Annoying rpcbind issue stopping jumpstart from working ...

I have a continuing issue with Jumpstart that's been messing with me for quite some time. The issue begins right after I believe a LDOM jumpstart download the inetboot file from /tftpboot and attempts to start NFS mounting stuff.
I get the following error in /var/adm/messages usually a couple of times:
May 3 17:33:33 T2000 rpcbind: [ID 702911 daemon.warning] refused connect from 192.168.0.210 to getport()
So I'm pretty sure /etc/ethers, /etc/hosts, /tftpboot, /etc/bootparams are all correct. To give a little more detail, I'm attempting to jumpstart a newly created LDOM from the same machine that the LDOM is configured to run on. I have vsw0 setup and its using the same MAC address as the original e1000g0 interface (which is unplumbed).
Just not sure what the error message it attempt to say as I would think getport() would typically show at least an attempting port number the client was attempting to get to. In this case the error message isn't showing anything.
I've even tried dealing with this by creating a /etc/hosts.allow with the following contents:
ALL: ALL
but no joy ... any thoughts ?

Ok well i did the email and it's working again, only problem is, when i sent it to her email it opened up a new chat thread on my phone.

Glad to hear that the numbers are working properly.
You may be able to force the phone back onto the original thread by unchecking all email addresses and only having the number available for iMessage, deleting the email chat convos (on both phones) and then maybe starting with SMS and then turning iMessage back on.
Otherwise, what you see is what you're gonna get.
It would be nice if the messages could be merged, but they cannot, sorry.

Lastly, backup/archive your conversation with iExplorer, that way when you want to start with a fresh Message database and free up space on your phone, you can do so without losing a single message.

Start with the third box in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
If that doesn't work, use the steps in the second box to repair your iTunes installation. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Freeze accounts periods stops MRP from working?

We have been doing some work in Accounts and froze the accounting periods January - September, but it appears this action stopped MRP from working.
Is this behaviour correct by design, or is it possible there is an as yet undefined issue?

I started getting the hdcp message a few months ago on it. been using it for years with componet now I cant. what I meNt on the AT2 is that when I bought it, I was able to use it, rent moves, etc. since I got it using an adaptor because of my tv. It just recently was rendered incapable along with the componet output on the AT1.
My tv is a 65" Hitachi rear projection, with no hdmi. It's old, but still has a great picture

Upgrade to iOS 6.1.3 for iPad stopped cable from working

Hey guys, not too long ago I finally decided to upgrade to ios 6.1.3., because a lot of the apps I wanted needed it. After updating it, my cable to connect to the tv (30 pin male to hdmi female cord from Apple store) stopped working, displaying the message 'This accessory is not support by the iPad'. And the T.V. screen remains black. Has anyone else experienced this and/or solved this issue? Can it be solved at all? Because it's a real **** off, especially since I didn't want to upgrade to ios 6 in the first place. My iPad literally just lost half of its usefulness.

Mac: Graphic Update of Snow Leopard (08/19/10) stopped LR3 from working

I wonder if I'm the only one who has a problem with the latest Apple Update named "Graphic Update 1.0 for Snow Leopard" from last night. After I installed the update on my iMac 27" with quad core i5, 8Gb RAM I accidently used LR 3 RC 3.2 when I recognized that the brushes and all other editing tools where really slow. Even after clicking the brush it took sometimes up to 15 sec. until the tool got selected. Using the brush was slow and without any effect on working either.
I recognized that I was usign the RC 3.2 release which I stopped working with as I have had several issues on that release before with long loading times of photos to edit. So I switched back to the normal release 3.0 which was working OK for me before. But now I have the same issues on the official 3.0 release. Even 3.0 is now very, very stringy and tools aren't working, too. Using the loupe, which shows the magnification immediatly takes now 15 sec. to show the magnification and some more sec. until it is sharp. Switching to next photo takes around 25 sec. which was done in around 3 sec. before.
Now idea what happend, but I think I have to reinstall the OS and get the latest data from my TM.

Was this specific to the iMac? I just checked for updates on my Macbook Pro and nothing came up about a Graphic update. I went through the process of backing off an update (10.6.4 back to 10.6.3). It wasn't exactly pretty, but not impossible. You may have to do some reinstalls afterward if you find you need to choose that route. In my case I reinstalled Snow Leopard from the DVD first, preserving current user settings and then reinstalled 10.6.3 from a download. A few hours effort, but was back in business, so it is doable.

Installing iTunes updates stops iTunes from working in Windows 8.1

Last year after installing Windows 8.1 I had problems with iTunes ( couldn't burn to disc and could not uninstall after being advised by Apple Support that uninstalling was the solution), after assistance from the Windows community my problem was solved. I installed iTunes 12.1, I believe it was.
Then in early January 2015 I received an update notification and installed it but again started getting error messages and could not run iTunes, error was -
"ITunes.exe - entry Point not found"
The procedure entry point "ADadPolicyEngine_DidEnterStation" Could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\iTunes\iTunes.dll.
Then the message
ITunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes
Error 7 (Windows error 127)
Part of last years solution was the correct procedure to uninstall iTunes (remove all Apple programs) this I followed again and reinstalled iTunes. It again worked correctly until 30.1.15. I opened iTunes and was told there was a newer version available which I installed which it completed ok but then it checked for any other updates and foolishly I installed it and got the error message -
GNSDK_MANAGER_DLL. is missing from your computer reinstall
After clicking ok I get the further message
ITunes was not installed correctly, reinstall
Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Whilst I know how to uninstall and reinstall it is a bit of a pain to have to go through quite a long procedure to correct this problem. As this seems to be an ongoing problem does anyone know a solution ?
I believe the suggested update is the same (12.1) that I install from the iTunes site, so why does it tell me to update I ask .
It would appear that this problem relates to the update from iTunes and not Windows
Obviously not installing updates is an option but not the answer.
Any advice will be appreciated.

I am now wondering why he sent me this line in green?

When I removed this line so that the code at the beginning now reads:

the query stops working. Error Msg "Must specify table to select from'.
What is happening here?
I thought   /*   */   means remarks, which can be deleted without effect.
It now seems they are an essential part of the query.
Could you explain the meaning of the command, so that I can use it when building other queries?
- What does 'Select 1' mean and what is its effect?
- Why do we have to put this command to make query work?
- Why do you put it between /*   */?

Firewall stops ichat from working

I have 2 macs, MacBook and MacBook Pro, both are running leopard.
With the firewall set to "Set access for specific services and applications", for either mac, ichat becomes unreliable.
While chatting via bonjour it frequently drops the connection. It does this by telling one party the other has logged out and telling the other party there has been a connection error. Which party receives which response seems to be random.
Video chat and screen sharing don't work at all, sometimes the request is receive but after accepting says there has been a communication error, other times the request is simply never received by the other party.
Both macs have ichat and ichatagent set to "Allow incoming connections" in the firewall pane.
Anyone have similar problems?
With the firewall set to "Allow all incoming connections" on both macs everything works fine, but I'd rather not have to do that.

The new firewall is built new from the ground up. I'm still deciding whether this was a good idea, but by and large it simply doesn't work the same way as any of the previous firewalls that were based on the bulletproof IPFW. If you're having issues with the new firewall and want to revert to the older Tiger firewall, it's easy, download the free WaterRoof (http://www.hanynet.com/waterroof/) It's a frontend for IPFW, which is still installed on Leopard. Turn off the new leopard firewall, and use waterroof to set up IPFW the way you want it - instead of working on an application basis (which seems to be unpredictable) IPFW works on the usual port basis, which seems to be much more predictable.

Quicktime will not install on my PC - also stopping iTunes from working

Quicktime and iTunes will not install on my Vista SP 1 PC, Whenever I try to install either I get the following error message;
Quicktime - "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
iTunes - "The installation of Quicktime did not complete successfully. iTunes requires Quicktime."
From my iTunes error message I hope that by correcting the Quicktime error the iTunes should in turn be fixed.
I am using the latest installers for each and I can't understand why this is happening,
I have tried completely removing my old version of Quicktime and tried to copy my other PC's Quicktime folder into this one however that has not worked. I have also tried using the latest installers multiple times however I always get the same error message.
Please help me fix this error where Quicktime can't install,

What's the precise text of the message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

@Merel, I find it amusing that people have hundreds of blocked senders. I have been using internet mail since late 1980s. I have been actively using some of my mail accounts since before the Millennium. I have no blocked senders.
I used to have blocked senders in MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger as it was the only SPAM control option available, but I have Zero blocked senders in my mail client. I certainly get loads of spam in my Yahoo account, it is something Yahoo appear to be incapable of managing. I get very very little in my other mail accounts, so other providers can mange it.
Thunderbird does an excellent job of managing my spam with only a few each day making it to my inbox.
You appear to think transferring this list from client to client is important. I would really like you to tell me why! Then I would love an explanation why you think syncing of such list has merit.
Most people with lots of blocked senders appear to think a blocklist is a SPAM management tool. It is not.
Either they are using blocked senders for SPAM control, something that is simply not appropriate as it is a slow process. To place each mail in a list and check it against 500 email addresses you don't like simply bogs down the receipt of mail.

Preloader stops buttons from working?!

Hi,
I made a flash file with buttons that go here and there and everything was fine
except it takes a while to load so i added a preloader and suddenly the compiler
is throwing the following error:
Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
... and the buttons have ceased to function.

If you are getting a 1009 error, the file will not work, so the buttons might not be the problem.
The 1009 error indicates that one of the objects being targeted by your code is out of scope. This could mean that the object....
- is not in the display list
- doesn't have an instance name (or the instance name is mispelled)
- does not exist in the frame where that code is trying to talk to it
- is animated into place but is not assigned instance names in every keyframe for it
- is one of two or more consecutive keyframes of the same objects with no name assigned in the preceding frame(s).
If you go into your Publish Settings Flash section and select the option to Permit debugging, your error message should have a line number following the frame number which will help you isolate which object is involved.

Ipod stops itunes from working

i am opperating itunes on vista. every time i connectr my new ipod and it starts synching - 1 min or less later itunes stops working and the program closes. what am i doing wrong here - i havent even got any music onto my ipod yet!!

RSS Not Working - Trying to Fix Stopped Safari from Working

I started having problems with RSS in Safari about a week ago. Every time I tried to view an RSS feed I got a long delay and then an error message page. And it isn't picking up on the feeds I have bookmarked when they change.
I was following the advice of another thread and deleted the RSS plist file, then relaunched Safari... And now Safari freezes immediately on launch. I can't use the software at all.
Anyone got any suggestions?

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Since you are running Snow Leopard, make sure Safari is opening in 32-bit mode, not 64. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.
  Web pages now include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon cache using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*

Opening CAN0 stops CAN1 from working?

We are using the C programming API to do some comms on CAN0 of a series 2, 2 channel CAN interface.
The comms works fine BUT if we try to open the CAN1 interface in MAX, it is not available for use to monitor CAN0 etc.
Alternatively, if we have CAN1 open in Max, then CAN0 fails to configure in our C program.
Is it possible to overcome this?
If we do a similar thing configuring and opening CAN0 in Labview, then we still have access to CAN1 so we can use it for monitoring.
Also if we have CAN1 open in MAX, the Labview program still successfully uses CAN0.

I attach two files(zipped) from a project which uses a Java front end to talk to a .cpp DLL which manages CAN0 of a series 2 NI-CAN two port card via NI-CAN.
When the our program opens CAN0 using the InitialiseC function, then this must also tie up the CAN1 port as you cannot use MAX to monitor comms on CAN1.
