Annoying 'See What's Printing'

I have an HP C 4780 Photosmart printer/scanner/fax.
For some reason, after I click on 'Print' another window comes up that I
have to chose again, 'Start Printing'. I already told it to print!
It displays the layout and shows what is going to be printed.
It just started doing that about a month ago.
Does anyone know how I can prevent it from popping up?
I do see the link for this when I open my HP program under ' Printer Actions and Print Photos
Documents and Adjust Settings' but it doesn't let you not display it.
(I've already chosen the settings for my default and set page breaks
and margins for the area I want to be printed).
It's just redundant! ~

Acrobat X, seeing what % you print

In Acrobat 9, you could see how many % a page was shrunk (is that a word?) to fit on an A4 page. Like this (in Swedish):
In Acrobat X, I can't see that percentage anywhere:
The reason to why I want this:
We get dimensional drawings on our units from many different suppliers. They all save them as pdf:s in different sizes. OK, we can use the "Anpassa" (fit to page) above, but the thing is that it's so easy to forget to set it back to "Verklig storlek" (real size). EVERYTHING else we print should be in "real size". If we print what we produce ourselves in the "fit to page" setting, it comes out in 94 % size.
So I open all dimensional drawings and check the "fit to page" setting and see what % it says. Let's say that the result is 68 % as given above. All would have been well if I could print it in 68 % (print it in fit to page size), but if I do that, parts of the frame are not printed. So if the answer is 68 %, I want to print it in 65 %.
Now with Acrobat X I can't get the percentage, so I have to try and try and try until I get a good print. That takes a lot of time. Is there some way I can see this in Acrobat X? Or do I have to install Reader 9?

I'm sorry I misunderstood. I entered 90% to show you could enter a custom scaling.
But it also shows the % of scaling when the page is fit on your paper size as this shows:

Using HP8500 wireless with other Macs but iPad2 does not see the printer on the network .. what needs to be done for the iPad to see the HP printer?

iPad2 doesn't see HP8500 wireless printer .. other Macs (Air & Mini) have no trouble printing ..

Same with mine. MacBook and pc both print fine but not my ipad2.

How do I filter two columns of names to see What names are the same?

I have two lists of names (one with 2,000+ names and one with 300+ names) I want make a column that shows the names that are not in both columns and the names that are. Is there an automated way of doing this?
Basically, I have 2,000 friends on facebook and only 300 of them like my business page. I want to know which friends to market too and which friends to stop annoying Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You may use COUNTIF to see what values are in both columns.
In this example I used the expression: =COUNTIF(B,A)

I bought my macbook pro for only a day, and see what happens....

The computer is running pretty laggy a little bit and also I cannot shut it down... When i press shutdown, the only disappeared was the bar on the top. the task bar on the bottom still there.... And when i tries to shut it down by pressing the physical button.. It still wouldn't work....

How do I check to see WHAT'S using up the most storage.

I have a 500gb Drive but only 11 free. Wanted the best way to see what's using up space. I can randomly hit command I on folders and check that way, but was wondering if there was a way to see a document or spreadsheet, or pie chart of everything taking up space. Thanks all.

Not really, no. I'm sure there's probably a command-line program that might give you similar information, but that's not for the faint of heart.
If you are feeling brave you could try something like this:
open
Applications > Utilities > Terminal
and in the Terminal Window type:
find the Path to the folder -ls | cut -c 48-200 | sort -rn | more
this will create a directory listing for all the files in the folder and its subfolders and sort them reverse by size and print a listing. The first column contains the file size in Bytes and pipes the listing thru more. You will have to enter a blank to advance and a q to quit.
For example, on my MBP the following command gives this result:
find /Users/dreschle/Music/iTunes/iTunes\ Music/The\ Beatles -ls | cut -c 48-200 | sort -rn | more

How can I see what file's are in a directory

I'm want to make a program for brosing the harddisk and copying and editing file's.
I already can copy them but:
How can I see what file's are in a directory and how can I see
what subdirectory's are in a directory so I can show them to the user?
I dont't know if it does matter if If I'm on a windows or linux platform, when it does please tell me for the windows?

I have a long sql-statement in a region source.
The type ist "SLQ Query(PL/SQL function...)
Example of my code:

In "q" ist the long sql string. Now I get some error messages.
It is very difficult to find a solutions because "q" ist very long.
Is it possible, to get someting like messagebox. popup or print a file to see what's in "q" (the sql stringer)?

You can try using a substitution string notation e.g. “& P110_Enddate.”. The trailing period is part of the syntax.

Google search is grayed out and I cannot see what I am typing

FF 6.0.2, Google search bar is grayed out and I cannot see what I am typing. The Search bar works but It is annoying.

How can I see how many prints I have printed?

Hello all,
My office currently uses an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. We are reevaluating our printing needs, and I would like to be able to see how many prints we currently print/have printed on the printer if at all possible in order to see what our needs may be.
On my old office Ricoh printer, it told us how many colour and how many b&w prints we did per month. If there is a similar function to this for HP please let me know.

This info is available through the EWS, the Embedded Web Server. simply go to you IP address of the printer in your web browser. Select Tools and Printer information

Why doesn't my MacBook Air see a connected printer on the wireless network?

For some reason my MacBook has come up with a case of the stupids. I have been able to print out to my Canon printer before, but now it doesn't see it. The printer is on our wireless network and can be seen by our iPad, and iMacs but doesn't appear on the MBAir. I have reinstalled the drivers, rebooted the system and when I go to the Preferences to look at the Printers/Scanners there is nothing there. Pressing the + button comes up with a screen with nothing in the default area. The Air is connected to the wireless network and operates fine with the internet and other operations.
What can I do to fix this?

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with printing in Yosemite. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
OS X Yosemite: Printing troubleshooting
Check the network
Open Network Diagnostics, then follow the instructions to make sure you’re connected to the network.
If you’re using a Wi-Fi network and there are multiple Wi-Fi networks available, your Mac and the printer might be on different networks. Open the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar, then try choosing a different network.
To see if the printer you want to use is on the same network as your Mac, open Printers & Scanners preferences (choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners), then click Add . If the printer doesn’t appear in the list of available printers, your Mac might be on a different network.
If you know the printer’s IP address (for example, 192.168.1.100), you can try adding it as an IP printer. For more information, see Add or remove a printer.
If your printer is connected to a Time Capsule or AirPort base station, disconnect your printer from the Time Capsule or base station, then reconnect it.
Make sure you have the latest software
Make sure you have the correct version of your printer’s software (also called its printer driver).
If you’re using a printer that another user is sharing, make sure you’re both using the same version of the printer software. Cannot see the USB printer attached to my TC (Mac Air, Maverick, Air - TC via ethernet)

I cannot see the USB printer I attached to my Time Capsule's USB port. I am using a Mac Air, with Maverick OS, and connecting between my Mac and the TC via an ethernet link. Suggestions?

Not sure what you mean by "see" the USB printer.
If you simply plugged the printer in to the Time Capsule, it will not be "seen" by anything.
You won't "see" the printer until you use System Preferences > Print & Scan on both of your Macs to "Add" the printer. Did you do this for both Macs?

If you want to know what's printed, run the program and see for yourself.
If there's something in particular you don't understand, ask about that. But if you just say you don't know what any of it means, then the advice is to start on page 1 of a Java textbook or tutorial.
