Anti-theft device for iPod?

Recently had my 60GB iPod stolen at work. Does anyone know of a good anti-theft device for the iPod? I note that they use a pretty good system to prevent theft of iPods at Apple stores, but the salesperson there couldn't tell me what it was or where to get it. Does anyone here know? Thanks.

But if they do connect it to a computer and they dont have any iPod software then there pretty much screwed because then the iPod will get messed up since they have no way of disconnecting it.... and if they do disconnect it by just pulling the plug(not safely disconnecting it)then most likely the iPod will not continue to work.

  • What is the best anti theft app for an iPod touch

What is the best anti-theft application for an iPod touch? Is there one where I can register the serial number, and then if someone tries to do a hard reset and hook it into iTunes online it will alert me. Is something like that available? Or, can all anti-theft software be overidden with a complete 'hard' reset?
    Thanks,

There is no app that will prevent some one from stealing and then using your device.  Like Limmos said, wiping the device erases all data and then its just a matter of connecting the device to a computer running iTunes and restoring the device to factory settings and then setting it up as a new device.

  • The best output device for iPod?

    Hallo Everybody,
Somedays ago I have seen an heard the T+A Caruso(http://www.taelektroakustik.de/deu/ta2/caruso/caruso.htm). This was it! Yes! Internetradio, CD and iPod in a perfect Combination of Sound! - and then the cold shower - 1700 Euro not $!
Who know a ultimative solution under this price?
DENON S52 is it not! no sound calibration!

You can connect an iPod to any sound system. So the best "output device for iPod" is the same as the +best output device, period.+
I'm told you get better sound (for the purpose of feeding into a sound system) if you connect the audio output through the docking connector, instead of from the headphone jack. You get +line level audio out+ like with other audio system components.
You can do so if you have a Docking Station device with a stereo jack, or if you get a cable like this one.

  • Anti theft software for s60 v5?

Is there any good effective anti-theft solution for the nokia s60v5? I use the nokia 5233. The software should preferably be free. thanks.

There is also the F-secure Anti Theft software for free from Ovi Store. Mind you now that none of these will actually get you your phone back. But they will stop the thief from accessing your information.
You should also just consider just using the built in security features on your phone in Security Settings>Phone and Sim Card. Here you can set the phone to lock when the sim card is changed and you can also set thephone to lock when you send an sms to it.

  • Anti theft device Apple TV

    Hello All,
We are looking at putting an AppleTV in our office, and are having trouble locating an anti-theft device as it has no kensington lock. Anyone have any ideas of what we could buy to secure the AppleTV from idle fingers? Something cheap but secure would be great.

Lock it in a cabinet and run the cables out the back to the TV.
perhaps a metal cage affixed to the cabinet would be better to ensure proper ventilation

  • What is the best anti-theft software for a laptop?

    Hi-
My daughter is off to college tomorrow and I thought it would be a good idea to install some anti-theft/retrival software on her brand new 2.4 Ghz Mac Book.
I thought I would wait until she's there so it has the college server/IP address.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks-
    Ray

  • USB Device for IPOD not recognized by Windows, whether ipod connected or no

During the past few days I have received a pop up error message from (I would think) Windows that the USB device is not recognized. I have the USB plug for the ipod connected (as always)but the ipod isn't even connected. It keeps popping up like every few seconds that the usb device is not recognized.
When I attach the ipod itself, the ipod is recognizing it because it powers up. But, it took 10 times just to get the ipod to recognize through itunes. It updated, then immediately upon completion, windows again starting giving repeated error messages that the usb device wasn't recognized.
I have downloaded the newest itunes but I had it on my system for 4 days with no problems whatsoever. I don't think that's it. No other system changes.
I've deleted my temp files and cache. Also did a "disk clean up" and "defrag." It's still doing it.
    Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Ever since I upgraded to version 7, iTunes & my PC no longer recognise my iPod, and it therefore won't sync.
It's not the USB port (other devices work in it), I rebooted my iPod and re-installed iTunes, I've tried stopping and starting the iPod Service (but can't see my iPod in My Computer). When I run the Diagnostics it says iPod connection failed. I've even bought a new USB cable but that doesn't work either.
This is driving me up the wall. Is there a glitch with iTunes 7?
Can anyone help me out?? Thanks

  • Recording Device for ipod Touch 2G?

Hi, Does anyone know if there are any recording devices available for the ipod Touch 2G. I know there are heaps of apps, but my friend has an iTalk attachment (is really cool) for her ipod nano, and it doesn't work on the touch. I'm a journalist and keep having to borrow dictaphones from my colleagues. Any tips?
    Thanks!!

  • Loaded latest version of itunes now can't find device for ipod to enable dragging tunes?

Hello remslicer, I just did this and it seems to work, I had the exact same problem and I just read what to do on another users reponce,
    I re-set my phone
hooked up the phone to my computer,
    let it do its syncing,
then I went to podcast page and un-sync and I did this with music as well, and hit apply.
go back and re-sync and hit apply again.
I went to the app and it started playing the podcast I have saved on my desk top.
I  hope this works for you too. Good luck

  • "transfer from device for ipod touch"

hi i just got a new computer looking for a way to sync my laptop to my ipod touch with out earseing the ipod any one that could help would be great i"ve dowloaded the new itunes and the old laptop crashed and is dead to the world so i don"t know what to do

Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
The ipod is not a backup device,  The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.

  • Timing device for iPod

    Hi,
I know that a video iPod comes with the stopwatch. But what I need is for a timer to measure time to the exact second (eg 12:45:32pm), and can log those "timing points" whenever I click the middle button.
Is there a way to get a program like this onto my iPod?
    Thanks.

I don't think so. It's probably time for a cheap Timex Ironman.

  • Hi, What is the best anti theft app for i phone 4's?

I like one called "i got ya" as it take's a photo of the theff when they enter the wrong pin number and sends it to your e-mail, The ony down side is that to get this app you must jailbreak you phone to get the "i got ya" app.

Is it that easy to restore the iphone even if I have a pin?
I think it's a shame with all the tecnology with have we can't some how stop the phone from working if it ever gets stolen.
I think the best route to go down is to get it insured
    Thanks for you help
