another "get album artwork" question
I notice that when I click "get album artwork" it seems to go through the whole library and look for cover jpegs. (in my case, that's going to take a long time!)
here's my question: it's looking for artwork, yes, but it's NOT going to do anyything to the many, many albums for which I have already (manually) added artwork, is it? If it does - I am in trouble! Please, somebody, reassure me that the artwork I have painstakingly added manually to zillions of albums is safe!

So, as another test, I uninstalled iTunes, then checked the hard drive again.
All the icons have now turned into Quicktime icons, which leads me to believe that when you look at your music in finder, it shows the icons related to your default music player.
So, my next step is to find a new default player, and maybe my album covers will show up again.

2 CSS Questions on my layout

Hi everyone, I have two CSS questions regarding my layout.
First off, it is located at:

The CSS is embeded in the file (it will linked from a
different file once I am done with this design, but beside the
point)
My first question is about how I can keep the right top image
from being bumped down to the next line when the window is resized.
I want it to squeeze into some, but then at a point have the scroll
bars kick in.
My other question is how I could make the title image "The
Scott Report" centered between the two left and right images up
top.
Could anyone help out?

Another Unlimited Data Upgrade Question

(Yes, it's another one of those questions. I'm sorry, but searching - on here, or on Google - only left me with conflicting information.)
Here's my question:
A friend of mine is interested in selling me his Galaxy Nexus phone. Would I be able to keep my single-line, grandfathered, unlimited data plan if I buy his phone and switch to it, or is that only possible if I were to buy the phone new, directly from Verizon?
Here's my story:
I have an HTC Thunderbolt that I purchased when it launched. A few months after buying it, it turned into the HTC Bad Dream, and now it's the HTC Nightmare. Random heat issues, battery draining, random reboots... It's the same song and dance we've heard before. These are design issues with the phone; not something a replacement or a repair would fix.
The real annoyance, though, is the mobile hotspot. I pay $30/month to use the hotspot legitimately, unlike the users who root their phones to use it without paying for the option, but ever since Verizon started blocking the third-party wireless tethering apps, I've had to choose between using the stock mobile hotspot app and unleashing the above-mentioned Phonemageddon, or simply going without. I could drop the option from my plan, but seeing as the unlimited data plan no longer exists, I wouldn't be able to get it back without switching to a tiered or shared plan.
Switching to a more stable phone would alleviate my issues, hopefully, but the difference between Verizon's retail prices and other retailers is hundreds of dollars. Giving up my unlimited plan, however, wouldn't make the venture worth it. A definite answer to the question of buying used - either from a Verizon representative, or a customer who's been in the same scenario before - would be very helpful.

If you provide your own equipment (your friend's Nexus or from ebay etc) then YES you can keep unlimited data. Another wayto keep unlimited would be to pay full retail for a new phone. But I'm sure your friend will give you a better deal than that

The basic difference between SAP workflow and PI cc BPM is that SAP WF is limited to steps that operate within SAP ERP system. But with ccBPM you can design a Business Process that runs across multiple systems.
For example, you can design a business process which involves getting information frm two different systems and combining it to send to a third system using ccBPM.

Have a CSS question

I have a picture i am trying to put inside a div that has a class already which makes pictures have a frame around them when i insert them into it, which is fine for the main image but i am trying to add an extra image in there and i dont want that frame to be there.
I will attach a picture and a link to the site i am talking about.
If anyone can help me with this CSS question or how i can go about getting rid of the frame around the step 1, step 2 and step 3.

CheckboxDatagrid (extended) CSS question

Hello
In our application we make use of the CheckBoxDataGrid, which rocks.
We are playing with the CSS and noticed that we arent able to change the "chromeColor" property, in CSS. Only in the MXML.
I would like to set the style in the CheckBoxDataGrid super class, but I do not see a way to specify "headerStyleName".
How and where would that occur in an extended class? Would it need to happen in the constructor?
Also, how would you re-assign the CSS, in ActionScript, in this extended DataGrid class? Any ideas?

Another canvas related question

Here is my scenario:
I have content canvas (say CC), a stacked canvas (SC) and a tab canvas (TC). On the CC, I have the TC always showing in the bottom half. In the upper half of the CC, I have some text items, list items etc always showing.
When the user selects certain options of the drop down lists in the CC and/or TC, I want to display the stacked canvas(SC) while still displaying the TC in the bottom half of the CC. SC has only a text item and an ok button on it. This text field is to capture the comments of the user. What I am trying to accomplish is to capture the user comments from the SC, assign it to a data block item when the user clicks on the 'ok' button on the SC and then hide the SC. Since there are multiple drop down list items in the SC and TC, I plan to re-use the same SC to capture the comments. Don't know if this is a good way to do it and if it can be accomplised or not. Any suggestions/ideas are appreciated.
The issue that I am facing is when I display the SC upon changing a list item in the CC, then the TC
disappears.Neither does the SC appear with the text box and the ok button on it.
1. I am using the show_view to display the SC.
2. For the SC properties itself, I set the
Raise on entry =NO, '
visible = 'YES'
3. All the canvases share the same WINDOW
4. My canvases are ordered in the following order
SC
CC
TC
5. Using forms 6i.
Pardon my ignorance about the workings of the canvases (I always struggled to understand how the various canvases work). Also, these questions were probably asked many times before....but figured might re-ask. Pls. excuse my laziness in this regard.
Questions:
1. Can I have all the 3 canvases showing at a same point in time? (does reports allow that?)
2. Has any one implemented what I am trying to accomplish? If yes, how did you do it?

If the "TC" disappears, maybe the SC overlaps it.
If the SC isn't displayed, try using a GO_ITEM('THE_TEXT_ITEM'); instead of using SHOW_VIEW.
Another option might be:
Create a second form and put the "comment-field" on a canvas in that form. In the WHEN-LIST-CHANGED-trigger where you actually show the SC, do a CALL_FORM to that new form to capture the users comment and proceed when the called form is ended.

You have 4 internal hard drive bays - use them.
A common setup:
system and apps
scratch
data and media files
and you can off load your home account to another hard drive so it doesn't interfere with system drive - and faster
if you do a lot of work with graphics or video, some volumes might want to be a stripe array (scratch, or system, or both if you want)
Four wheel drive beats single drive wheel all the time
partitions on one drive may or can but are messy in the end, while primary scratch you don't want on the system volume or the same drive as the system, CS4/5 do enough already and there is a lot of I/O going on. Same with home folder, system is reading and writing to ~/ constantly almost. Helps browsers also.
If it was an iMac or laptop, maybe not able to do an ideal setup, but you can. And on iMac now has beauty of an SSD system drive, 1-2TB data drive, and SATA for eSATA can be added.
Trouble with partitioning, they are never the right size, or you need more space or different location. You can always add PCIe SATA and external SATA drives for scratch etc if you want.

A CSS question I think

If you would take a look at this page http://www.gcfa.org/add_data.asp you will see that between the header and the navigation bar a white line is there. I don't won't it there, how can I get rid of it?

Include In Head adaptive Tag and Webcenter Default CSS questions

Hello I'm fairly new to Webcenter
I`m currently working on a project that`s requiring us to do a lot of customizing of Templates and Stylesheets changes, I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone might be able to help me with.
1) I want to inject some code into the page header of all webcenter pages. I understand that there is an adaptive tag "includeinhead", documented here:

This works, for the most part. However, for IE I would like to include the 'ie shim' which fixes behaviours for IE (adding things like border radius), etc...this code goes as follows:

As you can see, there are 'comment' tags that are not really comments, but directives to IE to process the script. This unfortunately gets parsed out by webcenter because (I assume) it just sees the whole block as a comment...So I am wondering what can be done about this.
2) I am wondering where the 'default' stylesheet that webcenter uses resides. By default, I am referring to the styles that get applied in the cases where tags are not defined in the skin file. I am having some difficulties around this because often Webcenter injects inline CSS into the controls where I don't really want it to... For example, in the "panel header" control, webcenter injects code for the title field and automatically sets the width of the cell. I would like to override this and control it completely.

Is that really a big deal or is it ok .... ? I'm always thinking .... oh god how heavy that is , anytime you call up the page the browser has to go through all that first ... is it actually ok or are there any tricks or tips ?
It's always a good idea to worry about how heavy the LINKED files are since they contribute to the overall weight of the page. The contribution of the links themselves, though, is negligable. There is also benefit in managing the order in which those links appear. Put CSS links first and follow them with javascript links (since the CSS will affect the page rendering, while the javascript most likely will not), so the browser can begin to render the page even while it's waiting for the js files to be fetched.
2 - Templates are great but If a spry is only needed on some pages,how do we handle that ? By setting up another template ? Or is there a better way ?
If you are applying Spry effects to a Template child page, DW is smart enough to drop those links into the editable region in the head of the page (which is what it should do). Just make sure that the editable region falls BETWEEN your CSS links and your JS links to allow you to arrange things as mentioned above. There is never a real need to have more than one Template per site.
3 - is it better to have 1 single compressed css file with ALL styles in it or various css files ?
There is a small performance hit everytime you have to go back to the server for another file. So two pages of the same overall weight, one with 1 externally linked file, and the other with 10 externally linked files will show a difference in their download time. How significant that difference is will depend on many variables, but it will be a real difference. That being the case, it's always better to opt for a single file than multiple files. Practically speaking, the difference will usually be small, especially when you consider how small these 'incremental' css files usually are....

Photoshop CS3 to Dreamweaver CS3 CSS question

Hi all,
I am sorry if this is allready dicussed a couple of times.I did a search and just could not find it. When I export a site from Photoshop CS3 to DIV (generate CSS by ID) it is aligned to the left and all DIV's have a specific position on the page. How can I get my site to center in Dreamweaver CS3 without having to adjust al separate DIV's?
For Example: When I export from Photoshop all slices are exported as folowed.

The answer is to not let Photoshop write either your HTML or your CSS for you. What you show is a disaster waiting to happen, really, and is characteristic of the kind of mess produced by any wizard that writes HTML based on a graphic layout. Use your graphics editors to produce your graphics. Build your page in DW. It's a much better way to go.

I understand there are lots of examples related to Active Data Service over the internet. But my query is a bit specific.
If I want to include a (Real) data source instead of faking it through Threads, what would be inside the following methods.
