Annoying Web Page Keeps Popping Up

Ever since I upgraded Firefox I am getting ANNOYING web pages from updatenowpro.com telling me my software is out date - what is that? Is that coming from Firefox?

Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated,<br><br>
<u>'''''DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS'''''</u>.<br><br>
While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be <u>'''''Malware or a Virus'''''</u>.
Any time you want or need to check for upgrades,
go to the web site of the <u>'''''True Owner'''''</u> of the program in question.
For example, to check out Firefox, go to '''''[https://www.mozilla.org Mozilla.org]'''''.<BR><BR><BR>
It’s very sad, but many of the software down-loaders /
installers will trick you into installing not only their program,
'''''but other programs as well'''''.
You have heard of the '''''fine print in shady contracts''''', right?
Well, some installers you need to look at the '''''itsy bitsy teeny weeny fine print'''''.
You are thinking you are giving the installer permission to install the program you want by using
the '''''recommended''''' option. But if you use the '''''Manual Option Instead''''',
you discover all kinds of stuff that '''''you do not even know what it is or what it does'''''.
From now on, everyone needs to '''''Use The Manual Option''''' to put a stop to this.

  • Web pages keep turning on and off?

Web page keeps turning into a black screen and then back to web page every few seconds?

  • Web page keeps jumping to top when scrolling down.

When I scroll down a web page on my Macbook Air with 2 fingers, it keeps jumping up to the top again.  This started yesterday, did not happen before.
Also, a rectangle of various sizes has started to appear on the page and this is most annoying.
Any help to rectify this would be appreciated.

    Hi ottodv,
I was not able to reproduce this issue on my Flame device running v2.1.
This may be an issue specific to Geeksphone's build of Firefox OS. Are you able to reproduce this issue with other versions of Firefox OS?

  • This page keeps popping up - why ?

    http://74.39.193.10/br/flashplayer/?Ahttp://

    Hi Sharon,
What do you mean it keeps popping up?  That page is being blocked for me, so I can't navigate to it.  This most likely means that it is a malicious page and your computer may be infected by malware or similar.  I recommend running a virus scan, malware scan, etc to determine what is wrong and fix it.

  • We noticed you may have signed in or signed out in another window. Click OK to reload your page. keeps popping up endlessly

I cannot move my cursor without this message popping up. This started yesterday but only popped up a few times. Now I cannot move without it popping up.

I couldn't take it anymore! I cleaned my registry, ran another Firefox update, disabled my add-ons, and went to att.net and att.com to see if they had upgrades to my home page (they didn't). Still that annoying message! As long as I was able to navigate away from my home page, I did not get that annoying pop-up so I decided to get a new home page. I was using att.net/yahoo, and now I am using just yahoo. So far so good - no pop ups. Still would like to know why this was happening-something to do with the att homepage?

  • Running a web page keeps taking my browser sessions!!

    Hi,
I am using JDev OAE and every time i run a page it finds a random existing browser session and uses it. I have tried putting another browser executable in JDev the preferences but it ignores it!
I have documentation in some sessions and 11i in other ones so this is really annoying.
    Any ideas?
    Brenden

For IE, doing this will initiate a new browser everytime a page is launched.
    Go to
    Tools->Internet Options->Advanced
Under Browsing Category, uncheck the option
    "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
This is the solution in IE if i have understood your problem correctly.
    Thanks

  • Have installed latest version of Firefox but web pages keep stating I am running old version no longer supported

I keep downloading and installing latest version (8) of Firefox. The browser states I have Firefox 8. However, on Google Mail and some other websites I get a message stating I am running an out of date unsupported version of Firefox.

Reset all the '''general.useragent.''' prefs that are '''bold''' and say '''user set'''.
type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter <br />
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.'' <br />
    Filter = '''general.useragent.''' <br />
Right-click the preferences that are '''bold''', one line at a time, and select '''''Reset'''''. <br />
    Then restart Firefox
