Another downgrade to XP question, using R&R cd.

I have the sl300, and thinking to downgrade to xp.
Few questions:
If I use the included cd to downgrade to windows xp:
- will it also create those partitions like "servicev003" ?
- will the installation be packed with software (all the thinkvantage software?), or will it be a clean OS, just windows?
I really do want to downgrade, but don't want to put all the work in the downgrade to find out a windows xp packed with software and partitions I don't use.

If the WinXP CDs in the R&R package for the sl300 are anything like the ones for the 3000 n200, then you MUST do some preparation first.
1. on your ThinkPad, go to ThinkVantage -> Create Recovery Media and use the info on this page to create your Vista R&R disc set.

2. Make backups of all the data you want to protect.
3. Make sure you have WinXP installers for all the applications you use.
4. Once you've made your set of Vista discs; and made your data and app installs backups, then use the WinXP R&R discs to upgrade from Vista to WinXP.

ALL pre-existing HDD partitions will be destroyed when using either set of the R&R discs.
The WinXP R&R CDs will setup your system as though it had shipped from Lenovo as a WinXP system.
A WinXP recovery partition will be created.
WinXP versions of the shovelware will be installed.
Once you've done the upgrade using the R&R discs, then you can boot into the restore partition, use the Factory Restore option in Custom mode to select how to restore the OS; and deselect some of what shovelware gets installed.
Would have been better if Lenovo had put ALL the shovelware as being able to be not installed, though.

You can't.
Messages - the replacement for iChat in Mountain Lion and beyond will do Screen Sharing but only to the accounts it did in iChat 5 and 6 (actually it includes iChat 4 as well)
That is to say in earlier version of iChat you could login to AIM and Jabber servers as well as enabling the Bonjour option to chat on your LAN.
All these will do Video and Audio only chats which in turn means they will Screen Share.
At iChat 6 an Yahoo option was added but it can only Text chat (it can't even send Files or Pics)
This means only the Internet able accounts that login in to AIM or to a Jabber server can Video and therefore Screen Share.
The iMessages account will Invoke FaceTime if you use the Video icon during text chat. (I.e. it is not Video inside the app like the AIM or Jabber accounts can do)
NOTE.
AIM includes Apple Issued Apple ID as Valid AIM Screen Names.
Google Mail ID s can be used and Google Talk IDs with Messages as they run a Jabber server.
Facebook allow you to create a Chat ID (Facebook Chat ID) which is also a Jabber server.

Can this be done?

Change what you have to this -

The downside to this method is that your popup link WILL NOT

Another Unlimited Data Upgrade Question

(Yes, it's another one of those questions. I'm sorry, but searching - on here, or on Google - only left me with conflicting information.)
Here's my question:
A friend of mine is interested in selling me his Galaxy Nexus phone. Would I be able to keep my single-line, grandfathered, unlimited data plan if I buy his phone and switch to it, or is that only possible if I were to buy the phone new, directly from Verizon?
Here's my story:
I have an HTC Thunderbolt that I purchased when it launched. A few months after buying it, it turned into the HTC Bad Dream, and now it's the HTC Nightmare. Random heat issues, battery draining, random reboots... It's the same song and dance we've heard before. These are design issues with the phone; not something a replacement or a repair would fix.
The real annoyance, though, is the mobile hotspot. I pay $30/month to use the hotspot legitimately, unlike the users who root their phones to use it without paying for the option, but ever since Verizon started blocking the third-party wireless tethering apps, I've had to choose between using the stock mobile hotspot app and unleashing the above-mentioned Phonemageddon, or simply going without. I could drop the option from my plan, but seeing as the unlimited data plan no longer exists, I wouldn't be able to get it back without switching to a tiered or shared plan.
Switching to a more stable phone would alleviate my issues, hopefully, but the difference between Verizon's retail prices and other retailers is hundreds of dollars. Giving up my unlimited plan, however, wouldn't make the venture worth it. A definite answer to the question of buying used - either from a Verizon representative, or a customer who's been in the same scenario before - would be very helpful.

If you provide your own equipment (your friend's Nexus or from ebay etc) then YES you can keep unlimited data. Another wayto keep unlimited would be to pay full retail for a new phone. But I'm sure your friend will give you a better deal than that

Or what is your question really about? Since you talke about foreign keys etc, I suspect that you want to transfer the entire table definition, but you cannot do that with an INSERT statement.

Helps if I give the correct link ! <br/>The press shift button appears to still work, but the option to start in safe mode from the programs listing of a standard install I do not think exists anymore.
Safe mode will start from a command line, (or a shortcut) and in some circumstances you may need to enter the full path name on a command or shortcut detailed instructions are at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
Remember (at least at this stage) do not make changes when you get the options list, just click on the continue button.
If you think that RealPlayer is causing the problem you could uninstall that for now.
Firefox recent versions are 3.6 4.0 (and 5.0 in beta). There is some debate as to whether creating new profiles or re-installing Firefox is the simplest method of troubleshooting and solving some of these problems, personally I use multiple profiles and multiple versions of Firefox, and tend to forget the required procedures are less than straightforward. For now at least try [[safe mode]] again.

A third-party app probably cannot obtain a stream from another app. To the best of my knowledge, such a capability is not provided in the software development kit, apps being "sandboxed" from each other and so allowed to communicate only in very specific and limited ways.
I'm not completely sure what you mean by "limitations on video capture". An iPhone, to the best of my knowledge, can natively record video only through it's built-in camera, and audio while doing video recording only through the built-in microphone or mic/headphone jack. There might be a video recording app that would allow audio input from an external device connected to the dock connector, but I'm not sure.

Don't expect any wonders. If you use it heavily with multiple applications running at the same time, nobody can help you. It's physics: more usage => higher energy consumption.
Here you can find some tips to reduce the battery consumption. My tip: close applications if you don't need them right now and reduce screen brightness.

Interactive questions using IP/TV

I am interested in how users can post questions using IP/TV while the presentation is ongoing. What is the process behind this as I don't really see how it works, any kind of insight would be useful.

When you set up the program, you can (or not) enable interactive "from the field" questions.
The client provide a button that can be pressed to flag the presenter that a field question is pending.
The presenter can then address the questions as possible.
Depending on the scope and location of the audience, you may also consider bringing up a conference bridge for voice-based questions.

The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.
