Another Windows 7 Hotsync Problem

I have an old Zire that works great with Palm Desktop 4.1 on my old PC with XP Pro.
After having problems with 4.1 on my new computer with Windows 7 Pro, I installed Palm Desktop 6.2.2.
The program runs fine except when I try to sync with my Zire. The log indicate that the sync was sucessful but no adresses show on the Palm Desktop. Can you help?

Thanks for the pointers on the link.
Testdisk is now working its through the deep scan (currently 150 000 000 out of 976 000 000) I guess it will run through to the end and present a similar list of "results". I'm well out of comfort zone here, so forgive the obvious question - but what do I do when it has finished the analysis?  Thanks

  • Another Windows 7 Network Problem

I have three Windows 7 computers (2 wired, 1 wireless) and a Mybookworld on my network at home with my Macbook Pro running 10.6.4. Before the upgrade to Snow Leopard, I had zero problems networking all of my computers together, and also never got a dropped wifi signal.
Since the installation of Snow Leopard (ordered it the day it was released), I now cannot see the windows computers in the "Network" panel. The only thing that shows up is my MyBookWorld Drive. All of the windows computers can see each other, the MBW drive, and my Macbook just fine. I can connect to the Windows computers via smb://ip but this is inconvenient and I think the reason I can't setup printer sharing.
The secondary issue is that after a short period of time, my network connection on my MBP stops responding, and I have to click "Turn Airport Off" then "Turn Airport On" (and this works in quick succession, no waiting time) and I'm good to go again. This is especially frustrating when I am away from home and want to remotely access my computer and it's offline.
I have followed the guide on about.com so please, let's not suggest that. They all have the same workgroup, smb sharing is enabled in my system preferences, my windows and mac login names are all the same (First Last).
Every once in a blue moon (read: very infrequently) my Macbook will show the Windows 7 computers.
My router's drivers all are up to date.
I'm pretty technically savvy but I can't for the life of me figure this out.

Here are reasons a Windows computer might not show up:
The computer isn’t on the same local network or subnetwork as your Mac.
If the Windows computer is on a different subnetwork, you can connect to it by typing its network address in the “Connect to Server” dialog.
This is from the KB, and possibly the only thing related, because I can in fact connect by doing this.
What is a "Subnetwork" and how would I be connected to a wrong one? They're all on one router, and the Windows 7 computers are all part of a homegroup, when I dig down, they're all part of the "WORKGROUP" workgroup. In my WINS settings, WORKGROUP is currently my listed workgroup as well. This seems like it would fix that problem...

  • PALM V / WINDOWS XP HOME HOTSYNC PROBLEM

Out of the blue, my Palm stopped hotsyncing with my G3 Mac  (see http://forums.palm.com/t5/Macintosh-HotSync/PALM-V-MAC-OS9-2-2-HOTSYNC-PROBLEM/td-p/273892;jsessioni...) so I am trying to move everything over to my Windows XP Home machine. I downloaded the Palm Desktop V 4.1.4 and purchased a new Keyspan USA-19HS serial to USB adapter for the cradle. I have the Hotsync Manager set to Local USB and the driver said that I was connected to com 4.
I am at a total loss on what to do to get the hotsync to work and I am totally lost without my PDA.

    Hi,
easiest way to verify that your XP CD has SP2 incorporated is to look at the root directory of the CD for a file named 'win51ip.sp2'.
If there, then it is SP2. If not, well...
And there is a way to make yourself a XP CD with SP2 out of your pre-SP2 XP CD by following these instructions http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp
But you have to do it on a Windows PC.
Second possibility, the XP CD you have is an upgrade version, which only installs after a check for an older Windows version.
Unfortunately you can't switch CDs during BootCamp Windows installation due to the impossibility to eject the current CD.
Apple strictly says that such upgrade XP CDs don't work with BootCamp.

    Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#iPod_touch_late2009
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Oracle Database XE - apex on Windows 7 - Problem with Connection from another Windows 7 Computer

    Hello,
I started with Oracle Database XE 11g, with apex, did the upgrade to Apex 4.2.6 and started in developing a small Application.
I wanted to Connect to my Computer A (with Database runing on it) from another Windows 7 Computer B.
So I put in in Firefox: //A:8080/apex but I only received a timeout.
Of course on both Computers there is a windows-Firewall running, so I stopped on both Systems the Firewall, but its the same still.
In the windows explorer running on Computer B , I can see the data of Computer A and both Computers are in the same home-net-group. (sorry for my poor english).
Is there anyone who cann tell me how to get the Connection running ?
Maybe I didn't see the info about this in the manuals, if it is there, please give me a hint.
    many thanks

  • How to handle "/9.2.0/root.sh as root from another window" in silent instal

    Hi,
I was successful to start a silent installation of Oracle9iR2 using a responsefile on my System RHEL 3. But the installation ends soon and a wrong successful install message:

The installation of Oracle9i Database was successful.
I use -ignorePatchConflicts for ignoring the patch conflicts. But How do I handle these issues. Where I have to run root.sh ... etc in teh Non Interactive Install.
I am scripting solution for non interactive install and manual intervention to run these root.sh shell scripts at different points of install is not a good idea as it wont help me automate the install.
Please let me know if anyone has solved this problem with -silent install.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thats me (OP) again:
    I tried setting:

    ", what do I do?"
Give us more info to the problem
Is the report in another browser window or different application?
In the General Safari Preferences there are options for link behavior.
What type of file are the reports in? html, pdf, .xls ?
What website? Is it internal at your work?
    etc.
I am sure someone can help with just one or two bits of extra info.

  • "Save AS" in another window

    Hi all,
I use the following to prompt a save as dialog box :
    response.setContentType("image/svg+xml");
    response.setHeader( "Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + filename);
It works, but as the file to open is a svg file (xml file), it is opened in the window (IE) where I have my application running and I would like it to open in another one. How can I do this ?
    Thanks.
    Julie

Thanks a lot : it works fine.
I have another question : if the user chooses to open the file, no problem, it opens in another window (what I wanted) but if he chooses to save it , a new explorer window is opened but appears empty. So is there a way to know what the user chose ? Or to close the empty window ?
    Thanks again.

Can anyone answer, why in Logic Pro X I keep on getting a window popping up saying, Directory not found, result code = -120. Followed by another window saying, Fade update failed, (error -120)?
I am running the latest version 10.0.5 through a Macbook Pro that has just been upgraded to 16GB Ram and a 960GB SSD which has made it as fast as ****. I upgraded because I was experiencing problems before and it was suggested that I didn't have enough Ram?
I am using a Focusrite scarlett 2i4 and an Alesis Q61 midi controller. Weirdly, just trying to put a bass line down on a track using the Alesis, the bass sound goes out of tune with the track during recording only. This is very frustrating! I surely can't be the only one experiencing this?
    Many thanks
    Rob.

    Hi
Time lost could be a problem, but.....
Sadly, I don't think that there are any Apple docs relating to networked storgae issues with Logic. Other than a 'school' or 'business' setup, NAS/OD/AD setups are not usual circumstances for audio.
If the issue is one of data backup & security, it may be enough to automatically backup the students local work folders to the NAS.
If the issue is one of the Users being able to work from any Mac and pick up their files from the server, you are not likely to resolve this problem, without copying the files to the Local Mac.

  • ISight - connects with windows users no problem?

I'd like to buy this webcam, but I heard it has problems connecting with windows users. Will I be able to talk to people on it through AIM? Thats what I'd like, if not, I probably wont get it. Anyone have any personal experience or have any answers or helpful tips - I'd appreciate anything - thanks.

It is not the iSight itself that gives you the impression that connecting with Micros~1 Windows users causes problems ... it is the availability of (cross platform) applications that makes connecting a bit more cumbersome.
I have PowerMac G5 with iSight and I connect with my Micros~1 Windows platform family equiped with and without USB webcam.
The challenge will be to find messaging / VoiP applications with bearable audio quality and reasonable video performance.
I started with Skype for Voice and Yahoo! messenger for bad video ( 1-2 fps and video size 320 x 240).
Skype has a video plugin (only for Windows)
Yahoo! Messenger does not have voice yet (2.5.3)
MSN is badmouthing because of the "M"
I have used iChat with another Apple believer ... and the quality of Voice and Video is unparralled.
The best two alternatives I found are:
    a) AIM 5.9
    b) Trillian (www.trillian.cc)
Both use a free AIM screen name.
AIM works fine, see also EZJim pages.
TrillianPro 3.1 reuses AIM screen names ... and ... it has both good audio and zoom-to-full-screen-video size with fps rates filling your bandwidth.
The only negative on Trillian so far, the "handshake" for connecting two people takes some time.
TrillianBase is free but has no Video capabilities. The Pro version is 25$.
    Regards Coen
ps. if you want to test your setup use my AIM screenname: coenjeukens

I am trying to do so via password verification, when the use inputs the right password it should grant them access to the form fillout page which i am building. Problem is that there is something wrong when i input the right password and click "OK". Its not going through and giving me access to the next page. I just need pointers as to what i should fix. Thank you very much.

  • Full screen videos/streams on second monitor won't stay full screen while using another window on other monitor

Whenever I open and then full screen a video or stream of any kind, I am unable to use another window of Firefox while the video/stream maintains full screen. When I click off the video/stream it reverts back to the smaller screen. Is there any way to change this?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
