Annoying overlay on YouTube app

Every video I play within the YouTube app has a screen dimming overlay with the "screen share" icon (rectangle with wifi symbol in the corner). I can't seem to get rid of that.

This icon is "Send to TV". While watching a YouTube video, you should not have Bluetooth enabled. Check the following link:

  • When I watch youtube videos, it always stop and start. Very  annoying. Any good apps that we can use.

YouTube videos always stop and start . Is there an apps that we can download to stabilize the video.

Are you trying to watch YouTube from a web browser on iPad or from the YouTube app?
Should be running fine from the YouTube app on the iPad unless you have a slow connection.
Our family uses DSL (4-5 Mbps) and we stream video both with iPads, computers and TV with, mostly, no issues like buffering or data degradation/pixellation. It all depends on how much traffic there is on the Internet at any one specific time.
Heavy Internet traffic on different days at different hours of the day, from your ISP, can also be a factor in slowing down your Internet connection.

  • Why does the YouTube app on the iPad Air 2 crash after posting a comment?

I got a brand new iPad Air 2 about 2 weeks ago, and ever since I started using the YouTube app, I've had a few issues. Every time that I post a comment or reply to a comment, the app crashes. This can be very annoying, especially when it happens in the middle of watching a video. When I re-open the app, I have to go back, find the video I was watching, and find the exact time that I was at before the app crashed. I need to do this every time, and this prevents me from being able to reply to comments or post anything at all. I had the YouTube app on my old iPad 2 which I had for about 4 years before upgrading to the iPad Air 2, and I never had any problems such as this one. I am not sure whether there is something wrong with my iPad, or maybe it could just be a bug within the app, which in that case, the developers would need to fix. Please let me know what you think of this issue, thanks.

Delete youtube app from iPad and then download it again. Or try clearing out youtube like press home button twice and clear the Q out.

  • How do I get the old YouTube app back...

    ...becasue the new one *****.
It wants to play one video after another, non stop. I just want it to play the video I choose and then do nothing until I tell it to play another one. This is very annoying.
Also, if I pause a video to read some text on the screen I can't see the text becasue it throws a menu up in the middle of the screen. Who thought that was a good idea?
It is becoming apparent thta the new YouTube app is un-usable for me.

Only some of the channels do that, so it must be by design by the content provider(s).  I think the Smithsonian Channel is one that does it, but I am not near an Apple TV to check.
    Have a nice day.

  • YouTube app no longer works

I've just recently signed up for an iPhone 3gs I've had it for about a week now everything was working fine but now the youtube app refuses to play any video. Comes with with a message stating "video format not supported" the annoying thing, is that the videos that I am trying to watch were working fine on the YouTube app on sunday but now all of a sudden nothing. I am using the 3G network and I have not made any changes to the settings on the phone at all. Can anyone suggest what this could be?
    Thanks.

I tried that, still no joy. As a rule I always have wifi off because of the power drain, usually dont have 3g enabled unless I am using an app or going online. I've reset the network setting just in case I accidently changed something without me knowing but that didnt have any effect on the situation either. When I get home I will try to use the wifi to see if that allows me to play youtube videos. That and I might pop along to the apple store to see if anyone there can give me more advice, unless anyone else has anymore ideas on things I could try?
Thanks for all the advice and tips though its much appreciated.

  • YouTube app - deleted? iOS 6

Why has the YouTube app been deleted in ios6?
I'm now reduced to using YouTube in safari which is slow and constantly crashes

A lot no doubt goes into Apple's design choices, but SOB, it is down right annoying when we lose functionality used every day after upgrading to "200 new features" -- 198 of which are without use to me.
The iOS is the "world's most advanced OS", unless you need an accessible file system, like spam filtering on your mail, or live on the wild side from time to time by viewing the occasional web page embedded YouTube video.
I can do less on my iPad today, than I could yesterday.  I enjoy my iPad less today, than I did yesterday.  Why?
Why oh why must Apple make the simple things so difficult???  They are masters at making the complex simple, yet insist on making the simple impossible! WHT???

  • IPhone showing prompt for installing official Youtube app

We're creating iPhone renditions of some folios we've created and published for iPad.  Instead of embedding videos into the folio we're linking to them on Youtube using "Open in Folio."  While this works well on the iPad, on the iPhone it keeps popping up the following message when the in-app browser opens:
I'm pretty sure this just started happening yesterday or today since I haven't seen it in prior testing.  It seems like it's a change on Youtube's part when detecting a small mobile device visiting their website.  Even after using the link to take me to the app store and download the Youtube app I'm still getting the same popup in the Adobe Content Viewer.  It isn't changing to a prompt asking if I'd like to open the video in the Youtube app like it does when I use "Open in Device Browser" with an Android folio rendition.  Has anyone else noticed this?  Any suggestions for a solution?  It's rather annoying to have this message popup every time you try to view a video.  I'd gladly use "Open in Device Browser", however that means that there's no easy back button or other way for the user to get back to my app/folio.
    Andrew

To me I think they need to re-vamp this app. Totally change and improve it. It has so much potential. Since the first iPhone came out they have had only 1 feature added to this app the whole time.

  • Troubles with YouTube app

If I try to access YouTube through the built-in app it will not show me all my subscriptions although  will get video updates for all my subscriptions under "new videos" - but it will tell me I am not subscribed to them, and hitting the "subscribe" button gets an error message of "YouTube is not available"
If I access my YouTube account through safari the YouTube page shows ALL my subscriptions without an issue although there is an annoying bar going across my desktop view that I can't seem to get rid of ...
The question is - why is there not an available APP SUPPORT/UPDATE for the BUILT IN APPS through the apple store? It would be very nice if a person could REINSTALL a built-in app if they are having issues without having to hook up to another computer - it would also be great if there was a better way to let Apple know when there is an issue with one of these apps as well ...
How the heck to I get the BUILT IN YOUTUBE APP to recognize ALL my subscriptions? (it's an app issue because the same problem occurs across ALL 4 of our iPads no matter the IOS or model)

  • Youtube App has (a few) bugs after firware update on 46TL933G

After a video is finished and the next video on the playlist starts, the next video has a black screen. Sound is working, the control bar is working, I can press the back button to go to the menu. However, every video from now on until the restart of the app has a black screen.
If I go to the next video before a video ends, the next video is shown normally.

I already tried to reset the TV settings. I assume this is a programming error.

As I already wrote in the posting on the top: "I already tried to reset the TV settings"
I did it several times. I don't have any saved channels, since I only use the TV for Youtube and DVDs. Therefore YouTube not working properly is really annoying.
I better describe the error again, since understanding my initial post obviously is hard: The YouTube App works. I can watch videos. Only not to the end! Otherwise the screen goes black (with the menu still working).

  • Apple TV YouTube app only shows limited amount of videos on subscribed channels

I noticed that when using the YouTube app on the Apple TV 3 I only get a small selection of videos to watch on subscribed YouTube channels. Not sure if this is due to a limitation or a setting that I didn't check but it's rather annoying.
My workaround at the moment is to use Airplay to watch the videos that aren't showing up. Shouldn't have to do this in my honest opinion.
Really want to know if this is normal or something that I can fix.
    Thanks.

    youtube works that way
it's a place where users like you can me get to upload videos
youtube remove things they find  inappropriate but they can only review soo many a min
use the parental setting to block youtube case solved
better block it on computers too because it's the same deal

  • My ipod wont let me get on youtube from the browser and the youtube app is always slow

this suck because my youtube app takes like 10 min just to play a 3 min video while on the broswer it took like a minute to get it all ready to play

In Safari search for m.youtube to go to the mobile YouTube site.  It works on the iPod.

  • When I try to update my youtube app, I'm asked to sign in with my Apple ID. The only problem is, it shows my sons Email instead of mine! When I go to settings my email is still there. How can I change the email when it asks me to put MY password in?

When I try to update my youtube app, I'm asked to sign in with my apple password but the email it shows is my sons! In my settings it still shows my email. Nowhere in my settings on my Ipod or if I sign in to Apple with my computer does it show his email. Can anyone help???

    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them. Thus it appears that yor sone purchased the app.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

I can't open the app store, safari the mail app, youtube app and the maps app. they try to open then close very quickly. what can I do?

Try downloading another app - any free app - that seems to reset something and the apps may start working again. Try that first. If that doesnt work, try these steps
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Facebook and YouTube app connection

How do I reconnect the Facebook and YouTube apps to my internet, which is working fine, on my iPad air. The apps work fine on my 5c, but only recently started having network and connection issues.

    Hi, Jvc_11.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are experiencing internet issues with a couple third party applications.  I would need a little more information regarding how you are connecting to the internet and if the issue is present on other apps to provide a better answer.  However, this may be related to Wi-Fi connectivity.  I would recommend going through the steps in the article below.
