Is there any suggested antivirus that are used widely without any errors or performance degradation?
And is there any Virus Scan Exclusions list for oracle application and DB

Right click My Computer, select Properties > Advanced tab > Environment variables button ...
It should be self-evident from that point.

How to setup SMBX client for work with Windows 2003 server's shared folders?

Dear community,
Some folders within shared folder on Windows 2003 Server is not visible for MacOS 10.8 client.
How should I set up SMBX? Is there manual?
I know, there is simple solution to type exact pathname (with those invisible folders) in connection dialog, but it is not usefull for me.

Please remove the 3 non-exists DC from environment using the metadata clean-up process using script from below article. then manually delete the records from DNS management console as given below.

Manual steps to clear the records.
Dnsmgmt.msc [Dns Management]
A.Expand the forward lookup zones\_msdcs folder
i. Make sure only the actual domain controllers are listed, delete wrong Alias recordsremove wrong name server records
ii. Select the container [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\dc\_sites_\sitename\_tcp] > delete incorrect _ldap and _kerberos records are listed.
iii. Select the container [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\dc\_tcp] and delete incorrect _ldap and _kerberos records
iv. Expand the [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\domains\guid\_tcp] and delete incorrect _ldap entries
v. Select [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\gc] – delete incorrect HostA records
vi. Expand the [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\gc\_sites\sitename\_tcp] – delete incorrect _ldap entries
vii.Select the [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\gc\_tcp] – delete incorrect _ldap entries

A.Expand the [Sites\Sitename\Servers] – delete incorrect server’s
B.Delete incorrect subnet configurations [Sites\Subnets]
C.Delete incorrect site links [Sites\IP]
· Make sure the domain controllers are pointing to the correct dns servers in tcp\ip settings.
· Force replication – ‘repadmin /syncall’

Startup Framework for EP6 SP2 - Windows 2003 - registry key error

I've installed the Startup Framework and it all works from the MMC but if I try to start the SAP<SID>_00 NT Service, the portal server/dispatcher/state controller do not start up and I get the following message in the Event Viewer:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( SAPCCD_00 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Cannot open Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SAP\CCD\Environment (Error 2 ENOENT*: No such file or directory OR: The system cannot find the file specified. ) [ntservmgr.cpp 264].
The registry key it refers to doesn't exist. I followed the pdf guide & have noticed that it says Windows 2000/XP - I'm trying to install it on Windows 2003, could this be the problem and is there a workaround?
It's a problem because when the server gets restarted, the portal doesn't come up.

OK, manually added registry key - which got rid of registry error message but still wasn't starting portal.
Then set Autostart=1 in start_<##>.pfl - now works.

Long time wait for authentication with Windows 2003 AD

Hello,
We have a problem with authentication with 2003 AD. If it was no requests from VDI to Windows 2003 AD during some time (10-15 minutes), first request take a lot of time - 3-5 minutes and user need to wait after entering his username/password. Searching users in VDI GUI also take a lot of time in this situation.
How to resolve this? Size of directory is very small.
And with 2008 AD and Open LDAP there is no such problem.

Same thing for 2003, it is called IAS (Internet Authentication Service).

Basically you will set up IAS with a RADIUS Client which would be your wireless access point(s). Then you will set up a remote access policy which will define how connections are authorized or rejected (windows groups, protocols etc.). Don't forget to register IAS with active directory.

Best Practices for FMS on Windows 2003/Apache

We're experiencing problems where the flash videos being delivered from out 4GB Windows 2003 SP2/Apache machine hangs or don't play at all. Does anyone have any best practices as far as the configuration? May be we need to tweak some settings to get some stability here.

Firlsty , I would like to clarify few points.
1. You server/Box might have 256 GB of RAM, but an application of essbase has a limitation of usage.It means, more does not work always. You need sufficient RAM.
2. YOu mentioned that huge database in tera bytes sits on server of 256 GB RAM. I would like to clarify that the actual storage of tera bytes of database actually resides on the network drives i.e SAN or NAS. It wont reside at the server it self( conventionally)
3. As the data size sounds mammoth , its ought to be on SAN or NAS. So the speed of the SAN disks , Raid config also play an important role in the overall Essbase experience
Now, coming to the windows or Solaris. I have n't heard exceptionally bad experices with either of them. OS is one other parameter which would determine the performance.

I am running Windows on my Mac using Boot Camp. If I install an antivirus, will it protect me when I am logged into windows? Or do I need to install an additional antivirus when I am on Windows?

You only need anti-virus protection for the Windows environment, though this will likely bring out a fire storm of debate.
The most susceptible system is Windows so protect yourself there.

How to up concurrent manager in R12 EBS installation in windows 2003 server

I have installed R12 EBS on windows 2003 server. It was working fine for 2 days.
Then suddenly when I submitted some concurrent program ,
status was "No Manager" i.e. concurrent manager was down.
I dont know how to restart/start concurrent manager .

Thanks hussein , where do I get application env file. I tried stoping cm from the services and then executed file CMCLEAN.sql and then restarted cm from services menu. However still I can't see cm running in application. I bounced the server also before restartingConfiguration and Environment Files

Install oracle E-business suite on windows 2003 server

i am trying to install oracle EBS on windows 2003 server enterprise edition , i have installed these prerequisites :
1 - MKS Toolkit version 7.0
2 - JDK 1.3.9
3 - Visual C++ 2005 express edition
while checking the system with the startup disk , it is giving me an error :
system utilities check : - check system for make , id , ar , and cc
system utilities check : command : cmd.exe/c D:\rapidwiz\bin\checkutil.cmd C:\program files\mkstoolkit C:\program files\microsoft visual studio 8\VC
D:\rapidwiz>echo off
'which' command is not available. Check MKS installation
ERRORCODE=1 ERRORCODE_END
Error- System Utilities Availability test has returned an error: 1

What is the application release you are trying to install? Please note that 11.5.10.2 RapidWiz automatically installs JDK 1.4.2 on the Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating systems.

Oracle 9i Installation on Windows 2003 Server 64bit - URGENT

I am installing oracle 9i on win 2003 server (64 bit) enterprise edition. After the installation whenever I try to run Database Configuration Assistant or Net configuration assistant nothing happens.
If i run DBCA on command line then it runs but not from the Start menu. Can anyone suggest the solution ? I tested it with oracle 9i (32 bit) and (64bit) versoins for win2003 server platform. But same results. Also tried the oracle 32 bit for XP on windows 2003 server but in vain.
It seems like there is PATH problem but i checked all the paths and they seem preety okay. I wonder why it runs from the command line when I recall dbca.bat file and not from the Oracle menu.
I would appreciate any remedy to this problem

i have gone through the metalink certify column- it speaks that you can install BI and forms on windows 2003 0s 64bit with oracle application server 10.1.2.0.2 but without infrastructure.
Does that mean we will not be able to use OID and management repository which we are using for synchronization with the windows active directory. will i be able to use oracle discoverer???
will my forms requires some modification while going for 64-bit windows???? is there a separate 64bit oracle 10.1.2..0.2 application server software or the same that is used with 32 bit windows can work??will it solve my memory problem to use more than 4GB if i use

I have configured Oracle Discoverer 10.1.2.0.2 upgraded its version using patch 5983622 on our Production server(227) that has forms and web on it.
Now we also have production server(228) that has forms and web on it and we want to configure the Oracle discoverer 10.1.2.0.2 on 228 server .
With same url that has been deployed on 227 server(ie:http://idfcstandby.idfc.com:7777/discoverer/plus)
I am little confused with your words production server(228) production server(227) but if you meant you have one discovered server and you want to use it wiht same link on both server than yes its possible. Wiht one disco installation you can use same link more than 1 server

I can not find it on the SAP Marketplace myself.

Flash CS4 is not supported on Windows 2003 Server. It has
