Another Mpeg 4 H264 query

Hello,
Christmas greetings to one and all. I have a format problem with a sanyo xacti camera that Santa brought for my son. It is recording in 1920x1080 at 60i, and we are having difficulty in getting them into FCE. Obviously I am in Pal land, and have read on the forum about mpeg streamclip which we have downloaded.We have tried to convert the file in streamclip to Apple intermediate codec at the settings of 1920 x1080 but at 50 i so that it would hopefully fit in with another sequence I have shot on my sony fx1. However, when we import it into FCE, it is arriving with a red render bar over the top of it. It seems that we are doing something incorrectly, so the question is can anyone give us some advice,
Thanks and best regards.
Dave

sorry to keep coming back to this one, but I just cannot get it to go into FCE without needing rendering. The clip plays back in the viewer, but has the dreaded red bar when it's popped onto the timeline.
The clip properties on the timeline are as follows, size 1920 x 1080 rate 29.97 (which was the setting in streamclip), compressor AIC, (again this was set in streamclip), pixel aspect square (could this be the problem?) data rate 9.8 mb/s , fileld dominance upper. In addition I have set the prefernces in streamclip to sample the audio at 48 Khz.
i have used easy setup to set up both an AIC and HD timeline with all frame rates. I'm completely at a loss with this now, so any further help would be appreciated.
Thanks and regards
Dave

    I am trying to get the rowid of my master record passed to

    have a way to show other detail tables for my master record. I
    have been successful in calling the other forms, but only if I

    Ultimately a "Tabbed" HTML table for each supporting detail

  • Calling another form in query only mode

    Dear all,
    Please clarify me which parameters to use while calling another form in query only mode in
    fnd_function.execute.
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hi,
    According to standard doc:
    When you define a form function in the Form Functions window or call an existing form function using FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE or
    APP_NAVIGATE.EXECUTE, you can add the string:
    QUERY_ONLY=YES
    to the string in the Parameters field or in the arguments string (using the other_params argument). This argument causes the form to be
    called in query–only mode. The FND_FUNCTION.EXECUTE procedure (which is also used by the Oracle Application Object Library
    Navigator) sets the QUERY_ONLY flag that sets all database blocks to non–insertable, non–updatable, and non–deletable.
    Hope it helps.

  • Is a MPEG h264 faster to render than a QuickTime PNG?

    I have a 2 minute composition (1920 x 1080). I renered it out once as a mpeg 4 (h264) and resized the final output to 852 x 480. It took roughly 12 minutes. I rendered it out again at the full size (1920 x 1080) as a Quick Time with the PNG sequence codec. It takes over an hour. I know the Quick Time with the PNG sequence codec is a much more high resolution format....so that is why it took longer to render, right?

    I was going to ask you about MP.... MOST MOVIE CODECS, avi, mov, wmv, do not support multi processing Some kill it badly. I only have MP turned on if I am not using AE's 3D Ray-tracing turned on, I am not using any 3rd party plug-ins, I am not rendering audio, I am rendering to an image sequence. That's more than 95% of the time that I have MP rendering turned off.
    How can I take the increase in rendering time you ask? Simple, I never wait for renders unless all my other work is done. I do my work in AE, send the Comps to the Adobe Media Encoder, then jump back in AE, or Premiere, or Photoshop and continue my work as my projects render in the background. That's the only way I can be productive. Working in AE, droping a comp in the Render Cue and then waiting for the render to move to the next step is just not an option. I have not worked that way, or cued things up to render overnight, since the AME has been available.
    Disk cache, caching previews in the background, and the other workflow improvements do make AE easier to use, and I utilize them but never at full rez. I also never do full frame full rez ram previews, seldom do ram previews longer than a few seconds, or waste time looking at things over and over again and tweaking a frame or two here and there that isn't perfect. Once you gain some experience you will know what you've got when you set up your animation, check a few motion tests, color correct a few critical frames, and send things off to render. I spent years shooting 16mm and 35mm film and sending it off to the lab and except for a very few occasions the first 3 months of my career, I got back exactly what I expected. It's all a part of learning your craft.

  • Yet Another ADS related query

    Hi,
    I understand there are lots of examples related to Active Data Service over the internet. But my query is a bit specific.
    If I want to include a (Real) data source instead of faking it through Threads, what would be inside the following methods.
    void startActiveData(Collection<Object> rowKeys,int startChangeCount){}
    void stopActiveData(Collection<Object> rowKeys){}
    Any sample (runnable) code would be much much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    TimoOk, let me put my query in another way.
    I just want a sample code to be written inside the following two methods.
    void startActiveData(Collection<Object> rowKeys,int startChangeCount){}
    void stopActiveData(Collection<Object> rowKeys){}
    wrt to this link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31974/adv_ads.htm#CIHDIGID where these methods are not implemented. (they have commented out like "// Not needed. We do not need to connect to a (real) active data scource."). Can I have a sample method implementation with "real" datasource?...

  • Another question about query execution speed.

    I know I should normally start with posting the query but my question will take a little different direction, so here is the deal:
    We have an Apex application, there is a query on one of the pages that for certain users takes quite long, lets say 1min to 2 min, depending on how many records the query returns. The actual query varies depedning on some security settings and other parameters on the page - it's constructed by pl/sql function returning sql.
    By querying v$sql I get the exact sql run by the user for who the query takes long time to execute.
    Then I run that same sql statemt in Toad and it always takes 2 seconds to execute. For the user executing the same sql from Apex takes consistently 50-100 sec. My Toad is set to return up to 10,000 records and the query returns less than 500.
    Can somebody help me make some sense of this?

For instance, depending on the type of pagination you have enabled it needs to get the total number of rows to display "x to y of z" (or to display the message "more than nnn rows found"). Have you enabled debugging in Apex to be sure that most of the waiting time is spent on that query?

  • Another Art/Graphics query

    Podcast has been in the iTunes store for many months. The main Podcast page shows the <itunes:image> graphic, but my Podcasts subscription page does not. Furthermore, I recently noticed another Podcast showing artwork in my iPod, and ours does not do that either. Comparing to that other Podcast, I can't seen any relevant difference in my feed.
    Feed checks out with the w3c validator (other than not having the atom self reference, but I just recently took that out to see if it was the cause of the problem).
    I've recently changed the image from png to jpg just in case that was the cause, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.
    http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=308067537
    http://trinityfellowship.net/podcast-rss.xml
    Thank you for any assistance.
    Doug

    The image you see on the Store page is the 'Podcast Image', referenced by the 'itunes:image' tag in the top section of your feed: it's related to the entire podcast.
    When you subscribe and look at the list in iTunes you select individual episodes, and if they have an embedded image then that is what appears - it can be different for each episode. The 'Podcast image' does not appear in list view.

  • Another MPEG-2 Question

    I need to have some movie files that can play without QuickTime. Heresy, I know. They need to be somewhat generic .mpg files that will play on a PC regardless of which player is installed. In fact for the purpose of this project...QuickTime is not desired on the target system.
    I realize QT Pro will not export MPEG-2 and some other stuff. I know the MPEG-2 QT component is a separate purchase but the Apple site is bit fuzzy on details. As strange as it may seem, I need to import .mov files and convert them to .mpg. Will the MPEG-2 QuickTime add on allow me to do this?

    Microsoft (in their infinite wisdom) doesn't support "Industry Standard" MPEG-4 formats (the type of file created by QuickTime Pro).
    In order for the .mp4 file to play on Windows it must use the QuickTime Player. To view Windows versions of .mp4 files Mac users must use Media Player.
    The easiest way to create a MPEG-1 file is to use Toast.
    Create a VCD ( a conventional CD that plays back in a set top DVD player) using your .mov files and Toast. You need not "burn" the CD. Toast allows you to make a Disk Image.
    Open the Disk Image (.dmg) in the Mac Finder. Drag the blah.DAT file to the Desktop.
    Change the .DAT file extension to .mpg (confirm the change) and you'll have an MPEG-1 file that Windows users can open with their favorite media player. Mac users can open the .mpg with QuickTime (or other media players).

  • Default value from another table - sql query

    I'm trying to make the default value of a text item as the result from an sql or pl/sql statement. I keep getting errors when I try to use a pl/sql statement to do this. Has anyone else done this?

    OK, here is what I tried to put in. I have a form and I wanted to add a text field that is derived from another table, such as:
    select question from qa_main where seq=:quest_num
    So, what I want is to have a form where questions on tests are answered, and I want the text of the question to be brought over from the question table. I'm not sure if I'm using the correct syntax, but the ":quest_num" would be a reference to a question number in the answer table that is linked to the sequence number (primary key) in the questions table.
    Of course if there are better ideas, please let me know. :)

  • When I type the text in the google search box the first time the text is visible. Then if I try to type the text again for another seach or query in the text box, the typed text is not visible and it is visible only if I highlight the whole text.

    I can send you an attachment of the screen but you have not given the option of adding an attachment.

  • ANOTHER forgotten passcode query...but a bit different...

    Hey guys,  I've had an iphone 5s as my work phone for the past couple of months now, used to have the standard 4 digit code, with the fingerprint.  We have an MDM software on the phones and we had to input a new 8 digit passcode!!!!
    Low and behold, i've switched it off...actuyally off...for the first time since we've put the codes in and yep...i've forgotten the passcode!!  Now i'm locked out of the phone, i would of tried the itunes restore but ALL of my backups are done via cloud and as such has never been on itunes.  Everytime i plug it in it just says 'cannot sync as you're locked out'
    Anything i can do - other than disect my brain to see where the f**** i left the passcode!

    You'll need to put it into recovery mode, then restore.
    When plugged into the computer, hold the home and power button until the apple logo appears.
    It should have a connect to itunes logo, then you restore in itunes.
    You will still be able to restore from icloud afterwards during the stup assistant

    There's lots of myths and opinions on the 10 day period. I deal with DSL connections every day and below I'll explain exactly how it works.
    The first 10 days is used to determine the fault threshold rate for the line. The FTR is something that is set to allow a fluctuation in sync speed (as it's rate adaptive) without it being deemed a fault.  I believe that the FTR is set at 80% of the lowest sync rate over the first 10 days.
    If you start messing around in the first 10 days then you could affect the fault threshold rate and have an unrealistic FTR for your line which could in future hinder you getting an fault looked into.
    For example. If you have a line that is capable of 15meg but during the first 10 days you turn it on and off when using the internet, or have it plugged into a dodgy extension which causes the line to sync at 4meg then the FTR would be set at about 3200kbps. Now, if you remove the faulty extension and achieve the 14 or 15meg but then get a fault at some point in the future between your home and the exchange and your speed drops to 6 meg, BT Wholesale wouldn't have to accept and investigate the fault as it's connecting above the fault threshold rate. Even though your line is capable and has been achieving more.
    As mentioned above DLM works in the same way from day 1 of a circuit. If it's a good line and no noise you'll get the best the line can support but if some noise develops then DLM will do its job. Just as it would do if you didn't experience the noise until 6 months after the circuit was installed.
    When an SNR reset is done on a circuit it causes the circuit to be re-entered into a 10 day period and the FTR is recalculated. The main purpose for this is if you've had a faulty line since installation which has subsequently been fixed then your line can be given a more realistic FTR value
