Annoying pop-up window whenever I try to move control points ...

So I'm animating a mask ... and whenever I try to adjust a control point, a little transparent pop-up window appears and tells me what coordinates/values I'm moving the point to.
This is great and all, but all too often, that little window obscures the area that I need to see in order to make an accurate mask.
Is there any way to turn that off?
Thanks!

I've tried unsuccessfully to turn that off for months. It doesn't seem to respond to any of the "overlays", so I'm going to say that it's NOT possible to turn it off.
I've had the same problem. My only workaround is to zoom in closer to the subject of the mask so it's not obscuring too much. (CMD+/-)

  • Why am I suddenly getting the spinning kaleidoscope whenever I try to move on a page?

Today I started getting the spinning kaleidoscope whenever I try to manuever on a web page. For example, checking email boxes of messages I want deleted and when trying to scroll down on the page. Kaleidescope pops up and spins for a few and then I can make some moves and it starts again. ALmost like it's loading slow? Software updated. Here are the specs: Mac OS X Lion version 10.7.5 / Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 / Memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • HT1338 Annoying pop up window

After I upgraded my OS from OS X 10.5 to OS X 10.8 about a month back I often get a pop up box with this message "There was a problem connecting to the server.   URLs with type “file:” are not supported." How do I get rid of this problem??

This issue occurs when all the following conditions are all true:
    • You have a removable drive configured as drive letter C.
    • You do not have a removable disk in the removable disk drive.
To resolve the issue, use one of the following methods:
Change the drive letter assignment for the removable drive to a letter other than C.
To change the drive letter assignments in Windows 7, follow these steps:
    1. Log on to the computer as Administrator.
    2. Insert a disk in the removable drive.
    3. Click Start, right-click on Computer, and then click Manage.
    4. Click Disk Management.
    5. Right-click the partition, logical drive, or volume that you want to change, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
    6. Click the removable drive, click it, click Change, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.
    That should be it.

  • How can I eliminate this annoying pop-up window?

I am using Flash Player 10 (build 10.3.181.34) under Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2, Firefox 5.01/Internet Explorer 9.  I run an application (an internet game) with dozens of mighty images to be displayed on the screen. With nearly every image a window pops up messaging as follows:
"Adobe Flash Player 10 slows down by a script inside this picture. If the script furthermore will be executed, the computer potentially will respond no longer. Do you want to abort the execution of the script?" Buttons: YES or NO
I wonder if it is possible to avoid this window to pop up and in these cases automatically to abort the execution of the script (i.e. conforming to the decison YES).

Yes, it is a good idea to use Find My iPad.  To sign out without losing anything, do the following:
If you're running iOS 8.1, save any start by saving any my photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then Save Image.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Delete from My iPad and provide your password when prompted (any iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Then sign back in (any iCloud data will download back to your iPad).

  • How to remove a mini pop-up window whenever I type Japanese on my Mac.?

I like to consider myself pretty smart around computers, but I am stumped on this one. Here's the problem:
Whenever I type in Romanji or English, everything works fine.
But then I change to Hiragana and start typing and the characters I type don't appear in the document. Instead a long thin mini-window immediately appears along the bottom of the screen and you can see the characters as I type. You can even set the kanji. After pressing enter in this mini-window, the output is automatically typed out into Pages, and the output is garbage. It's nothing but apple symbols and other characters (for example: Cbi)
This problem isn't completely system wide because I can type into TextEdit and OpenOffice just fine. However, Word also suffers from this exact same problem.
I've been trying to figure this out for about a week.
Any ideas what this could be?
    Thanks in advance.
    Byron

    1) I am using the factory installed keyboard. It is a Macbook 4.1 bought in japan. The keyboard is standard US, except there are extra buttons on both sides of the space bar. The button to the left says English and the button on the right says Kana. These buttons are used for quick changing between the languages. I have tried both of these as well as "apple+space"
    2) In my "Input Sources" in my System Preferences, I have checked the following:
    a) Kotoeri - Hiragana
    b) Kotoeri - Katakana
    c) Kotoeri - Full-Width Romanji
    d) Kotoeri - Half-Width Katakana
    e) Kotoeri - Romanji
    f) U.S.
    3) I am using the default font which is "MS明朝"

  • A pop-up window appears after log-in and disappears very fast

    Hello,
There is an annoying pop-up window appearing in the center of my screen, after each log-in to my account.
It dissappears ultra-quickly after showing up and I'm not physically able to see what it's about. I can't even take a screenshot.
I wonder whether there is a respective .log file or an event viewer, in order to check what this might be and why it's appearing.
I opened up the Logs folder, but I didn't find something useful. Activity Monitor also didn't help.
In Login Iterms, there is only iTunesHelper app, and it has never caused any kind of problem before.
All of my settings haven't been changed since last three weeks, and this is happening for only three days now.
There is only one account on MBP (OS X 10.8.5). If further information is needed, I'll try to provide them.
    Thanks in advance.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

  • Java script code missing' comes up in a window when I try to batch process my images in photoshop.

I have an imac version 10.9.4, Photoshop cs5.1. I'll select file-script-image processor and that is when the 'java script code missing' pops up. It used to work before I upgraded to the version 10.9.4. I called Apple and they don't know what to do. Now I'm here on the community site hoping someone can help. Not being computer savvy I don't understand anything I try to read about it.

I finally found out that my 'McAfee SiteAdvisor' add-on was causing the problem for me. You can either disable it from your add-ons by clicking on tools, then add-ons and then disable it from your list of add-ons, or if you still wish to use it like I do, you can unistall it from your add-on list, and then download it from the official McAfee web site and then simply reinstall it... Since I've done this my firefox been loading faster, no annoying pop-up window when I launch or open a new tab. It was also crashing quiet often before I did this and that seemed to be fixed now.
here is the link for the McAfee SiteAdvisor download from the official McAfee web site if anyone needs to download it again like I had to.

  • Adobe Flash Player Pop up window issue!

Please Help!!! Ive had to uninstall & install this program several times due to an annoying pop up window from Internet Exployer Security saying "A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer." Each time I click on allow it continues to pop up several more times then goes away, but then continues to appear again, and again. Please help me to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Thanks Mike M....again. I will try anything at this point. These constant pop-ups are frustrating. I may have to breakdown & have my laptop looked at by a professional to see if they can recommend other options & possibly upgrading.

  • Help, I get a pop up window

I used to have a Yahoo account and set it up on Mail to read all my mails when I bought my computer.
I had too much spam and had to close the account and set up another account.  Well now, every hour I get a pop up window requesting the password for my old Yahoo accont.  I have tried everything, even called iMac help, and no luck.  Has this ever happened to anyone?  how did you fix it?
You can't move it and it blocks your working window.
    thanks,
    A.

It sounds like you have your email set up to check the mail every hour. Since you still have that defined as an account to your email, it tries to check the mail, has a password issue, and gives you the annoying pop-up window.
If you go into your mail, preferences, accounts, choose that old account (assuming you want to keep it to keep the mail that was associated with it), click the advanced tab, and uncheck "Include when automatically checking for new messages".

  • Can I save my username and password to login to a wifi network on a pop-up window?

At my college, we have two ways to loging to the wifi. Either directly on the browser, or an annoying pop up window comes up. What I want to do is either stop the pop up window entirely, (preferrable) or save my password to the pop up window.
Also, this pop up window only seems to occur for me. None of my friends get it.

  • Accessing iTunes Store - Pop up window

Does anyone know how to fix this annoying pop up window ''Accessing iTunes Store'' that appears every time I open iTunes or access the iTunes Store? Or anyone out there with same problem?
Every time I type a letter in the iTunes store search box, the progress bar appears! Grrr
The Cinematic Orchestra is off the cards at the moment - Maybe some U2 instead.
The problem first began when I installed iTunes 10.2. All previous versions where fine - no problems. I thought this most recent 10.2.1 update was issued to maybe fix this frustrating glitch. No such luck.
I have tried reinstalling, clearing my caches and making sure the Safari 'Block Pop Up Windows' option is activated.
    Many Thanks

I've fixed mine! From a little help from an apple adviser.
You might want to clear your caches before doing this - under iTunes preferences.
Open iTunes - go to the top bar, click the 'Store' drop down menu >
Then click 'De-authorise this Computer' >
    Enter your password etc >
Then click 'Store' again then click 'Re-authorise this Computer'>
    Enter password etc>
    Restart the Mac>
Open up iTunes should be fine - worked for me anyway
    Good Luck

  • Safari: Pop-up windows for "Mac Keeper"; Random search results and ads everywhere!

Please help! A very annoying pop up window called "Mac Keeper" keeps popping up.
Also, when i search something in google; or any search engine; I will get random results.

There are two possibilities: either the router has been hacked to direct DNS queries to a malicious server, or it's using the right DNS servers, but those servers have been hacked. The first possibility is more likely.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to reset the router to the default state. Usually that involves inserting the end of a straightened paper clip or a similar tool into a pinhole somewhere in the back of the device, and pressing a switch inside for about 15 seconds. The pinhole may be marked "RESET."
Repeat the initial setup process. Make sure the router does not allow remote setup from the Internet (WAN port), if it has that feature—most do. The DNS servers should be set automatically by your ISP. If you still have trouble with those servers selected, contact your ISP.
Another option, if your ISP fails to secure its servers promptly, is to use an alternative DNS service such as Google DNS or OpenDNS. I don't recommend either one. Don't believe the marketing hype about OpenDNS, in particular. There are no advantages to using it if your ISP is delivering the service you pay for.
If you have a wireless network, it must be secured with WPA 2 encryption. The passwords for the network and the router must each be a string of at least 10 random upper- and lower-case letters and digits, and they should be different. Any password that you can remember is weak.

  • Is the pop up window that asks if you want your Mac cleaned up really from Apple?

We have been receiving a lot of pop up windows whenever using our new Mac and it always asks if we want to clean up our Mac and then the box says "Continue".  I am very suspecious of this and cannot find out if it is for real and don't want to select it to see what happens.  Can anyone help give info on this?  From looking at other discussions, apparently others are also receiving this.  Thank you, Noel

Of course not, and it probably comes from an application called MacKeeper, which is useless. See > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3691
OS X has got its own maintenance scripts to keep your computer work correctly, so there's no need for cleaning apps.
To get rid of those messages, remove all the temporary files from Safari. Open Safari, go to Safari menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Privacy, and choose Remove All Private Data
