Answers results multiplied by some value

Hello!
In my project, I am using Win XP Pro, OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 and Oracle 10g. The physical diagram looks as per the link below.

In the BMM layer, I have Geography (Geo ID, City, State)and added GEO Details (Geo ID, City, City_Inclusion_Date, City_Exclusion Date) in the LTS of Geography.
A city in GEO Detail table can have multiple rows with different Inclusion and Exclusion Date.
In Answers, when I select a City from Geography and Booked Units from Booking table for any month (e..g November 2010), the values of Booked Units returned is a getting multiplied by some random no. I don't know why it is happening.
Have someone encountered anything similar. Please give your inputs.

Okay, there's another problem here. Somehow I brought in 0COSTELMNT to my InfoSource 0EC_PCA_1. This is NOT Standard and I would like to delete this from my InfoSource.
However, when I attempted to delete the 0COSTELMNT from InfoSource 0EC_PCA_1, I get the following error:-
 The InfoObject 0COSTELMNT is still used in the following places:
 In the update rules for Data Target 0PCA_C01 InfoSource 0EC_PCA_1
Please advice how can I delete this 0COSTELMNT from my Update Rules ?
Could this be the cause of the 3x data ?

How to populate a text field by some value from table in Oracle seeded page through Personalization?

I have to populate Description field by default in AGIS page (Advanced Global Intercompany System).
Field Description:
messageTextInput: Description
VO: FunTrxHeaderVO
VO Attribute: Description
VO is entity based.
Now if the field is null then I have to populate this value by some value from table for selected batch_id.
Example:
(SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM fun_trx_batches WHERE batch_id =
211061)
Also, this value is being populated in the Batch Information region in the same page. So the problem is also be treated as to copy a value from one messageStyledText to messageTextInput in a same page.
Can this be done through personalization, w/o coding?
Please suggest if you any idea how to resolve..

A filter value for Query is set with some value automatically

Hello SAP sourcing Guru!
I created a query which has several filters.
Some of Filter's type is VLV.
When I preview the query somehow the filter values are already set with some value even though I did not set the default value.
For example, filter name is Region and there are four regions: Asia, NA, Europe, and SA.
I want to select one of them from drop-down menu. But Asia was already selected when I clicked the preview button for the query. I want to see "Please Select" instead of Asia from drop-down menu. I did not select "Prefill value from cache" for the filter. I made the filter Optional only. I did not set Default Value either for the filter.
Any clues?

Hi,
In the Default value field of the filter prompts, you need to mention the Class Reference ID of the corresponding field. E.g., if you have Contract document phase as a filter, then in that if you want to display a blank or none value, then you should use null:2016.
Similarly for vlv type, the system has a value 616. Hence if you want to display a None value insteead of Asia, use the following in the Default value field:
0:616:null.
The way to find the class reference ID is to goto the RG > Class Reference > Look for the field that you are attempting to default on.

Translated wire message missing some values

I am enqueuing an EDIFACT xml to B2B out queue (IP_OUT_QUEUE) which is getting converted to wire message and delivered correctly. But the translated wire message is missing some values:

In wire message, 'UNH+1+ORDERS' - this portion is not having values of Element-0052, Element-0054 and Element-0051. Why are this values ('D','07B','UN') missing in the translated wire message?
How can I make them appear in wire message?

Hi Siddhesh,
Check your ecs file. Possibly you have not defined these params in ecs file.
Enable the validation then you will come to know exact issue.

Missing some values for Navigation attr

Hi All,
1.     We are using a Navigational attr for an MD Info object
2.     This Nav attr is used in Cube(Checked box - as Nav @ cube level)
3.     Problem is : I am able to see all Navigation attr values data , but randomly missing some values for this Nav attr.

Cube neednot display all values of your navigational attributes.It displays only value for which it recieved the main infoobject.
eg :assume 0MATERIAL and nav attr say A.
Then only values for 0MATERIAL which is present in the cube the nav attribute will be displayed.

Using Answers result set as source for BIP

Hi, I'm running into a strange issue that I think is related to a configuration problem. I'm trying to use an OBIEE Answers result set as the source of data for a BI Publisher report. On the data model I choose Oracle BI Answers, but then when I click on the icon to select the answers result set - a blank window opens. It doesn't show either the USERS or SHARED directories for me to start drilling to find the answers result.
Here's some details:
1. BI Publisher security is set to use OBIEE server security. This appears to work properly, if I instead choose to write SQL directly against the OBIEE server, everything is working fine.
2. I am able to integrate BIP reports onto OBIEE dashboards with no issues, so the integration is at least working in that direction
3. I see this problem in DEV and STAGE, but it works fine in PRODUCTION
Obviously some sort of config issue, but I'd like to point our server admin group in the right direction. Any idea what could be hosed up?

I have a legacy application written in VB6 and using Oracle OLEDB Provider (version 9 and updated to the last ones from oracle site)
I've a problem during insert of a record using recordset method (AddNew).
The returned message is "Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may have been changed since it was last read. "
I know that problem is caused by a Before Insert trigger that I CANNOT change.
Trigger does not change any primary key values !!!. It put only some default values on other not rilevant columns.
I tried to use the recordset Property option "Update Criteria" = adCriteriaKey without success !
I had same problem with SQL Server but i solved putting into the trigger SET NOCOUNT ON.
I think problem is related to the fact that ADO tries to calculate number of affected rows and for doing that it use a where clause built on the changed columns but using values it had on the client.
Other important info:
Cursor = adUseClient (and i cannot adUseServer)
Provider= MSDAORA (version 9.2...)
Oracle server = 9.1
Trigger causing problem = BEFORE INSERT (for each row)

Submit a report program with same selection screen with some values exclude

Dear All,
I have to submit a stndard report program from a copied zprogram with same slection screen values ,
and in some slect-options some values will be excluded depending upon the zprogram.
How to make it.
I mean when i submit , same selction screen values should go along with , depending upon some condions i have to exclude some values .
for ex: selection screen from a to b
posting date should go same
but may be along with it i have to pass movem,ent type <> 202 to the submit screen ,.
how to do this?

Use BT ( between ) operator for 200 to 250 :
lr_move_type-sign = 'I'.
lr_move_type-option = 'BT'.
lr_move_type-low = '200'.
lr_move_type-high = '250'.
COLLECT lr_move_type.
And use NE ( not equal ) operator to exclude 202 and 203 :
lr_move_type-sign = 'I'.
lr_move_type-option = 'NE'.
lr_move_type-low = '202'.
COLLECT lr_move_type.
lr_move_type-low = '203'.
COLLECT lr_move_type.
It works just this way.

No I don't think there is way to do it without writing one by one
but you may not specify for empty select-options.

Missing some value of Message Notification from WorkCenter

Hi Expert,
I have scenario when user create message notification from workcenter, it will be send mail automatically to the user (mail account) in status new and I have successfully create it.
And the issue is =
When i preview the message from the transaction (from menu action), it will display the whole message.
But when user received the message via mail account, some value from the message is miss (not whole message will be appear)
Could anyone help me how to solve this issue?

I just used to have stalonetray running at the bottom of my screen. I made its height small enough to fit along with my conky 16px I think it was. Doesn't take up too much space.
Since I switched to i3, I find its better to just not use trays as I can simply assign a whole workspace for skype and so I don't need any tray.

i created a form with a report with the wizard. but very strange: when i try to insert a new value into a form it tells me
Erstellungs Datum must have some value.
on 2 input fields, but there IS an appropriate value in it, and in other required fields the validation works! no idea what could be wrong there, because i did all with a wizard and the values are correct!

Just add GET query parameters to the URL.
Besides, if you were using Java 1.6 or newer, then rather use [Desktop#browse()|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/awt/Desktop.html#browse(java.net.URI)] instead of Runtime#exec(). It is crossplatform while your runtime approach works in Mircosoft Windows systems only.

Fox editor for multiplying with minus value

Dear experts,
I am getting a source keyfigure of type amount and I need to change its value and need to send to the target in the transfornation.
So I am trying to do that in Fox formula editor ( I am not aware whether it can be done here or not but trying)
1) So I did like this
Sourcefiled * (-1) - > Syntax check is saying formula element is not allowed here
2) Then I tried like this
Sourcefield*-1 -> Syntax check is saying formula element is not allowed here
3) I tried with using the function Reverse sign.
NEGATIVE( sourcefield ) -> Syntax check shown correct.
Please tell me which is the best practise we need to follow to multiply the source value with -1 .
Do we need to do that in the routine or fox formula is ok.

If you have many fields which require this formula or other calculations then you can do it in End Routine.
Or if there is only one field on which you are going to apply formula then you can do it in field routine only by applying formula - In your 3 options - last option ' NEGATIVE( sourcefield )' is correct and will work fine.
For example, if you have amount field 10 then after applying this formula the amount value will be -10.
So in essence if one or two fields in transformation you can use field routine (strictly when you do not have to use any selects/loops in field routine) else you use end routine.
