ANNOYING: Ovi window jumping out each time I sit b...
Dear OVI Developers,
Each time I go out and return to sit back at my PC, OVI Suite window jumps out.
Now dear developers, if anyone reads it - this issue is dreadfully annoying and has been reported on many forums for a really long time.
Yet on all the threads I've seen (at least here, at Discussions) I have seen no single entry saying "we will fix" or anything.
If coding a simple checkbox "do not pop out" is really that hard, then at least say "we will not fix it". Just few words of information would be sufficient.

I suspect that "every time you sit back at your PC" is a bit of an exaggeration unless your PC has some kind of motion-detector that knows when you are there...
There is a certain amount of control that you can exercise over Ovi Suite - the easiest way to make sure it isn't active unless you specifically need it is to go to Tools>Options>General and un-tick the box marked "Start Nokia Ovi Suite automatically when your computer starts up" (see the attached file "ovi_suite_startup1.jpg"). This means that you can't quickly open Ovi Suite from the system tray, you have to go via the desktop or start menu, but it's only a very small sacrifice.
Once you use Ovi Suite, it remains open in the system tray. To kill it, just click the Ovi icon in your system tray then select Exit - see attached image "ovi_suite_closedown1.jpg".
Provided that Ovi Suite is not active in the system tray, it will not interrupt you - it will not attempt to carry out any scheduled activities and nor will it pop up when you connect your phone to the PC by USB cable.
I don't know what the specific issue is that people are moaning about on the forums, perhaps they simply haven't bothered to check how to restrict Ovi Suite's activities. The only issue I have noticed is that when active, Ovi Suite tries to hijack your connection mode - if you connect in mass storage mode to transfer files via Windows Explorer or you connect by Media Transfer mode to use Ovi Player, Ovi Suite pops up and switches your connection to PC Suite mode. This is indeed irritating, but easily fixed by follwoing the two tips I have just given.

Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com. Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan. Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans. Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive

ROYWhy don't you get the latest version (v1.4.2). It is almost guaranteed of working. Java is backwards-compatible so 1.2 programs can run with a 1.4 JRE.

I have an Acrobat 8 which is all I need. Installed on my new computer which is using Windows 8. Each time I open Acrobat I get a window that say unable to registrator. It gives me three options try again, redo, never register. No matter which option I choose I cannot stop the window from opening each time I open the computer.
Any suggestions?Probably far too old to register. Sounds like a bug, stopping the "never" selection from working. You may be stuck with it.

No, the camera connection kit only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app, it doesn't support copying content off the iPad. For your second camera instead of the SD reader part of the kit, does the iPad to camera cable not work with it for direct transfer to the iPad ?
For Lightroom and Nikon software again no - you can only install apps that are available in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app on the iPad, 'normal' PC and Mac (OS X) software are not compatible with the iPad (iOS). There are some apps that perform fairly basic editing functions that are available in the store, but nothing as sophisticated as, for example, Lightroom. -
I recently went to open my windows live mail,which normally opens because it has my login and password saved. Now it opens in firefox and I have to retype my login and password everytime I open my mail. I would like when I open my mail not to have to retype my login and password as this is why I have it set up in the original windows mail anyway. So I have attempted to live with this problem by adjusting the options to save my password and when I close out of firefox and try to reopen it later in the day I have to retype my login and password again.

I have been running Photoshop 8 for years. Upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 just so I could get Lightroom. I am paying the 9.99/mth for Lightroom and photoshop. I downloaded and am already using Lightroom. It's amazing -- I sat on chat with customer support for 3 hours, and they weren't able to come up with the solution. He had me creating new accounts, wiping out various directories, changing read and write permissions here and there, searching for non-existant files, and yes, repeatedly installing from disc and from download, and nothing worked. I've been searching the internet up and down, and there are some really involved "solutions" out there for this problem.

Annoying finder window jumping
Another annoyance in 10.6. In a finder window, I am attempting to scroll to the bottom of the window, but after a second or two the pane jumps to the top of the window again, so I can never see the entire contents of the folder. Help/suggestions appreciated

Trying to login to Ihealth app but times out each time
HI, I purchased a Ihealth wireless activity tracker, downloaded the app and tried to connect via Bluetooth, the device won't connect and all I get is network timed out. I increased the time out in the router but it still times out very quick. The ihealthlabs are no use what so ever, they just ignore people. i took the device back to the shop and they gave me another to try, but this one is even worse as it will not connect via Bluetooth.
i Would be interested if anyone else has one of these and has solved the problem, or is it the app that's at fault.

<Edited By Host>Hi, Many thanks for the help. After going back to Maplins a guy named Jay said let him have a look, and after 5 mins he had it working. First he turned off Bluetooth on the phone, he deleted both apps health and the updated app, and downloaded just the one standard app. He then put my email address and password in, it connected first time, and asked to switch Bluetooth on, it was then all working, but came up with did I want to download the updated version, which was fine. Just make sure the app you use is the blue one and not the orange one, as it updates through the standard one.
hope this helps anyone else having the same problem, as I said the chap who helped me was Jay at the Hemel Hempstead branch of Maplins.

HT4796 windows migration fails each time I try to run it.
It then tells me to quit as the only option. What can be hanging it up? I have the newest version installed on my windows laptop and my new macbook pro is 2012 new right out of the box.
Then stop trying to use it. Just copy your personal files over to the Mac. There is nothing else on a PC that works on a Mac other then personal files. No settings or program files from a PC will work on a Mac. You do that by either Networking the 2 computer or use an external drive formatted FAT32 or exFAT. Then copy the files to it and then copy them to the Mac.
In all honesty Migration assistant doesn't work, never has, and even if you get it to Semi work what you end up with is not what you would expect. -
Logged out each time iTunes closes
I've noticed lately that iTunes seems to always log me out when I close the session even if I didn't log out. Has anyone else noticed this and/or have any suggestions on how to stay signed into iTunes unless I choose to sign-out?

Hello. Just updated the firmware to 7.0.0 on my iphone5 and now I have a problem. The phone crashes (freezes, tunrs off) if I set the dynamic wallpaper. Whenever bubbles move - the phone freezes. Never had ANY problem yet.
