Any 3G SIM?

3G is in many countries but a lot of times there is no "iPad-Specific" SIM (or SIM-plan). Can I use any 3G SIM (eg iPhone SIM) in my iPad Mini (after cutting it to size, if required)? I am asking since I travel a lot and use local SIMs. I do understqnd that I will not be able to make voice calls with that SIM in the iPad.

Make sure to get a microSIM if you can. Otherwise you will need to cut the standard SIM down to fit.

I have an iPhone4 from softbank in Japan, I want to use any carrier sim here in Philippines, what if Softbank in Japan is not offering unlocking iPhone. What can I do?

All you can do is sell your iPhone to someone in Japan and buy another iPhone. Only the carrier can authorize unlocking, and Softbank does not unlock iPhones.

If you are a gaijin (I'm a gaijin too) never take a iphone in Japan. Your phone will turn to be nothing more than a paper weight once you are out of Japan. I recently moved to UK and my iPhone 4s which bought from AU is now completely useless. AU does not unlock the phone, there is no option in the net to get the same unlocked too. So I decided to advise those gaijins in Japan to never waste your money spending on iPhones in Japan and if possible never get trapped into the services of AU.

  • PC Suite for any Dual Sim Mobile

Is there any nokia dual sim mobile which works with PC Suite ???

What do you mean by messages and other features?
Did you see my link? Here you have an overview: GSM Arena (minus the Nokia 108 and minus all Nokia Asha 50x)
I recommend to go for the Nokia X2-02 or Nokia 200 because they offer USB as well – in case you have a reset the devices, this makes it easier. Furthermore, those two should work without any hack to get the latest Suite(s) running. By the way, if you need to switch the SIM on the computer, there you go …

  • Iphone Sim Lock is deactivated from telekom, but iphone won´t start with any other sim

my iphone tells me to contact my provider, my provider tells me on help pages to contact apple. how can I find out my status of Sim unlock from the apple side? and what about a SIM that has never been used in itunes before. ? ... Can somebody help?

Unfortunatly they have given you mis information. Apple do not have any control over unlocks.
If they have confirmed they have unlocked it from your end, you need to plug the phone into iTunes with a sim card from a different provider inside, this will force the phone to check the lock status and should prompt it to unlock.
You may even need to erase and restore the phone for this process to work.

  • HT201328 I unlocke my Iphone with AT&T, followed the process and put a new SIM, restored with Itunes, it worked, but it doesn't acccept any other SIM, even with restoring. Iphone 3g baeband 5.15.04. Please i need help

I unlocke my Iphone 3G with AT&T, followed the process restoring with a new SIM, but when I put a difffrenet SIM, it doesn't recognize SIM, just says No SIM, even restoring.  Any help will be appreciatte it.

Before going to the unlock by itunes, I restore it from factory. There was not any problems, I received the message of congratulations, your phone is unlocked, but when I try with a different sim, it just say "no sim". My baseband is not comun, is 5.15.04 it is the original, I did not modify it. I do not if there is a limit of unlocking actions, of there is a conflict in my baseband. My baseband can not be modified with jailbreaks for unlockings.
Thanks for your fast answer Larry.

  • Is iphone 5s t mobile contract  free able to pick up any gsm sim in india?

i want to buy iphone 5s t- mobile contract free. i live in india is it able to support vodafone gsm in india or any other gsm sim card.

There are conflicted information  in this forum. The contract free T-mobile 5s is not "unlocked" in US, it  is supposed to be unlocked for overseas GSM. However, it is not clear  whether you need to activate it on T-mobile first and wait for 40 days  for unlock code to unlock it before you can use it overseas.
I contacted both Apple and T-mobile multiple times. None of them answered question with a clear answer.
The  best way to confirm this is to purchase the 5s from the Apple Store.  Remove the T-mobile SIM before you turn 5s on and replace the SIM with  your international SIM. Turn it on and go through the initial setup to  see if the iPhone is lock or not.
If  it is locked, simply return to the Apple store with full refund in 30  days. Since Apple is not answering the question, why not try it yourself  on their dime?

  • Can I use any GSM sim on iPhone 6 if the frequency matches the phone correctly?

I'm from Pakistan and I want to buy an iPhone 6 but I'm confused which one should I get. If I get an iPhone 6 unlocked will it work with my GSM network as long as the frequency of network matches what the iPhone 6 requires?

I know 1 is not possible because the data plan is required, and the iPhone cannot be activated without one (on AT&T). You would have to re-activate it, it's not as simple as popping in a new SIM. You might have to get a new SIM from AT&T as well, as the iPhone may not activate with the WM SIM installed.
2 and 3 are possible. You can separate songs into playlists and sync certain playlists, and select certain apps in the library to sync. Email, contacts, and calendars are a little more complicated to sync to 2 different iPhones unless different programs are being used by each of you or each person's stuff is separated into different groups (just like playlists).

  • I bought an Ipad with cell in Singpore and want to use it in uk with uk sim card, is any network okay?

I need to roam in uk - can I use any network sim? Bought Ipad in Singapore?

Don't see why not.  I have an iPad 2 which I bought in France, where I live.  I have a French (contract) sim card in my iPad, and every time I arrive in the UK, I switch to a British (pay as you go) sim card I got in London.
Mine comes from O2, but I have previously had one from Vodafone.  I only use it when there is no wifi available, as my particular offer is limited to 1gb of data a month.

  • Receiving error message "Sim Failure"  on iPhone 4S now no service.  any advice?

receiving error message "Sim Failure" on new iPhone 4S now no service.  any advice?

    hi guys,
i recently bought a new iphone 4s factory unlocked. in order to avoid sim failures and invalid sim errors or No service errors, Each phone has to be unlocked by connecting it to the Itunes.
Kindly follow the below steps to avoid any SIM card conflicts
iPhone FULL Unlock - How it Works:
-Connect your iphone to itunes without any network sim inside and when connected click on the iphones name.
    - Click Restore install latest version of iTunes on your Pc or Mac or click check for updates
    - Let itunes Backup your phone and then Flash to the Latest Version.
    - Now disconnect phone and reconnect after 10 seconds.
    - Now Enter another network simcard that's not the same network its locked on to
    - Connect phone to iTunes with not accepted (not valid) simcard
    - Wait until iTunes detects the phone
    - iTunes will display (Congratulations, Your iPhone is now unlocked)
    - Phone Unlocked
    - just follow the instructions about activating the Iphone.
    and iphone is unlocked
NOTE : This is the only FULL LIFE TIME UNLOCK solution for Apple iPhone as the IMEI is registered as UNLOCKED in Apple database.
This solution should be used ONLY THOSE WHO BOUGHT FACTORY UNLOCKED iPHONE 4S.
Your phone will always be unlocked even after each new update of your phone firmware !
All reasons given like bad IMEI series, manufacturing defects etc blah blah are not logical as everything was tested before every sale.

  • HT201328 Is there any way to confirm that Iphone4 is unlocked from existing carrier without swapping the SIM card from new carrier ?

I have followed AT&T instructions to unlock the phone and don't have any micro-SIM handy to try it out.

Did you receive the message that says "Congratulations! Your phone is now unlocked etc. etc." after completing the restore of your phone?
If so; Then the phone is completely unlocked.
If not; Then the unlock has not completed correctly, in which case you should attempt restoring again, and then failing that, contact ATT to make sure the unlock has fully processed from their end
