Another Xfi unknown sou
I have a OEM Xtreme Music card and have it running perfectly now within windows and 99% of my games & other software. The one thing i am noticing is a kind of low bleep when playing CSS and when other people are keying up through the ingame voice chat.
Now i can get the same sound at my end if i unplug my mic from my headset and put it back in. I am wondering if this is a sound to indicate that a device as been unplugged/plugged in. Yes?
But why am i getting it from other people online? Is there a setting that can get rid of this? Just seems strange that i get it off other users and not myself ingame.
Another thing i never had this with my Audigy 2 before 4 days ago.

Hi all, and thanks for the replies. But....
I'm not using the front panel. It's with my headset which is split through the sound card outputs with my Logitech 5. speakers. Not using HLSW (Well i do have it on but only use it to keep an eye on my usual servers. I'm not going in to game through it) It's not a humming sound. More of a low bleep/ding sort of sound. And as i said this is from other people in game. Not me. And also i'm using a set of OEM drivers/software from here....

It's not a loud sound and it's not that annoying. Just that it's there and i never had this before. Everything else is great on my PC with this card.

The company I work for need me to download an app on my phone but first I have to allow apps from unknown sources.
The guidance is based on a Samsung smartphone and advises me to go to settings, then security then unknown sources. However I cannot find anything resembling this on my Nokia phone having searched through settings in the phone and on internet explorer and in apps.
Can anyone advise how I can overcome this problem ASAP?

ClaireYou can only side-load apps on a developer unlocked phone. What you are describing is the way Android does this.
On Windows Phone once unlocked you copy the app to the SDcard and install it from their or use the developer tools. Which phone do you refer to and what app are you trying to install. Obviously you can't install an Android app onto a Windows Phone device.

I downloaded the latest version of Itunes and haven’t been able to use since
Every time I connect Iphone to computer, PC recognizes (it shows on Portable devices)
but somewhat shows also in another devices (unknown device) and Itunes doesn't recognize or even shows anything.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes and all apple software (Bonjour, QuickTime etc) about 15 times every way I could imagine.
I extracted files (usbaapl64). I tried to update drivers with no success.
I uninstalled Anti viruses, scanned HD, updated some video/sound drivers
It works on my husband’s computer (another HP)under windows Vista 32bits but it’s not working on mine for the life of me.
I can’t figure it out what its causing the conflict and would appreciate any suggestion

I finally gave in and restored Iphone to factory settings and then my iphone could only call 911 (emergency calls)
I try to connect again to restore it but it didn't work. I tried the DFU and got a error msg "error-message-0xe8000001"
I researched the error msg and found something about USB2.0. I went to HP site and downloaded an update for some drivers and voila
right now iphone is being synchronized

Intel E6600 + Xfi = bad electrified sound? HELP
Hi, sorry about my english.
I used to have a Pentium4 D930 on my sistem with my Xfi card but when i changed it for a Pentium E6600 the system sounds terribly bad ,like electrified.
I have tested my Xfi in other computers and sounds good. I have tested a sound blaster and mainboard audio device on my system and sounds good too but another Xfi (platinum this other) sounds bad again.
I've returned to mount the old P4 D930 processor and remove the E6600 and now sounds good.
What does it fail? The processor? The mainboard? Am i crazy?

I get sound (sometimes) at windows strat for 5 to 0 mins then it cuts off, It even sound strange during these few mins. Hmm and I get criticals too. -
XFI Gamer Simulatneous output to analog and sp
Hi Creative,
With XP it was possible to output the sound simultaneously to the analog output and the spdif output, at least when the input signal was not numeric.
In Vista, with my XFI XTreme Gamer it is no longer possible. However I know someone who has another XFi model (XFi Audio I think) and Vista, and he has a chekbox on the audio configuration to enable output on the both devices (analog and SPDIF).
Why isn't it implemented on mine ?
Thanksyou'll have to stripe a tape with timecode and black to "edit" to. for the non firewire devices use 422 serial and connect the appropriate cable to the 9pin dsub connectors on the deck in question.make sure it's a 422 cable and not some serial computer cable. 422 is balanced xmit and receive with specific pinouts. The deck also needs to be capable of "editing" which should be indicated in the relevant manual. some decks are capable of recording but not editing. most studio decks allow you to set a start timecode "preset" after you've laid down code switch gen function to "regen" internal and record run. If you do an "insert edit" the tape needs to be striped about a minute past the end of your program. most stripe the entire tape. If you do an "assemble edit" just stripe enough to get your preroll together and 30 seconds or so past your inpoint.

It looks to me like there's a problem with the Lucene connection, but
the connection test works..?

This is similar to another users error, but I wasn't able to solve my
problem by compiling in iReport 3.7.6 - I just get different errors.

As I recall, I can fix this by adding the right .JAR file to the dev
directory of the report, so it's not a huge problem.
2) When I try to preview a report with an active connection I get the
following error:

System server and uri and authentication for usermapping

For single signon usermapping, I found mailserver is login.yahoo.com and uri is /config/login and authentication is login=<username>&passwd=<password>.

We have downloaded MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2000 DRIVER for UNIX boxes
when i try to connect using JDBC , with all parameters
user id, driver, password etc
at the sniffer(TCPIP) level when the jdbc connection is attempted
i see a

Get another driver and see what happens. I would recommend jTDS, because I'm one of the developers and I can help you debug it. It only supports basic things (such as forward-only result sets, prepared statements and callable statements) but it should be enough to see if you can connect to SQL Server. Still, for some reason I cannot make it work under Tomcat 4.1.12, works fine whenever my app is run outside tomcat, but if I run it in tomcat, it doesn't recognize the XML document as it was defined in the schema (especifically the attributes). I have posted the question but no answers yet.
I had your problem, and checked what I was doing and had different versions of Xerces, one packaged with JVM 1.4.1_01, another with Ant 1.5, another with tomcat and yet another one used in my app. Just downloaded the latest version, replaced all instances of xercesImpl.jar, xalan.jar (if you are using it), xmlParsersAPI.jar and xsltc.jar (if using latest v. of xalan) everywhere and it worked fine, compiles fine and runs fine (outside of tomcat). Make sure you copy them in your endorsed folder (inside the jre/lib folder of your java installation).
In any case, if you run the JVM with the parameter -verbose:class you will be able to see from where the DOM and SAX classes are being loaded. -
IRT's MHP-RI HDD TS playback problem
Dear all,
I've got the license of the RI but now have no DVB-card at hand, so I am trying to get TS from HDD files. Below are my steps:
1. From the install instruction: "To configure the RI to play a TS from HDD, please configure it as first as having a Technotrend udget DVB board." So:
==> Frontends.cfg: comment [irtdvbtt] and uncomment [irtdvbbda]
==> System.cfg: set VIDEO.COMPOSITION_DLL = irtdvbbda
2.From the next step of the instruction:
==> Transponders.xml: add a new entry in the section "HDD TS Playback Transponders" and do not conflict with another transponder. So I set

I went through all steps and i am not quite sure if i configured it right and i am confused about the way my xlet tells the RI WHICH TS-file it wants to play..
Because i get a NoPlayerException when trying to play a TS-File, there must be something wrong with the parameters i use in my code or my configuration settings..
I got a ts-file with the following parameters:
Network-ID: 16
Transportstream-ID: 1080
Service-ID: 100
I set up the IRT RI as follows:

but my TS-File has other SI-Information (NID:16 TS-ID:1080 SID: 100)..

or
targetVideo = new MediaLocator("dvb://1.437.4");
or maybe
targetVideo = new MediaLocator(" d:\TS\MyStream.ts");??????
As you can see, i am very confused of that feature and there is a big lack of know-how...

After more then a year it's time to say goodbye for me!
When I got my Vista installed a long time ago I was aware that there will be some hardware components that will not work nice due to bad drivers. I gave my hardware companies more then a year time to get their stuff together and release working drivers. I came here to report problems and bugs in current drivers in the hope that CreativeLabs listens to me and other people here, but now after one year of waiting I am pretty sure that nothing will change here anymore
I am one of the 0.0% (according to an CL guy) of people that are having a problem with their XFI Elite Pro Card (for that I payed more then 300Euros when it came out) and I was CL Soundblaster user since I can remember. I have very strange sound effects (crackling, noises, scratching) when I activate the SLI Mode for my Videocards and like many other users here I am missing very important features like Dolby, that were available when I had windows XP installed.
Because Vista does a very good job on my system and other companies have released good drivers for all my hardware I see absolutly no reason to switch back to Windows XP, just because Creative Labs is not able to release drivers. In my opinion it's just a shame for Creative Labs what they do. It's no secret that CL really does build very nice hardware, but their software and specially drivers simply suxx very much! After spending several days and nights in the internet, trying to find a solution/workaround for my problems, I was pretty surprised how many BAD feedback Creative is getting regarding their drivers and software. Many many websites (Tuning, hardware reviews, support, gaming whatever) talk very bad about CL and their drivers and all of them say that something is going wrong at CL.
A big company like CL can not act like this and they will get what they deserve in the future. Specially their mess with the XFI card and crackling. Many people with a lot of knowledge are pretty sure that the XFI Hardware simply is not as good as it should be. Creative has made a sticky in these forums where they told us that the Nforce 4 Chipset may cause those problems, however ... after spending an hour talking with Nvidia Support guys, I am pretty sure this is not Nvidias fault.
Specially because I have the same problem now with my new Nforce 590 Board and people with Intel, Via or whatever Chipsets have similar problems. According to Creative Labs all those chipsets are bad, but I don't believe that. The XFI is bad, that's it! It's crap piece of hardware that was never tested enough and because the guys that code the driver and software for those hardware completly fail in doing their job ... it makes no sense for me anymore
Now like said: Everything works fine in my system except my XFI Card. Because I see that it does not help to wait for drivers anymore, I decided today to get another XFI Card from another company. Which works absoluty nice for me without any annoying problems, sound-effects and crackling.
Since more then a year I did not had sound like this and now I can finally play all my games again with enabled SLI Mode. This is what I expected from my XFI a long time ago. I am not that hardcore freak and don't need all the nice features and extras that my XFI offers. All I wanted is to play games with nice surround sound, without any bluescreens and sometimes listen music or watching videos on my PC. The XFI was not able to do this for me without any trouble. This are basic features that every onboard soundcard can offer, but not my XFI due to very bad designed drivers and software that was coded by guys that should find another job !!!
Every company got flamed at the beginning. ATI, NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and many many others got flamed because after release of Vista not everything was working. But all of them got that point that users are very angry and spend a lot of time, energy and money into driver/software part. The one and only company that fails here is in my opionion just Creative. I don't see any other companies right now that get flamed so much for their very bad Vista Support.
Now I am done with this crap. My life is too short to waste my time here every few days to see if anything got fixed by CL. So I do that what many people are doing right now ... leaving you and use a soundcard from another company!
For sure I will tell all my friends how bad CL is and that they should never buy a CL product anymore, but most of my friends already know about these problems and bad products from CL so even if I give them money and a XFI for free, they don't want it! This is all what I can do as a customer. Sure, Creative is a big company and it's not the end for them if a guy that used CL products for 5 years leaves them, but I hope many of you will follow and let creative know that you don't like what they are doing right now.
So it's time to say Goodbye! I wish you the best and hopefully you will get stable drivers and software one day. You paid a lot of money for your stuff and its simply the job of CL to make sure your stuff works fine! If they fail in this, you should not use their products anymore to show them that you don't like that!
Last but not least: There are many great people here which do their best by releasing custom drivers or modified software, or trying to help other people that have problems. Those people finally get a big THANK YOU from me! It's nice to have guys like you here, without you we simply would be lost totally because we can not expect anything from Creative anymore!
I could write 000 more pages about what I think about Creative and their products, but I think everything was already said 000 times in these forums and on other websites. To make it short: Creative Products suxx! Nice hardware, horrible software/drivers! But who cares

Oh creative ... because I am pretty sure you will delete this posting ... do me a favor and delete my account here to. Like already said: I don't use your crappy products anymore and I am using a soundcard now that works fine! So instead wasting my time with complaining here and checking out new drivers (just to find out the release notes just look like this: - added BlueScreens for several Mutliplayer Games), I simply can start playing my games and don't have to waste my time here anymore! Something is really wrong there in your company, sad that you don't realize it. Some people there definitily need a new job!!! And if you don't realize that, ALL of you need a new job because no one will buy your products anymore in a few years! The XFI was your Flagship! If you don't support it, no one can help you anymore!

I had really little problems with it (never used an Nforce after NF2) and was a satisfied customer.(i choosed the Xtreme Music?in the know that the advanced functions as X-Ram etc. will not find broad use or will not bring big performance).Eventually i decided to go risky and try to use Vista 64 Ultimate and for some Weeks only OnBoardsound worked for me and this is really bad sound compared to the X-Fi, so?i am happy i have my X-Fi working with the latest drivers. Thx Creative!?But i am only using 2. Sound or Stereo-Headphones, so i dont miss 5. or 7. Sound. I switched my Micro to a USB-Micro (from Logitech) as only this is working right so as i want. I had to disable CnQ on my machine as i?got frequently BSOD after installing my Soundcard, without CnQ i do not have any BSOD. One thing i can not blame to Creative, i had the Asus M2R32 and this Board seem not to work with X-Fi as i got the SOD around every 20 mins, but my PhysX was not working too, so i think the Asus-Board is crap!?I will say, there is good and bad about Creative and the X-Fi and the drivers, but it is the best Sound i can have and so far working good enough to not displease me, no crackling, popping, BSOD, only good Sound!Creative has some troubles (mainly from their own fault) and i hope they will find a solution for all the problems to stay in business another successfull decade.
