Annoying clicking sound between slides

We have this on all of our presentations - you can hear it in
this one, for instance:
http://breeze.quinnipiac.edu/p79364952/
I've even gone into audio edit to see if I could make it go
away. I did edit down the volume around the red line that marked
the boundaries between slides. Net result - the clicks got
louder.

Jeff,
Yes, the post-editing worked. I'd tried to do something like
that using volume control (no results), but found silence under
Insert. Silence is golden. Thanks!

    HELP!!
I've captured all of my footage into final cut express (camcorder: Sony HDR HC7) and there's an audio problem. I've noticed that final cut captures video in pieces from camcorders. I've taken these pieces, placed some I/O points on them and put them in the timeline. In the canvas, when I play the entire project, there is this 'click' sound between each clip. No matter where the I/O points are, as soon as one clip ends and the slider continues onto the next clip, this clicking sound happens. I've tried exporting the video and it's still there!! When I preview the clips in the viewer and there is no click. Please help me someone!!

    Hi(Bonjour)!
What are clips and sequence properties? (select their icon and use contextual menu to get this info).
    Did you render audio mixdown?

  • How to get rid of the annoying clicking sound of an iPod Touch Keyboard

I just got an iPod Touch and I love it but I have a small problem with it. I'm really annoyed by the cliking sound the keyboard makes when you type. It's even more annoying that you can hear it without the headphones.
Is there anyway I can lower down the volume of the clicking? I'd really like some help with this.

    John Guo wrote:
Go to Settings>General>Sound Effects. Click Off.
As a note, this will remove all of the sounds effects on the iPod, not just the annoying clicking sound.

  • Annoying Click Sound from HDD

Hi guys, a new mac user here!
Unfortunately, from the day I started using my macbook pro, I hear a very annoying click sound from my HDD.
    You can listen the recorded sound via the link below;
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1526978/20091124%20214842.mp3
If you listen 01:07 and 01:08 seconds of this mp3 file closely in a very silent environment, you will hear the sound.
What do you think about it? Any ideas for this problem?

    http://www.vimeo.com/8193758
You can watch the video at the address below and hear the sound at 10th, 14th and 20th seconds.
I really want to hear your thoughts about it.
    Best Regards

  • Won't unmute / annoying clicking sound when adjusting volume

Hi, I'm using an HP Pavillion dv5 Notebook PC.
After muting then unmuting in Windows Vista (or using the touch button) I will have no sound.  It returns when I restart or sometimes after a random amount of time.  I've had this problem since purchasing the computer.
Another extremely annoying issue is that when using the touch volume slider there will be a clicking sound to go with the onscreen graphic of the volume changing.  The clicking lags and sometimes goes on for several seconds after I've stopped touching the slider (sometimes 30seconds+ if I use the slider a lot).
If anyone has a solution or suggestion for either of these issues it would be muchly appreciated, thanks.

I have an HP Pavilion dv7-1003ea Entertainment Notebook but had the same problem which HP were unable to resolve for me. I solved it by replacing one of the infuriating sounds with a short period of silence. If you look in C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP QuickTouch you may find 3 WAV files and a program SelectiveSound.exe which if you run it will enable you to switch between the 3 WAV files.
I recorded a brief period of silence using a recording program called Polderbits but you could use any similar program. I renamed one of the 3 WAV files (in case I ever needed to revert) and saved my silent file with the original name of the WAV file in the HP Quick Touch directory. Incidentally simply deleting or renaming one of the WAV files didn't work. The system seems to remember the sound it last used. You actually need to replace the sound with a period of silence. Windows had a built in recorder in XP (C:\Windows\System32\sndrec32.exe)which produced WAV files. The similar program in Vista can be found in Start\All Programs\Accessories\Sound Recorder but alas for some reason known only to the Nerds at Microsoft this will only produce WAV files if you have Vista Home Basic. If you have the Premium version it will only produce WMA files which don't work in HPs QuickTouch.
I don't know who takes the prize for the most infuriating here. The idiot at HP who thinks its a good idea for a volume control to click at you everytime you use it or the idiot at Microsoft who decided what type of sound clip can be produced with your version of Vista. Good luck

  • Click sound between gapless tracks

So I got a CD (Demigod from Behemoth to be specific), and I'm trying to rip it with iTunes. The first two songs are supposed to flow together gaplessly/seamlessly. However, instead of it flowing perfectly like when I play the CD, the ripped MP3s (very high quality VBR) have a small "click" sound in between the songs. This has never happened to me on iTunes and I don't know how to fix it. Anyone know what to do?

If you mean checking the "Gapless album" thing in the song info, I've done that, but nothing happened.

  • Remove default "Click" sound on slide change?

My client (and myself) find it very annoying. The user knows
they've clicked the mouse; they don't need their speaker to make a
    loud popping noise at them.
Incidentally, the sound clip sounds nothing like a click...
it's closer to the sound a blown speaker makes.

I found a response to this before. The short answer is, you
can't do it within Captivate, however you can replace the click
sound mp3 in your Captivate folder with a silent mp3 of the same
    name.
Someone else came up with this and has made a simple way to
    implement it...

  • Annoying clicking sound

I noticed there has been a few posts about this but no one has said whether they actually got a fix. Did replacing the HD work.
My PBG4 is just over 3 years old (oh dear out of applecare warranty !!) and yesterday started making a weird clicking noise at random intervals ~ secs apart. Its nothing to do with sound because you can hear it with the speakers muted. Looking in Activity monitor I do not see it related to disk activity, no messages in the console log.
I would ignore it except that it interfers with listening to internet radio which I do a lot. In fact that's the only thing it interfers with does that give anyone clues as to what it would be.
    Thanks
    Anna

Is it a fast loud clicking sound that seems to be coming from the back left of the laptop? I have that with my 12" g4 PowerBook, and it is actually still in for repair as I type this. What the genius did was replace the logic board, but that still didn't fix the problem. They ordered another part that he thinks will fix the problem, but there are none of these parts in the warehouse . He said it would take 5 days, today is day 13. I'm very disappointed with Apple right now. If you don't have your AppleCare, it is going to be expensive.

  • How can I remove annoying click sound when opening new tab?

I've already goggled this and it said something about no-script (which I'm not running) and nothing else that sounded remotely close to my issue. Basically anytime I open a new tab (which I do tons of) I get the most obnoxious loud click type sound and it drives me up the walls. I can simply mute the whole browser but then many media players and the like play the audio directly through the browser instead of adobe flash or the like. I just learned it also plays the most annoying sound in the world when I use the spellcheck feature...
Any help on removing this terrible sound file from Firefox would be greatly appreciated... I would hate to have to start using chrome just to get away from this sound.
The only add-ons I use are Adblock Plus 2.6.3, Advanced SystemCare Surfing Protection 1.0 (I assume it installed itself with the actual ASC program), and Leechblock 0.6.6.
All my plugins are off by default unless I manually turn them on the add-on manager window when I start up firefox and the sound plays before I ever activate them.

Did this start when you installed Firefox 30, in other words, Firefox 29 and earlier was fine?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

  • Exported Flash files make annoying clicks in Windows IE

On Firefox and Safari on OS X I can embed a Flash file exported from Keynote in a web page and view it with no problems.
However, at every slide change in Windows Internet Explorer, there is an extremely annoying clicking sound. It seems this is by design in IE -- any refresh is supposed to generate a click, and the change from slide 1 to slide 2, etc., apparently counts as a refresh.
(For what it's worth, in IE the URL is appended with #SlideFrame_1, then #SlideFrame_2, and so on. That suffix does not appear in either OS X browser. The click happens at the transitions from #SlideFrame_n to #SlideFrame_n+1).
I want to embed the exported flash on a web page and auto-run it, but Windows users will hear an irritating click-click-click until they navigate away from the site -- which they'll probably do quickly before they go crazy from the sound!
Any ideas on how to export Flash movies in a way that avoids this, or any tools to modify the Flash file so IE doesn't think it's refreshing?
(FYI -- while I'd prefer to export Quicktime, it's only on about 60% of my site visitor's browsers, while Flash is on over 95%).

    Greg,
Have you found a solution for this problem? I too am experiencing the same problems.
    Best,
    Terence

  • How Do I find the "Disable Click Sound" property in Captivate 7?

My software simulation has very annoying click sounds from the mouse. I have seached the web and found a screenshot of an 'Options' section on the properties tab with a 'Disable Click Sound' checkbox, but my copy of Captivate 7 doesn't have that. What's up? There has to be a place to turn it off! Otherwise it's useless....the clicking drives everyone crazy.

Select the mouse on the slide (or timeline) and deselect the Mouse Click Sound check box from the properties.

  • Invisible click-sound

    Hi!
Got a huge a** problem. Just about to finish my documentary, but I can't get away a annoying click-sound.
The click-sound appears only on music, that are on different audiotracks. The click-sound doesn't appear on the original soundfile, but only after it's rendered. The click-sound doesn't appear on the visual wave-lenghts (when you double-click the track). And it only seems to appear at the end of a other overlaying audiotrack and(!!!) videotrack fade-out.
First I thought it'll only appear in the program or playback, but it also can be heard in exported versions (such as avi, divx, mov and compressed dvd formats played on a regular dvd-player).
    Please, help me. I'm desperate.
Ps. Got Final Cut Pro 5-dot-something.

Your problem might have something to do with a dodgy render now sitting in your render folder. Could you trash your renders and rerender the whole sequence? Alternatevely try to keyframe down the volume of the last frames affected by the click noise to see if it goes away. Not sure though how much that will affect the sound flow as I don't know what sound you are editing. Music?

  • Touch pad button wobble/clicking sound.

Yeah so I have had my macbook for about 3-4 months and just recently the touch pad button is getting all wobbely and making an annoying clicking sound if i just touch it (not clicking something). Its VERY annoying. Basicly what i wanna know is if i can take it to the apple store or something and get it fixed?

Do you have applecare? Problem is on something like this we can't really say what apple service will do about it. The reason I asked about applecare is if you had it you could call in and talk to apple service on the phone. With the regular warranty you only get 90 days free phone support. That is one of the reasons I am getting Applecare before my first year is up. I luckily have had no problems but I plan on having this computer for at least another 3 years applecare will be worth it. One problem after the first year and it's paid for itself. To me the phone support alone will be worth it.
    Thanks for the .

  • Clicking sound from fan

My pavilion g7 1002sa which is only 8 months old has always had an annoying clicking sound from when it was purchased from new.
I thought that it would disappear with usage, but after altering the BIOS Settings to disable the continual fan running option it is still
there. While on Skype friends have complained and described it like someone using an old typewriter in the background.
    This question was solved.

Sounds like the fan needs to be replaced. Since you are under warranty that is going to mean sending it in for repair. Call HP Service and make arrangements to do so.

  • T61 clicking sound when on battery

    Can anybody help??
Whenever I unplugged the power jack and running on battery,
My speakers keep on clicking whenever I click on something (like opening folders or browsing)
The sound gets bigger if I turned the volume up...
It's not the windows XP click sound, but it's a very annoying clicking sound..
    Any ideas??
    (T7500 2.2Ghz, NVS140m 128mb, 3GB, Windows XP sp3)

I have the same problem on my T61. I had XP SP2 professional on it for six months or so without any problems, then re-imaged it with Win XP SP3 (new install). Since I get jitter mouse move, crackling/popping audio and jittey video. Something clashes every 3-4 seconds and every time it does, audio pops, mouse blocks and video skips. It lasts about 50 miliseconds, then it moves on fine.
I'm sure its the driver/bios compatibility issue, but I cant pinpoint yet what exactly.
