Answers on a postcard!!

Hi All,
I'm at my wits end with this one and I'm hoping somebody can
help.
Whenever I've used Robohelp in the past I've written
documents from scratch, but now I find myself in import territory
and nothing seems to work the way I would like.
A colleague and I have a document set of roughly 30 docs and
we need to covert them to HTML format to create an online help
solution. Every time we import the Doc files Robohelp seems to make
a mess of the formating - font change, gaps appear between lines
and paragraphs, bullet numbering goes crazy, etc. I think it has
something to do with the Headings used in the original docs but I'm
not entirely sure.
Something else that keeps happening is that we get topics
that consist of just the subject heading, while the main 'body' is
placed somewhere completely differnt in the TOC.
Does anybody have any expereince of importing from Word into
Robohelp for Word, and if so have you got any suggestions for how I
might make this less painful and more easy? Would I do better
simply rewriting the material straight into RH/Word, rather than
trying to import it, for example?
By the by, I did also try importing the Word docs into
Robohelp for HTML, but met with similar issues there.

    They initially fail and message is displayed stating unable to download / purchase at this time, yet if I retry it says I've already purchased (?) or alternatively I go to the purchased section and there they are waiting with the cloud symbol..
    However some items get frozen in the download window and cannot be retried or deleted. Message appears stating to tap to retry, but even if you stole every bath and sink in the uk you'd still not have enough taps.
    I post here as the iTunes guys are useless in there 'help' and have only advised posting here or phoning apple, at my expense, to explain a problem that could be rectified by forwarding my original email to a techie. However the tech team apparently don't have an email address as they're from ye olde Middle Ages..!
    Anyways I digress.
    So I tried sync to pc, but instead of showing the file as ready to listen/use/view, the iCloud symbol shows and I'm back to square one as the item is unable to download..
    At frustration station waiting for a train from pain...
    All my software is up to date, and had all worked fine prior to the last big iOS update that resulted in all the changes in display and dismay.

  • TS1424 I can no longer purchase music or books. Visa etc up to date. Downloads sign just keeps flashing but not downloading

    I have downloaded books and music for two years. Now when I try to the songs do not download. When I press green buy book it goes blank and nothing downloads. My visa is fine and details current. Also when I shut down and next day open up iTunes the same download light is still flashing but nothing downloading. I do not know how to stop or delete this.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi there,
    I've tried hooking up to my pc and downloading.. And it's now on my pc, but I still cannot get on iPhone.
    I've tried copying across in iTunes to no avail. It still comes up as saying the file isn't there and is only in the cloud.. And surprise surprise when I try to download from the cloud, I cannot download at this time.. Please retry.
    Please please please forward to the brainiacs who created the new iOS as it has caused nothing but confusion and errors with iTunes and App Store purchases since it's launch.
    I also have 37 unread emails, even though all accounts and folders are ticked as read.. But that's just the great thing about this new iOS... Fan-tas-tic.
    Please can you allow me to listen to my purchases that I have paid for on my apple products which I have also paid for...

  • HT4623 I can no longer send photos from my Iphone 4G. Also not receiving any photos sent by family members. I did the reset of the entire phone & restored from Icloud backup still having same issue.

  • I can no longer hear my phone "ringing" since latest update. Same ringtone sample in iTunes south louder than it actually play once bought. I am missing calls due to poor volume

  • I can no longer save emails or documents to file. How do I restore that function withoutrestoring to a previous date, which as I understand it might dele te all changes I have made to software subsequent to the restoration date?

    When I hit "save as" and view the field that comes up, it does not give me the option any longer of saving to my personal file. This problem started a few days ago, when it took me into my personal files and allowed me to select a specific folder to save the document in, but no longer gave me the option of hitting "save" into that file folder. I know that I have made changes in trying to correct the original problem, but now I don't know how to get back to where I was before.no longer

  • I can no longer edit the info for my songs, movies and tv shows.  This occurred since I loaded Windows 7 Pro on my C drive, and then fownloaded ITunes 10.  Why will the program not allow me to access the track info to edit it?

  • Aperture won't open in OS 10.5.5

    Hi people.
    Ok. I'm using an Intel Mac, with 3gb RAM. I've just taken some photo's with my Canon EOS 400D in RAW format. I plugged my camera in and flicked it on just so i could drop the images in iPhoto for some simple adjustments. The camera screen showed that it was 'BUSY'. After a few seconds, it just went to normal shoot mode screen. The camera wasn't mounting or anything. So i opened the EOS Utility piece of software that came with the camera, and it wouldn't open (in force quit, i was presented with "Program not responding"). Ok i thought, i thought i'd give Aperture a go. Aperture (2.1) wouldn't even open.
    I've done a bit of research, and found that there's an EOS Utility update which I'm currently downloading, which I'm hoping will solve the mounting issue, so iPhoto will recognise the camera. However, this shouldn't directly affect Aperture should it? Even with the camera disconnected, Aperture still won't open.
    I've had Aperture open in the last month, but i've not used it since i done the most recent 10.5.5 update. Anybody any ideas as to why this might be happening?
    All my software is up-to-date, the camera and leads are fine-and i've successfully used the camera and software to import RAW photo's previously. I'm a little stumped as to why this has happened. Is there an issue with the latest OS update that affect the compatibility with Aperture 2.1? I've re-downloaded Aperture, but no joy.

    The first thing to try (IMO important) is not to import directly from your camera. Get a Firewire-connected card reader (USB works also but is slow on Macs) and use the Mac's Finder to copy images from the card to a folder on the Mac hard drive. My description below describes a CF card, but the workflow is the same for an SD card or whatever.
    I feel pretty strongly that camera-to-Aperture handling of original images puts originals at unnecessary risk. I suggest this workflow, first using the Finder (not Aperture) to copy images from CF card to computer hard drive:
    • Remove the CF card from the camera and insert it into a CF card reader. Faster readers and faster cards are preferable, and Firewire is much preferable to USB2.
    • Finder-copy images from CF to a labeled folder on the intended permanent Masters location hard drive.
    • Eject CF.
    • Burn DVD copies of the original images (optional backup step).
    • Eject DVDs (optional backup step).
    • From within Aperture, import images from the hard drive folder into Aperture selecting "Store files in their current location."
    • Review pix for completeness (e.g. a 500-pic shoot has 500 valid images showing).
    • Reformat CF in camera, and archive DVDs of originals off site.
    Note that the "eject" steps above are important in order to avoid mistakenly working on removable media.
    Good luck! The camera-to-Aperture workflow may or may not be the cause of your specific problem this time but in any event card-to-finder long term will provide a more solid workflow.

    I think the point here is that sometimes people come from a procedural background (or maybe no background) and they start with main, and one static method leads to another. They reach a tipping point where they are reluctant to define non-static methods to a class because it's all static elsewhere. And static method can't access instance data, so their data becomes largely static as well. When the dust settles, they are programming procedually in Java. So too many static methods is a sign that you may be programming procedurally instead of doing OOP, but using static appropriately is still cool.
    And let's not get pedantic. What goes wrong if I make my String class's getLength method static?

  • Accessing mail account after 2.2 update -takes me to iPhone home

    Anyone else having this problem or know how it is resolved?
    I have just updated and have 3 email accounts which I have never had any problem with.
    Tonight (UK) after the update one of my accounts canot be accessed. When I select inbox (where there is unread mail) the email program closes and takes me to Iphone home where I can see all applications. I can access the the sent email and trash but not inbox.
    Hopefully it's a quick fix as I need access to email duing the week!

    So- went into mail account and switched off all mail. This meant I could get into mail (but obviously no mail visible) swithched them back on one at a time and pop email was the problem. Deleted pop account and set up again - but still same problem-says 1 mail in account (but there isn't) and when I select the 1 mail it crashes back to home page?
    So 2 out of 3 accounts are working and one is locked (ntl)...

  • Nokia n73 and Apple iSync problems

    hello all,
    I have a nokia N73 and an Apple macbook computer. I've been able to sync my n73 with my Apple (calendar and address book). It works for about 1 week and then stops working. I've tried deleting the n73 from iSync and installing it again (using both USB and Bluetooth). Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, which is really annoying.
    I have Mac OS X version 10.4.10. and iSync version 2.4 (501.2). i did not install any plugins because this version of iSync and Mac OS X are supposed to be compatible, but I have not been able to make them work.
    Any help?

    I have an iMac G5 with OS X 10.4.11, iSync 2.4, and an N73 Music Edition (not sure whether this makes a difference).
    I modified a config file several months ago (I forget the details, but I copy and pasted the entry for a phone with the same operating system, called it N73 et voila.)
    If I plug the N73 into the iMac via the USB cable and try and sync (after selecting PC Suite on the phone), connection fails. Every time.
    However, if I power off the phone, and power it back on, then connect the USB cable and select PC Suite, synchronisation works perfectly!
    I cannot explain why, but rebooting the phone enables iSybc to work every time. Answers on a postcard to...

  • 10.4.8 & Airport

    As a deserter from Bill Gates I was glad to leave and join the world of Apple where everything ran smoothly and didn't crash.
    But hey, should I have left? I wanted a quiet trouble free computing experience, but are Apple heading the same way.
    My Dual Core iMac has decided that following the installation of 10.4.8 it no longer wants to either join my wirless network or stay connected. In fact it no longer wants to connect.
    A real pain as my printers & NAS are all running wirelessly and now the iMac is next to useless.
    Whats the fix? How do I get back to 10.4.7?
    Answers on a postcard please!

    1. Leave AirPort turned on and apply the above Apple recommendation.
    2. If that does not resolve your issue, try the fix suggested by Pr0X:

    3. If that still does not resolve your issue, use ethernet and try downloading the 10.4.8 Combo Update for Intel, and installing over top of what you have.
    The combination of the above has almost returned my setup to its previous functionality. I can now leave AirPort turned on and it will reacquire the network upon awakening after full sleep. If AirPort is left turned on, it still can not auto reacquire the network after a restart or a cold start, however, it has further improved in that now I must only turn off AirPort and turn it back on, rather than log in to the network - not that it's any faster, really, just less effort.
    What is still true is that as long as I first turn off AirPort, I can do anything and still have AirPort auto-connect to my network when I turn AirPort back on.
    P.S. I found at least some incremental improvement in functionality with each step above.

    Ah yes school boy error there out of frustration and discontent..
    My issue is with music/apps/films etc not downloading from iTunes / App Store.
    They initially fail and message is displayed stating unable to download / purchase at this time, yet if I retry it says I've already purchased (?) or alternatively I go to the purchased section and there they are waiting with the cloud symbol..
    However some items get frozen in the download window and cannot be retried or deleted. Message appears stating to tap to retry, but even if you stole every bath and sink in the uk you'd still not have enough taps.
    I post here as the iTunes guys are useless in there 'help' and have only advised posting here or phoning apple, at my expense, to explain a problem that could be rectified by forwarding my original email to a techie. However the tech team apparently don't have an email address as they're from ye olde Middle Ages..!
    Anyways I digress.
    So I tried sync to pc, but instead of showing the file as ready to listen/use/view, the iCloud symbol shows and I'm back to square one as the item is unable to download..
    At frustration station waiting for a train from pain...
    All my software is up to date, and had all worked fine prior to the last big iOS update that resulted in all the changes in display and dismay.
