Annoying click coming from iPhone 3g's back cover

Hi,
I seem to be having a minor annoyance with my iPhone 3G.
The problem is the back cover, approximately where the bit that says 8gb when depressed, it makes a annoying clicking noise.
This is most annoying when I press the Home button, and it causes the back cover to click every time.
Is there any fix to this?

As already provided, if there is an Apple store nearby, you should make an appointment first.
You take the iPhone in, explain the problem, and if it is determined that your iPhone needs to be exchanged, you remove the SIM card and you will place it in the iPhone provided for the exchange. If activation is required which is likely since the SIM card needs to be "married" the iPhone's IMEI number, the Apple store should be able to do this for you.
With an exchange, you will receive an iPhone only provided in a white unsealed box. You don't need to take everything included in the retail box when your iPhone was purchased new since your iPhone is being exchange only.
One other thing if your iPhone is exchanged under warranty, before handing your iPhone over for the exchange, go to Settings > General > Reset, and select Erase All Content and Settings. This is a secure erase and takes about an hour or so. Make sure your iPhone has a good charge before taking it to the store for the secure erase option.

How do I retrieve deleted pics from iphone 4 not backed up on icloud or itunes?

    You don't.
    Turn on PhotoStream in iCloud.
    Settings>iCloud>PhotoStream
PhotoStream will store 1000 of your most recent photos and synch with iPhoto on your Mac.

  • Annoying Click Sound from HDD

Hi guys, a new mac user here!
Unfortunately, from the day I started using my macbook pro, I hear a very annoying click sound from my HDD.
    You can listen the recorded sound via the link below;
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1526978/20091124%20214842.mp3
If you listen 01:07 and 01:08 seconds of this mp3 file closely in a very silent environment, you will hear the sound.
What do you think about it? Any ideas for this problem?

You can watch the video at the address below and hear the sound at 10th, 14th and 20th seconds.
I really want to hear your thoughts about it.

  • Annoying hum coming from MBP 09

    Hey guys,
My Macbook Pro has been driving me nuts for the past week. Up until about last weekend, my MBP has been dead silent. I don't know if this is the case with everyone's, but it was the main reason I chose to try out a Mac instead of investing in another PC at the moment. However, there's a noise coming from it that completely negates the value of a Mac to me, and quite frankly I'm superbly annoyed.
There's a low humming/buzzing sound that it's emitting, and me being both a musician and nocturnal, it bugs the **** out of me when I'm up late working. It's not very loud; you can drown it out with pretty much any kind of noise. I don't know if it's the fans or the hard drive.
From the moment I press the power button, the sound starts. It doesn't go away, but it doesn't really get worse when I run other apps. I checked activity monitor, and there's no application using up a grotesque amount of CPU (the highest is usually activity monitor itself). I also checked iStat, and the temperatures all seem to be quite normal. The weird thing is, the fans are both running at around 2000rpm when idle.
Sorry for a long winded post, but this issue is really driving me insane.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Your MBP is still under warranty, mnfthyr, so the obvious answer is to send it back to where you bought it from and ask for another, or for it to be repaired.
It may be simply an out of balance or dirty fan. It may be a defective HD. Yes the fans always run at 2000 rpm when idle. That is their idle speed. Nothing weird there. Normally they are pretty well silent when doing so, however.
But which bit of the MBP does this sound come from? Simply providing a bit more locational information might make it easier to pin-point the cause, whether it be mechanical or electrical.
    Cheers
    Rod

  • Batch edit photos coming from iPhone 4s

I use iPhoto and iCloud to gather and organize photos taken with my new iPhone 4s. It works really well apart from the fact that when compared to pictures taken with my DSLR the iPhone photos are too "warm". I would like to make a standard adjustement of the temperature for all photos coming from the iPhone. Is there a way to do this in iPhoto, with a batch edit f.i.? If not, are there other tools that can help? I would like to keep the workflow as simple as possible. All suggestions are welcome.

  • IPhone with different back cover?

I see some iPhone 3G that has different back cover. Its white or grey on top and black on the bottom. Kind of like those griffin type of cover where you can just slide the phone in but this one has an apple logo on it. But I don't think it a separate cover because I can still see the chrome or silver around the iPhone and I dont think its a clear cover too. Is this some kind of a special built iPhone? Thanks

That's not an iPhone 3G, that the original iPhone, released before the iPhone 3G. It cannot run on the 3G network, and the back cover of the original iPhone is metal--therefore grey, and black on the bottom, where the speakers and antenna are. It's no longer sold commercially by Apple, but you can get it on eBay and Craigslist and places like that. I own an original iPhone.

  • Dropped iphone 4s and back cover has a huge crack. any way to fix the crack

I accidentally dropped my iphone 4s and the back cover has a crack, how can i fix it?

All you can do is get the broken back cover replaced.  First call would be one of your carriers shops or Apple store, other than that loads of repairers on the web. And then get your self a good quality Case for your Idevice
i.e. Otterbox Lifeproof etc saves a lot of hassle

  • Camera Roll photos from iPhone to Mac back to iPhone.

I sync my photo's from camera roll and have them automatically download into the "Pictures" folder. I recently notice that when I take a picture of say, a person, and sync the pics, when they are put back on the iPhone they are put into landscape mode from portrait.
I have tried editing the photo using Viewer rotating the pictures but I still end up with a landscape picture on the phone (by the way the photo is portrait on the computer).
What can I do to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Fortunately, yes, you can do this very easily with 3rd-party software called PhoneView:
    http://ecamm.com/mac/phoneview
Unfortunately though, the album photos stored on the phone have been scaled down to 640x480 pixels resolution. Hopefully wallet-size is better than nothing.

  • Lost audiobooks on itune from iphone 4 while backing up to icloud

While backing up my data to icloud I lost all my audio books on itunes from my iphone 4 running ios 5. How do i recover back the lost audio books.
Thank you in advance. email  [email protected]

To add the same content from the iPhone 4 backup, you can only backup and restore using the original Apple ID (iCloud) and password account.
Content cannot be transferred from one Apple ID to another and accounts cannot be merged as noted here.

  • Where are the "Clicks" coming from?

After recording a voice track file, I notice in playback that there were some occasional "clicks." They seem to occur very randomly. What might be causing this and how can I solve this problem?  Thank You :-)

    Almost anything...
and how can I solve this problem?
Without evidence, nobody can fix this. But you can help here by analysing what actually happens when a click occurs and telling us. The first thing you have to do is to establish whether it's on the recording or not. Zoom right into the click and see if you can see what it looks like. If it's caused (as a lot are) by a missing sample, then you could either have HD or data buffer problems, but if it's a continuous waveform with what looks like a pulse in it, then it will almost certainly be caused externally. If in doubt, post a screen shot of the click when you've zoomed into it. If it doesn't appear on the recording at all, then it's a fault in your playback system somewhere.

  • Random sound coming from iphone 5s

Twice today my iphone 5s has made a sound randomly. A sound that isn't even a choice I have to assign to any notification, etc. Can anyone tell me what my phone is trying to tell me?

Well, if you've tried everything, then there's nothing to do but to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.
