Another major bug - titles get lost!

This is a bug which has existed through iMovie 09 and still plagues me. Is this the right place to report it?
What happens is that I amend some titles in my project and then move on, perhaps working on another project or closing iMovie and re-opening it later. When I do so, I notice that none of my title changes were saved!! 8-(
It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens often enough that I get caught out and end up publishing videos (as I did today) with credits which are wrong, for example.
Very embarrassing and I really hope Apple look into it, as it's driving me insane......

The usual advice here is to ensure that you click "Done" after amending a title. However, I've found that even doing this doesn't always cause the title to "stick". It seems to come undone after quitting iMovie. The next time iMovie is opened, the title reverts back to the previous edit. In some cases, people have reported that it defaults to the title default text. It doesn't seem to be consistent, and there doesn't appear to be any pattern to it - it just strikes now and then!

ANOTHER MAJOR BUG

I use software samplers and synthesizers;EXS24 with its Virtual Memory option turned on, Komplete 5, Camel Audio Alchemy, FAW Circle, their latest versions, etc.
When I open my projects, its already using 3.3GB of VM. If i do a simple save (before even playing through or recording any midi or loading any more synths) the VM jumps up to 3.6 another save pushes it to 3.8 and then 1 more save pushes it to 3.99GB where it crashes. Stated in the "Logic Pro 8 Technical Specifications", under "Extreme Compatibility". it says "Support for Audio Units plug-ins."
Is there not a way to increase the VM or is logic only capable of addressing up to 4GB? Why doesnt it use Real memory first? As when it crashes it says its only addressing 2.17GB of 'Real Memory'?

I have done some exploring online and found the following info regarding this issue, as follws:
"1. 32bit logic does not have enough internal memory to run even fairly modest 3rd party libraries/plug-ins.
2. therefore logic would have to become 64bit and the 3rd party plug-ins will have to use the same mmap trick (Virtual Memory Option turned ON) as the exs24.
3. the mmap functionality requires a certain amount of internal logic memory to make work. this severely curtails the amount of memory you have for your 3rd party stuff, which is why reducing your physical RAM could actually increase how much you have available for logic. the amount of memory logic sets aside to run mmap is set in your plist file. even a fairly low level programmer could adjust this. i have had mine adjusted and it has made a huge difference.
4. the only real solution for those who are working with a fair amount of 3rd party stuff is to use an AU host. this really is not the end of the world and actually brings its own benefits. in this case a 32bit au host has its own 4 Gb memory space which makes far better use of your systems RAM.
5. logic is much more stable close to its memory limits than it ever has been before, but it reaches the limit far sooner because of the 512 Mb set aside to run mmap. i stress, if you are running close to the memory limit you need to consider an AU host.
6. it absolutely has nothing to do with computer model, intel vs PPC, or whether your RAM is paired, coloured purple or has furry dice hanging off of it. it is all to do with the internal RAM address space limitation with logic.
some further thoughts:
- generally if you get the unable to save message, it may not save anyway. look for the file with a tilda ( ~ ) after it.
- there are many features in logic which have not been thought all the way through; file management, communication with other DAWs, beat mapping, working with video, the library drawer, score editing, and finally mmap.
mmap was clearly meant to address the problem of working with large libraries and is partially a good solution. but the reality is, most modern sound libraries are only available for 3rd parties plug-ins and not available for the exs. missing this point makes the mmap virtually a redundant feature - how can you miss it? simply saying its up to the 3rd party manufacturers to sort out is not helpful to the poor user who is wondering why their expensive macpro with a gazillion gigabytes of RAM falls over sooner and runs no faster than their old coal-powered G5.
having spoken to very smart programmers not related to logic development (that i know of) there are a myriad ways of exploiting RAM on your system and certain advantages at least in the short term to remaining a 32bit application. logic developers have not thought all the way through the problem of running large libraries and this annoys me somewhat. an integrated secondary hosting program such as RAX or plogue bidule, created by the logic developers would be much easier and more efficient to manage, more tightly integrated and would make a lot more sense than an obscure programming trick that they didn't even announce when it came out.
a big problem of running combined libraries is that when switching songs, the 3rd party samples have to be reloaded. keeping them in plogue bidule running in rewire, means that switching songs takes a fraction of the time it used. the technology exists for logic to run a secondary application very easily and would have been a far more practical and obvious solution than the one they came up with, because the situation as we have it means that people get burned all the time as they come against the memory wall."

The problem is that I burned these CD's myself from music that I added from my personal collection to iTunes. The INFO is ON the CD's (it appears perfectly when I put the CD in my Numark mixer...so I know the info is on the CD), but for some reason, my MAC PRO will NOT read the info on the burned CD when I place the CD into the MAC PRO. The CD was burned on a MAC that I no longer own. But there HAS to be a way to transfer songs from a burned CD with the INFO that is on the CD burned with iTunes.

Major bug in Safari 6: previous domain persists in URL bar when clicking a link

I've noticed an extremely weird and significant bug in Safari 6 / Mountain Lion:
When I'm navigating through a site, sometimes when clicking a link, Safari tries to open the corresponding URL on a previously visited site's domain instead of the current site.
For example:
First, I'm surfing on apple.com. Then, I navigate to another site, say estibot.com. On estibot.com, I click on a link that should take me to:
http://www.estibot.com/tools.html
Instead, safari takes me to http://www.apple.com/tools.html, which of course produces a 'not found' error. Nothing wrong with the link; this is purely Safari's doing.
This happens often, and apparently can happen with any site.
In other words, the domain name of a previously visited site persists in the URL, and the page that I'm trying to navigate to is added to the domain of the PREVIOUS site, not the actual site I'm using.
This is a major bug and is often rendering Safari useless for my workflow. How could a bug like this end up in the finished product?

Having the same problem. It is randomly consistent, i.e. some links consistently get redirected to a specific domain. For example, I am experiencing this issue when using Basecamp and links being misdirected to a specific client's website. However, the criteria for why some links redirect and some do not appears random. This issue does not occur in Firefox. This leads me to believe that it is not a DNS issue. May be a Safari/DNS pair issue or solely a Safari issue. We do use an internal DNS (OS X Server) for browsing internal development wbsites which then rolls over to a public DNS. Again, this problem has never occured in Firefox and consistently occurs in Safari.

On a side note...
Safari's strong-handed rewriting in the address bar as you type is crazy anoying. Or should I say "too helpful?" It seems to break the first rule of usuability: don't change the interface while the user is interacting with it.
And the unified address/search is rediculously annoying for developers who use non-complient top level domains for internal development (such as .dev)
And the new inspector seems like a huge step backwards in usuability. (debatable considering I'm probably not as advanced as some developers.)

Computation Columns in IR get lost

Hei,
i have an IR with many computation columns in saved reports.
Whenever the source table structure is changed (new column, delete column, etc), all computation columns are moved to non-visible sides of reports.
Is this a bug or a feature? ;)

As you need to be on 10.6 to be able access the App Store to download Lion, either get replacement discs via Applecare (you'll need the MBP's serial number to get the right ones) or get the SL retail disc. I would recommend the Original disc replacement set (assuming they were 10.6) as they carry not onlyApple Hardware Test for your model, but the iLife apps other bundled sftware that isn't on the retail disc.
Once you've installed, and used Software Update to get to 10.6.8, you can then get Lion if you're feeling masochistic.

Data getting lost in essbase

We use a replicated partition to copy data from planning to essbase application. Partition works fine and data gets copied. We have another separate maxl script which does changes to the outline. This script exports the data from essbase, clears the database, updates the outline, reimports the exported data and does a cube build. Once this maxl completes, whatever data copied from planning is lost. But if I look at the export file, planning data exist in the export file. We know import process is working fine, because other data not loaded thru partition exist in essbase.. Only data loaded from planning gets lost..
Can someone help me on this issue?

1. You maxl does the following things
exports data
clears data
updates the outline
reimports the data
2. After you reimport,Are you trying to retrive to confirm the data ?
3. After you reimport the data, check the properties of database ( check whether the new blocks have been loaded , and increased the count ).
4. Are you exporting all data , or only level 0 ?
5. If its only level 0, You need to aggregate or consolidate ( by running calculation script).

Parameter of Source-portion of url gets lost

following Situation:
Default List-View-WebPart from a custom List added to a Enterprise-Wiki-Page.
First column in the List-View is the edit button to open the related edit-Form.
Because of a custom Edit-Form which is not set as the default for edit i have to relink to my specific Form.
I have done this by this script which is included by Script-Editor-WebPart:

If i click a edit button to open my edit form everything works fine and the URL has correct values. The source Portion works fine if i close the edit form (save or cancel). So far so good.
In last mentioned edit form i have another List-View-WebPart (Added through SharePoint-Designer) which holds data of a related list. Filter is working fine here. For this List-View i also have to relink the edit button to another specific edit form. I have
done this in the same way as i did it before. The important part of the script:

This also works fine. Source Portion is shown and correct. If i copy the source Portion and paste it to a new browser tab it is working fine. But if i Close this edit form (save or cancel) a Parameter of the source portion of the URL gets lost somehow and

Just mask the ampersand for Parameters in source Portion with %26

Two major bugs in Lion - Zoom and Safari auto fill search bar

hey there
every since I updated to Lion I've been experiencing two major bugs... zoom randomly stops working (the one where you press control and zoom in and out) even though it's set to work on the settings. Safari is also experincing a problem concerning the search bar. mine is set to google and whilst on full screen mode, it randomly stops auto filling as opposed to what happens in non full screen mode. I actually need to get off full scren mode and go back to it to make it work again. as to the zoom thing, I need to restart my computer everytime is stops working. any ideas ? thanx !!

You don't need to restart. Quit Safari or logout and back in.

You should always use beta test versions with a new and separate profile and keep the regular release so you can use that version in case of problems.

Firefox 4.0b1 is the first of the beta test release versions and still has a lot of bugs.
Such releases are meant for testing only so if bugs are found then they can get reported and fixed before the final 4.0 version gets released.
If you do not have experience with such test releases then you are better of with the latest Firefox 3.6.6 release.

Anchor mobility configuration getting lost in wlc 5508 ios code 7.4.100.0

It is observed that in WLC 5508 , ios 7.4.100.0 , mobility anchor configuration on wlan is getting lost . we configure anchor ip address on guest wlan > mobility anchor > Switch IP Address (Anchor).
We have configured the template on NCS 2.0 to push the anchor mobility ip address on all WLC
Has anyone oberved this behavoiur. We have more than 100 WLC , and everyweek mobility anchor configuration is lost on some WLC having code 7.4.100.0.

I am having this exact same problem. I am running 7.3 on 5508 WLC. My remote site LAP's are using Flex (HREAP). The initial access point that my laptop associates to connects with no problem, as soon as I wander out of range of the initial LAP and into the area of another access point, I lose data connectivity. The was validated like the original post as I start a constant ping on the LAN and watch as the ping latency increases and then ping replies stop. The only way to correct the problem is resetting of the wireless adapter on the laptop. Side note my DroidX has no problem wandering from AP to AP.
Laptop: Windows 7 32bit
I then returned to my home site and test where I have a secondary controller and the LAP's are configured for local mode, no problems roaming from access point to access point. Validated with constant ping test. The pings drop for a second and re-
continues as the laptop reconnects.
**Edit: I am going to try the removing the DHCP Addr. Assignment required option, and report that back to the TAC engineer.

The problem is in deed solved by turning the "DHCP Address Required" but why?

Did copy paste between projects get lost in LG 9?

A thing I often did in LG 8, was copying a bunch of midi regions from one LG project to another.
It was brilliant, as you just select the regions in one sequence, copy them, go to the other sequence, hit paste and it would ask if I wanted to paste them on track with the same name or something like that, and it would always put the regions on the right tracks in the same track setup.
Now, in LG 9, when I try doing that, it doesn't ask me anything, and just sticks all the tracks at the bottom of my sequence when I hit paste.
If I only had 5 tracks that wouldn't be such a big deal, but my template has 600 tracks, and dragging the regions on the right tracks takes way too much time.
Is this a setting I need to click somewhere, or did this feature get lost in LG 9?
I know about the import setting, but that takes too much time and in a template with 600 tracks I woulnd't instantly know which tracks I contain regions.

Doesn't look as good where? Remember that iMovie display is only a preview. Also QT Player defaults to low-res display of DV clips.
I am using Expert Settings
iMovie's expert settings are buggy so use the Full Quality preset instead.

Ink annotations get lost during word 2007 - pdf conversion

Hi,
I am trying to convert a word 2007 document into a .pdf using Acrobat Professional 9. The problem is, the ink annotations get lost in the process. A colleague does not have the same problem. I an very sure that I have never changed any preferences.

You did not give all of the information. The current version of AA9 is 9.4.7. If you have 9.0, you should do the updates until you get to 9.4.7. Also, I assume you are not using a 64-bit machine, an appropriate comment at this time.
That being said, I did run your DOCX file in WORD 2007 and AA 9.4.7 on a 32-bit Win7 system. With PDF Maker, I got the same result as you. With a print to the Adobe PDF printer, I did get the markup that you wanted. If bookmarks and tags are not of concern to you, then using the printer might be the best route for now. There appears to be a bug in PDF Maker that has not been noted before and you have brought to the front. I am not sure how the annotations are done, but apparently PDF Maker did not catch them.

AIR - Major Bug (?) with MovieClip class

We are a team of developers working on ActionScript 3.0 project using Adobe AIR SDK and Adobe Flex SDK. During the development we discovered what seems to be a major problem with getting MovieClip instances to play correctly. More specifically, the problem has to do with the gotoAndStop method. If, using the gotoAndStop method, you perform a for loop over all MovieClip frames (from the 1st frame to the last one) and go back to the 1st frame again, then, after adding MovieClip to the Stage, the 1st frame won't be set, contrary to what's expected. Instead, the MovieClip selects the last frame, which messes things up. Are there any solutions to the described problem, other than switching to the right frame after the object has been added to Stage?
This seems like a 'no way out' situation - any help would be much appreciated.
A note: MovieClip itself is being imported from the 'swc' file.

Is it a major fix to get touchpad click back?

Folks:
I've had my iBook for maybe 6 or 7 years, had the HD replaced under warranty 3 years in and more or less it just keeps going. Recently had an issue where tapping or clicking on the touchpad would do nothing . . . my first thought was system failure, but then I plugged a USB mouse into it and it works. Question is whether it's a major problem to get the touchpad tap or click repaired, or whether it's smarter to just use a mouse until it falls to the ground? It's handy to have an older computer to schlep around without having to worry about it, but being able to use the touchpad is easier than dragging the mouse out, etc.

Thanks kindly for the fast reply . . . no, I have not tried reset on the PMU . . . . One thing to mention, the trackpad itself "works" meaning that I can move the cursor around by using the trackpad, but when I try to click by either tapping or clicking on the clickpad . . . nothing happens. I didn't think of the word "clickpad" until now, but it is click or clickpad that doesn't work . . . the touchpad is somewhat functioning.
Anyway, I'm away from that computer right now, so it'll take me until tonight or tomorrow before I could play with it . . . wasn't expecting a fast answer, I have another post on the MBP forum from a few days ago still languishing there unresponded to. But, it seems that doing the PMU reset is fairly drastic?? or is it no biggie and it's just the time that I need to re-set afterward??
