Anonymous Proxies

Hi,
I'm a home user (so I don't have access to PACs) and I have been trying to manually configure an anonymous proxy for FTP, HTTP and HTTPS. I've been using free and open proxies. It works, but web surfing is not possible as whatever page I try to load just keeps loading (the bar doesn't advance), and I don't see any content at all. However, when I attempt the same feat with a transparent proxy, it works just fine. I have tried multiple locations but none of them work using anonymous nor high anonymity proxies. It just doesn't work. Could anyone assist me in this matter?

Try NetShade: http://www.netshade.net/ . It should help with what you're trying to do.
The free public proxies are often slow, because they get tons of traffic. NetShade does some work to try to rank them in terms of their speed. It also provides a subscription-based proxy server which is very fast (for $29).

You could try reading about wingates, socks and proxies (oh before i forget, turn off java, javascript, cookies, what's related, and smart update ... if you are using IE you're not very smart). Also try installing a firewall, or DHCP or you can learn from me!Here is the info of best 10 proxy software, from which you may try: http://www.techyv.com/article/top-10-free-proxy-software

  • Disabling anonymous proxy servers

Can I find out if another user on my computer (my kid) has been using proxy servers to surf sites without my knowledge? Will Safari History indicate access to that server?
If this is occurring, can I disable the ability to do so. I don't want any anonymous surfing.

Can I find out if another user on my computer (my kid) has been using proxy servers to surf sites without my knowledge?
No. Safari doesn't keep that kind of information. If you really have some reason to believe this is being done, the best solution is to password protect your Mac so your children or anyone else cannot access it without you logging in for them.
There's nothing wrong with using anonymous proxies to surf the web; it's the content of what you think your child ma be accessing that is the problem. You cannot disable that ability. If you have no evidence to support your suspicion, then you're overreacting.

  • IOS4 - Quicktime does not accept Authenticated Proxies anymore

    Hi Guys!
My wife and I both use a Authenticated UK Proxy over Wifi on our 3GSs from Japan where we live.
She updated her phone to 4.0 this week.
Since then, when she tries to read a video stream Quicktime ignores the Proxy settings.
I did a bit of tinkering and found that anonymous proxies are still working.
The gripe is with proxies that require authentication.
So to summarize it, in Firmware 4.0 quicktime does not accept proxies with authentication anymore. It decides to simply bypass them!?!
That is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.
We are in a bind because anonymous proxies only last a few hours.
We have subscribed to a paying proxy, but it only works on my 3.1.3 phone now.
If anyone has the merest clue of what could be done, I would greatly appreciate their advice...
    Cheers, Moh

Thank you very much Apple Team for neither acknowledging this post, nor the email I sent to your support team.
That has blown the myth of Apple's superior customer care for me!

  • How to configure a free proxy

Hi, how do we configure an imac intel to use a transparent US Http proxy that does not spill our IP address. Can someone help me to do this? Using Safari 3.
    Thanks

So, which do I want? FTP proxy, Web proxy, secure web, etc.
    How can I tell?
You're the one that knows what protocols you want to proxy.
If you want to proxy HTTP, then enable the HTTP proxy and enter your HTTP proxy server address.
If you want to proxy FTP then enable the FTP proxy and enter your FTP proxy server address...
I can't tell what one(s) you want to do. I had assumed you knew.
Also, do you know a good site to find these free transparent proxies?
    Nope, sorry.
Finally, will they slow down my search speeds.
That depends on your choice of proxy.
Any connection you make will be passed to the proxy. It will forward the request for you, retrieve the response from the server and pass it back to you. Therefore you are entirely dependent on the speed of the proxy server itself, and its network connection.
There are two common uses for proxy servers, one is to (attempt to) anonymize your traffic, the other is to improve performance. The latter usually occurs when you have multiple people sharing a network connection (e.g. in an office) and the proxy can cache frequently used data.
In general, unless the proxy server you choose is directly between you and the site you're accessing, you're not likely to get any performance increase.
In addition, since anonymous proxies are sometimes used for... umm... less than honorable reasons, they are sometimes blocked by servers.
In other words, don't expect your web browsing experience to be any better for using an anonymous proxy.
I'm just trying to stream shows from the ABC site.
This will only help if they stream content over a protocol that your proxy supports.
For example, if they stream content over HTTP, you're probably OK, but if they use something like QuickTime's RSTP, RealPlayer, or (heaven forbid) WMV then setting a web proxy will have zero impact - you're not going to use it anyway.

  • Proxy Monitoring with IPS / MARS

I would like to monitor proxy bypass connections and report on them. We have MARS and IPS modules in our 2 ASA5520.

It is very difficult to detect such things effectively, even at the proxy. Many of them utilize HTTP CONNECT tunnels that look just like any other HTTPS connection to the Internet. The only thing the typical proxy sees is the "CONNECT :443". The network IDS sees even less...it only sees the SSL handshake and then encrypted data (so it has andst IP address, but that's it). Many URL filters have a category for anonymous proxies, but don't count on them stopping a determined user. They may stop the casual user from using an anonymizing service though. A network IDS/IPS is not going to do this effectively. IMHO, the proxy is the place to do this.
There are gateway(proxy) product that supports SSL inspection(MITM), like WebWasher or BlueCoat. These will be able to see the unencrypted HTTP data and will have a better chance at detection.

  • Keeping in view sercurity aspects, Is anonymox safe for use ?

I have concerns regarding security of computer and my personal privacy while using anonymox. I need some rarefactions regarding the same:-
1-Has the add-ons developed by Mozilla or it is a third party application ?
    2-Is it Safe ?

Using web based proxies and anonymous proxies in particular is always at your own risk, especially with secure connections you should be careful and never use this when paying and other financial transactions are involved.

  • Connecting by proxy.pac

I have to connect using proxy of type "domain.com:7777/proxy.pac".
How can I do this from Java?

Can you please explain a little more as what you mean by you want to connect to proxy. Do you mean you want to grab a URL via a proxy? It depends on what you want to do, there are many types of proxies, HTTP, FTP and so on. I wrote I piece of software a while back that grabs urls by using anonymous proxies. If that is what you want to do let me know and I'll dig it out

  • Proxies causing browsers to cease functioning

My old workhorse of a G4 has been developing a memory problem of late--if the power cord is unplugged for too long, even in sleep mode it drains out, causing the clock to reset to 1969 and forget my current wi-fi password.  Now though it's developed a new problem--Firefox and Safari both claim proxy settings are getting in the way. I haven't changed any settings, and on a lark I tried clicking off the http and https proxies checked off and on, to no avail.
Funny thing is, everything else works just fine--chat programs, email, anything online that isn't a browser.
So what's really causing them to be shut out?

As for the clock reset, it means that the tiny battery inside that keeps the time has gone dead, which is very likely to happen in any Mac over 5 or 6 years old. I was just reading another thread about that problem here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3296298?tstart=0
If the large rechargeable battery is running out quickly, that just means it's old. Batteries of that era would start losing charge after 300 charge cycles or so, and after 4-5 years practically all laptop batteries (Mac or PC) will not hold much of a useful charge.
The proxy one is odd. I use proxy software, and I have to keep it up to date or some sites won't work. If you are sure the proxy check boxes are unchecked in your Network preferences, the next question is, have you ever installed any software that filters your Internet connection, like ad-blocking software, hacker protection software, parental control software, virus protection software, VPN software, anonymous web surfing software, etc. Some of those may act like a proxy server. If you have these, try turning them off to see if one is causing the problem, and if you find one that is, update it to the latest version.

  • Problem in creation of ABAP proxies

    Hi,
I am trying to create proxies of Message Interfaces that are built from External Definitions(XSDs). In the scenario, we use two XSDs, one for structure of BAPI and one as Document Envelope containing header level information of the document. Message Interface is created for Document Envelope and internally it references XSD of structure of BAPI.
For e.g. For request message of BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL, we have two XSDs:
    1. BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL
    2. BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL_Document_Envelope
I create interface for document envelope; interface internally references XSD BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL.
When I try to create proxy for such an Interface I get following error:
Cannot generate proxy (object <element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST"> missing in WSDL, see long text)
    Message no. SPRX084
and diagnosis provided in long text is as follows:
    Diagnosis
In the WSDL document, the object
       "<element name="Documents"> <complex/simpleType ..."
    from the namespace
      "http://mindef.nl/schemas/DocumentEnvelope"
    links to the object
       "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">"
    from the namespace
       "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions"
However, this last object does not exist in the WSDL document.
    System Response
ABAP proxy generation expects that all directly and indirectly referenced objects are in the WSDL document. Therefore, no proxy can be generated for this WSDL and the system displays an error message.
    Procedure
This situation can have different causes:
Object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">" not been defined
Object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">" saved in the wrong namespace
In the reference to object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">", the wrong name was specified
In the reference to object "<element name="BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST">", the wrong namespace "urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions" was specified
Internal error in the service that constructs the WSDL document
Internal error in ABAP proxy generation
I have checked all the possibilities, there is no inconsistency in WSDL.
Kindly provide some suggestions to tackle this problem.
    regards,
    Bhavish Bhatia

    Hi Bhatia,
You cannot create ABAP proxies from external definitions, IDOC or BAPI, when your application system is based on 6.20.
This works only, when your application system is based on 6.40 or higher.

  • Adobe media encoder in acrobat proXI

I learned from tutorial video file of adobe that adobe media encoder is automatically installed when installing acrobat proXI.
So I tried to find out this software in my computer. but failed.
Is adobe media encoder included in acrobat pro XI as package ?
If yes, could you explain how to install adobe media encoder from installing CD ?
If not included, could I download from adobe home page at free ?
If yes, which version could I download for window 8.1 ?
    Thanks

Pull the Matrox out. Try with a standard project and likely your problems are solved.
Matrox cards are best used in a fashion they were designed for, as a doorstopper.

  • Client ID in Anonymous logon data in SICF

Hi all, I have a question on client ID field in Anonymous logon data section in Service Data of SICF. My questions are:
    1. If we have many clients in development and I want to use a specific client, I normally put the client ID value, however, in some cases, we don't put values there and wondering what client it is using by default, is there any section in SICF where I can see where is the default client ID coming from?
    2. When we want to migrate our BSP apps from DEV to QAS, and in QAS we want to use a specific client, can we still do a maintenance in SICF? I guess this question is somehow related to my question above (item 1). Anyway, if I can get answer on question 1 maybe question 2 maybe clearer.
    Please advise.
    thanks.

This is how you direct your request to a particular client thru URL
    http://<host>:8000/sap/bc/bsp/sap/testbsp/index.htm?sap-client=<client no>
<u><b>How the default client is set</b></u>
Its maintained in the profile paramter.
    login/system_client
Specifies the default client. This client is automatically filled in on the system logon screen. Users can type in a different client.

  • New Data in R/3 Enterprise - ABAP Proxies - XI what happen?

    Hi,
    i have a theoretical question:
if i use R/3 Enterprise on WAS and put new Data in the R/3 System and transport them to XI with ABAP Proxies. What happens in the systems?
How do the R/3 System put new data in the proxy runtime and send them to xi?
I want to unterstand how the transport from new data in a R/3 System with ABAP Proxies comes to the XI Integration Server.

    Hi Marcel,
    >>>>>How do the R/3 System put new data in the proxy runtime and send them to xi?
all you need to do in r3 is to fill tables of a generated structure
and execute one method of a generated class (send....)
then R3 will connect over HTTP to XI and send the data from your structures
structures and class in R3 is being generated automatically via TCODE SPROXY

  • Cloud with Proxies - Proof and solution

    Hi all,
I've struggled with this issue for a while, and read many similar posts from those having the same issue. I have found a solution that worked for me and hopefully others.
Essentially, although the Application Manager and other utilities appear to function properly inside a corporate network, the "phone home" services fail to connect, and leave you with an "expired subscription" or various messages similar to "You're not connected to the internet" and so on.
Adobe adamantly states that the software is "Proxy-aware" so there must be other unresolvable issues, and you should kindly ask your IT team to deactivate firewalls, proxies, virus-protection, etc... (yea, right...). You could also request adding exceptions to 6 or so activation servers on a range of ports, which still doesn't work, and take 6 months and 5 levels of management approval.
In reality, "proxy-aware" is only partly accurate, as shown in the graphic below. I monitored PDApp.exe (Adobe Application Manager) with the ProcessExplorer tool (Windows, sysinternals) while doing several network-active tasks to see where the traffic was being routed.
So, PDApp.exe gets correctly routed via my proxy server for installing apps, running updates, and logging in to the app when opening it up.
However, when getting "Subscription Expired" and "Unable to connect to the internet" and clicking "Try Again" or "Licence this Software", the proxy is ignored and the app attempts to connect directly to ims-na1.adobelogin.com, which fails.
The worst part of this was I went through the 5 levels of management approval and so on to get the two servers Adobe states you need access to for Cloud added as exceptions to our firewall(https://activate.adobe.com and https://lm.licenses.adobe.com/, on ports 23, 80 and 443), and still got nowhere, because without ims-na1.adobelogin.com, you can't proceed past the screen above.
    Now, for my solution:
I searched for software that would force a program to use a specific proxy. I came across lots, I have to experience with these so I can't vouch for any particular one, but I chose "Proxifier". (They have one that doesn't require an installer for those who don't have local admin rights.) This one is a trial, I'm sure there are free ones as well, just search a bit more.
The proxy server address can be deduced from watching working software traffic in Process Explorer (right click on "Internet Explorer" and got to properties, then TCP/IP, I could see the proxy being addressed under "Remote address", as see in the graphics above). Alternatively just ask your IT team.
I won't get into how to set up the software, read it's help files; what you want is to take any communications from PDApp.exe that are NOT already destined to your proxy server's address and send them to your proxy server's address. (this is important - some communications from PDApp are proxy-aware and redirecting them will cause them to fail)
Hopefully this helps a few people. Despite the issues I love Adobe's software, and am happy I am using it again.

Thanks for taking a read Jeff, and passing along the information.
My company uses an ISA proxy server (HTTP protocol)
Like many such systems, ISA server does not allow SSL tunnels to ports other than 443 and 563 by default (PDApp attempts to use ports 80 and 8080). The reasoning is that SSL tunnels bypass security policy rules and inspection and therefore creates a security risk, which is taken quite seriously (especially with a company this size (37,000+). Check out http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc302684.aspx for more detail.
As an addendum to the initial post, it is critical that the IT team allows SSL tunnels to the required ports. I hadn't noticed this originally as the policy was adjusted to allow access to the addresses Adobe originally provided.
I might add a disclaimer that the software mentioned above and similar can also be used to try and circumvent a company's internet security policies, so make sure you can demonstrate that it is being used to force the proxy server rather than avoid it!
