Another person with yet another problem, JVC and iMovie '08
Ok, so I've downgraded my Quicktime to allow me to import my .MOD from my JVC Everio HD camera, and I can open them without a problem in Quicktime, but I cannot open them in iMovie '08. I just upgraded to a MBP with Leopard, and I can still use iMovie HD without a problem, but I cannot import any of the projects over or import any of the files into iMovie '08. Anyone know a solution to this? Or should I just write iMovie '08 off until I can manage to sell my expensive paper weight?
You probably have a Realtek/AC97 or other chipset, you could try the AC97 audio drivers at the following location: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/
If you don't have that audio device, supplying the dell model number or audio device name you see in device manager, would be helpful.

Help with WRT54G connection problems..and Vista
Hello, I'm very new so if some of my questions have been asked before I apologize. I have the WRT54G wireless router and have been having a difficult time getting a steady connection. The wired computer's connection is perfect, but the machine was recently switched from XP to Vista. Ever since the change, the internet (on the computers using wireless) fluctuates unceasingly. (For example, when my boyfriend tries to play his online games the ping shoots from 30 up to 1000, disconnects and then goes back down about once every 10 minutes.) Since it worked absolutely fine before the change, I figured I would try to update the firmware on the new machine, however I can't seem to get the download to work on Vista. Every time the file downloads it says that Vista is unable to open or proceed with the download.
I've tried other things, as far as changing the channel, enabling the SSID broadcast, and changing the physical location of the router. Is there something else that I may be missing other than updating the firmware? And how might I go about updating the firmware with Vista?

changing the MTU size to 1365 ,
under the "advanced wireless settings" subtab, change the beacon interval - 50 , fragmentation and RTS threshold - 2304 ... -
Newbie with an Urgent problem- BlueJ and Compiler related
Hi, ok so I've downloaded the latest version of BlueJ (2.1.2) and have all of the Java components (i.e. BlueJ actually starts). However when I try to compile a program all it says is "Compiling..." in the corner. Nothing happens and when I click inside the window the message disappears with nothing being changed. Am I missing something glaringly obvious? This is my first encounter with BlueJ and the whole Java-thing. Also, time is a factor so a quick response would be INCREDIBLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well I dont Know much about the BlueJ IDE but I definately advise you to use the JCreator IDE that is perfect for a beginner and has easy to use interface. You can download the Lite Version (which is absolutely free) from:

Got a new video camera for Christmas, Samsung HMX-F80, it down loads pictures just fine, but videos I just can't get it to down load. I was able to down load to my PC part no problem.

Macmini with Compaq CRT MV520 monitor and iMovie HD
I just purchased macmini and am using an old Compaq CRT computer monitor, at 800 x 600, with it. The quality if fine and, for the most part, it works well. But when I try to open iMovie, it gives me an error message telling me that I need to raise my screen resolution to above 1024 x 720. Under 'Display' in System Preferences, there is only one option for screen size that is above 1024 x 720, but, when I change the size to that one, the monitor gives me an error message that says that it is an unsupported resolution.
Does anyone have any solution to this problem?

I have a IPhone 4S and since about a week ago my wifi wouldn't let me slide it to the on side and my personal hotspot doesn'tI don't live in Quincy anymore:( but I'm game some weekend! work either. After having yet another problem with my MacBook Pro and having to wipe the drive, I am now unable to sync my iPhones etc without erasing all the music on them. Is there a way around this? I have no other library!

How can I remove a person's face from a photo and then replace the spot with a person's face from another photo?
In Editor, go to the expert tab.
Open picture B, the one you wish to select the "replacement" face from to add to another picture.
Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the face. You will see an outline ("marching ants") once the selection is complete
Go to Edit menu>copy to copy the selection to the clipboard
Open picture A, then go to Edit>paste
Use the move tool to position the face from picture B to cover the face on A
In the layers palette you should see picture A as the background layer, and face B on a separate layer -

I'll start from the very beginning. I ordered the rest of my new comp two weeks ago, Neo Platinum and 3200+ newcastle. I finally recieved them the thursday after I ordered them and built it that night. For RAM, because of the 754 only having 3 RAM slots I traded 2 Apacer 3200 256MB sticks for one Corsair XMS 3200 512MB and included with it 2 Infineon 3200 128MB sticks. It succesfully posted. So I went to install XP on a formatted HDD, which took 4 different copies. The first was having many corrupted files and and so I went on to a copy of home which also had trouble loading and BSOD a few times, then another copy of pro and finally the last copy of pro, which BSOD many times, including during installation so I had to redo it, though it eventual was installed. The first two times it started up it gave me a BSOD on stratup though the third went fine. The next restart it BSOD'ed only once and it was this way for a few more restarts. It would also BSOD when changing things in programs such as resolution and mozilla firefox would crash very very often. I noticed that the two infineon sticks were causing the clockrate to go down to 333Mhz and took them out, though I still had general instability it was better than nothing while I tried to figure it out. A few days later I asked a friend and he imediatly said RAM, he thought it was the clockrate not syncing right. I checked and it was 200Mhz, no problems there. Later I made a post about this and asking for my RAM timings to be evaluated, somebody mentioned using Memtest86 if I had any problems with RAM. That night I let it go and in 7 hours it had 14000 errors, 300 errors each retest. I swaped in the infineon RAM and got only a few errors each time, so I tried to see which stick was not working. Both would go fine when alone but there were still a few errors each time I tried both at the same time. I was using slot 1 when only testing one stick, and slot 1 and 2 when testing two sticks. So the expensive Corsair RAM was always getting lots of errors and the infineon got a few errors but always on slot 2, so I thought that it was bad and I got an RMA number from newegg.com. I then had a friend with a p4 come over and I tested the RAM on his computer and it all worked fine, including the RAM which got over 300 errors each test, so I was sure it was my motherboard, but I still traded him back his Corsair for my 2 Apacer, which I put in alone, slots 1 and 2. I was curious and ran memtest86 again last night and got no errors at all, for 7 hours. Apple Updates: This is just to report a problem. I updated recently and on restart the computer restored up my 2012 desktop with all my 2014 files and data including stickies missing!!! Now I hesitate to do another Apple update. What would you do?
If all your files are missing
You may have logged in as a different user, such as Guest. Open the Users & Groups pane in System Preferences. Your name should be at the top of the user list, under Current User. See also this support article.
If files are missing from one folder
Change the Finder view mode; for example, from icon view to list view, or vice versa.
If files are present, but seem outdated
You may have started up from a different volume (disk.) Open the Startup Disk preference pane and check the selection. -
Another problem with swfloader (subapplication) and gc
I am trying to load a swf sub-application using the swfloader. I know that this is a well-discussed topic but i cannot find the reason why the air gc does not get rid of the loaded subapplication or -in a better way- why does it get rid of some intances and other instances remain in the memory (cumulative instances 10, instances 4 never destroyed). I would like to mention that if i remove the mx:Image from the subApplication tha garbage collector works fine loading and unloading the swf correctly.
As you can see i have created an event (dispatched from the parent application ) that cleans up the subapplication in order to avoid garbages.
i would be gratefull for any piece of advice.

i set the image.source = null and evaluateNow() but still the problem exists. Random instances remain while other instances (the majority)are garbage collected. At the moment, i am profiling and while i have 106 cumulative instances of the sub application i have still 6 instances alive that the garbage collector failed to collect (why not these 6???what was the difference of these 6 objects comparing to the other 100 that were removed from the memory!).
While debugging i observed the following output ( Remember testLoad.swf is the parent and SubApp is the loaded subapplication)

Supplier and subcontractor one after another - problem with PR and SchedLines

We have following business scenario:
We buy material A from supplier 123 and send it directly to subcontractor 456 from which we received processed part B. Due to logistic cost involved in the process, we receive material A directly at subcontractor 456 and not in our facilities. So we have created a normal LPA-type scheduling agreement for material A and supplier 123 and in the "vendor to be supplied/who is to receive delivery" field (EKPO - EMLIF & LBLKZ) we have put our subcontractor 456.
The problem we have is that even though we have correct subsequent requirements for A and we set the source lists correctly and run the MD02 the way it should be done, the MRP creates only purchase requisitions and not the scheduling lines.
Any clues what can be wrong?

Ok it took me some time, because I had to activate MRP Areas (and since it's done on client level and there is no way back from the conversion, I had to ask for a special server for testing).
I followed pretty much the scenario in the document (except SD and EDI part which I don't need) but I got stuck again.
I have created MRP area for 456 subcontractor and I have assigned it to the A material. The thing is that either I don't understand MRP Areas (it's something new for me) or the requirements are not passed correctly. I mean, I run MD02 for B (with "Also plan unchanged components" and "Display material list" and MRP Area on the plant level) and it plans B and creates planned orders for A (on the MRP Area=plant level). So later I run MD02 just for A with MRP Area 456 (the one I have created for subcontractor) but it does nothing - I don't see any requirements from A (plant level) nor from B.
If I force the requirements for A with MRP Area 456 (by setting Safety stock in material master) it does plan for S.A. (just this safety stock - it still ignores what's in A on the plant level).
These are my settings from MRP Views for A:
On general level
MRP Type: PD
Lot Size: EX
Procurement type: F
In the 456 MRP Area:
MRP Type: PD
Lot Size: EX
Special procurement: 20 (I tried also with special procurment type which they defined in the word document from your link - the one which has U (stock transfer) and plant - but unfortunely the result was the same)
