Antispam solution with per-user settings for JES4 ?

Hi,
We are currently installing JES4 for one of our clients. One of their questions is if there is software that can integrate with JES4 and that allows end-users to tweak their own anti-spam settings, f.ex. let them decide what is spam or not and how to treat it.
Ideally, it would mean a new tab in the webclient, so that they can specify their own settings as to what they consider to be antispam.
I don't know of any such tool, that's why i am asking here.
I know that brightmail can interface with jes, but as far as I can see, it's just a global filter without user-specific settings.
For the moment we are using spamassassin on our mail relays, which works quite well, but offers in our case no user-specific configuration.
Any ideas ?
I guess we might just as well tag the probable spam, and let them setup custom SIEVE rules to treat these messages, but I don't think this will be very flexible?

we currently use a tool called PureMessage
its a mail filter that sits at our gateway and filters inbound and outbound. the latest version uses ldap userid and password for authentication into a personal "spam control" where the end-user can setup white/black lists etc.. It doesn't integrate with the client, but there are certainly some user configs.
the app will work directly with JES4 ( we use sendmail for SMTP traffic so I have not done the integration )
As for a tab in comms express. I would imagine you could customize the comms express to include a tab for the end-user web interface. But there's nothing I know of out of the box to do so.

Per-user location for adobe reader plugins

I am working on an installer which for a per-machine installation, copies a plugin to Adobe Reader's plugins directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\plug_ins). But for a per-user installation, it won't have access to this directory. So, is there a per-user location for Adobe Reader/Acrobat plugins where this plugin can be installed?

Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

The quality of photo images (mostly JPG files) in printouts is awful even though the files display beautifully on the PC screen. I am using
IrfanView software for displaying/printing. As far as I can tell, IrfanView is not the problem.
When I print the same images on a Deskjet 5150 attached to a different PC also running XP Pro and IrfanView, the quality of the printouts is at
least acceptable, Some would probably say good or very good.
It's dificult to explain in words the problem with the printouts. A picture of really pretty vegetables (squashes, tomatoes, watermelon, etc) comes
out much too red. Moreover, the red, which appears shaded on the screen, seems to be all one shade in the D110a printouts.
Something similar happens to a view of a huge tree in full leaf. On screen, there are subtle variations in the "greenness" of the leaves. In the
printout, all green is the same shade. In the same printout, the trunk of the tree is all a single shade of grey. It isn;t even obvious that the
trunk is a round, solid object.
I liken the effect to audio that disappears entirely when you lower the volume and gets clipped into square waves in even moderately loud passages.
I don't know whether the D110a driver software permits adjusting the parameters that appear to be set incorrectly, and if adjustments are possible,
how I would identify which parameters to adjust, how I would access them, or how I would adjust them. I'm hoping that someone can help. Thanks.

you can't define 2 interfaces the old way (even though I saw some tricky workaround somewhere in the forums).
Use, f.e., netcfg:
Comment your old lines.
In /etc/rc.conf insert:
NETWORKS=(Eth0-dhcp Eth1-static)
DAEMONS=(..... !network @net-profiles ....)
In /etc/network.d create 2 files:
First one is named Eth0-dhcp.
Contents:
CONNECTION="ethernet"
DESCRIPTION="Whatever text"
INTERFACE=eth0
HOSTNAME="your hostname"
IP="dhcp"
DHCP_TIMEOUT=15
Second one is named Eth1-static.
Contents:
CONNECTION='ethernet'
DESCRIPTION='whatver'
INTERFACE='eth1'
HOSTNAME='hname'
IP='static'
ADDR='192.168.0.10'
GATEWAY='192.168.0.1' # your gateway IP
DNS=('192.168.0.1') # your DNS server
The names Eth0-dhcp and Eth1-static are not magic. They just must be the same in rc.conf and in /etc/network.d.

How to disable the user settings for the transparent container

Hi Experts,
I have an form designed using VC - model, which as a input field and button. When i compile and deploy every thing works fine. I get the form as the output.I am able to call this form in the portal and I am able to get the page.
Issue: When i right click on the fields in the form I get "User settings for the input field AA" and gives me an option to Hide the field. Which the users doesnot want.
I tried it on the VC runtime where i don't get the right click option.
So kindly help me out in resolving this issue.

Hi Ketan,
If you have chosen the Rendering Client as WebDynpro HTML(by default it is set so) for the callable object, then you would invariably get the 'probelm' you're facing.
Instead you could set for the Object Definition -> Rendering Client as WebDnpro Flex in the Callable object (in Guided Procedures). Now you would not get that hide option.
But one simple question, why would the user want to right click on the field? Even if he hides the fields, he always has the option to make them visible again

Teststand fails to use app with custom user settings

For a teststand project, I have to use an .Net application that is using a custom settings provider. The problem with it is that each time it is trying to use one of the user setting from teststand, the application returns an exception:
"Failed to load provider type".
I tried to illustrate with the small demo project that I attached.
The .Net application I call from test stand is AppWithUserSetting, and one of the step in the sequence File q.seq is to get a value of a user setting. That's where it crashes for me.
On the other hand, if I instantiate the same objects and read the same user setting from another .Net application (DoLikeTestStandApp), everything is fine.
Note that in the settings.designer.cs file of AppWithUserSetting, a custom line was added ([global:ystem.Configuration.SettingsProvider(typeof(AppWithUserSettings.UserAppSettingsProvider))] ) to force the program to use the custom SettingProvider. And that's where it fails when loading from teststand.
Any idea why? At this time, I would rather not remove the usage of that custom settingProvider since it allows to keep user settings even when upgrading to different version of AppWithUserSettings.

In one user account I would like to save and access mutlipe users settings at the click of a button. Can this be done?

from the Appple menu you can change the location - the location describes your network settings, if you have wlan, ethernet, vpn etc, but unfortunately not the things you want to configure.
If you want to set up your desktops and your Dock with different working sets depending on your task, then you need to create different accounts, one for a new user "Jake The Writer" and one for a new user "Jake the Graphics Designer". This you can do from the "System Preferences" -> "Users and Groups". To add an account click the padlock in the lower left corner, then the "+" and define the user name etc.
If you click on "login options" you can set "show fast user switching". Then you can switch between your accounts from the main menu bar by clicking on the user icon in the upper right corner (right beside the spotlight searchfield).
For each new user you can set up the Dock and the items on the Desktop, when you login as that user.
However, seperate user accounts try to protect your data by sharing and permission settings. So you would not be able to access the data in your separate home folders when logged in from a different account. If you want to use these approach you should store your documents in the Shared folder and not in your home folder.

No per user setting for JRE in Internet Explorer on W2K/W2K3 term. server

After installing Sun Java SE on terminal servers (both 2000 &
2003) you have an additional option within Internet Explorer 5.5 & 6.x under tools, intenet options, advanced; called "Java (Sun) Use JRE
XXX (applet) requires restart". This option cannot be set on a per user base. When a user changes this setting, it is changed for ALL terminal server users immediately. This is a big problem.
It should be able to set this on a per user base.

Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_SUN\SELECT
As some websites require Sun_Java and others won't work at all
when the Sun Java options is selected each user should be able
to select or disable this option on a per user base.

Hello. Sorry, don't have an answer for your issue. Just wondering whether you've experienced this issue in your Windows Server 2003 envionmnet.
We're running Windows 2000 Server (SP4) (and Citrix Presentation Server 4.0). We typically have 20+ concurrent users logged on to a server. Since JRE 1.5.0_7, we've had issues with Internet Explorer taking upwards of 15 seconds to display even though Iexplore.exe appears in Task Manager almost immediately. If we uninstall JRE 1.5.0_7 and use 1.4.2_6, Internet Explorers displays fine. We've tried JRE 1.5.0_11 and 1.6.0_3, and Internet displays slowly. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any thoughts of why this is occuring? Thanks.

Different user settings for scrolling in tables or ALVs

Hi Experts,
I have a strange problem.
I have a Web Dynpro Application that uses the UI Element table. For one user who uses it the scrolling mode is a scrollbar and for an other user the scrolling mode is a paginator. That appears not only for this application. ALL applications on the system have this difference for users. So, not only in tables does that appear. In ALVs too!
Does anybody know where I can configure this for every single user?

The only thing I can figure is that the user getting the paginartor has accessibility turned on:

That is the only option I know of that should override the system or application settings for scrolling. In particular accessibility can be turned on at the user profile level:
To do this, in transaction SU01 for your user name choose the tabstrip Parameters, insert the parameter ID ACCESSIBILITY_MODE with the value X, and save the entry.
Or within the portal:
To do this, in your user profile in the portal, under General Information select option Activate Accessibility (Screen Reader Required) and save your entries. This specification is evaluated by Web Dynpro ABAP.

TV Access Connections per-user settings?

I needed to set up a 2nd user acct profile on my T500 (Win XP Pro) to use for a special purpose and need for the Wireless Radio to be powered off when this user's desktop loads (same as clicking the TVAC icon in the system tray and choosing Power Off Wireless Radio).
So far my experience has been that any TVAC changes made while using the 2nd user account are carried over to the 1st user acct, and vice-versa. I would like settings to be on a per-user basis and not applied globally to all users. Is this possible, and if so how can I do it?
Using the system tray icon, I was able to have the radio powered off in the 2nd acct and powered on in the 1st acct. And when the 2nd user's desktop loads the icon is in fact powered off, at least initially, but then the auto-connect popup appears and automatically powers on the radio. If I could configure the 2nd acct to not attempt to connect automatically that would work for me, but I can't figure out how that is possible.
Any help is appreciated.

When creating users in SU01 , the settings in the default tab is mapping to the original standard. Is there any way to make the settings so that the new users created with the required settings?

As far as i know this is a standard setting and if you copy any user then you have option to select the default tab and it will copy the data from existing user but while creating it will pick the standard setting only.

Where are user settings for the JRE stored?

On a workstation, every user gets his own JRE settings (for example, changed the proxy settings). But for a deployment package, I need to set the proxy settings differently from the Internet Explorer settings.
Can't find it in C:\documents and settings\Administrator (or the user dirs), the registry, C:\program files\java\... - So where are they kept?!
