Answer machine is not playing recording long enoug...

hello, can anyone help i have a bt graphite 1500 with answer machine,but problem i am having is when anyone wants to leave a message the machine is not running long enough to receive a full message,is there anyway of lengthing the time you have to record? at the moment its about 5 seconds not long enough to record any message which leads me to beleive whats the point of having one!!!! please help anyone out there is they can help or had similar problems.

However I cant find any way to change the message time which is usually long enough as I think it should just continue until a long silence occurs

    All modern & new Macs can play both PAL and NTSC DVDs.  I do it all the time and it works perfectly.
    The DVD drive is set to its first region code when you first play a DVD in it.  So when you buy a Mac, whatever type of DVD you play first will determine the initial region code that is set.   If it's a PAL/Region 2 DVD it will set the DVD drive to region 2.
    The only thing you have to watch out for is if you have a collection of DVDs that have different region codes.  In those cases you may be faced with changing the region code in the DVD drive in order to play one or more of the DVDs; and as others have noted there is a limit to the number of times you can change the region code (most modern DVD drives allow up to 5 changes; the 5th change becomes the permanent change).  This is due to industry licensing practices.
    If you have DVDs that are Region 0 or All Regions you don't have to worry about region codes.

    Hi, everyone. I have a very big problem with my Ipod 4g touch.
    I've made several audio notes by standart dictophone. But two of them are not playing. Also the're not displaying in iTunes. I don't want to loose these notes, because they're very important.
    The length of the first audio note is 2 hours 20 minutes.
    The length of the second audio note is 1 hour 25 minutes.
    I already made several notes with length = 1 hour 30 minutes, and they played correctly. Please help - what should I do?

    Yes, it just sits instead of auto-playing.
    I can't figure out what's going wrong. I can manually start the audio behind the scenes using the web console. Here's how:
    * Select and copy the following line of script:<br><br>document.querySelector("audio").play();
    * Double-click the MP3 to call up the player
    * Press Ctrl+Shift+k to open the web console
    * If necessary, click next to the caret (>>)
    * Paste and press Enter to run the script
    At that point, the MP3 should start playing and you can close the web console. Obviously that shouldn't be necessary, but Google's code usually is too complex for me to debug.

  • ITunes 8.2 not playing any long files

    I've had every single episode of the Ricky Gervais XFM shows from years back on my iTunes for about 3 years now, and have listened to them over and over until I installed this latest version of iTunes. It will now no longer let me play any of the shows and will freeze up completely causing me to have to Force Quit it. The files open with no problems in Quicktime and other software, but iTunes fails to recognise them completely. I can't even re-import the files as it just freezes iTunes yet again.
    Is there any way I can use iTunes for what it was designed for? Or am I going to have to revert back to the old software?
    EDIT: It took about 45 seconds to start playing a 20 minute file just now, but at least that started playing.
    EDIT 2: Tried waiting even longer, it took about 2 minutes to start a 58 minute file. This is an absolute joke.

    iTunes for Mac will not import nor play Windows Media Audio files. QuickTime will play them if you have the freeware Flip4Mac codec installed, but that won't work in iTunes. You may be able to convert them with EasyWMA or with QuickTime Pro and the Flip4Mac import codec (not the free version).

    now i can record the greeting 
    and i config a DN like 60002 with PlayAgentGreeting call type,and the call type associate PlayAgentGreeting script
    i dial 60002 from my CTI OS client i can hear the greeting .
    but when i enable agent greeting on CTI OS,and answer a call in number ,it can't play greeting.
    i look the script but no run this script .
    i look the log with CTI OS server and find the client can't sent the dialed number ....
    can i loss some config with play script? like CTI OS client config?

  • Can't record long enough outgoing message

    We are all-volunteer nonprofit dealing primarily through email.  Need outgoing message that briefly tells story, directs caller to more useful point of contact.  Trying to record message, I get cut off at about30 seconds.  I need to create longer message if Skype will be effective to support our organization.  How do I do it?

    The problem (above post) is not recording a conversation (this can be done by downloading messenger plus, skype add on I believe) but extending the time available for your own outgoing message when someone calls you. I also would like to be able to do this, but it only gives you a one minute window to record your outgoing message and you have to record it directly into the computer mic. Is it possible to swap the recording for another file in the same format? Otherwise the only way to do it, might be to use a freetalk adapter (or similar) and plug in a physical answer machine that does have this option (they are not many but they do exist) but this means spending out on the additional hardware of freetalk adapter and answer machine. I however, do already have an answer machine which will allow a longer message, although I havent set up the skype number yet as I was hoping to solve this first.
    Could skype not just extend the record time or better still just have a darg and drop option so you could justdrop an mp3 file into this location?

    Last August there was a huge thunder storm in this area and an electricity pylon was struck.
    When I returned home from work my computer and answer machine did not work (although my home hub and telephone were ok ) and I assumed a power surge had killed them.
    I replaced the computer and my broadband connection worked as it should however when I got around to replacing the answer machine the telephone worked but the answer machine would not record messages, I thought I had a faulty set so I exchanged it for another but with the same result.
    I didn't get around to taking it back so last week I bought another answer machine but a different model and the same thing is happening, the phone works but it will not record messages. I took both sets to where I work, plugged them in and they both work perfectly.
    I have contacted the BT fault line and was advised that there is nothing wrong with my phone line so I am at a loss at what to do next
    Has anyone come across this before or has any ideas of what the problem might be and how I can fix it?

    To be honest, most people I know who are BT customers have given up on answer machines. Have a look at this:-

    Replacing machines/repairing them is for many a thing of the past. Many handsets come with them built in, but the link above might be worth a look at.
    I dont know why your machine wont work, and TBH, I wouldnt waste your time trying to find out. Sell it or give it to a friend or relative and use the service that BT provide Free of charge is my advice.

    First important question is, is it a real answering machine or something like a Voicemail service. With a real answering machine click HERE to see how to set up your fax and answering machine. Be awere of the fact that the message you record on your answering machine needs to be recording to several rules. But all this is explained on the page you can reach by clicking on the link above.
    Voicemail service will most likely not work with the fax, but there are som e internet sites with thing you can try. A Google search on use a fax with voicemail will help.

    How did you do this burn? Did you use a program like iDVD?  A DVD player requires that the data on the DVD is recorded in the proper format: MPEG-2.  A program like iDVD will do this.  There are other programs available that can do the proper coding (Roxio 'Toast' for example), but iDVD has the most features and is easy to use.  It is no longer available from Apple, but if you search on Amazon, you can find 'iLife 11', a suite of programs including iDVD.  It will function properly on Apple's current operating system, but it cannot make a High-Definition (Blue-Ray) presentation.  It is Standard Definition only, as are all regular DVD's. One good way to present photos on a TV is to make a slidesow in iPhoto, then export that slideshow to iDVD, where it will be properly formatted for a DVD player.  Or, iDVD can make its own slideshow of up to 99 photos.  HTH.

  • Home recorded CD will not play...

    Used my iMac (Intel) to record a CD of songs that were already on my Mac, in order to be able to listen to these tunes later in my vehicle. To make a long story short, the CD plays on my computer, also on a G4 867, but will NOT play on my wife's G-3 laptop, nor on the CD player in my Chevy Blazer, nor on the CD player in my wife's Chevy S-10 pickup.
    The songs were recorded on a Fujifilm CD-R disk holding 80 minutes or 700mb of music. The songs take up about 580mb on the disk. They were recorded at the slowest recording speed available on my Intel Mac (8x).
    I assume there is a simple explanation for this, but I can't figure it out. Any and all help will be appreciated.

    Hey Phil. Did you record the CD using iTunes or some other way? Forgive me if I am telling you something you already know. You would need iTunes to create an audio CD that would play in other players. If you just recorded a CD with a bunch of MP3 files on it, then it would act as a data CD and not play as an audio CD would. You could of course play the MP3 files on another computer but you couldn't just insert the CD into an audio CD player.

  • I am having problems syncing recently recorded songs to my iPod. I am using an ion program to record vinyl records to iTunes. The songs are in the iTune library and will play on the computer. When I try to sync they show up but do not play. help

    I am using an ion piece of equipment to record vinyl reccords to my iMac and in turn save them in iTunes. I have recorded many records this way and have never had a problem until yesterday. I recorded three songs from records to iTunes and was successful as they are on the song list and will play on the iMac. When I tried to sync them to my iPod they showed up on the menu but would not play. The iPod just skipped over the new guys. Am I doing something wrong or has my ion program flipped out? Any help would be appreciated by this old man. Thankyou

    This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

    I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
    Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
    Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs can not be renamed.  If you no longer use the .mac or .me email address be sure to add your valid email address as an additional email address.

    When you start Messages fro the first time you are asked for an Apple ID
    When this is verified and entered it appears in Messages Menu > Preference > Accounts and is Enabled.
    The App should have also picked on on those iChat Accounst you had before.
    These should be Enabled if they were when you last used iChat.
    Exactly which "Accounts" are logged in can be seen in Message Menu > Accounts and will include the iMessage "Account" and Bonjour.
    In the Window menu you will see CMD +0 for the Messages window and CMD+1 for the "Buddies" window which is a combined list at this stage.
    Go to the Preferences > General Section and Untick the "Collect all accounts into one list".
    This will give you separate iChat type Buddy lists.
    You can check if that account/Buddy list is set to Invisible or if in the Preferences > Accounts > Security you have settings that will block some people from seeing you as On line.
    You are saying Buddies can see you as On Line which implies they are still sending to your AIM based Names (@Mac.com is a valid AIM Screen Name)
    I am not sure from your post if you are trying to iMessage their email IDs thinking they are Apple IDs and that they are using Messages as well.
    There is no Buddy list for iMessages side
    No-one can tell you are "On Line" until they have your details in the "To" spot in Messages with the correct iMessaged contact info (iPhone Number or Apple ID)
    Obviously an Apple ID can be an email or look like one.
    In some cases they are also valid AIM Screen Names as well.
    In the case or the @mac.com name you may have linked this Apple ID to iMessages as well.
