/delete deployment orders.
You need to run deployment with a "delete" option to delete and make the system delete the existing deployments and recreate new ones.
    Here is the flow.
Lets say you have 1 DC being sourced from 1Plant.
You have a demand of 100PCs.
    1. When you run the SNP optimizer, the system looks at the transportation lane, costs etc. Since this is 1 DC 1 Plant, the system just creates a stock transfer order at the plant for 100 PCs.
    2. Then you run SNP/PPDS planning run at the plant depending on the SNP planning horizon. Assuming the SNP planning horizon is 0 days (no PPDS run here), the system creates a planned order for the 100PCs (this can be more depending on the lot size).
    3. Then you run deployment. The deployment looks at the plant and DC, there is a requirement of 100 PCs and a receipt of 100PCs at the plant.
The system deletes the stock transfer of 100 PCs at the plant and creates a deployment order of 100 PCs at the plant.
A deployment run replaces a stock transfer. But a SNP optimizer run simply creates a planned order at the plant but does not ever change the deployment order.
    Hope this answers your question.

    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2112911
Please see the below release notes for upgrade instructions.
Release notes for the Cisco UC320W 2.2.2 firmware release can be found here.

I strongly agree with you Donald. Most other vendors kit will support this feature. The ability to add/remove dialed digits for things like carrier LCR would also be very useful on top of automatic route selection(ARS).
    For example,
    End user dials 9 01392XXXXXXXX
But the PBX actually sends to carrier 162 01392XXXXXXXX
(162 is the access code recognised by BT for Energis LCR)
    Thanks
    Matt

  • [ANNOUNCE] JSF-RI 1.2_05 FCS has been released!

    Official announcement: https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/servlets/NewsItemView?newsItemID=5408
    Blog entry: http://blogs.sun.com/rlubke/entry/jsf_ri_1_2_05

I downloaded the JSF RI from the Sun site and included the jars in WEB-INF/lib.
However, I see now why using the bea shared library would work because bea have added WeblogicInjectionProvider.class to the standard jsf-impl.jar.
Do you think it would be better if bea provided the class in a separate jar? Would it work if I just copied the class to a separate jar in my WEB-INF/lib?
Otherwise it seems developers have to use the version of JSF shipped by BEA which is 1.2_03. Almost a year old now.
              Regards

  • Content and your deployment/release cycle

Does anyone here have any best practices to share about how to integrate your content into the deployment and release cycle of software?
We are using a WebCenter Portal solution with content stored in the Content Server that is tightly related to the portal. So, if we deploy a new version of the portal to our test environment we wan t to export/import our content too, at the same time. Same for acceptance and production.
Is it still a manual task using the Archiver, or are you for example using scripts and RIDC?
A helpful link from Bex Huff: http://bexhuff.com/2009/04/scripting-oracle-ucm-with-jython

There are several ways to synchronize content from one system to another. Just here in the Czech republic we have used/proposed to be used:
    - the Archiver
    - DataGuard/file system clustering
    - RIDC
There is probably not just one right solution. In your case, where I believe you need to export increments in batches, whose size will not be that big, I assume the Archiver, or some kind of BatchLoader, looks the right tool. It does not have to be fully manual - see e.g. Building IdcCommand command file to archive from UCM

  • ANNOUNCE: Ajax4jsf version 1.0.4 has been released

Ajax4jsf is an open source extension to the JavaServer Faces standard that adds AJAX capability to JSF applications without requiring the writing of any JavaScript.
    Home Page: https://ajax4jsf.dev.java.net/
    Download Page: https://ajax4jsf.dev.java.net/nonav/ajax/ajax-jsf/download.html
Additional to the bug fixing and some framework improvement, version 1.0.4:
    - introduces the initial version of <a4j:repeat> component that is able to re-render selected set of rows by ajax.
    - adds ajaxOnly attribute to a <a4j:keepAlive /> for restoring a bean value in case of AJAX requests only
    - makes some steps toward the compatibility with IE7
    - adds ajaxSubmit attribute to the a4j:form. This allows to use many third-party components ( MyFaces tree, treeTable, paginator etc ) as Ajax-enabled
    - voids the requirement to register third party View Handlers in the web.xml instead of faces-config.xml
    - adds "layout" attribute to <a4j:include> tag, render it as <span> or <div> element
    - updates inclided by a4j:include content if navigation occurs for ajax requests

Are there any real world examples like drop down box populating values from the database.
The examples at https://ajax4jsf.dev.java.net/nonav/ajax/ajax-jsf/download.html#examples shows drop down and selectList but they are all hard-coded . I am looking for a real-word example where you use a4j onchange event to dynamically populate remaining textfields
Any pointers/suggestions to [email protected] will be highly appreciated

  • Deploying a batch file via Application Manager

    Hi there,
I have a batch file to remove an application that has several subcomponents that have their own installers and remove their registry keys as well. It works well when deployed as a package but I want to deploy it with the application manager to utilise the
detection methods and content management available there.
The problem is that when I deploy the package, nothing is downloaded to ccmcache, so the batch file doesn't run, although the Software Centre shows that is installed and the compliance on the collection is at 100 percent. Where is my batch file going?

Actually, there is no utility in the Package Manager that I can see for advertising software in the application Catalog, replacing or upgrading deployed applications with supersedence rules, detecting existing installations on client machines, limiting deployment
of applications to clients with requirement rules or managing the dependencies when deploying packages. Is there something missing from my installation?
Correct, none of those exist in the package feature set and there's nothing missing from your installation (there's nothing called "Package Manager" though so not sure what you are talking about there -- are you using a third party tool perhaps?) but do
you need any of those things to run a simple uninstall?
My statement was targeted at this statement of yours: "with the application manager to utilise the ... content management available there". As mentioned, there is no difference as far as content management is concerned between apps and packages. All
of the things you mentioned in the latest post have nothing to do with content management.
Mind you, I'm not saying whether you should or shouldn't necessarily use applications as apps have clear advantages, I just want to make sure the info given is correct and that you base your decisions based on that correct info.

  • Announcing the availability of enabling Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials' integration of Microsoft online services in environments with multiple domain controllers

In Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2, all of our online services integration features, including Azure Active Directory and Office 365, are supported only in environments that
have a single domain controller. In environments with more than one domain controller, integration of these services is blocked due limitations in the user account and password synchronization mechanism in Windows Server Essentials.
I am happy to announce that with the recent Windows August Update released on (8/12/2014, PST), this limitation has been removed.  This update adds support for both Azure
Active Directory integration and Office 365 integration features in domain environments consisting of a single domain controller, multiple domain controllers, or Windows Server Essentials as a domain member server.

  • VS 2012 Deployment Issues

One of VS2012's flaws is its limited deployment options out-of-the-box. There are many situations, where Click-once just isn't suitable. OK, so we have to use third party options: WIX XML to the rescue. But that is where problems start:
So you have a working, built, release software. You look in the corresponding Build output directory - and wow! You see a whole bunch of files - all starting with your application name - which ones should you include in your deployment package? I found that
leaving out all the files with the 'vhost' moniker seems to work just fine. I have also left out the 'manifest' file, although I am not quite sure what problems this causes. Do you need the file with the 'application' extension?
But it is even worse if your application uses properties. There is a 'properties' sub-directory in your release file. It seems that you can leave out all the files with the 'cs' extension (I work in C#).
Where does Microsoft tell you, what files of the Build output need to be included in the deployment package?

    Hi Genealogist,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
According to your description, as you said that you used the
third party options WIX XML to deployment in VS2012, I suggest you can ask the issue to wix, maybe you will get more support about the issue:
    http://windows-installer-xml-wix-toolset.687559.n2.nabble.com/.
    Since the Visual Studio General
Forum which discuss Visual Studio the VS IDE issue, I am afraid that the issue is out of support of
    Visual Studio General Forum.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Announcement: Oracle Drive Preview Release available

    Hello Portal Community,
we are pleased to announce the availibility of the Oracle Drive Preview Release on OTN. You can find all information as well as an Install/Config Technote and a Demonstration Viewlet on Poratal Center.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/content_management_10gr2.html
Oracle Drive is a powerful WebDAV client that allows Portal content management and publishing directly from your Windows Desktop:
    Key Highlights:
    - Mount the Portal Repository as a Windows Drive
    - Get Portal specific menu options to set properties, ACL information, preview content and pages, etc
    - Access the Portal repository with a command line utility
    - Search from your Windows Explorer
    - Perform Virus check on the Portal Repository
    - Work with offline content and synchronize when online
    - Edit content with any available Editor
    regards,
    Christian Hauser
    Portal Product Management

    Thanks for your quick reply.
As to further details on the .MSI and install stuff:
MSI is the standard installation packaging method natively supported by Windows, and can use native Windows tools to manage what gets installed, and the specific installation options. In this case, options mught include default connections, synchronization options, etc. To deploy this to a large group of users, it wouldn't be practical to have them each install the program manually, and have to do the first-time setup manually (selecting server URL, etc).
Also, since these options may change over time, it's good to have a way to push those changes down from a central administrative point. If the config options are all stored in the registry (?) then the Windows Group Policy tool can send these registry settings to the client when they need to change. If Oracle provided a template for the relevant registry settings, it would make it easier than manually poking aroound the registry to see which keys do what.
Lastly, if there was a command-line interface (like "odrive map <drive letter> <service>\<share>" then this could be put into login scripts, to map relevant drives by department or other rules.

It's not the best press release in the world, but Lenovo officially announced the 30-series ThinkStations today.

Feel free to ask questions if you have them.  I "think" I'm allowed to answer them now
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The differentiation between E30 and S30 is actually very similar to the differentiation between E20 and S20.
I don't know the E30 specs by heart, but in general:
    E30
-uses E3 Xeons or Core i3/i5/i7  (4 core max, 1333MHz memory bus max, 8MB cache max)
    -can support integrated video
-limited HDD and RAID support, SATA only
    -4 DIMM slots, UDIMM only
-single x16 slot for graphics, PCIe gen2
-max video card support is Q2000
    S30
-uses E5 sandy bridge Xeons (up to 8 core, up to 1600MHz memory bus max, up to 20MB cache max)
    -no integrated video, discrete only
-SATA and SAS support, support for 3 HDDs and RAID 0,1,5
-8 DIMM slots, UDIMM and RDIMM support (up to 128GB total with 8x16GB RDIMM)
-dual x16 slots for graphics, PCIe gen3
-max video card support is for a single Q5000 (can be paired with another non-aux powered card like Q2000)
Raw speed is a hard thing to quantify.  It really depends on which type of software and applications you plan on running.  If  your software can't take advantage of high core counts, then going for a low core/high clock speed CPU is your better choice (fyi, the E5-1620 clocks in at 3.6G with Turbo+ support).  If you're just comparing raw CPU clock speed, there are few advantages to buying a workstation over a run of the mill desktop.  Workstation customers have other major buying points such as graphics performance, storage performance, expandability, and reliability....and workstations can excel in ALL of these areas whereas desktops usually only hit on one or two.
