Antenna Selection for High ceiling (Warehouse)

i read nearly 500 topic on antenna selection for high ceiling and industrial warehouse environments  (~10m ceiling)
Question1 : both ant2544v4  and Ant2524 has ~60 degrees Elevation plane 3 dB beamwidth does it mean this Omni antenna could be mounted on 10m height without coverage issue ?
Question2:suppose installing plenty of 2702 with Ant2524 or Ant2544V4 in close adjacency , does CleanAir2 helps to avoid interference ?
Question3:if i want avoid directional antennas to cover aisles using dipoles is the last solution ? (if omni antenna cant afford enough elevation due to its nature )
my warehouse area is something like this : http://www.pathguide.com/Images/Content/warehouse%20aisle.jpg
thanks

As I can see this location presents challenging RF conditions: high attenuations, reflections, multipath, etc. The fact that you need to implement Voice WLAN too, introduces more difficulties.
You have to conduct a wireless site survey. I don't know how much experience do you have with this activity or if you have the equipment and site survey tools required, but it has to be done.
In the worst case scenario you have to grab at least one or two APs from the model that you intend to install, set them up in stand alone mode with some test SSIDs and install them in the warehouse in different locations. Than you walk arround and try to measure the signal quality and attenuations. You cand use some free or trial site survey applications that can be found on the Internet.
You have to find out what protocol (802.11 a/b/g/n) the barcode scanners are using and what TX power are they capable of. You should set up your APs accordingly (the AP TX power should not exceed the client power, preferably it should be about half in order to benefit of CHD). The same has to be done for the Voice clients. The survey has to be done separately for each 802.11 protocol. I recommend taht you do some futher reading on the subject.
As for the antenna type, Cisco recommends directional antennas in high ceiling environments. However, I have installed 2702e APs with standard omni antennas in warehouses and they did the job very well. The difference in my case was that I installed the APs on cable channels at ~6-7 meters, not directly on the ceiling. Maybe you can find some other mounting possibilities besides the ceiling if you want to stick to omni antennas.
The co-channel interference between adjacent APs is avoided usualy by DCA and TPC not as much by CleanAir. However in 2.4 GHz there could be some interferences.
As a conclution you have to use some real APs in order to estimate, with at least a minimal accuracy, the position and number of required APs for the deployment. Do not forget about the cabling requirements for the APs, distances to the closest switch, electrical power etc.

  • Best Antenna selection for high ceilings

I was having a discussion with a co-worker as to the best antenna to use in high-ceiling environments, as in 25 feet or higher.  He was in favor of using a high gain, omni, such as a the AIR-ANT1728.  I was against this form of antenna due to their increased horizontal radiation and decrease of vertical.  I was more in favor of an antenna similar to AIR-ANT2430V-R.  I've seen succesful deployments with both options, but curious what the community has to say on the matter.  Any input or real world observations would be fantastic.
    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

Well.. I too have seen both and both will work, just depends on if they mount the antenna right and if the survey provides for adequate coverage and overlap. So it depends if the antenna is mounted at 25' or maybe 45'. The more down tilt the antenna had, the more coverage you will get below.

  • Firewire selection for high definition

I am now uploading High Definition footage via firewire...do I need a specific
firewire for high def or can I use the same one as before that I was using
    for DV.??

    +Either will work, but FW800 is faster.+
Technically true in general, but the speed of the transfer is determined by the speed of the device. Generally, for HD-type devices, that is FW400. Which firewire connector does your HD deck have, tlam?

  • WiFi frequency and antennas selection for warehouse environment

We are about to implement WiFi in our warehouse. Need some advice on the frequency and antennas.
We plan to use Cisco 5508 wireless lan controllers and 3502 APs. We are not sure if we should use 2.4GHz or 5GHz and which type of antennas we should use.
Any suggestions and advice are appreciated!

There are many different factors here. Generally I don't see why you wouldn't enable both bands since you are paying for both. Also if you are using the 3502i, then maybe just use the rubber ducks. There are other antennas out there, but not knowing your environment makes it difficult to help here. How high will these AP's be mounted by the way? Also, have you done a site survey or at least tested the coverage of these AP's in your environment.

  • Need a little help with antenna selection for a COW

    Hello fella's...
Ok, so I've gotten myself a little confused here and would like some recommendations.  We are ordering new COWs (Computer On Wheels) for the hospital and they will be using an Intel 6205 Wireless Chip which is a/b/g/n 2x2.  The two new floors these devices will be going on will be our first internal hospital entry into 802.11n which I force the clients to run in the 5ghz range for N.   Previous to this, all of my cows are G clients and use a 2.2dbi rubber duck for 2.4ghz.   I will be using 1142 AP's, if not 3502 and no I have not performed a survey yet as the floor is still in early construction, but equipment is required to be ordered now.  I can tell you that I will be surveying for a voice grade.  I suppose my confusion comes from what is the best antenna (obvious open ended question) for this card, being it has two connectors for the 2x2.  Again, typically I would use a 2.2 dbi rubber duck for either 2 GHz or dual band 2/5 GHz.  Is dual rubber ducks at 6inch spacing (half wavelength met on 2.4 GHz fall back) suffecient or are there other factors involved with the N.
    Thanks,
    Raun

I guess I'm under the impression that if you put a dual band antenna on a device, regardless wether it's a 2.4 radio or 5GHz radio, that the antenna would work, as it's well, dual band.  Am I wrong in that assumption leolaohoo?
I have heard back from wyse today with a little information on their provided antenna, but no radiation pattern.  This antenna would be referred to as the 'rubber duckie' style 'dipole'.  I'm not really having much of a choice as it stands now, as I am limited on space(height) to place the antenna and time (chinese new year for manufacturer).  However, one other question. I note that the 1142 and 3502's are horizontally polarized and this omni is vertically polarized.  With my limited understanding of antenna's, that's not a good thing... what is the typical associated 'cost' of a vertical to a horizontal?

  • Wireless Antenna Selection question

    Hi guys,
We recently installed (12) 3702e's with 2524 dipole antenna's in a 100,000 sq ft warehouse.  AP's run off of a 5508 controller and are Lightweight.
Key things to consider: These AP's are mounted about 32 feet in the air on the ceiling.  We need the signal to reach the floor and cover a fairly wide range.  That said, we have racks that reach up to about 5 feet from the ceilng and contain pallets with boxes on them.
We have folks with scanners on the ground that will be using the wireless.  Do these antenna's sound like they are the proper type of antenna being the AP's are 32 ft from the floor and need the signal to reach the floor?
Reason I ask, We are seeing our Cisco Wireless controller reduce the TX power levels on the AP's to 7 or 8.  I believe the power levels are dropping because the AP's are within a couple hundred feet of each other and have nearly direct line of site.  My theory is that they reduce power based of of that to prevent co-channel interference.  The issue is, if we spread them out more to get higher TX levels, we potentially lose Horizontal distance on the floor.
Is my thinking correct?  Should we be using a different type of Antenna?  See attached map to get a glimpse of what we look like.

  • How to Skip weight data from Sales order for Higher level BOM material

I have maintained a BOM at Item level with item category group LUMF.
And the higher level item is not subjected for pricing and costing. While creating the higher level Item I did not maintain weight for it. Now when I create a sales order due to the incompletion log system is asking to maintain Weight details for higher level item also.
But I donu2019t want to maintain weight for that item nor I want to remove net weight and gross wt from incompletion log.
While creating higher level material with material type FERT and I have maintained LUMF and all things are normal. Also tell me do I need to select any different material type or do I need to go for different settings ?
I hope my query is clear. Please ask if query is not clear.
    Please Guruu2019s suggest me.

    Hi ,
I do not know what a reference charactersitcs is,but there are all independant characeristics in terms of their values.
A guess it is because the VC data is changed after the sales order is created, the updated VC data is displayed properly only in VA02 or VA03 but other function modules fail to display the updated VC data.
I understand there is a relationship of instance -between sales order object and VC data object-which we need to update and then see the latest data.
Please let me know if anyone has debgged VA03 to know how the standard SAP program retrieves VC data in a sales order.
    Thank you,
    Hemant

  • "Procurement Wizard"  window opens for a particular warehouse while saving Sales Order

    Hello All,
We have upgraded SAP B1 8.8 to SAP B1 9.0
My client is facing one of problem while saving Sales order using particular warehouse.
Actually client is having 4 warehouses (A,B,C,D) in which if they use one particular warehouse "A" for saving Sales order they are facing a issue. The scenario is here below:
    1. Client selects all required details of sales order with along with particular warehouse "A".
    2. On saving SO "Procurement Wizard" is automatically triggered even if procurement document field is unchecked in logistic tab of SO.
    3. This is happening only for a particular warehouse "A". Whereas if I select other 3 warehouses (B,C,D) the system saves SO without trigerring "Procurement Wizard".
Client is using SAP B1 9.0 PL 08
We don't want this  "Procurement Wizard" window to open for this. As we haven't selected any check box for  "Procurement Wizard" so it should not open for a particular warehouse "A".
Do you think any issue with my warehouse or system settings? Please let me know.
    Please refer screen shots.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Saurabh,
As per your Screen Shot, I think you have Add-on.
Please stop that Add-on and then check above Scenario.
    Thanks

  • New Funtional Req-MRP Wizard Option Would Allow For Planning by Warehouse

The MRP Wizard should only generate recommendations for the warehouse(s) selected. This would allow proper planning by warehouse.
My client runs multiple warehouses in single database and manages stock levels by those warehouses. The primary reason for buying Business One was to gain efficiencies in data processing. Having the system create purchase orders allows them to consolidate the purchase process. For MRP to work for them the recommendations must follow the warehouse from which the product was ordered, otherwise they will have to split the database into multiple companies, one for each of their 9 warehouses. Currently the recommendation is going to the default warehouse, but the sale could have been made out of any warehouse.
Now every MRP run has to be reviewed in detail and every sales order that was entered has to be reviewed to insure that the correct warehouse is selected. This is turning what should be a 30 minute job into a 4 hour job, not to mention that the client now has no faith that the data is accurate, since the recommendation could be for a drop ship.
If the MRP wizard would only show recommendations for the selected warehouse then the client could run one warehouse at a time and better manage and validate the information returned in the recommendation report.
A company has 3 warehouse; WH1, WH2, WH3. When in the MRP Wizard selection screen selecting specific warehouses only WH3 is selected. The recommendation report returns recommendations that will generate purchase and production orders for WH3 based only on the demand for sales order rows that contain WH3 for purchased items and the production order warehouse code for manufactured items where WH3 is in the production order header. Demand for component items created by production orders would be for the default warehouse and would only appear when their default warehouse is selected.

    Roy,
I'm Agree with you we have the same problems with a lot of clientes and as you said is a simply change in SBO code.
We hope that something can help us

  • "Convert Selection for iPod" Command Increases File Size?

    Hello!
I'm trying to convert a file that has the following characteristics (as reported in Quicktime Pro):
    Format: H.264 Decoder, 496 x 208, Millions, AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
    FPS: 25
    Data Size: 572.20 MB
    Data Rate: 659.18 kbits/sec
    Normal Size: 496 x 208
I know the dimensions are strange, but it's because this is just a test I'm running on a workflow using Hand Brake to bring content back from a DVD (my content).
Now, when I drop just the original file into iTunes and then try to put it on an iPod, it says it can't be played. So I use the handy new option in the Advanced menu, "Convert Selection for iPod." This yields a new file with the following characteristics:
    Format: AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz, H.264 Decoder, 640 x 268, Millions
    FPS: 25
    Data Size: 1.36GB
    Data Rate: 1609.01 kbits/sec
    Normal Size: 640 x 268
How is it that the data rate and file size have increased so much? It now plays on an iPod, but why? I was under the impression that usually the problem with getting video to play on an iPod was a data rate that is too high. So it seems strange to me that the second file works and the first doesn't.
Finally, what is the difference between a file with the extension .mov and the extension .m4v? The original file has .mov and the converted ends up with .m4v. But they have the same characteristics in terms of codec. So what's the difference?
Thanks for any help and info!
    Cameron

I think I was able to resolve this myself after some trial and error. It looks like it is all in the name of the file. I've gotten some files to transfer after going into the Get Info section and updating the name (usually shorten the name or take out non-letter/number/# characters and then get the filename on disk to match.

  • Multiple Selection For Selections screen field

    Hi Friends ,
Can any body tell me how to create multiple selection for a field in selection screen and how to capture all those values of that fields in program for database selction. Suppose i am having document number EBELN from EKKO exists in selectio screen . how to create multiple selection for that and how to use all those values given to EBELN to get data from EKKO.
    Kumar.

    hi,
select-options is one type of parameters where u can give multiple values in ranges or single as a input. when u use select-options then system will create a selection screen for u and u give multiple values as
    ex:
    select-options: s_ebeln for ekko-ebeln.
internally system creates a internal for s_ebeln which has for attributes
    1. low --- starting value if  range is used
      2. high -
    ending value
    3. sign -
    operator used for validating field
    4. option -
to exclude given range of values or single value or to include.
for this u can assign default values in INITIALIZATION event as
    INITIALIZATION.
    s_ebeln -low = '1'.
    s_ebeln- high = '100-100'.
    s_ebeln-sign = 'BT'.
    s_ebeln-option = 'I' // include
                             'E' // exclude.
    if helpful reward some points.
    with regards,
    Suresh Aluri.

  • Driver table in select for all entries

anyone please let me what is driver table in select for all entries and when do we go for select for all entries

    Here is something from help
    FOR ALL ENTRIES WHERE
    Syntax
... FOR ALL ENTRIES IN itab WHERE ... col operator itab-comp ...
    Effect
If the addition FOR ALL ENTRIES is specified before the language element WHERE, then the components comp of the internal table itab can be used as operands when comparing with relational operators.
The internal table itab must have a structured line type and the component comp must be compatible with the column col.
The logical expression sql_cond of the WHERE condition can comprise various logical expressions by using AND and OR. However, if FOR ALL ENTRIES is specified, there must be at least one Comparison with a column of the internal table itab, which can be specified either statistically or dynamically (Release 6.40 and higher). In a statement with a SELECTstatement with FOR ALL ENTRIES, the addition ORDER BY can only be used with the addition PRIMARY KEY.
The whole logical expression sql_cond is evaluated for each individual line of the internal table itab. The resulting set of the SELECT statement is the union of the resulting sets from the individual evaluations. Duplicate lines are automatically removed from the resulting set. If the internal table itab is empty, the whole WHERE statement is ignored and all lines in the database are put in the resulting set.
    Notes
In Release 6.10 and higher, the same internal table can be specified after FOR ALL ENTRIES and after INTO.
The addition FOR ALL ENTRIES is only possible before WHERE conditions of the SELECT statement.
    Example
Exporting all flight data for a specified departure city. The relevant airlines and flight numbers are first put in an internal table entry_tab, which is evaluated in the WHERE condition of the subsquent SELECT statement.
    PARAMETERS p_city TYPE spfli-cityfrom.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF entry_tab_type,
             carrid TYPE spfli-carrid,
             connid TYPE spfli-connid,
           END OF entry_tab_type.
DATA: entry_tab   TYPE TABLE OF entry_tab_type,
sflight_tab TYPE SORTED TABLE OF sflight
WITH UNIQUE KEY carrid connid fldate.
    SELECT carrid connid
           FROM spfli
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE entry_tab
           WHERE cityfrom = p_city.
    SELECT carrid connid fldate
           FROM sflight
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE sflight_tab
           FOR ALL ENTRIES IN entry_tab
           WHERE carrid = entry_tab-carrid AND
                 connid = entry_tab-connid.

  • Cross-Dock: No inbound docs have been selected for planning

    Hi everybody here,
I am testing cross-docking function on our DEV environment. I set the warehouse 001 as one-step crossdocking and no opportunistic cross-docking allowed, not consider FIFO. The time ref. is delivery date & time, time window is set to 72H, release time is 2H and latest relase time is 1H.
Then I set movement type 501 and 201 as cross-docking relevancy.
I created 2 TRs with movement 501 and 201 with same material and same quantities. The 501 TR's planning time is 12:00, Aug 17 and The 201 TR is 23:00 Aug 17. However, when i run LXDCK to plan a cross docking with these 2 TRs, system prompts an error message "No inbound docs have been selected for planning".
If you guys have implementation experience of cross-docking, please give me some advice, many thanks!
