Ant basics, webapp structure, and the build target

I've reviewed the standard build.xml
but apparently Tomcat and NetBeans suggest a slightly different webapp dir.structure layout.
That's making things a big confusing (on the Tomcat side), especially when it comes to the build target, creating the <servlet> and <servlet-mapping> configurations, and running the servlet.
I thought the target would be the webapp's root directory, but I'm 2nd guessing myself now that I see ant targets of build and dist.
Can someone clue me in about standard best practices here ?
I'm also curious about the use of the Tomcat manager app and how that works. thanks for any replies to sort this out.

I am working on this very thing as well...

  • Delete the Business Entity and the Building master data

    Dear all ,
Please I need to know the way to delete the Business Entity and the Building master data from the system.

    Hi Khairy,
You can allow the deletion of the object(s) at the below mentioned path.
RECACUST -> Tools -> Deletion of Real Estate Objects Without Archiving.
You can go to the relevant master data transaction and get an option to delete in the initial screen, an example is shown below.
Note that there are prerequisites for every type of object deletion.

There's more to resolution than pixel count. Consider the pixel size on the iPhone screen in comparison to the pixel size on your forty inch HD TV.

I am a beginning learner and have a test for Database Server (Oracle 9i).
There are about 1000 employees in this company ,and about 100 employees at the same time to use the online service in any time.
On hardware, there are a new Intel Xeox with 4 HDD (Raid5) and 3 indepentent HDD.And the OS is UNIX ,and with the Oracle basic request.By the way, thanks for your reading and help.

Put you controlfiles on raid disks. Multiplex your eedolog file on seperate disk not on raid. put your datafiles on raid disk. if your database work in archive log mode then place your archive logs on seperate disk.
I send you general distribution according to my knowledge but it can ba changed according to situation

    Thanking you
    Sridhar

    Hi Sridhar,
Yes Multimapping is possible without BPM from SP14 and above. But there are certain limitation on that as well. You can do only 1:N multi mapping and N:1 is not possible without BPM. In the case of 1:N mapping you would need to go for Enhanced Interface Determination and you will have a full advantage of that mapping if you use a adapter other than IDOC, HTTP and XI. In otherwords this holds good for adapters that runs on Adapter framework and not on Integration Engine.
    BPM involved:

  • How to install an entire directory structure and files with the LabVIEW installer

I think I may be missing something on how to do this - preserve a file directory structure in the LabVIEW build process.
Is there an easy way to distribute an entire directory structure (multiple directory levels/text files) and have the LabVIEW build process properly preserve and install them?   I included a directory in my build specification but it completely flattened the file structure and then so when the installer builds it, the resulting structure in the /data directory is flattened as well.    I'd prefer not to go through each file (~100) and setup a specific target location.   Is there an easy way to preserve the file structure in the build process/installer process that I am missing (maybe a check box that I didn't see or an option setting somewhere)?
    -DC

    Hi DC
Sorry for the delay in responding to your question.
You should be able to do this using a 'Source Distribution' as described below:
     - Right click on 'Build Specifications' and select 'New' - 'Source Distribution'
     - Provide a name
     - Add your files to 'Always included' under 'Source Files'
     - Under 'Destinations' select 'Preserve disk hierarchy' and ensure that 'Directory' is selected as the 'Destination type'
When building an installer your can then choose to include your source distribution and it will be installed to a location of your choosing.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind Regards

The <empty> target list will appear whenever JDeveloper has trouble parsing the Ant XML document. In this case, it is because of the reference to the common-build.xml file. See the thread named "Building with Ant" in this forum, where this issue was recently discussed:
Re: How to bold a label ?
The end result of that discussion was that, due to a bug in JDeveloper, you need to specify the full URI to the included file. In a future release we will allow the use of relative URI's.

What can I expect in the way of reception if my base station is in the house and the computer is in another building (2 exterior walls, 30-40 ft distance)??

Depends on things like the building structure and overall building makeup inside and between these walls. It will probably be fine, but there is only one way to find out for certain.

  • How to access structure in VBScript both Structure and it's only member has the same name

    Hello,
I VB Script how to access the structure's member if both the structure and the only member has the same name,
    Example,
Structure name is User and it has only one member called "User" with the Datatype of String.
When I call using User.User = "Some Text", it is giving me error so I couldn't assign any value to it.
    Kindly help me.
    Nallasivan

I am using VB Script to Access SAP web Services, the sap web service has a method called user change, there are 3 mandatory parameters username, password and passwordX.
Here username is string so I can assign value without any problem, password is a type of Bapipwd. Bapipwd is a structure and it has a member called Bapipwd. To access that from VB script I have to use
    Bapipwd.Bapipwd = "Password".
But when I try to put the statement Bapipwd.Bapipwd = "password" it shows an error message that "Bapipwd doesnt have member called Bapipwd".
The passwordX also a structure in SAP with the name of Bapipwdx and it has a member "Bapipwd"
If I user Bapipwdx.Bapipwd="X" it is working fine. Because both the structure and it's member name is different. But Bapipwd.Bapipwd is not working and it gives "Bapipwd doestn't have member Bapipwd"
I suspect this is due to both the structure and its member has the same name. Kindly help me to access the structure.

  • Dynamic Structure and Components Issue

    Hi,
I have a requirement of creating an inbound idoc program and populating dynamic structures. The program for the dynamic structure creation is as follows: ( I have been referencing Heilmans Blog ): The part for the inbound idoc creation works fine. The data will come in a flat file with Table name and 15 characterstcis. The table name is known at runtime. I need to create the dynamic table, find out the components and then populate the custom table with the dynamically created structures.
    Custom table: 4 components
Internal table from file: 15 components with value.
There could be more than one table in the flat file and not all components or char in the flat file is mapped to the table.
I have been able to code the part where the components in the structure and the file components are in the same order. The problem is if the components in the structure and the file components are not in the same order. I would appreciate some inputs in this issue.
The part that has to be worked out is:
    IF NOT L_TABNAME IS INITIAL.
        perform get_structure.
        perform create_dynamic_itab.
        perform get_data.
      ENDIF.

  • Event Structures and Do /While Loops

I have an Event Structure inside a Do/While Loop.  One of the buttons in the event is STOP which stops the do while.  The Stop Button itself is inside the event as suggested in the help.  My problem is when I hit the stop button everything inside the Do/While runs 1 more time.  Other than than the code works perfectly.  is this normal behavior for a Do/While ..Event Structure??

The attached file is the code in a nutshell.  I know it can sometimes be diffcult to TS w/o the actual code.  Prob is I wrote it in LV2011 on the Lab PC and I have LV2010 at my desk.  I don't have internet access in the Lab..of course.
If I hit the OK button 2x's it "does something...does something...build array" then again a second time.  The build array is added to with each click of a button in the event structure.  If the user hits the STOP it dumps the 2x's worth of data out to excel..except I get 3 rows of data rather than 2...as if the inner loop ran one more time.
Anyways. the only thing that caught my eye is the fact that I don't have a sequence structure around the "build data here" portion of the code.  Would that affect how the STOP inside the do while loop is handled??

  • Process Order Basic Finish Date and Scheduled Finish Date

    Folks,
I have a requirement from the business to be able to update the Process Order Basic Finish Date and Scheduled Finish Date independently from each other.
In other words, update the Basic Finish Date and the Scheduled Finish Date cannot change or update the Scheduled Finish Date and the Basic Finish Date cannot change.
I believe the reason for this is to be able to use the Basic Date to maintain the ATP accurately and keep the Scheduled Date to mark when the order was originally due from the shop floor to be able to measure if orders are being completed on time or late.
I have worked in tnx OPUZ and had some success with other issues with these dates but I can't seem to make them work independently from each other.
Or does anyone have any ideas how to measure proces order performance to the production schedule?
    Thank you for your help,
    Greg

Rajesha, thank you for your reply but it doesn't solve my problem.
    Let me restate my scenario:
I start a process order and both the basic and scheduled finish dates are the same, June 1.
At some point, shop floor tells me they will be late and cannot deliver until June 15.
I need to update a date in the system so the ATP and the MRP planning runs have correct information for promising customers, I will update the Basic Finish date with June 15.
I also need to keep the original June 1 date in order to measure the shop floor performance to the production schedule to measure how early or late the  order was delivered. How can I keep the original finish date or how can I measure if a process order is early or late??
    Thank you for your help,
    Greg

  • Directory structure and files in Oracle Application server 10g and 11g

    Hi all,
I am doing a lab migration from 10g to 11g based on the use of JAXB. There were some directory structures used in 10g to store the JAXB jar files and some other custom jar files. I want to know the equivalent folder structures in SOA 11g server. The 10g server directories are mentioned below:-
    1.<OracleAS_Home>\webservices\lib.
    2. server.xml located at <OracleAS_Home>\j2ee\home\config in 10g. Where can I find the equivalent file to "server.xml" in 11g server?
    3. <OracleAS_Home>\bpel\system\classes\com\oracle\bpel\xml\util.
    4. <OracleAS_Home> \bpel\system\classes.

Here are the equivalents as per best of my knowledge:
    1. <WebLogic Home>\server\lib
    For example, D:\Middleware\wls1036\wlserver_10.3\server\lib
    2. config,xml located at <Domain_Home>\config\
    For example, D:\Middleware\wls1036\user_projects\domains\ArunBaseDomain1036\config\config.xml
    3. It should be the same as 10g (instead of OracleAS_Home, it will be ORACLE_Home) if you install the BPEL product. Since, I have not installed BPEL/SOA, I am not very sure.
    4. It should be the same as 10g (instead of OracleAS_Home, it will be ORACLE_Home) if you installed the BPEL product.
Also, I would recommend that you consider using ORACLE Smart Upgrade (JDeveloper component) to help you with the upgrade process. It exactly points out these mappings of file/directory structures AND the necessary configuration changes as well.
If you are requirement, is only about making the library jars available to your application, then consider reading the below discussion.
