Ant for the build.xml file

when we give the ant command then what the background task perform?..
how ant start parsing the build.xml file ?

Go to ant.jakarta.org. They have numerous tutorials. Do some research first. If you run into an actual problem, then post what it is.

  • Antenna - problem reading in a property value from the build.xml file

    Hi
    I have declared a property in build.xml file of my project like
    <property name="debug" value="true" />I want to read the value of this property in my source code like
    //#if debug == "true"
    //#endifAbove method doesnt work. I tried using method below but it didnt work as well
    //#if ${debug} == "true"
    //#endifCan anyone please help me how can i read this value?
    Thank you

    you can get your key bytes with byte [] keyBytes = mykey.getEncoded();
    and then write your byte array in a file.
    to get back your key :
    SecretKey myKey = new SecretKeySpec(keyBytes,"TripleDES");

  • Better format for the AppDefinition XML file

    Hello,
    We are using CVS as our source control and are having some problems with the merge process on a AppDefinition file. Is there a way to achieve a better-readable format (i.e. shorter lines, better element indentation, perhaps even attributes indentation) for that file?
    Best regards,
    Igor Gorbunov

    Steven,
    I'd like to propose an enhancement request that JAG perform the formatting as do other XML wizards in JDeveloper. It is important for situations such as ours where we have a single application definition with over 60 groups. The unformatted app definition XML file is over 4700 lines and it takes JDeveloper over 12 minutes and 40 seconds to reformat it. With multiple developers and frequent commits, this is a bit ponderous.
    We've found that all files other than the app definition merge gracefully or allow easy resolution of merge conflicts. The recent JHS blog entry about version control helped us validate our approach, by the way.
    If JAG were to perform the formatting, it would also be easier to fix nuances in the app definition editor such as when you change a bound item to an unbound item, the attributename property of the item is sometimes retained and we need to edit the XML file to remove it. (oops, sorry, that should probably be a different entry in this forum)

  • Validating against schema file for the output XML file

    Hi,
      I am using XSLT for mapping. The output message is generated according to the mappings but it is not validate aganist schema of target . I am using xsd file from external defination section as target. Can any body help me in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Mallikarjun.M

    hi,
    if you talk about the schema of a target message type
    than validation only works if you use graphical
    message mapping
    not with: xslt,java, abap

    Hi there,
    I am learning j2ee at the moment. I have been throught the tutorial and got everything working (finally). however, now that I have started writing my own code, I am stuck with writing the build.xml file (as this is not covered in the tutorial, it is just provided). Does anyone know a good link that will give me step by step instructions on how to create my own build.xml file for my application.
    thanks

    You need to learn ant. Go here:

  • Where is the web.xml file in Tomcat 5.5

    hi folks,
    i made a small appl in Tomcat 5.5 named "Name". I made a WEB-INF folder inside the Name folder (which obv is inside the webapps folder), which inside had the classes and lib folder. After running the application where do i look for the web.xml file controlling my appl?
    thanx in advance..

    well, the web.xml file must be done for you. Its specific to your project, you wont find in on other folders of tomcat.

  • Help -- Who has experience with ant and build.xml files ?

    Hi,
    I think my build.xml file is missing setting a classpath I need, but I have never played around with a build.xml file. Could someone help ?
    Thank you.
    Grazia

    A lot of people here use ant. But not all of us can read your mind, and those of us that can are sadistic bastards that like to force people to provide details of their problems just for the hell of it.
    So please do the following:
    * Go through an ant tutorial or other introductory docs, doing an example or two if present.
    * Set up your build.xml according to what you've learned.
    * If it still doesn't work, post the relevant portions of it (hopefully you'll have a small, representative sample that reproduces the problem), along with your relevant directory and file structure, the command you're running, and what error messages you're getting.

  • Possible elements in the instanceconfig.xml file for presentation services

    g'day
    Has anyone here come across a list of all the possible elements that can be put in the configuration file for a presentation service, instanceconfig.xml ?<P>
    I have found next to nothing in the documentations, about what can be configured there.<P>
    What I am specifically after is: How can I change the default listening port for the Presentation Service? The default port is 9710 and I want to move to another port.<P>
    Also, how can I move the JavaHost from the default port 9810? I can change the file <i>OracleBI/web/javahost/config/config.xml</i> to reflect the change. Once the JavaHost has been restarted it starts up on the expected port, but the Presentation Service still tries to communicate over RPC to port 9810. How do I configure the presentation service to search for the JavaHost on a non-default port?<P>
    I have boiled it down to my original question: What are the possible values I can configure in the instanceconfig.xml file?<P>
    Any comments here would be great.<P>
    Cheers,<br>
    Borkur

    So, I had a little breakthrough here.
    I found in the OBIEE deployment guide, page 142:
    To change the Presentation Services listener port
    1 Open the instanceconfig.xml file for editing.
    2 Locate the <WebConfig> element.
    3 Within the <WebConfig> tags, create the element <RPC> and assign it the RPC Listener Port
    value for the BI Presentation Services instance, as shown in the following example.
    <WebConfig>
    <ServerInstance>
    <RPC>
    <Listener port="9715" />
    </RPC>
    </ServerInstance>
    </WebConfig>
    NOTE: In the preceding example, the RPC Listener port for the BI Presentation Services instance
    has been changed to port 9715 from the default of 9710.
    4 Save changes to the file.
    This almost works. The RPC element has been deprecated, as was reported in the sawserver.out.log:
    The configuration entry 'RPC/Listener' is deprecated. Please refer to the admin guide for more information.
    What I then did was to just remove the RPC elements and leaving the Listener element straight under there ServerInstance element. This seems to have solved the problem.
    I still have to figure out how to let the Presentation Service know that I have moved the JavaHost to antoher port ...
    Cheers,
    Borkur

  • Where can I find the config.xml file for my Edge project?

    Or is that a nonsensical question?
    Basically, I am producing a very simple iPad app using Edge and PhoneGap Build. It's all good to go apart from the orientation - I want to be able to lock it to portrait. On researching, it appears that I need to specify the web build/app as portrait in the config.xml file - so where would I find this?
    Thanks!

    I am not familiar with the phonegap process but I suspect the file you should be attempting to modify is called manifest.xml.

    I have been working on the same numbers file for the past few weeks.  The last time I opened it was 1 week ago.  Today when I tried to open it I am unable and getting a message that the file is invalid and the index.xml file is missing.

    Hi Tracie,
    I upgraded to Maverick OS X 10.9.5, numbers spreadsheet is saved. Upon re-opening, it appears to be frozen, a warning "file is invalid as index.xml file is missing". I checked, and the file is not "locked". This appears to occur only with using the new numbers app. When I open previous spreadsheets from old iWorks, no such problem occurs.
    How did you resolve your problem?
    Would appreciate any help here.
    Thanks,

  • Anybody know what's up with the menu.xml.files not being available for DW after installing on a new comp?

    Anybody know what's up with the menu.xml.files not being available for DW after installing on a new comp?

    Usually that error can be cleared up by renaming the personal config folder. Turn on your OS's hidden files and then go to...
    C: > Users > your username > AppData > Roaming > Dreamweaver (version) > your language > configuration
    Rename the configuration folder configuration-old and start DW up. That should create an entirely new configuration folder and correct the menu.xml file.
