Another Slow constant disconnect DSL WHY?
How or when will I ever get internet service that stays connected? Already today we have gone from 3 bars to 1 and 3 disconnectes in the past 2 hours. Oh I get it I am not supposed to be on line, my service does not support netflix... so how am I supposed to use my netflix? I can't move to with in the golden mile that Verizon claims is all DSL is good for. HELP me find a servce that actually works.
Oh I am not referring to netflix bars I am referring to the connection. This has been going on for over a year and is getting worst. With bad knees and a bad back having to climb the stairs to where the router is located a dozen times a day is just not worth the agrivation anymore. Verizon does not give a hoot, they can't maintain their equipment when there is a poblem you can't connect to a person you can't get them to remove trees laying on the wires ( as in a dead fallen tree that eventually will take the wires down.) I am about to give up and when I do Verizon is gone internet and phone. We just do not live in town or a development so are inconsequential. Next step the FCC.

Constant disconnects with Linksys BEFW11S4/Westell/Bellsouth Ultra DSL
I recently upgraded to the 6mb DSL service from Bellsouth. Previously I had the 3mb. Anyways everything was fine for sometime even with the faster service. The last few weeks I have been having constant disconnects(several a day). Naturally the wireless lite on my Linksys BEFW11S4 goes out each time. I then un-power the router then re-power and I'm off and running again. I am using a westell modem. Bellsouth tells me that its not them since i do have an internet coneection and referred me to Linksys. After several live chats(due to disconnects and then having to start tellin my issue all over again) they had me upgrade my firmware. Well did that and problem hasn't changed. I've played with the different router channels and they don't seem to help as well. Bellsouth told me that I had a static ip, so I tied setting up router that way, but then i got no connection. Unil reently everything was fine, this just started! Any help is greatly appreicated. My 17 yr old daughter is going through internet withdraws upstairs!
If you are on DSL using a Westell Modem; make sure you ask your ISP to bridge the Modem first and use the PPPoE fucntion on your router. Change the LAN IP of the router to something else like 192.168.2.1 so it won't get a conflict with the IP of the Westell. Then if you are on cable, you can try adjusting the MTU size to 1492, 1400, 1300, or 576 then check which value would get your connection stable. You can reset your router right after you upgrade it also, then reconfigure it again. Hopefully yell be fine after that!

My iPad 1 can only be updated to iOS 5 yet most apps run on iOS 7. Why can't I make the update on my iPad 1? Is this so I buy another iPad 2+? Now why would I want to buy something that will be obsolete in a few years? I really want to purchase an Live TV plan yet I need iOS 7 to run most TV apps.

gIt's not obsolete as much as the first gen simply lacks the power to run the newer operating systems. IT doesn't have enough RAM. If someone managed to hack it to get iOS 6 or 7 on there they'd just have a slow, boggy and unresponsive device. (think putting windows 7 on an old laptop.
Unfortunately software moves faster than hardware. Every thing goes obsolete. I've had my ipad 2 for two and a half years now and I know it only has so much longer left to it too. Just the 'joys' of advancing technology. -

Speed test using bt speed tester. I'm guessing there is something seriously wrong here because I think my speed should be at least double that.if there is an extension socket then that is a good reason to conenct to test socket to eliminate any problems caused by the extension.. if you need an engineer visit and the cause of your drop outs is the extension socket then you will get a bill for £129.99 for call out

I recently bought a new 13 inch Macbook air and wireless internet is really slow and disconnect again and again. However I hav another windows laptop at the same place and that never disconects or looses signals? wireless on this mac is too slow that I cannot even use to make a skype call. I am new mac user and getting a bit disappointed because of this bad performance.I googled about this issue and found that lot of people are having the same issue with macbook air. I switched off the bluetooth adaptor but still no progress. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
I am experiencing something similar with my MBA 13"/i5/256GB.
To take it one step further, I started up a Terminal session and ran a ping against my wireless router. I see the same pattern repeated over and over: I get about 5 or 6 pings through, then 4 or 5 misses, then it reconnects again. When it reconnects, the first ping or two have times in thousands of milliseconds, where normal is maybe sub-millisecond to 4ms for the remaining few seconds.
I have other wireless devices, including iPhone, iPad, and an older MacBook - all work fine. The MBA is the only Lion device. -
Constant disconnecting with my WRT120N

I have a problem with my wrt120n. I'm having a constant disconnecting problem.
I don't have any problem with the wireless computers connected to the router but the wired one keep geeting disconnected. I'm loosing the internet many times a day on thiis one. Like I said the wireless is ok.
My old router on my computer ( wired) was working well before I installed the wrt120n.

Thank you!This is a problem of the Linksys/Cisco WRT120N product itself. The team from Cisco/Linksys is very irresponsible. Why i say so ?
The 802.11n signal is not certified to be supported but yet they have included this support in this router. By doing so, it causes this related problem that most consumers must be facing now or in the past. It is a shame that such a big company operates and sell their products this way.
The solution: It does not have anything to do with MTU, beacon interval etc.... Just use Mixed BG wireless signal instead of
Wireless N only when you goes to Manual Setup. I am sure that this solves the problem. -
Slow connection/ disconnect
I been having trouble since 3 days ago. Slowness/disconnect.
Why am I having this problem? I have been disconnected/ lagging on my pc games which is connected via ethernet. I am getting 20/22 on my speedtest instead of 25/25 which is a little slower. I am even getting 15/5 on my wireless laptop/iphone. Now before you tell me you aren't going to get the promised speed on wifi I don't need that. I get full speed all the time but it's happening for 3 days on all devices. Even my brother in law laptop is slow and my sister laptop is slow on internet. What can I do about it? I tried changing the ip address. I tried resetting my router which is a netgear wnr2000. I don't know what else to try.You can try Factory reset the router. back of router use a small pin to press the reset button for few seconds. and you can also try manual reboot the ONT. unplug the power cord from outlet and unplug battery, then plug it back in.
Wireless speeds are not guaranteed. The best speeds are achieved over Ethernet Cat5 wired connection.
This does not work. call tech support have them send you a new router.

Why? It could be turned off, ran out of power/battery, run over by a vehicle, out of service, submerged in water/liquid/in a gutter, wiped and reset by whoever found it, etc, etc.

Is it free to send messages in iMessage to another county? if yes why it does not show that these messages from iMessage?
if you receive an imessage not on any internet connection you will receive it as a sms (green) and yes it counts toward your texting plan

I was having major issues with RDP 8.08 update on my IPAD in July 2014. Connect to my remote Windows 7 desktop was successful, however, screen refresh peformance was very slow and disconnects occured often. Was referred to KB2570170 and applied
the regedit change to add DisableLargeSendOffLoad = 1. This however had no real affect. It was suggested that I recycle my IPAD. This did resolve the problem.

Based on the description, it seems to be a network issue on iPad side. In addition, I think we do not need to recycle iPad more often.

Have you tried resetting your PRAM?
Shut the Mac down.
Holding the Cmd+Opt+P+R keys, press the power button.
Listen for the "startup chime" to sound three times and release the keys.
It should run better after it finishes booting up. -

Make sure you're updated to iOS 6.0.2, I know that has had something to do with Wi-Fi for a lot of people.
