Another REP-1814 error

I know that this had to do with allowing room but I cannot seem to find where the problem is.
REP-1814 Object vertically can never fit within R_G_FULL_CPT
I've made all the field in this group Expand vertically as well as the Group itself and I still get the error. Where else can I look? Every singled field and group is either set to Expand or Variable. Thanks for your help or ideas.

Nevermind. I figured it out. I just started removing elements from the report until it ran. I narrowed it down.
Turns out that the group R_G_FULL_CPT was set in properties to print on All Pages. When I changed it to First Page, it worked. I'm not completely sure why, but it works.

    Hi,
Can someone tell me why I am getting this error while runing a report?. the error message is REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'B_272'.
I don't have any object called 'Vertically' in my report. B_272 is just a text field.
    Thanks alot
    Kavita.

never mind, I figured out that the 'print object on' property of the frame above the current frame is causing this error.

  • Information truncated after résolving the REP-1814 error

    Hi,
At first time I had this message REP-1814 Object vertically can never fit within F_Remarque that i could résolve by making all the field in this group Expand vertically as well as the Group itself and no page protection at any frame.
But the problem i have now tha this item should appear in two pages, but it's truncated to appear only in the first page.
The Higher frame was set in properties to print on First Page, and when i put it to All Pages
in order to have all the information displayed, the error REP-1814 Object vertically can never fit within F_Remarque appears again.
I will really appreciate your suggestions.
    Thanks

I finally found the solution, i just had to put th property 'Print object on ' to 'First page' for the item f_remarque and all the frames of higher hierachy.
    Thank for all.

  • REP-1814 Error

    Friends,
I'm working on a report to generate a delimited file. I've designed a report with one field. Each row of the SQL output is concatenated as a string and printed out.
Issue is : when the length of the string goes over 80 columns it puts it on a new line.
The report needs to print each row of SQL output as a single line ignoring the width. I've tried changing the report width, Horizontal Elasticity to variable. In application I've Style set to Dynamic Portrait (col=2050 and row=66)
    Any ideas pls share.

  • Generating delimited file from a report in reports 6i gives error rep-1814

    Hi all,
    We are using reports 6i.
We have a report from which we are trying to generate a delimited file.
We are encounterign the error REP-1814 The object vertically can never fit.
After looking into forums we came to know that there is something like DELIMITED_HDR should be set to NO..
Also we observe dthat this is done using th following command
    set_report_object_property('exp039r', null,
    ' DELIMITER=tab' ||
    'DELIMITED_HDR=no');
We tried doing that but, it is not working. Is there anything we should do to get it work.

  • Error Rep-1814??? Urgent!

    Hi Everybody,
I am facing a strange error.
REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object '<object name>' can never fit within '<location>'.
A report is run using different databases it work fines in all cases but in one case it prints more than first 200 pages & then gives the above error and the error keeps on moving to other fields when one field is edited
    Plz help

The first thing you should do is make sure that you're on the latest patch set.
If this doesn't resolve the problem then there's a note on Metalink that may help. Search for rep-1814 and you should find it - unfortunately tracking this down is likely to be a long process, especially if it's only reproducing after 200 pages. You may want to look at the data that's being returned at this point and see if that offers any clues.

  • REP-770 Error while executing the report.

    Hi,
I am trying to run a report in Application Server 10g. I am executing this report from a form.
When I try to run the report using the 'rdf', I get the error
"Terminated with error: <br>REP-770: There exist uncompiled program unit(s). REP-1247: Report contains uncompiled PL/SQL."
But if I run the report as 'rep' then the report works fine. Now after this if I run the report as 'rdf', it works fine again.
Just to summarise - The problem occurs if I first try to run the report as rdf. But the problem disappears if I run the report as rep first before running it as rdf.
Could someone help me solve this issue.
    Thanks
    Aruna

    Hi Aruna,
I can see 2 bugs logged on Reports 9.0.4.1 (that means 10g patch 1) that report a similar problem:
BUG 4050488 - JSP REPORTS CONTAINING REF CURSOR ASKS FOR COMPILATION EVERYTIME WITH WEB LAOUT
    and
BUG 4040844 - REF CURSOR QUERY REP-737 ORA-1247 RUNNING ON LINUX
Another bug reported on 10g has been fixed in upcoming Reports version 10.1.2:
BUG 3324576 - SRW.APPLY_DEFINITION IN PGM UNIT FAILS USING .REP FILE WITH REP-1457 ERROR
They are published bugs. See if you are hitting the same issue. Though I don't think that these bugs reported REP-1247 only the FIRST time you run the report.
Secondly, when I said "compile on the same platform on which you are going to run", I meant this - if you are going to run the report on OracleAS installed on Win 2000, you must compile the report in Reports Builder on Win 2000. Similarly, if you are going to run the report on OracleAS installed on Linux, you must compile the report in Reports Builder on Linux, before running it.

  • Reports: REP-0177 & REP-3000 errors :-( (RH 6.2.2 HA 1.0)

    Hi Folks, hi Oracle,
we have some serious problems here with Oracle Reports 6i Patch 6 which is running under Red Hat HA (Red Hat 6.2.2 High Aviability Server 1.0, based on Zoot)
Because HA installs without X i have installed all needed X-packes to get a X11 system, and it runs fine.
Then i set up request for a reports from the console i get the following message:
    [oracle@webserver1-do bin]$ ./rwcli60 REPORT=xxxx.rdf USERID=xxxxx/xxxxx@xxxx SERVER=xxxxx DESTYPE=SYSOUT DESFORMAT=PDF benu_id=x masszeile=xxx
REP-0177: Error while running in remote server
REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle Toolkit.
REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle Toolkit.
If i change the DISPLAY to a faked adress, i become the 111-errors (cant connect to X11-Socket), so i think the repserver connects to X but have some other problems with X.
If i change DISPLAY to an another Linux-Server with fully installed X11 & KDE, the report runs fine.
And all the same if the call the report over apache.
I have read the Bug-Info about Bug 1108326, but i have the same, if i change the format to HTML.
    Any suggestions?

  • REP-1814 when running delimited over web

    Hi,
I have a report that runs fine over the web when:
    Destination Format is HTML
    Destination Format is PDF
Destination Format is delimited with headers turned on.
As soon as I use the flag delimited_hdr=no (which of course is what I want), I get error:
REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'F_Q1_TARIFF_AREA'.
Any thoughts as to why I only get this error when trying to run the report with delimited_hdr=no and suggestions to a resolution.
    Thanks.
    Darren.

I didn't precise that reports failed to be executed with desformat=delimited but succeded with desformat=pdf.
Why Reports server on linux is unable to generate a full text report but can generate a pdf report ?

  • REP-52006 error (10gR2 base version 10.1.2.0.2)

When I strip the where clause in the forms side and then pass it to the reports, reports issuing the REP-52006 error. it shows bunch of %20 and in one place %22. Can anybody help with this one? I believe %22 is for " but don't know what %20 is for. I have no problem when I pass parameters to reports. It happened when I tried dynamically striping the where clause on the form side and then pass it to the report (so the report can execute it's query with this dynamically passed where clause. P_WC was set at the report side (holds the passed in where clause).
here is the where clause I automatically stripped in form (from LAST_QUERY) that I am passing to the report:
    (UPPER(TYPE_MISSION) = 'CAP' and (TYPE_MISSION LIKE 'ca%' or TYPE_MISSION LIKE 'cA%' or TYPE_MISSION LIKE 'Ca%' or TYPE_MISSION LIKE 'CA%')) order by name
and the report error is like this:
REP-52006: Failed to decode the specified URL %22('(%20UPPER(TYPE_MISSION)%20=%20'CAP'%20(TYPE_MISSION%20LIKE%20'ca%'%20or%20TYPE_MISSION......
Any ideas to fix this problem. We are not happy for this forms reports integration issue at all, it supposed to be seamless :( We can not deliver what we think we could to the end users because of reports problems (you don't know until it hits you :)
note: I posted this question to the reports forum. I just want to check to be sure that I did everything that I needed at the forms side. I checked the Metalink note# 264159.1 (I am setting the paramform=no) as indicated in this document. Bug#3442598 status is "Fixed in 10.1.2.0.2" in Metalink. Is this might be another bug ?
Has anyone tried to pass a dynamically stripped where clause from the system.last_query to a report and generated a report successfully? Passing indivudual or group of parameters to reports work fine. I am only having problem with this dynamically stripped where clause.
    Thank you

  • REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit

    Hi,
Iam using report server 9.0.2. I have a typical problem. I have developed the report which works fine on the windows environment. But when same report is executed on AIX machine it is giving the problem
REP-1814: Report cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit
    within 'F_17'.
What could be the problem? Do we need to change the setting or layout as per the environment specific?
can any one help out in solving this problem plz
    it very urgent.
    thanks
    Kalyan

I had this issue too, and finally discovered the problem. In my situation it had nothing to do with the vertical size of the field. The problem was with the proximity of the offending field to its enclosing frame. Not its vertical proximity, as the error message would have you believe, but its horizontal proximity.
The magic number seems to be 5 spaces (I'm refering to a 'space' as pressing the arrow key when the field is selected) to away from the enclosing frame. I played with it, and when the field was only 4 spaces or closer to the frame, I got the "Object 'vertically' can never fit ... " error again. Again, not 5 spaces vertically away from the frame, but 5 spaces horizontally away from the frame. Hope this helps.

  • URGENT!!!: REP-51002 ERROR   with local installation without network

    Hi,
we have a problem with the Oracle Reports Services (10.1.2). We get an REP-51002-Error (Bindung an Reports Server nb-gta nicht möglich).
We have a development environment where all works fine. For presentation purpose we installed the ReportsServices on a laptop. The strange thing:
When we have inserted a network cable to the laptop, all works fine. when we replace the cable, we get the REP-51002-error.
Seems that the ReportServer has a problem when no network card is present (ipconfig shows no network card or IP-Adress when the cable is replaced).
We also tried to modify the SERVER-Variable in the rwservlet.properties (set to localhost and 127.0.0.1), but with no success.
TraceFile of ReportServer reports a "NoRouteToHost"-Exception.
    Thanks for help in advance!
    Greetings,
    Claus

If the host machine is not in a network, then try this (for Windows platform):
Install the MS loopback adapter, as described on the Miscrosoft Web site (http:\\microsoft.support.com). Then, specify an IP address for your machine (either XP or Windows 2000), as follows:
    1. On your desktop, rightclick My Network Places, and select Properties.
    2. Rightclick the MS loopback adapter, and select Properties.
    3. In the Properties dialog box, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click on Properties.
    4. Select Use the following IP address, and enter a valid IP address. The subnet mask field will automatically populate. Do not use the local host IP (that is, 127.0.0.1). For example, enter: 198.162.1.1.
    5. Click OK, and follow the instructions displayed.
Another option is to use naming services, as mentioned in pdevaal's reply.

  • REP-1814 when saving a report

I have a report, generated with Oracle Reports 6i, that when I generate it and view it in the previewer, it is generated without any problems and I am able to see the report.
When I tried to save it by going to File -> Generate to File -> PDF, I am getting the error message REP-1814: Report Cannot be formatted. Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'B_1'.
Does anyone have an idea of what's going on? Thanks.

    Hi Mihn,
    Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I was just able to solve this issue. All I did was to add a printer to the user's desktop. After doing that, the user can now save the report as any format she wants.

  • REP-3000 Error Message

I have install Web Reports Server 6i on Solaris 2.8 x_86 platform and i hav configure its above documentation. I can start it under OAS 4.0.7 web listener. Then, if i want to create the test report on the web, i receive an error message:
REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle Toolkit.
Tell me please, what can i do.

You may be right. But in this case i don't know another plase, there nls-support (*.nlb) files are may be installd. In my $ORACLE_HOME there are no directory, naming like datad2k. I think, that Developer 2k use nls-support files from base nls directory, because i install if after RDBMS, but after installation of Developer 2k in the list of installed products i so, that it content the 8.0.6 NLS-Support Files and Libraris. I in the firm belief that it is not RDBMS files, becouse the version of RDBMS is 8.0.5.
It meens, that the cause of REP-3000 error is other. If you know some more about it, tell me please.

  • Report 6i/Webdb -Not able to display the report in the browser - rep- 3002 error.

Would someone tell what I missed, I have set up the following:
    1) a report using report builder on NT
    2) my database is in Unix
    3) my report server is started in NT
    4) I run webdb listener for the following code: http://myweb.com/cgi/rwcgi60.exe?server=repserver+report=myreport+userid=usid/pw/connect_string+destype=cache+desformat=html. Then, I receive this message:
Error: The requested URL was not found, or cannot be served at this time.
Oracle Reports Server CGI - Report Job has terminated with error.
    Reports Server Replies:
REP-3002: Error initializing printer. Please make sure a printer is installed.
Why is it thinking I want to use the printer whereas I want to display the report in the browser?. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like that your Web CGI did not configure right. To test if your CGI configuration is correct, type:
    http://hostname:port/cgi-bin/rwcgi60exe?
If you get a help screen, then you should be able to bring up your report.
