The Mac has never needed "Full Screen". It has done multiple screen Extended Desktop since 1987.
Full screen is an iPhone feature, carried into this verion with the mult-touch gestures and other so-called "unifying" features.

Apple Support admitted an Issue with WEP authentication and some Routers

After reading many posts here and other places I logged a service call to Apple support. With the particulars: AT&T U-verse 2 Wire router would not connect with WEP would connect with Security disabled. I wanted a call logged before I went past the return time
I got a call back immediately after a few basic questions I was passed to a product manager for ipads, it seems connectivity issues are taken seriously.
The upper level support said there were known issues with some routers and WEP security we steeped through changing the security and it works fine now.
Bottom Line:
Apple knows there is an issue with some routers
They were very helpful and acknowledged the issue.
He even stayed on the line while I reconfigured one of my Windows PC to make sure it connected to the new settings
I suggest to all to log a call and get a tech support involved before taking the iPad to the local store
They certainly new their are some connectivity issues. If that does not work you can always return it.
He did not admit it was a Apple issue and did not commit that Apple was working on it but it is something they are aware of.
So skip the Apple store got right to tech support.
Just my 2 cents.

Can't agree more. I used to manage a tech support department and it is all about the numbers. No matter how many forum entries the issues that get addressed are dictated by the reports.
So for those that are buying new routers contact Tech Support first even if you end up getting a new router the call is logged that will get Apple's attention.
People that are not familiar with post launch processes have no idea how things that need to get corrected and enhanced are dictated by support requests

Issue with sent items disappearing from Outlook

We are having an issue with many of our users who have had their sent items disappear from Outlook. We are running Exchange 2010 SP2 with Rollup 8. All users on Windows 7 appear to be working fine, it is just users on XP that are having the issue. All
PCs are SP3 with updates applied. The messages were there previously, but the Sent folder shows empty as of Monday. They show correctly in OWA, it is just in Outlook itself that is the problem. If we enable cached mode the items populate, but our standard
policy is to run online with no local PST. We have tried running Outlook with /clearviews and in Safe Mode, but this does not resolve the issue.

From your description, all the sent items are correct in OWA. So the Exchange Server is ok.
About this issue, I recommend you install all the latest Windows updates and check the result.

Undecorated Frame (with title bar)

Is there a way to put a title bar accross my frame but remove the small buttons in the right side of the title bar? I can't really have "undecorated" frames since the user has to be able to resize and move the frame, but I don't want them to be able to see the "X" to close the window. I have disabled it by setting the default close operation to do nothing, but I am sure I will get complaints when they click on that and nothing happens (the way they close it is the same way they opened it -- via a checkboxmenuitem), so I think if they don't see the red x in the upper right corner they will just assume they have to use the checkboxmenuitem (and uncheck it) but if they see it they will want it to close it for them. Any ideas? I had thought of overriding the frame to catch the close operation but then I have to hook that frame to every checkboxmenuitem and it would get really hairy.

If I'm reading this right you have a JCheckbox with a listener so that when it 'unchecks',
there's some sort of code generated prior to the child window closing.
If so, can't you just add a windowlistener to the child frame, and in windowClosing 'uncheck' the checkbox

Problem with title bar icons to change window size

i am running v 2.6 on vista 64 bit with a dual core processor. the window opens full screen on my Eizo 24" monitor set at 1900x1200 but there are no choices in the top right of my menu bar to shrink, move the window. i therefore cannot shrink the window or move it to my second monitor. if i right click on the lightoom icon in the taqsk bar, there are no choices to move, size, minimize,etc. other applications including photoshop work fine with easy control of window size so i do not think it is my system or graphics card. contol-Q does not close the program and the only way i can do so is from the file menu.
help please.

Turning menu bar on with title bar off

I love how the title bar is gone from Firefox 4 and when I press ALT I can get the menu bar up next to the FIREFOX drop-down
I want to turn the menu bar on permanently, but as soon as I do the title bar comes back and the Firefox drop-down goes away (taking up more real estate).

You can't. You can either see the menu bar or the orange Firefox button.<br />
You can however customize the Firefox button or place extra items on the title bar.

Panel menu title bars disappear

I have a long standing problem with the panel menus top and scroll bars disappearing. This happened in CS5 and still occurs in CS6 for me. I use a Mac Pro hexacore with three monitors (two video cards). It occurs after placing a document or switching from another app. Resetting prefs does not help. The work around is to reset the workspace or hit the tab key twice to redraw the palettes or click on the finder and back on an ID window. I leave lots of panels open on the right secondary screen with the main interface on the primary screen and misc. on the left screen. No issues like this in other apps.
Any thoughts?

Tethered Shooting issue: Camera Control Bar disappears

When I start to shoot with the tethered capture bar, the bar disappears after 1-2 shots.
It's not hidden - there's slight "artifacts" left on-screen.
Example:
Before starting to shot tethered - see the bar properly displayed
Here's the problem - after taking a tethered shot, the bar disappears,except for the black square to the right of the menu bar (above the top right corner of the photo). That black square is actually the animated progress indicator that spins when processing a new photo.
When I pass the cursor over the black square, or over a few other completely hidden areas, the cursor changes to a hand to reposition the tether bar, it's just not visible.
Control-T (hide/show tethered capture window) does not help.
Stopping & restarting tethered capture makes it visible again, until I take a photo.

Your Firefox might be stuck in full screen mode. You can use the F11 function key to switch between full screen and normal display modes. If you do not have an F11 key, sliding the mouse pointer to the top of the screen and right-clicking should display a short menu to exit full screen mode.

Issue with title field in IT0002

Hi All,
I am maintaining standard infotype field TITLE in IT0002 for country Mexico.
I can see all the input values I maintained in F4 help but the icon for title is appearing too small that
although I am able to see the input help but cant select them.
This is only happeing for country grouping 32 i.e.e Mexico.
I have checked screen modification and scren header which seems to be fine. Feature is also maintained fine.
Can anybody pls tell me why this is happening?

We have a web application that uses struts framework. In the action class,i am setting an attribute of request object like
request.setAttribute("Val",new Double(11.25489));
I am using jstl fmt:formatNumber function in the jsp page to format the value to 2 decimal places.
<fmt:formatNumber value="${Val}" maxFractionDigits ="2" />
When i access the jsp page,there is no display of anything.
If i access using <c:out value="${Val}"/> ,it does print the value.
Interestingly,tomcat does not generate any corresponding java file in its work area.
Any clues...anybody ?

Ok you are setting the value in request scope?
How does the control transfer from the Struts Action to your JSP page?
Check the struts-config to see if that forward is configured as a "redirect". If that is so, your request attribute would be lost, because a redirect causes a new request.
The following code prints out all request attributes that are currently in scope.
It might help checking to see if your "Val" is in scope or not.
