ANT Install on WIN NT

Can I use JWSDP-1_0 on Windows NT 4?
In installation instructions it is mentioned that this WSDP-1_0 is not supported on win NT but can be installed.
So if I install it on Win NT where do I need to keep build.properties file?
When I try to to install it on Tomcat I get following error and build fails
D:\jwsdp-1_0\docs\tutorial\examples\gs\build.xml:82: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for
URL: http://localhost:8080/manager/install?path=%2FGSApp&war=file%3AD%3A%5Cjwsdp-1
_0%2Fdocs%2Ftutorial%2Fexamples%2FGSApp%2Fbuild
any suggestions will be great help

Thanx fzlx for the reply.
I tried the way u suggested but this time install failed because of other reason
connection failure.
Anyway in the meantime I was able to deploy the Web app, for this I executed Application Manager with explicitly assigning username and password
Thanx anyway.

  • Flash Player 10 Not installing on Win 7 64 bit PC

    Flash Player 10 download goes through install procedure and says it is installed but it is not.
    After that There is always  a Flash Player Install file on the PC.
    When I click on that it goes through the install procedure and says it is installed but it is not.
    Have tried above install more than 6 different times. Also on my wife's new PC.
    Always the same bad result.
    These two new PC's are both on WIN 7 64 bit OS.

    I tried the suggested method of uninstall and then install.  Also the disable instructions for Norton AV.
    Still no success.  When I again check the list of programs in Control Panel for possible uninstall the Flash Player 10 has returned there.
    But the player does not play when needed for some videos on Facebook, etc.
    One thing I could not find to disable on Norton AV was "Smart Firewall."  It was not in my NAV 2011.
    Any other suggestions appreciated.

    Hi, I would try this method and see if it works better. There is a link for FF(Firefox) If you don't use FF, ignore that. Also before you begin this procedure, I need to know what Anti-Virus/Spyware programs you have Installed. Some will block the Install of Flash Player and that needs to be taken care of first.
    Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
    Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for IE- use the EXE Installer
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
    Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for FF- use the EXE Installer for plugin based (from the same site)
    Close all browser windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop.
    Disable any messenger services, as yahoo, msn, etc in the system tray(area near the clock)
    Be sure to use the Administrator Account.
    Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.
    Run the Installer for IE, Run the Installer for FF(If needed/used) and when finished, Reboot.
    Then go to this test site and test each browser:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    You may want to print these instructions to make it easier to follow. If you have any questions, let me know.

  • How I do a clean install of Win 8.1

    Since my initial post        "Why is option to create striped volume grayed out in disk management?"
    I have seen numerous threads re doing a clean install of Win 8.1. So I'm re-posting the info I got from Puget Systems  http://www.pugetsystems.com/ when I RMA'ed the ZenBook back to The Egg and got a laptop that boots in 1.7 seconds and works.
    Edit !That was time before any progs installed. Now that I everything on it's about 20 from hit restart to waiting on me enter P/W.
    Regardless of your system the advice I got from PS before the system was even built here in the US should apply as I ordered it W/O an OS.
    D/L Drivers from the systems Mfg. site. If it's a DIY Lego then from the Mfg. of products, i.e. chipset, video card, audio, etc.
    When Windows begins install;
    Choose Custom Install.
    Uncheck Let Windows load drivers.
    Uncheck any other options you don't want as well. I unchecked about everything and yet*
    When OS is installed
    Go into add/remove features and enable .NET Framework 3.5.
    Restart Then load Drivers. As mentioned in other post I had already drivers Dl'd from Puget's site
    and had in separate folder on flash drive.
    This is by far the cleanest, best running Windows version I ever had on a system and have been installing since Win 95 A.
    Hope this helps some of those who are having Clean Install issues.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your sharing on how to clean install Windows 8.1.
    I am not sure about what you mean about NSA, would you please give us the full name?
    For the IE 11 favorite, if you use Microsoft account to log into this computer and this account is used on other Windows 8/8.1 computer with Sync settings open, the favorites will be automatically synced here.

    Need to do a clean install of Win 7 on my Dv7 1464rw. I purchased this computer with Vista on it and HP sent me the upgrade for Win 7 as part of the purchase. Can I reuse these discs or do I need some other disc to do this? Also, Do I need to wipe the hard drive clean or will the install process do that?

    Do you have the license key with the Windows 7 upgrade disk? If so you should be able to use it to format and reinstall.

Please note page 17 # 19 for your memory options.  Please let me know the result.

I can attach one , if i put the second one is not working, i can see third monitor in the setting but no signal on the monitor.
    If my video card doesnt support the third monitor can I improvize something ?

  • "The Java Web Services" - ant install

    Hi, I recently downloaded "The Java Web Services" and "The Java Web Services Tutorial".
    And I've reached the Creating the Build Properties File portion of the tutorial:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.0/tutorial/doc/GettingStarted2.html#73059
    I'm using Windows ME and I have no idea where to put the build.properties file.
    Can anyone give me any suggestions? I am successfully able to
    ant compile
    but I can't get
    ant install
    to work once I have done the ant compile and I suspect this is because of me not having the build.properties file set... although it could be unrelated to that.
    when I try to use:
    ant install
    I get the following error at the command prompt:
    C:\tim\programs\jwsdp-1_0\docs\tutorial\examples\gs\build.xml:46: java.io.IOExce
    ption: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://localhost:8080/ma

    utorial%2Fexamples%2Fgs%2Fbuild
    Now tomcat is running on the correct port (8080) and the directory being referenced in the above URL exists. Am I supposed to map tomcat to a particular file system or something?
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Flash appears to install on Win 7, IE 8but will not display

    32 bit Windows 7
    IE 8, 32 bit
    FP 10.2.152.32
    FP S/W installation windows indicate that FP installed (Download Manager also says so)
    FP & Download Manager are both shown in Programs.
    History: Few weeks ago system was severely corrupted even though had McAfee Viruscan and Webroot Spysweeper. It was indicated every time an attempt to look at a video was made wherepon the computer would shutdown a few seconds afterwards. Working w/ Dell Support they determined the system was too far corrupted to save (7000+ files corrupted!!). They suggested that it would be preferable to install W 7 to replace then current XP operating system. Had disk formatted and XP operating system re-installed but only sufficient to  allow operation of email. When Windows 7 arrived fully installed along w/ new Word/Excel 2010 S/W. Retrieved backuped files successfully. Everything is operating OK except for FP. Every attempt to load (after repeated uninstalls) shows it to be "successful" but still won't allow videos to play.
    Based on perusal of thread, opened register to check on "kill-bit", found no indication it was set.
    What should I do next?

    Hi, what a terrible experience to have to go thru! I hope you don't still have either one of those "Anti-Virus" programs on your system. If not, what Anti-Virus/Spyware program(s) do you have?
    Yes it was terrible, but Dell (Solution Station, paid support) made this sickening experience bearable. Right now I have McAfee Total Protection 2011 for what it's worth (ya gotta have something) and I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (free version) twice a day to scan. The only thing it finds repeatedly is something in the registry defined as : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command\...
    So I can understand this, you now have Win7 on the computer? The backup files are from the XP that had the 7000 corrupted files?? When you reformatted XP, weren't those files lost? I guess what I need to know is how did those files get Installed onto the Win7 OS?
    Here's the sequence of events: I back up periodically with a WD My Book Essentials external drive, assuring that the system is as clean as I can get it and otherwise operating normally. I don't do it continuously for fear that I could be backing up corrupted files right up to the point the disk crashes The back up that was used was about six weeks old. The 7000+ corrupted files were cleaned before reformatting but would have been lost regardless when the disk was reformatted. After it was reformatted and before installation of W7, the  Dell reinstallation disk for XP was used. No backup files were loaded on this temporary XP system. When the W7 system was installed these backup files from the external drive were cleaned with Malwarebyes which found about 20 corrupted files. Since then only two have regularly appeared , they are in the registry defined as: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\regfile\shell\open\command\def...
    Also why wasn't the malware cleaned before reformatting?
    As indicated above, it was cleaned but never used again since it was all lost with the reformatting. The reinstalled software came from a six week old backup which has worked well and shows none of the malware, except for the few Malwarebytes intially found.
    One other thing, I revisited the "kill-bit" procedure. While I didn't find what you indicated, I did find these two entries with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ :
          Name                        Type                    Data
    "icon w/ab in it"             REG SZ            (value not set)
    "icon w/ab in it"             REG SZ            application/x-shockwave-flash
    Also, I was looking at your procedure in post #26, in response to jfirko where a vs 9 of FP is installed/uninstalled followed by the current version of FP. For my situation is this a worthwile approach?
    By the way, thanks for your interest in solving these problems. So many programs now use the flash player but there are so few sources to turn to when problems occur.

    Hello. I've made that.
    1. Create build.bat in the folder docs\tutorial\examples\web\hello1 with a content:
    =================================
    set JWSDP_HOME=c:/jwsdp-1_0_01
    %JWSDP_HOME%/bin/ant.bat -buildfile build.xml -logfile build.log %1
    =================================
    2. You have to specify a correct server manager username and password to the build.xml at the line 86. You can find these in the %JWSDP_HOME%/conf/tomcat-users.xml or you have to add the username, password and associate with a role "manager". This is the tomcat-users.xml content:
    =================================
    <?xml version='1.0'?>
    <tomcat-users>
    <role rolename="manager"/>
    <role rolename="provider"/>
    <role rolename="admin"/>
    <user username="your_name" password="your_password" roles="admin,manager,provider"/>
    </tomcat-users>
    =================================
    This is the build.xml correct content at line 86:
    =================================
    <target name="install" description="Install web application"
    depends="build">
    <install url="${url}" username="your_name" password="your_password"
    path="${path}" war="file:${build}"/>
    </target>
    3. Run Tomcat.
    4. Run 'build.bat install' command.
    Good luck.

    I checked out targets.xml at line 15 which appears to refer to the context and war files.
    I went through the tutorial and modified the build file. In the set up, i put all the required files in the path.
