Another Windows Vista flash player fix

Ok after pulling my hair out for a week trying everything
here to get youtube videos to play with vista
i found my problem its with kaspersky antivirus 6.0 v
6.0.2.614
First close internet explorer 7 open kaspersy then settings
then web antivirus then uncheck scan http traffic
I tryed this checked and unchecked and youtube videos only
play with scan http traffic unchecked. somthing with
kasperskys settings prevents this with adobe flash player
9

i have windows vista home premium,  32 bit.  when  download, all seeems to run just fine.  takes about 20 oe 30 seconds.  announces that the installation is complete.  even get an opportunity to play some silly game.  but it does not work and when called upon i get a message that i should download flahplayer 11 now.  so i looked in the list of programs under uninstall, and i see that adobe flash player active x and the plugin are both listed.  but niether shows any corresponding program length. that column entry is simply not there.  any other info i can supply?  i do really appreciate your response.  herb dessner

  • Flash "Spinny" loader corrupted in FF in Windows with Flash player 10

    Everywhere else I have this on our site, it works fine.
    Here is where it is broken
    In a firefox browser (2, 3, 3.5) with flash player 10 in windows xp (flash player 9 looks fine)
    Everywhere else it looks fine.  I have attached the swf file & a screenshot of what it looks like when it is corrupted.
    I have tried saving it several different ways, but currently it is saved with these settings:
    Version: flash player 9
    Load order: bottom up
    Actionscript version: 2.0
    things checked:
    - Omit trace actions
    - Export hidden layers
    jpeg quality - 80
    I have also tried saving it in an older version (8) with the same results.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Your page http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html mirrors my Flash Player as

    at Firefox: 10.3.183.11

  • Firefox slow on new Windows install/Flash player crashes, how to fix?

    On my new windows install I found Firefox to be very slow compared to how it was before the my new Windows install.
    Opening most webpages takes way longer than it should, i excluded my internet connection being the problem as i always get 100/100 Mbps (speedtest) results.
    I already :
    -reinstalled Flashplayer, wich didnt solve the problem.
    -Did a Firefox refresh (as in: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-health-report-says-your-browser-is-slow )
    -Tried setting the ipv6 boolean (network.dns.disableIPv6) in about:config to true.
    -Disabling plugins (user installed ones)
    -Clearing flashplayer cache
    -Reinstall videocard driver
    I'm at a loss what could possibly be the problem, hopefully someone else has an idea how to solve this problem.
    Thanks in advance

    Do you ever see messages that scripts are running slowly with Stop/Continue options?
    Another common troubleshooting step for Flash on Windows Vista and newer is to disable the plugin's protected mode feature. That feature has security benefits, but seems to have compatibility issues on some systems. There is a new hidden setting for this:
    (A) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (B) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''flash''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (C) Double-click the '''dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode''' preference to switch its value from false to true.
    This might not take effect until all Flash has been unloaded for a few minutes, or you close Firefox.
    Before that preference was added, the way to disable protected mode was by creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different approaches for that if it turns out to be necessary (if Flash EXE processes continue to show up in the Windows Task Manager, Processes tab, even after changing the Firefox preference):
    * Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
    * Manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/968190?page=5#answer-509209
    * Batch file to automate the manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/982093#answer-518078 (alternate version of Carm's batch file with a few changes by me: [https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=f7d304d92388737d&id=F7D304D92388737D!336&ithint=file,.bat&authkey=!AP2FXW2Y_3BXZyo])
    Flash needs to completely unload from memory (exiting and starting Firefox up again might help) before this takes effect.
    Any improvement?

  • Windows XP Flash Player 9 FIX (permissions)

    This is the solution that has worked for me in our
    organization of many computers. Before running any uninstallers or
    installers you need to
    first unlock the files.
    (I haven't tested this but I speculate that it could resolve the
    permissions issue.)
    1.) From a dos prompt (start>run> type cmd and click
    o.k.) navigate to the
    c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\ directory and run the
    flashutil*.exe file with the switch uninstallunlock. It will look
    like this:
    flashutil9 -uninstallunlock.
    2.) Download and run the adobe flash player uninstaller found
    here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
    3.) Download and install the macromedia flash player 8 found
    HERE
    Problem solved, something with the permissions or the way
    they changed the program with the flash player 9 is causing the
    erratic behavior.

  • After installing Radeon Graphics drivers on Windows 8 Flash player and Adobe Flash Pro didn't re-ins

    Hi,
    On a Windows 8 Pro desktop I recently installed Flash Pro and it seemed to work great.   Also Flash Player was working great as well.  But I noticed on Adobe  Photoshop CS6 that the 3d controls were not working.  So I installed the the Radeon Graphics AMD Catylyst Control series for an onder 4800 series graphics card.   Has anyone else had problems with 4800 series AMD ATI video cards?  Any suggestions after reviewing the tables below?
    I then noticed that the 3d controls in Adobe Photoshop worked great. But...
    Later, however, I noticed that Flash Play would green screen on some videos in IE10.  So I tried to follow the Flash Player repair procedure such as remove checkbox on Active X Filter,  Adding Compatibility mode without success in IE so I installed Mozilla Fire Fox and re-installed flash player etc... which worke don Mozilla but not IE10.  So I'm thinking this new software from AMD caused several problems to occur and not sure how to fix them. I still want 3d controls on my video card and now I'm thinking about starting a fresh install before installing Adobe software with a new NVidia card or a trusted AMD ATI card because this legacy 4800 doesn't seem to be cutting.
    Here is my system settings and after this table are the errors I got upon reinstalling Flash pro.    Note: These were not critical errors so I was still able to run Flash Pro.  I was never able to run Flash Player on IE10 after upgrading my video card software (Catalyst Control Center).   However Flash Player does seem to work great on Mozilla Firefox after re-installing Adobe Flash.   When I try to install Flash Player in IE10 I get a title screen of "Update Flash" with no content whatsover.

  • Problem closing popup window in flash player 10.0.32.18

    Hello,
    I'm new to the forum so please bear with me. I posted this in the actual "Flash" forum yesterday but I realized afterward that the ActionScript forum would be a better place to post the question (sorry about that). I'm a web designer but I don't use a lot of Flash. I'm sure this will change as time goes on. For now, I'm still using an old version of Flash MX on my Mac - Flash MX version 6. But I don't think this has anything to do with the problem I'm experiencing. I designed a flash animation for my wife's website back in 2004 and it has always worked perfectly up until installing the most recent Flash Player 10.0.32.18 just a few days ago. Here's the problem:
    On the main page of my wife's website, we have a special link called "view presentation". When you click on that link, a smaller, new browser window pops up in front of the main page (the window sits "over top" of the main page - a typical pop up window). Inside of this new pop up window is the flash animation (the actual swf file). Inside of the HTML code for the pop up window, I have coded the following javascript:
    function closeWin() {
       if (document.images) {
         self.close();
    The above script, closeWin() is called from a button called "Quit" that the user clicks on in the actual swf file inside of the pop up window. Here is the code from the swf ActionScript:
    on (release) {
        stopAllSounds();
        getURL("javascript:closeWin();", "_self");
    This has always worked perfectly right up to Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 - the window closed as soon as the user clicked on the button. But now, with the most recent Flash Player 10.0.32.18 installed, it no longer works. The pop up window no longer closes.
    Obviously, something has changed in this latest version of Flash Player 10.0.32.18 which is preventing this from working. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much,
    Mike

    Well, thanks to your help - I got it solved. It's not the Security Update, it's not javascript, it's not the difference in flash versions, it's nothing in the ActionScript itself or any of the other things I/we thought it might have been. I looked really closely at your HTML code and compared it to mine and changed it so that it was almost exactly the same as what you had coded - here's what made the difference (I've bolded the changes so you can see the differences):
    old code:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" id="tour" width="600" height="450" align="top">
    <param name="movie" value ="tour.swf">
    <param name="quality" value ="high">
    <param name="bgcolor" value ="#ffffff">
    <embed name="tour" src="tour.swf" quality ="high" bgcolor ="#ffffff" width ="600" height ="450" align ="top" type ="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" swLiveconnect="true"></embed >

    Now works perfectly - the pop up window closes every time (I also took out swLiveconnect="true" - not sure where that ever came from).
    I'm not exactly sure how the above changes could make it work but they did so I am thrilled that you were kind enough to help out. If you have any ideas as to what actually did make the difference, please let me know as I am very curious. Maybe is was the "codebase" line? Seems like adding in the "allowScriptAccess" also had some sort of effect.
    Thanks again,
    Mike

  • IE7, Vista & Flash Player 9

    Hello,
    I am new. I have been trying to install the Flash Player but
    I get an error msg that reads, "Network Error." I have Internet
    Explorer 7 and Windows Vista Home Premium. Does anyone know where I
    can download it properly? I also downloaded and ActiveX file for
    FP9 and a plug-in. Neither work. Can anyone help?

    Hello! I, too, am new here. I have no trouble installing
    Flash 9 into IE7 with XP Pro, but ever since I got Windows Live /
    Windows Live Mail, IE7 crashes and tells me only that Flash 9d.ocx
    was running at the time. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Trying to download flash player on windows vista,can anyone help?

    If the download doesn't begin try this direct link for the player installation:

  • Captivate Project Information window on Flash player

    I published a Captivate Project as an executable file for
    Macintosh. When I click on the SWF file, it opens up in the Flash
    player, and not in my browser. Also, the Project Information window
    does not go away, even when I click on the close button. Some of
    the buttons on the navigation bar don't work either, like Exit and
    Forward. Has anyone come across this problem?

    The purpose of beta software is to find potential problems.  You have just found one, and you should report it back to the beta team.
    If you think it is a Flash Player bug, report it at https://bugs.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    If Flash Player works fine on the release version of Firefox, then I suggest that you reinstall that version.

  • What's with this recent window "Adobe Flash Player Settings"?

    In the past month, the following window often displays atop a video.
    Does anyone know what's going on here?
    I-Mac running Yosemite 10.10.1
    Safari 8.0.2

    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
    Select either one of the radio buttons marked
              Allow sites to save information on this computer
              Block all sites from storing information on this computer
    according to your preference. The usual display of Flash content doesn't require that you allow it to save information. Note also that this setting only affects Flash; it has no effect on web cookies or AutoFill.

  • Windows 7: Flash Player automatic update fails due missing admin privilege. UAC issue?

    The Windows 7 account I am using has admin privilege.
    The automatic update displays an error message pop-up. In English it would be something like: "The installation encountered errors: You need administrator privlige to install Adobe Flash Player. Please log on as an administrator and try again."
    At Windows 7 I am using the standard UAC security level settings and I am not willing to lower them. I am also not willing to install a Player update manually for three browsers every other week.
    Any solution?
    Thanks

    Your page http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html mirrors my Flash Player as
    at Chrome: 11.2.202.229
    at Firefox: 10.3.183.11
    at IE: 10.3.183.11
    So I manually update once more for Firefox and once more for IE and hope it will update automatically from then on.
    Thanks

  • Windows 8 Flash player enabled but not?

    Hey, I'm trying to use a program called Human Japanese which requires flash on Internet Explorer. It says I have flash installed and enabled thoguh I can't view content that requires flash (the box on the help menu is blank) It says it's disabled even though it appears enabled and I'm pretty sure I'm on the desktop version of IE not the start menu (windows 8 is silly) Not sure what to do

    Sorry for the delayed reply; I have been over to Korea for a few days.
    We first need to concentrate on why Flash Player does not work on Internet Explorer.
    What is your IE version?
    Do you have ActiveX Filtering disabled?
    Also, what is your display adapter and driver version?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765

  • Vista flash player install issues

    Hi All, this is my first post on here and as most people, only here because I am in need of some help. I have been trying to update/ install flash player onto my system Vista home prem 32 bit after a failed update around 4 weeks ago. I am told that I do not have admin rights to complete the install, which I do! I have tried may different help tips including safe mode (pc and firefox) new account on both with admin rights and runniong exe as admin all to no avail. I will admit being a bit of a fumbler when it comes to this sort of thing but I am trying. Any help greatfully received. All was going well until the 11 update, since then i have uninstalled all prev versions I tried to re-install again today and now, despite being told the install did not finish, that  flash player 11.4 r402 has stopped working, which in turn freezes my firefox until closed but repeatedly pops up.
    Thanks

    Which installers have you tried so far?  Please try to do a clean install and let me know if there are any files/folders that are unable to be deleted.
    How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?
