Another person used my email to create a account.

I haven't used my Skype account for a while, then, today when i try to use it, my email, that i use for years, is being used by another person.
I retrieved the password, but i can't change the username.
How can i retrieve my username and associate it with my email again?

just like the title you entered say, somebody created an account using your email address, which means that the account you requested a password reset for is not your account.  when there is more than one account associated with a certain email address, there will be a dropdown menu in the reset password page where you can select the account you want to request a password reset token for.  So you may need to request for a new password token, and be sure to select your account's username.
on the other hand, you can report that unrecognized account to [email protected]

  • Another person using my email

I have an ongoing issue with someone using my email address for their verizon account, and I would really appreciate some help in solving it. I get multiple emails from their account per day (because they also signed up for "Family Base," despite apparently being allergic to getting their own emails) and the occasional times I get a message that has an unsubscribe link, when I click on it it tells me that my email is not found. This is incredibly frustrating and I want it to stop.

Let's get this email issue resolved pronto khuang1! Please follow me (I am now following you) and send me a direct message and I will make sure to have this issue corrected so that you no longer get emails intented for one our customers.

  • I just created an iCloud email and I want to use that email for my iTunes account as well. I need help suiting the old apple I'd because I do not remember anything associated with that email and I don't know the security questions

I just created an iCloud email and I want to use that email for my iTunes account as well. I need help switching the old apple ID because I do not remember anything associated with that email and I don't know the security questions or the login for that old email.

You cannot do that.  The AppleID you used to create the iCloud account is an active primary email address.  The email address you created with the iCloud account is also an active primary email address (all Apple domain email address automatically become AppleIDs as well).  You cannot replace the primary email address on one active AppleID with the primary email address on another, active AppleID.
You can use your iCloud email/AppleID with iTunes, but it will be a separate account, so all your previous purchases remain tied to the other AppleID you have.
I don't understand your statement that you could not remeber your old AppleID password, as you would have had to use it to create the iCloud account in the first place (the first step of creating the iCloud account required you to login with your existing AppleID and password)?

  • There is another person using my company name.

We have a very distinct and unique name yet there is another person using that esact comapny name as a personal contact. How do I get this person to stop using my company name? Isnt this a form of identity theft? How do I proceed to take legal action in this case?

Hi, PhoenixSymphony, and welcome to the Community,
In the USA, if your company name is trademarked or copyrighted, there are legal remedies which you should discuss with an attorney.  As far as identity theft is concerned, seek counsel with your local law enforcement agency.  Hopefully you reside in a jurisdiction where cybercrime is taken seriously.
If you wish to contact Skype Customer Service as well, please be neither alarmed nor surprised if you are asked to verify the company name is indeed "yours."  You may be requested to provide documentation, the process of which is explained in this FAQ article:

  • Hi, I use two email addresses within one account with gmx.  I created one account with the first email address now. How do I add the second one to this account? Now it looks like this. One account was opened with address A. I receive in this account email

Hi, I use two email addresses within one account with gmx.
I created one account with the first email address now. How do I add the second one to this account?
    Now it looks like this.
One account was opened with address A.
I receive in this account emails for address A and B.
But I can only write and answer with address A.

    Hi Rudegar,
    Sorry for my late reply.
It s not the amount of accounts I'm struggling with.
When I create now for both email addresses one account, then I receive the same emails two times.
That is not what I want.
Because on gmx the two email addresses have the same inbox and outbox.
E.g. I can login to my gmx account either with email A or B. It doesn't matter.
Now I want to have the same on my ipad.
One account with both email addresses.

Another person set up my mac 3 years ago and used their apple id to download apps but I no longer know them. How do I do updates for my apps with my id?

You cannot. You will need to Purchase those Apps using Your Apple ID.
Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

  • HT204380 If I make a FaceTime call from a iphone 4s or 4 to another one using the email, does it gets registered as a call in the monthly bill?

I just want to know if the call gets registered on the bill when making a FaceTime call from iphone to iphone using the email.

No, it doesn't get registered as a call as it functions simply as data through Wi-Fi

  • Someone is using my email to a skype account

Someone used my email address to create this Skype account. I received an email in my inbox saying "hello spikenhh". I don't know who the person that created "spikenhh" is. I went in and changed the password for this account, just for security reasons, in case the person is trying to impersonate me. I don't even want a Skype account, and it seems there's no wayto delete an account. How can Skype allow people to use other people's email addresses to sign up forSkype? This is ridiculous. Delete this account and my email address from your system. I don't want anythingto do with you.

    you may need to contact customer service to report that user and to request to unlink your email address from that unauthorized account;

  • Somone using my email for their bt account....help...

please help ive spent the last week being pushed from one department to another. It started last weekend when i got an email telling me my account was now set up online and i could enter all my details. Thinking this was spam i deleted it. Since then i have received 2 more telling me my first bill is now available to view online and another today confirming my direct debit will be taken shortly.
The problem is these emails are nothing to do with me or my account and are addressed to someone else, they also give the other persons partial account number. I raised a complaint on tues 6th march and an automated email said it was being looked into and i would hear within 72 hours. since then i havent heard a thing. I have tried calling and get transferred to billing, then technical, back to billing, then to broadband billing and ended up getting cut off! It doesnt help that i am told BT are unable to use someones name to search for their account. This would be a massive help as the account could then be found and my email removed!
I want to know how my email has ended up on somone elses account, this is a massive breech of security and open to abuse of my personal details.
I dont want to post the other persons name, partial account number or my complaint issue number on here as i think there has been enough use of other peoples information in this issue already!!
Someone please help as im going round in circles and getting nowhere

  • Error using multiple email addresses in IMAP account

Thanks for reading - any help, advice or direction you can offer is very much appreciated!
Here is my situation: I use a single IMAP account with several email addresses. If it's important to know, they are all set up as aliases, so I can receive mail in one single account at all of the addresses and can send email from any of the addresses through the same SMTP account.
This behaves radically differently in Mail (iPhone and iPad) under iOS 6 than it did in iOS 5, and I need the behavior I had in iOS 5.
I am seeking help in figuring out how to make iOS 6 Mail behave the way iOS 5 Mail did.
Here's how I set it up in iOS 5: I used the primary email address (also my login for the IMAP/SMTP account) to set up the account on the iPad. This all worked. Once it was set up, I went back to settings and added the other email addresses as a comma-separated list in the "email" field after the primary one.
Then, when I went to compose a message (from mail, or from any other app), the default "from" address was the primary e-mail address (the first one listed), and it allowed me to tap on the "from" field and select a different one.
This changed in iOS 6, like this:
I set up the account the same way as above. With just the primary e-mail address it was fine. But when I added the other addresses and saved it, it seemed to choose one address at random from the list as primary (not the first one, not the last one, not the one first or last alphabetically, just one in particular - and the same one each time I tried this). Then when I compose mail, it defaults to that alternate email as the "from".
    So:
I need to have it default to the primary email address as the "from," I need to have all the alternate emails available to me to choose from, and I need to have it all set up as one account. I have tried to set up a second account on the iPad with all the alternate email addresses, but since the IMAP and SMTP logins are the same, the iPad won't let me.
Any ideas, suggestions, direction, solutions, etc. are very much appreciated!
    Details: iPad 2nd gen. WiFi+3G, iOS 6

I think this is a bug, and I've reported it as such. More reports usually equals faster service: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
For now, I've come up with the following work-around:
    1. Leave your multi-account as-is set up on your iPhone, but remove your preferred default e-mail address from the list
    2. Set up a new e-mail account with IMAP access (i.e. Gmail or whatever)
    3. Create a new IMAP e-mail account on your iPhone/iPad with the details of this new account for the IMAP (receive) settings, but with your original e-mail account's SMTP (send) settings. Also, set the "Email" field in the account setup to be your preferred default e-mail address.
    4. Set this new mail account as the default in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Now, when you create a new message, you should see that your default "from" address is correct - since it is the only choice for the new mail account you set up in iOS. As long as the SMTP settings are correct, it doesn't matter that your IMAP settings don't match.
You should still be able to select any other "from" address as well, which will use your original multi-account settings, which are also correct.
All of your received mail will come in through your original multi-account inbox, and your new account's inbox will likely stay empty.
It seems like I'm forgetting a step here, but this should give you the right idea for a workaround if it isn't exactly right. Feel free to add corrections if you find them.

  • Hi my partner used my email address and iTunes account to set up his iPhone and now both our phones have merged! Does anyone know how to separate these? Can he still use our iTunes account with a different Id or email! Please help!!

HI my partner used my apple id and email address when setting up his iPhone so when he turned on iCloud our phones merged!! How do we undo this? Can he still use my iTunes account with a different Id and can he change the email on his phone without losing information? Also iPad is linked too, the family uses this and I would like to keep my phone separate! At the moment nothing is sacred! Please help! We are not very good with computers!!

Several things here so let me attempt to clarify.
For iCloud the reason the contacts where removed from he other device is because you updated your contacts, in this case deleted them, and then iCloud updated the other device to match. By deleting the iCloud account on the device it will stop the device from using that iCloud account and therefore nothing will change on the other device. By using a seperate Apple ID you can still use the features of iCloud, Find My iPhone comes to mind, without your content (contacts, message etc.) merging with the other device
For iTunes, you cannot use two Apple IDs for one account however if you use the same account iTunes on your computer will keep the content on each device seperate very nicely. You can also configure the settings for iTunes and the App store on each device to keep the content from automatically downloading to the other device. What I meant by share apps and music is this. What happens if you find a game, lets say Minecraft, that you really like and it cost, as Mincraft cost, $6.99USD. You buy it and play for a while and then you realize that your husband really likes the game as well. If you both use the same Apple ID for iTunes he can download the $7.00ish game to his device at no additional charge. If you use seperate Apple IDs for iTunes well... it look like he will also be paying for the game to have it on his account. Same goes for Music and Movies
I hope that clears things up. Let me know if you have anymore question.

  • How do I stop another person using their own Apple ID accessing my Itunes library on a shared computer?

My daughter and I have our own Itunes libraries on a shared computer.  However we can access each others libraries by using our own Apple ID.  This causes a problem because she was able to access my account and delete some music by mistake.  Is their a way that I can ensure no one can access my music?
    Thanks

    Emma,
If two people have separate libraries on the same computer, it is best to put them into two separate Windows User accounts.
Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Add User Accounts, and get her set up in a separate user account.  Then move all her stuff there and from then on the two of you can operate independently on the same computer.

  • How do I cancel one itunes account so that I can use the email address from that account on my current account?

I have had my itunes account connected to my work email address for the past few years.  I am now changing jobs and I am trying to change the email account connected to my itunes account.  When I entered my personal email account it says there was already an account associated with that email address but I've never used it for anything since I created it a long time ago.  Is there a way to cancel that account so that my personal email address is free to use on my current account that I currently have linked to my work email address?

Maybe he's referring to renaming another iTunes Store account after making the email address null and available to be used. Otherwise, I agree with you that it is pointless.
